Mend aren't law breakers, they are freedom fighters unlike BH. They are simply freedom fighters fighting for the preservation of their land and their people and I support them for that. Our region produces 90% of Nigerias yet but yet the people of the Niger Delta are suffering the most among Nigerians. The North does not comprehend the severity of the matter they only complain when something disrupts oilflow in the oil pipelines from the South. |
I don't support your case on population. Remember only adults are able to vote and most of Nigerias population is youths. Secondly only 1 in 4 or 1 in 3 people able to vote actually vote thus reducing the number more. Lastly there is sone stigma in the North against women voting and acts of Violence often discourage many potential voters from actually voting. 70 million is the amount of people that are actually able to vote but only 36 million people (half of that) voted due to the reasons I stated above. Look at Chad and Cameroun, all that space but not much people. Both of these nations have only 1/9 of Nigerias population yet Chad is far larger than Nigeria in land terms. sizzlers:Industrialization and development can have severe consequences. If you develop all or most of the bushes in Nigeria, how will we filter our air? Air pollution would be a major problem and how will people maintain traditional activities such as farming and herding? Look at China, they were hasty in industrializing now they have the worlds worst air quality. You must wear gas masks in cities like Beijing and Shanghai inorder to avoid the toxic fumes. OvieE:You need more than land to support population growth. Where will you get the water and food? Or do you plan on draining the river Niger? Remember we aren't the only nation that uses it. Henry46:You can't compare China and India to Nigeria. The people's of China and India have had much experience and contact with each other. China was united under Shi Huangdi sometime around the 5th century BC, that's 2500 years and India was united under Chandragupta around the 3rd century BC that's 2300 years. The groundwork for civilization and unity has ling been laid in these nations unlike our young Nigeria in it's infancy. 50 years is far too little for you to be comparing Nigeria to other older countries. India and China have both learned how to manage large populations, but we are just getting there. Also look at Nigerias land size compared to China and India. The Chinese have a billion people and they are a force (With no oil and many backward people)The bible in the hands of a fundamentalist is more dangerous than a gun in the hands of a drunkard. Do not take everything literally. Laalamed: |
Nigeria would surely invade neighboring countries for "living space". |
Happen dey plenty. Germany don shame us again for world cup o. Chai if I knew dis ting would happen I no go sell my entire property go buy ticket for stadium. As we talk now I dey stranded in Europe |
Germany is faking too much. Every little touch and they fall. Nigeria will win. Half time score 0-0 |
This is more bad than good. Look at what they are doing to India and China, millions of low paying foreign sponsored jobs and all the money is whisked back to the West! They just see our large population as a market to market their goods. Why not support local businessmen that will employ Nigerians and keep the wealth in Nigeria? |
Are the breadwinners of families more Important than the welfare of entire ethnic groups? If violence is not a means to their goal than what is? MEND tried talking with the state but no one listened so they had to do what was necessary to protect themselves. Over 15 million lives are at risk in the Niger Delta due to the destruction wrought upon them by the oil giants. And Moreover, people's lands are being forcefully taken by the government inorder for drilling sites. Now tell me, is that just? The Niger Delta produces enough wealth to support the entirety of Africa not to talk of Nigeria, yet its people are suffering unnecessarily and have little control over their own resources. Mend is a source of hope for them, and I will continue to support Mend. |
I hope both will not be in Lagos. One in Lagos and another one in Port Harcourt seems fine. |
I support Buhari to some extent. He is right about Boko Haram and thieves but wrong about Mend. I myself, being a Niger Deltan understand and can sympathize with those whom their land is being polluted, resources being stolen without compensation, and lives are being changed unnesicarily even though we own 90 % of Nigerias Wealth. All Buhari and his cohorts know is that someone is stalling the shipment of oil headed for them in the North and such a thing must be stopped. I want Buhari to travel down to the Niger Delta and spend a month in an Ijaw village and live like the locals do without any luxuries. I want Buhari to live Like them knowing that foreign men are pumping THEIR OWN wealth from beneath his feet and he does not get a kobo thrown his way. I want Buhari to know that he might develop a skin cancer because the peoples bathwater is polluted. I want Buhari to know that he might develop liver infections because the fish he is eating is intoxicated with toxins from the water. And I want Buhari to know that the people that are fighting for his freedom and rights are labelled of as infidels. Mend cannot be compared to BH. Boko Haram wants a new Islamic-Sharia state in Northern Nigeria by force. Mend wants the restoration of their habitat, the treatment of their children and the expulsion of oil industries that continue to pollute and kill their people. Mend will fight because when a man is pushed to the wall he will fight back. Mend has agreed to lay down arms with the conditions that Nigerias top criminals be arrested, but GoodLuck has forsaken his people. Mend does not kill innocent civilians , Mend targets foreign men who are directly responsible for their troubles while BH vaporizes innocent people even their own Hausa. Until Buhari and the rest of his cohorts understand this, let them never say anything about Mend, which is something they don't understand, they can say alll they want about Boko Haram, which shares the same interest with him. To conclude, id like to say "Jisike" to the people and freesom fighters of M.E.N.D.,which in my language means right on or keep up the good work. |
Since When did we get over 180 million people? |
I don't know why but I tend to group you and Eze Uche together in my head. I often mentally expect you to behave in his manner since he is an extremist. But nowadays you resemble Chinenye, who Is an ardent neutralist by choice. It's just something I've noticed . |
Ezeagu my brother, ewekwa iwe, but sometimes I wonder who's side you are on. This doesn't necessarily apply to this particular thread but I've noticed that you've become, or already are often counter concordial to your fellow kinsmen. Why so? ![]() |
Ipringanga? "For my language that ting mean you squeeze style?". But I tink say you be Igbo, no be so? Chei madam no de ves, e be like say your name don decieve me well well, the ting sef resemble Igbo own. Since you be Yoruba why you no pick Shola or Omotola ? ![]() |
Inyi di ochi Ochi egbuom! ![]() |
O, Madam I no fit comprehend the type pidgin whey you write. Abeg make u translate am for us into pidgin or better, Igbo |
She obviously slept with a judge and was promised the win, but the judge did not keep his promise. |
Most of these things you guys are saying cannot be done in one day. As for myself I will order the army to go and arrest Buhari, IBB, and Obj simultaneously and would have them locked up or executed. Secondly, I will dissolve my cabinet and redraw the map of Nigeria, with limited federalism and more individualism with no Longer 36 states but 5 states, North West, South West,North East, South East and Central. I would ban sharia from the shores of Nigeria and systematically arrest the emir of Sokoto, and ban all religious workers from politics wether they be imams or bishops. I would fire the head of the Army and declare myself head Military man and commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Essentially I would start a military government with limited elections on the state level. Id only do this because Nigeria NEEDS QUICK ACTION WHICH SLOW DEMOCRACY CANNOT PROVIDE US. I would consolidate power in myself and declare myself dictator of Nigeria until I am finished improving things and then we can return to lax, slow democracy. But do not confuse a lack of democracy for a lack of capitalism. |
Eze na Eze di iche. Nebe nsi, anyi na akpoya Eze, Kama nhotora na onwe Ndi na ekukwaya Igwe. |
ChinenyeN:Chai, so you understand it? Amazing. So I'm guessing it's safe to say their language is a dialect of Igbo and they are a subgroup? |
Come wetin ko yana ni mean sef? |
I'm still waiting for them to make BBC Igbo since there already is BBC Hausa. ![]() |
Chyz.:It's amazing, I could only understand bits and pieces of their language. |
LagosShia:@LagosSha You are the fool. Where in my post did I mention the West or invite you? SO THEN WHY THE HE'LL ARE YOU BUTTING IN? Just Because Yorubas are divided among Christians and Muslims does it mean the Igbos must be? And who am I imposing my will upon? I have every right to speak freely about my people and I think you should be quiet and sit down when it doesn't concern you. Igbos are either Christian or Animist like I stated in my last post. Keep to your own business my friend. As for your friend, I do not believe he exists. No self respecting Igboman will befriend a beast such as yourself. |
Islam is foreign to Igboland and the East. Seeing an Igbo Muslim is like seeing a three headed dog--very rare almost non existent. Now many of you tend to confuse Igbo speaking Hausa merchants in the SE as Igbo muslims. Apart from this there is only one way in which an Igboman might "adopt" Islam. A) A few desperate Igbos might "convert" (notice the quote) to Islam and go to the North and seek financial assistance from the Alhajis and Alhajas of the North claiming to be "brothers and sisters in Islam" but they often desert and run back to the south after their financial goals are achieved. Christianity and Traditional Animism are the only belief systems that are practiced by the Igbo people and other indigenous people of the East. Now, that does not mean that you won't find Hausa merchants and cattle readers who have learned to speak little Igbo inorder to communicate with the locals and by foreigners, they tend to be confused as Igbo men. Other than this, Islam has no grip in the East since it does not bring anything politically, socially or economically to the Eastern people's. If a man is Muslim, he will be estranged from Christiana and even Animusts will see him as a foreigner. He will have no political stance since his religion will often estranged him from the people and label him as a "Northerner". But despite this, the 99% Christian oriented and 1% Sole Animist demographic still stands. |

Isn't everyone entitled to his or her free opinion? The military era has ended. mens dept: |
Nigeria's Super Eagles are getting old. We need new, young players. I don't support what Oliseh says because it is a large morale dropper. Why tell your entire team that they are not good enough and expect good results? If Osaze Is the only World Class player then what difference will having him on the team do? Nigeria needs new and young players who are 17,18,19,20 etc. There are tons of good youth players scattered around the East and the rest of Nigeria looking for sponsoring. Nigeria should adopt what England does. In England, youth are sponsored up until they are adults and once old enough, they join the main squad. I'm sure England has many players ready to replace Rponey once he retires. |
With Nigeria failing to qualify for the U-17 World Cup, Africa's Hopes lie in Cote d' Uvoire and Burkina Faso. With Cote Ivoire featuring one of Africa's best U-17 teams, they scored a whopping 3-2 with Brazil in the second half only to draw when Adryan of Brazil equalized in the 93rd minute of extra time. Although there is a long road for the Ivory Coast Junior Elephants, will they be the Ghana of this U-17 world cup? Or will Burkina Faso be? But either way, I believe the coaches of Nigeria have a lot to learn from both. Who else agrees and who do you believe will go farther? |
