i'm tired of people saying that nigerians living abroad should come back and fix this country; let us face facts, there are
elements in this country who will frustrate (or at least try their best to do so) anyone who tries to move this country forward
i've heard stories of people who wanted to repair a road and were contacted by the youths/LG/area boys ( i don't know which exactly)
that they had to settle them first (as if these people won't benefit from the roads being fixed). Truth is there are people in high places benefiting
from the fact that things are not working in this country

you have just said my mind. but as far as am concerned, those people remain and are perpetuated because of two reasons.
1. obasanjo ( or any other person in power) is fully one of them. if not the major person.
2. obasanjo (or any other person in power) receives a major cut from their proceeds.


I refuse to believe that the executive council, if they are all truly men of pure and unquestioned integrity, could not independently and single handedly exile and bannish those saboteurs that thrive in nigerias misfortunes and benefits from Nigeria woes, no matter who they are or how powerful they might be.

personally, i cant vouch for nigerian pastors. while I woudnt go all the way and say they are corrupt, let me just admit that most of them love the pleasures of these world (which money can buy) more than the PROMISES of eternal riches in heaven.

My own pastor is probably the richest pastor in Nigeria, but I can bet my last Kobo and probably my life that if you are to offer him a N10bn bribe, he will definitely twist the bible to justify reasons why he should collect the bribe.
do not forget that he can only call it a bribe if he wishes to. He can always baptise it and christen it with a new name, e.g seed offering, first fruits, violent offering and so on. the names no dey finish.
anyway I still believe fully in his mandate and his ministry.

there is only one man in Nigeria (and[b] some[/b] of his followers) whom I cannot risk betting N5000 on the fact that they will accept bribe of any amount. he is pastor W.F Kumuyi of Deeper life. I can swear with my life that he will not take 100 billion dollars bribe from anyone.

As far as I am concerned, I am happy with the jugdement of the tribunal. Atiku and buhari are all very big rogues. at least yar' adua is a lesser rogue. we can manage him.

I work in an accounting firm. The norm in my firm is that as soon as u qualify as a chatered Accountant, u are due for promotion to the rank of an audit supervisor. I have just qualified, but it seems my case is a little bit unique and this has made me feel I need to do a little bit more than just waiting for my promption.This is the scenario:

1. I qualified within 7 months of my joining the firm (the shortest time 4 any staff, I hv not even  been confirmed b/4 I qualified)

2. I'm the youngest staff, (26 years) this means when I'm promoted, people many years my sunior will be under me.

3. It looks to me like they already have enough supervisors, The economy (of course) is not making things better but I believe there is still a place for me.

4.  Due to the  the reporting structure in my organisation i.e your work is delegated to u by a team supervisor ,(so u can stay a year without the management knowing how u perform),I have not been given an opprtunity to proove my capabilities to my employers.

    I want to be promoted so as to facilitate my career growth. My question is: How can I be promoted ? what do I do to add value to my organisation ?
How do I show my organization what I'm worth ? Experienced nairalanders please advice me.

I passed my peII AT A SITTING in nov'06. I passed my pe III AT A SITTING in nov'07. ICAN is easy. All u need to do is make sacrifices. Go the extra mile. practically destroy ur books with reading. Do not just cram anything u dont understand thoroughly,instead, try to understand it by all means. Also I want u to have this mindset from now till u pass the exam. to show them that u thouroughly understand the principles", that is what they want frm u. I did not go thru ATS, I went thru exemption (like u did )yet I never failed a paper. It is b'cos I was able to show them that I understand the concepts being tested. ABOVE ALL, PRAY FOR GOD'S FAVOUR.

Girlfriend No1 is far away in school (in zamfara) so I cant go to see her 'cos I'm working. No 2 chose to quarrel with me just yesterday. actually it's my fault. I will make sure we dont reconcile till after the valentine just to punish her. So except I find another catch b/4 that day, I will just marry my bird.
