gensteejay:so you admit that The Abrahamic God is not Omnipotent? ![]() |
gensteejay:you still dont get it it's a paradox, therefore, its logically impossible to break Everything single thing is bound by the laws of logic(God included) the stone parodox shows that God cannot be omnipotent because he cannot create a stone that he wont be able to carry....he he does manage to create the stone, then he is still not omnipotent because he cant carry the stone |
gensteejay:No you dont the paradox insinuates that nothing can ever be truly omnipotent,no matter how you want to define the being |
IamMichael:The religious Apologists will soon come for your head ![]() |
lekbel09:If your god exists and your religion is true, does this give you an obligation to help others who do not share your beliefs? If you saw a child floundering in a shallow pond, you would surely feel obliged to make an effort to save its life but how much greater is your moral obligation if you see a multitude of people headed to an eternity of unimaginable agony? Could anything possibly be more important than saving them? So why don't all religious people dedicate their lives to saving those who worship fake gods or no gods at all? Why do most religious people shrug their shoulders and say people are entitled to their own beliefs? Are we really so selfish and wicked? This is hard to understand. Perhaps it is because you feel it is too hard to convince others that their beliefs are wrong and yours are right. But if your beliefs are true and you know they are true, it should be possible to pass that knowledge to others. After all, if you cannot do that, how can you be sure your beliefs ARE true? I don't know why religious people are so selfish. Perhaps they will tell us. But I do have my suspicions. I suspect they don't do this because they are not really sure their own beliefs are true--they just find them agreeable and hope they are true. They have faith. And how can you expect to convince others, if all you have is faith? |
Monveronique:what I'm saying is that i refuse to believe in what no one has ever proven to exist. |
whitelotus:Let me add to this Let's be honest, God is not a star when it comes to the brains department. Apparently, within days of creation he was outwitted by a crafty snake. Soon everything went pear-shaped and he regretted making humans. So he decided to try again and drowned every living thing. That meant unnecessarily killing millions of innocent creatures but worse than that, he kept eight of the original untrustworthy humans alive hoping Noah's descendants would be better than the first lot. But they weren't and it all went wrong again. These events would be unfortunate for any creator but God apparently has the power of omniscience and STILL didn't see the disasters coming! God is not much better when it comes to making things. He made the penis with a foreskin and then realised it was a mistake that had to be cut off. In Judges 1, he helped the men of Judah defeat the Canaanites but they couldn't defeat the Canaanites on the plains because they had chariots of iron--God was defeated by simple Iron Age technology. The Bible has plenty of examples of God's errors and ineptitude that show him to be a dim and bumbling god. It is this reputation that contradicts a favourite Christian argument... Christians often point to something complex, like DNA, or human beings and argue these things couldn't have come about without an intelligent creator. But then they claim the dim and error-prone Jewish god was the intelligent creator! What are the chances that a god who couldn't make an iron chariot could manage complex molecular engineering? What are the chances that a god who was outwitted by a snake could plan an intricate DNA code that would form the basis of ALL living things? If Christians really consider DNA too complex to arise naturally, why don't they search for a super-smart god that does not make simple mistakes instead of wildly claiming the dim god they were raised to believe in must have done it? Or does anyone here think I am unreasonable? |
[quote author=Monveronique post=89891146]I'm afraid I have to leave you to your version of common sense.[/quote
goodbye then, keep living in beliefs |
Monveronique:you dont have to study logic in school for you to be an atheist Everyone has common sense and therefore has the capability to do rational thinking and evaluation which i did |
lekbel09:The highfather Odin will show you the light,i really hope you accept the love of His son,Thor |
Monveronique:3. not possible, but if it were, then it would be a good start to prove either the creation story or the big ban theory |
lekbel09:Yes for both of your questions |
Monveronique:1.no i didn't study philosophy (logic) 2. Well,i was born and not created And i dont understand your 3rd question ![]() |
lekbel09:People like you are the ones who needs pity you guys just have fear for the supernatural which has not been proven to exist |
Monveronique:Science proposed the Big bang theory as a probable explanation,Though there are no evidence yet to verify it so i will no one actually knows that Answer....yet oh and Atheism is not a religion, dont make false claims |
Monveronique:ok then it is the Belief that God does not exist |
Joshthefirst:By trying to add meaning and purpose to my existence...i dont need any God for that |
Monveronique:Atheism is simply absence of Belief in a diety,it is not a philosophy or religion |
Monveronique:"If you don’t understand something, and the community of physicists don’t understand it, that means God did it? Is that how you want to play this game? Because if it is, here’s a list of things in the past that the physicists at the time didn’t understand [and now we do understand] [...]. If that’s how you want to invoke your evidence for God, then God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that’s getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time moves on - so just be ready for that to happen, if that’s how you want to come at the problem." ~ Neil deGrasse Tyson |
Ponder deeply on this HUSH, GOD IS SLEEPING The biblical creation story is so flawed that some Christians try to find excuses for it. They say, the universe WAS created in 6 days but they were not literal days. They were days of millions or billions of years. Does this make it better? The Bible says the Earth was the first thing created but it wasn't—the Earth was created more than 9 billion years after the universe. The Bible says God created a dome over the Earth (the firmament) to separate the oceans from the rain. This implies a flat Earth and no such dome exists. To match the elapsed time since the beginning of the universe, a biblical creation day would have to be 2.3 billion years long which brings its own problems—like grass, plants and trees being created billions of years But there is one way in which this idea is an improvement. The story says God rested on the seventh day. Since a day is 2.3 billion years, God must still be resting and will rest for another two billion years or so. Now THAT does help—that perfectly explains why we see no sign of God in the universe. |
let me drop this here GOD'S MOST IMPORTANT JOB Do you know what God's most important job was? It wasn't the creation of the universe or the creation of logic or the laws of physics. It wasn't the creation of Earth or even the creation of humans. There was something FAR more important than all these things. Once God had created sentient beings his most important job was to save them from unnecessary suffering. Perhaps God shouldn't or couldn't save us from ALL suffering. After all, suffering helps us to learn and we may never truly appreciate joy if we never experience pain. No, I am NOT thinking about the everyday suffering that is a part of living and dying. I am thinking about the unbearable and unending suffering that God imagined, designed and engineered for us to experience after our deaths. God's most important job is to save us from the eternal suffering of hell. Honestly, that should not be a very demanding job, especially for a God who is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient. It should be a piece of cake. With my extremely limited intellect, I can work out what is required. Everyone needs to: 1) Hear the story of Jesus. 2) Understand the consequences of not accepting Jesus as their saviour, and, 3) Be given sufficient evidence to be sure both (1) and (2) are true. How did God go about his most important task? He revealed himself to the small and unsophisticated tribes of Israel. These were his chosen people. God revealed himself by selecting a handful of prophets and speaking to them. He made a deal with them. God would help these tribes if they would agree to follow his laws and worship him (and no other gods). The Israelites were the ONLY people God revealed himself to. The writings of the prophets together with the exploits of the Israelites were compiled into a book known are the Torah which was written in the obscure language of Hebrew (now often known as the Old Testament of the Bible). Oddly, no-one mentioned hell in the Torah. It was as if God hadn't thought of it at that time, or hadn't thought about how people could be saved from it. A thousand years passed and no-one knew of God outside of a small area in the Middle East and no-one knew how to be saved. Finally, God impregnated a virgin who conceived a son. God's son became a preacher and was known as Jesus. Jesus was eventually executed, resurrected and rose to heaven. The story of Jesus was written in Greek in a series of books by mostly unknown authors. The books were edited, redacted, expanded and changed in thousands of ways over many years. A lot of such books were discarded entirely. Those retained were compiled into a volume known as the New Testament. Together, the Old and New Testaments formed the Bible. Finally, the New Testament revealed that most important message--how to be saved from hell. But our problems were not over. The New Testament seemed to give contradictory advice on how to be saved. So much so, that 2,000 years later there are some 38,000 denominations following the New Testament and one of the differences between denominations is exactly how to be saved. The New Testament was translated into dozens of languages. This allowed the message to reach more people but also added to confusion as translations introduced their own inconsistencies. The only evidence available to us that the Jesus story is true and we must be saved is found in the New Testament. The only evidence that God exists is found in the Bible. The Bible is filled with inconsistencies, fanciful stories and immorality so billions of people find it unconvincing as evidence for God. It is easy to read the Bible and see nothing to differentiate it from the scripture of many invented religions. So how well did God accomplish his most important job? There are seven billion people in the world. Fewer than one third of them profess to be Christians. Since only Christians have any hope of being saved (according to the New Testament), at best, more than 70% of us alive today will be tortured for eternity. It could be much more than that, for we cannot be sure what proportion of Christians have done what is necessary to be saved. Perhaps, only say, 10% of Christians will be saved, leaving 97% of humanity to be tortured. No one knows. Honestly, I could have done a better job than that given just a fraction of God's resources. Almost anyone could have. It is hard to explain God's dreadful and appalling performance at his most important job. Either, he really WANTS to torture us or the whole story is pure fiction--there is no God and no eternal torture. What do you think? |
scary but i think it's just your minds playing tricks on you since supernatural being do not exist Visit a psychologist please |
SOLVED! HOW NOAH POPULATED THE ARK I've been trying to work out how the Noah family collected all the animals for ark in seven days. I think I've figured it out. They divided the world up by continents. There are seven continents counting North and South America separately. My guess is Japheth took Australia/Oceana and his wife took Asia; Shem took Africa and his wife did Europe; Ham and his wife took North and South America respectively. That leaves the continent with the fewest animals, Antarctica for 600 year-old Noah himself--it's a smaller job and, at his age, he probably wouldn't feel the cold too much. Noah's wife, Naamah, probably worked point from the ark to control everything. To get the job done in time, she would have needed to employ satellite imaging to find the animals and IsatPhones to communicate worldwide with her collection teams. Naamah would have direct access to a master database of animals and would check them off as they were collected. This was a precision operation--if she missed one animal, it would be lost forever--God was out of the creation business! Obviously, having the animals leg it back to the ark was a non-starter; they must have used transport. In fact, transport would have been the biggest problem, with vast distances to cover, huge loads and very little time. These vehicles must have been enormous. There would be no time for multiple collect-and-return-to-base trips. To get an idea of size, think in terms of 75 railroad stock cars for each vehicle. I'm guessing they used hyperdrivemobiles, with antigravity fields capable of hovering above land and sea. At the enormous multi-mach speeds necessary to achieve this task human control would have been impossible. Here I'm thinking GPS systems, directly linked to Naamah's database with radar and ultrasonic collision avoidance for day and night operation. A suitable power source must have been a real headache. Nothing short of a fusion reactor would have the capacity and power for the job. So that's it. Job done. This is one in the eye for naysayers who bleat that this job was impossible. All the technology necessary is ALREADY IN USE TODAY (or will be soon), so it is completely feasible. And, if humans can invent these things, they would be trivial for God. |
I dedicate this FTC to all the People who died from this deadly virus The vaccine will come out soon |
Wonderfool!!! |
Mbataku96:hmmmm interesting so you mean you've seen and spoken to God before? and he actually answered you, asin you heard clearly with your ears? |

nice story op,but i think it would be better if you explain the Sex scenes in details |
What are the evidence of God's blessings? Good spouse? Good job? Money? Adorable kids? Great and expensive accommodation? Nice cars? Education? Excellent grades? First class certificate? These are the things propagated by Nigerian Pastors as evidence of God's grace and blessings. But then all around me, "unbelievers" actually enjoy all these and much more. What do I need God's grace for when I can get these things without it? Something that supposedly comes from a "God" ought to be unique and should not be common among men. But it seems like Nigerian gods are actually competing with Nigerian politicians and "big men" for the wealth and success of life. The truth is: The Nigerian Christian god and its blessings were created in the image of Nigerians and their desires. Gods ALWAYS behave like the people who created them! |
