Mintek: A very interesting fable.
There's nothing wrong in fantasizing about a pretty girl you've got a crush on.
Dreams come true. but it could be true. i remember a lady who i was asking out in those days when I was quite broke living in the north. the lady totally refused and even stood me up several times when we booked appointments. sometimes even refused outrightly to see me when I pay her a visit. As at then she never get admission sef. fast forward 2 years later, I was gainfully employed and wearing fine suits, I met her again in another state in the east. she was a student then. I did not even beg her before she jumped into my bed on our first date. I chop the punny to the fullest for at least 2 months before I discharge am. but that was all long ago when I was single sha. |

Eggcelent: obstead200. I don't believe we do selective response to enquiries here. In your case, the answers you seek can be found in previous pages. So you're advised to go through them. Meanwhile, in summary, answers to your questions are; unless your pen is in a flood prone area, then 2 coaches of block is just enough. davidzfarm18 birds suffered from a rare disease which limited their productivity to just about 50% so he had to sell them off to cut his losses. well am honored to have the almighty prof. eggcelent respond personally to my post. Thanks a lot. |

davidzfarm18: had to let my girls go yesterday. A very painful decision indeed. I pray that God will rebuke the devourer from all the farms here.
We should start instituting legal action against these Hatcheries for shunning out diseased and low quality birds. pls Oga Davidson's what happened to ur birds? Pls share d experience so dat we can all learn. On another note, I asked the house in my previous post if 2 and half blocks is enough height for the dwarf wall of the poultry pen. Everyone on this thread seems to ignore my question. Na wa ooo Almost seems to me that responses to questions in the thread is exclusively for those who matter obstead200: I want to appreciate all the contributors to this forum. I am really learning a lot. My poultry/fishery is still under construction (find pix below). With what I am learning here, I'm confident that the venture will be a success for me. I still plan to undergo comprehensive training before take off. As soon as I can secure a leave from my place of work, I will do the training. I am also considering d introduction of a medium scale snail farm and maybe grasscutters. But I am yet to commence construction of d required structures. Meanwhile, comments from the experts on this forum on the work done so far is welcome. I must mention dat most of d idea I am using in raising d structure came from dis forum. For that I am grateful. Some pple are of the opinion that I should add one more coach to the dwarf wall in d pen. What do u guys think about that? I plan to do layers using battery cages. this question is all about perspective and present position in life and society. I can bet you that anyone who is educated and presently working in naija and who has access to above 2million will gladly go for the green card. Cos they now understand d value of our naira. Personally, if I get that opportunity, having lived and worked in naija and knowing dat with the economic environment here that 20m can disappear in 2years if I am not careful, I will quickly go for the green card. Anybody who want me to stay in naija will have to raise the stakes at least 5 times higher. 100million.

unclec2015: I want to start my own poultry farm, but before starting I will like to go for training for the course. Please have anyone on this forum attended the International course on Poultry production and Feed Manufacturing at North Carolina University. This course is for one week. If yes what is your experience and is it a good course to attend. are u for real? U wanna travel halfway around d world just to do a one week course in poultry? What practical knowledge do u hope to acquire in one week when even broiler take a minimum of six weeks to grow to size? Even incubators take 3 weeks to hatch eggs!!!! Pls just tell us u are looking for a backyard door to migrate to US. Dia are better and cheaper venues to gain comprehensive practical training here in Nigeria |

Agriculture › Re: Watermelon Farmers, I Need Your Advise On Supply by obstead200(m): 8:50pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
Denn: It is possible.
Theoretically, if you plant x number of crops that will give you a guaranteed output of 10000 balls this week and plant the same number of crops the following week etc, you will be able to harvest weekly assuming you have irrigation facilities.
That implies having 52 planting cycles in a year.
Watermelon is around 90 days plus or minus. That is 12 weeks. You can re-plant the land by the 14th week assuming ploughing and tilling takes place immediately.
You are talking about a mega-super-scale farm.
You will own tractors, ploughs, delivery vans, processing centres, labour with computer assisted work plan scheduling and very strict farm management practice.
100 hectarces of full cultivation 5 to 10 Massey Ferguson tractors each 120 HP A large office building to handle logistics. 5 delivery vehicles 2.5 tons each 10 industrial bore hokes A Cessna aeroplane for spraying pesticides A landing strip Preservation room Ripening room 20 farm hands 5 farm managers 1 admin officer
The list goes on Man!! U really killed it. Lwkmd!!!! In fact, the op cud as well just reserve N1.5billion in raw cash before bothering to ask this hypothetical question |

Its a good Idea but u need to keep ur decision to ur self man. very sensible comment.
no sane human being will ever show u his "concrete plan" if the plan is really giving him millions; not to mention bankers who are well known to be very secretive and shrewd with money and any wonderful ideas they have.
Anybody who offers to show you his plan is only out to make money from you. Infact, you are their plan; your money is their target. Q.E.D!!! |
