lets test the FOI act. can someone ask for the report of the plane crash under the FOI act? |
sheyguy: Oga Jona is the number one oil thief, these other guys know it and that is why they engage in oil theft without remorse. Though there has been oil theft before Jonathan's regime, it got to a whole new level in his own time as the writer correctly pointed out.And where's the proof of this rubbish you wrote? dedeike: The above topic represents a subjective analysis of govts genuine efforts to ensure local content in our petroleum sector. This is the burden that the present Minster has come to grapple with even before her assumption of office last year. Her drive is to divest much of foreign control of oil exports thus bringing her in conflict with the IOC's. The author of the piece admitted this much in the fourth paragraph viz: " Industry sources say the number of companies selling oil increased dramatically after Jonathan's election as PART OF A STRATEGY TO BROADEN LOCAL PARTICIPATION IN OIL SECTOR.." This no doubt is a policy initiative deserving of commendation. The article now tried to discredit this good policy on account of the activities of those who engage in age long oil bunkering. It read " ... oil thieves were offering mouth watering offers $10 m discounts to take the commodity of their hands..." Now the big question is, did oil bunkering business in Nigeria start today? The answer is No. The second question then is, is the relevant govt authority in support of these bunkering and oil theft? The answer to this question is captured in the seventh paragraph viz; "...state oil company NNPC has placed a SCAM ALERT on its website warning of unsavory characters purporting to be bona Fide staff of NNPC or contractors to NNPC or purchasers of Nigerian crude oil or contractors to Nigerian govt..." does this in anyway suggest complicity by the authorities? The answer is No. The article went further to exonerate Diezani by hinting of the efforts by govt to entrench hitherto non existing processes for participation. Paragraph 10 reads thus: "... One recent step that has been taken is the creation of high barriers for entry for participation in NNPC's 2012-2013 term allocations..." The article went ahead to hint that the Fg sponsored NEITI to do an investigation of the sector( thus reinforcing GEJ's claim on media chat on Sunday that he had long before the House probe taken steps to probe the oil sector) . NEITI submitted its report in January and revealed that billions of oil revenue are being lost to theft prompting the MINISTER TO INVITE MALLAM NUHU RIBADU to oversee our oil revenue. Last Tuesday, GEJ sacked the NNPC Directors as part of govts continuous sanitisatisation of the sector. Ordinarily, these were matters that previous administrations failed to probe. Bunkering has always been good business in the history of Nigeria. But this govt is taking a bold step to handle it while ensuring that there is local content in our crude oil export sector. GEJ and Diezani deserves our maximum support.Nice analysis, most folks on NL will only look at the heading of the thread and start insulting others. What government is failing to realize in their bid to encourage local participation in the oil industry is that some industries like in the oil sector is not an "all comers game" It's nice to note that high barriers of entry have been created in the NNPC 2012 -2013 term allocation participation. It will be better if term allocation is done ones in ten years, that will bring sanity to the sector, imagine the nightmare buyers of crude are going through to identify genuine sellers of Nigerian crude, looking for errors in the offer placement to know if it is a fraud. A 10 year allocation regime will make it easier to know the Nigeria industry players to buy crude from. |

bought my MTN 16k after holding on for a long time for the price to drop. cheaper than paying 200k bribe for Nitel Land line then with 1 year wait before installation. |
Tintinix: .....And it's becoming so irritating!, I just scroll down each time to see who else is making sense rather than the insults!Thats Nigeria for you. Full bodied people asking someone else to pay for the fuel they consume! No shame, asking for subsidy on consumption and yet the wonder why the contry is not improving. |
and they should report to the SSS. Remember I did not say report to the police, I said SSS |
It depends on where he was kidnapped, if it the east like Aba or PH, they should go and borrow money else the guy will die there, The Ibos who are into kidnapping does not care a bit if their victim die. If in the west, let them negotiate and see what can happen |
this is a war that can only be won in cyberspace. |
On the birth of my 1st baby, my wife had pre-eclamsia, she convulsed severely. luckily it was already 38 weeks and the baby was induced. It was a scary period. The baby had low birth weight but it all turned out well. I research the situation then and found out it only happens with the 1st pregnancy for a partner. We have had other children ever since without any other problem. |

Ikechialex: I witnesses de house to house search bY men of the joined task force.... OMG it was war for those leavening behindThats good. Looking at the response of people on this forum it is obvious that we have alot of failed people on Nairaland. People openly supporting violence and crime against the wife of a senator, just because they are wealthy. Kidnapers are no body's friend. I know a married woman who was kidnapped on this same route 3 weeks ago. She has nothing to do with politics, she was driving a kia, a cheap car for that matter, yet she was kidnapped with her 2 kids, she was raped, made to sleep among dead people in the bush, she was made to lie on graves of other victims who died from the torture they recieved on being kidnapped and she was severely beaten. She passed through all these horror for no fault of hers, yet idiots are coming online to encourage these kidnappers. For those of you that are happy at the kidnap of other peoples wives, may your wife , sister and mothers be made to pass through kidnap experience |
beggers now have choice |
I wonder when Nigeria security officials will learn. You don't arrest terrorists in Gombe and keep them in a prison in Gombe. terrorists arrested in Afganistan and pakistan by the US are not kept in Afganistan or Pakistan, They are shipped to Cuba, thousands of kilometers away. Nigeria security need to ship those terror suspects away from the North, Bring them to Sapele prisons, warri prison, port harcourt prison or any prison in the riverine areas of ondo state and see how their supporters will come and free them. In short, create a prison camp for them in Riverine Burutu or Ekeremor and see how they can escape. Monkey smart na because tree near tree |
agiboma:Where is your filling station. I need fuel for my generator. |
this story is meant to wipe up sentiments against the nddc. the story is carefully crafted to look as if the 1.3billion is meant for just one office complex. nddc has offices in all the 9 nddc states and in abuja. there is gross corruption in presidency and in the legislature. these two arms of govt needs to be cleansed. focus has always been on state govs, at the federal level the steal in hundreds of billions. The nddc budget was obviously inflated with regards to recurrent expenditure yet the senate passed the budget, infact the senate even increased the nddc budget before passing it. why will the senate that is supposed to represent all nigerians inflate an already inflated budget if not so that the can get their share when the budget is released. one day something will surely give and those who are entrusted with the commonwealth of nigerians will be called to question. |
james1:Exacly where will the money to do the bolded part come from and how long do you really think that will take to achieve? |
HIV positive people get some free drugs from Govt hospitals. While they get the main drugs free, they still need to buy some drugs on their own when there is no stock in the hospital. but the govt support is very helpful.
Recently I have had worse than the major and minor syntoms of HIV however I have gone through Hiv 1&2 and all resulted negetive but am still scared however now I have considered myself a HIV+ person cos this thing is seriously stong on me than I can bear and that it can not hiv.
Get another HIV test from another test centre. cases of false positive and false negative results do occur periodically. hapi:the earlier you believe the existence of HIV and protect yourself, the better for you. These conspiracy theories will help no one. People are living with the disease. |
bought and inverter on ebay once, paid through paypal and the guy refused to ship from china. kept giving excuses of the product not being ready. i sensed he was stalling, waiting for paypal complaint time frame to elapsed. Long story, I reported to paypal and got my refund from paypal. and trust naija, i made sure i was the highest bidder for several of his subsequent auctions on ebay, and each time I refused to pay for the items i bidded for. i kept asking him to promise in writing that he will shipped this time around before i will pay him. just wanted to make him know he is not as smart as he thinks. |
I wonder why people are talking about these attacks as if they are new. Northerners have always seen killing and maiming as part of their political strategy. The killing of thousand of easterners in early 60's lead to to the civil war. It has been a yearly ritual in the past decades for northern muslims to kill others because of religious, tribal or political differences. Its nothing new, if I were Jonathan, I will not lose sleep over any of these killings. They are just political calculations to tarnish the govt. What needs to be done is to pick the beneficiaries of these mayhems and make them sing like parrots. |
you can use kerosene in place of diesel. just that kerosine causes diesel engines to run hotter. you will most like have over heating issues. i use kerosene on my diesel gen once in a while |
what type of container, whats the size. your post is very vague |
I will say the Urhobos are "blessed" with bad senators. Ibru was always sleeping in the house when issues were being discussed, Brume spent his time trying to block the creation of the University of Petroleum studies Effurun, prefering distruction of the PTI in the name of affiliation to Uniben, Ibori had to push him out. Eferakaya was just there occupying space for 4 yrs. Now Ewherido does not even know the responsibility of the Federal govt to the people he is representing. So when Next years appropraition bill comes to the senate and no Federal road project for Delta central in the bill, he will be very satsfied with the bill. Just wonder why Block heads are representing these people |
The only senator elected under the DPP is making promises. Who is fooling who. He is alone in the senate and can be easily isolated. As a former speaker, he should know that not all road projects are the responsibility of the state govt. Stating that roads are responsibilities of the state govt shows that either he does know what the responsibilty or f the fed govt is or he is simply lying to be able to blame federal failures on the state governor who he fought against. Both scenarios shows he is not a good senator. |
Your girlfriend is tired of Waiting. She can not proposed to you so she brought up this story to make you hurry up the marriage. So marry her right away else you stand the risk of losing her if the opportunity presents itself. |
The guy doesn't need to beg. He just need to pretend he wants the other lady then you will realise your mistake and come looking for reconcilliation. Your guy pick a more attractive girl and you are forming. Try it with some guys and you will lose |
maybe ibori should be shot. I guess that will solve all the problems we have as a nation. Compared to Uduaghan, some have started realising that Ibori was a better Governor. With time many deltans will realise that Ibori was among the best govs the state had ever had. Unfortunately, the Urhobos do not know politics and will continue to pull down their leaders over petty things. If the Vmobile deal was the whole reason for all the chase and character assassination meted out to Ibori over the yrs then they really need to tell us what they are chasing. |
reindeer:enemies of the govt promise to make the country ungovernable unless the president chickens out of the election and does not contest. they bomb campaign rally of the president party, they bomb government workers preparing for the election and the right response from you is to blame the govt, reward thesame opposition by voting them in. Your logic is grand. But for me no amount of bombs by the opposition will make me vote for them. Bombs and violence do not sway me. |
It a shame that Nigerians can open their eyes and kill young promising corpers whose only crime is that they chose to serve their country in the time when stedfast people are needed to solve the problem of vote rigging in the country. And what do we hear on NL, instead of condemnation of the senseless act, people are here blaming the govt as if the govt did the bombing. Someone somewhere certaining have information that will lead to the arrest of the idiots causing these pains to our fellow citizens, but instead of speaking out, they cover up crimes just because they are either of thesame tribe, from thesame region or of thesame religion. I wish we can have a good security network in Nigeria, where they will keep tabs on every one who is likely to forment trouble and make them pay each time they commit a crime. but who can mindlessly kill graduate corp members, if not those who believe that western education is sin, whose religion preaches violence, who mix religion and politics. Boko Haram and CPC the party of violence need to be watched closely. |
applezhang:no worries. But make sure you bring in good products only to Nigeria. |
applezhang:insurance its about 0.35% of the proforma invoice total cost. i.e N3500 for every N1m invoice |
