PoliticsRe: How We Killed US Returnee -kidnap Suspects by ogb5(m): 8:01am On Dec 27, 2012
in the 80's it was common knowledge that many ibos supplement their business with cheating and in some cases stealing.

they will own cd195 motorcycles then which they use in patrolling the highways. any broken down vehicle which they come accross on the road they will canibalise and sell as spare parts.

many turned a blind eye then. the reasoning was that these were a people who lost so much during the war. it was felt as their little way of showing their vengeance.

so the nation watch while the ibo man destroyed public infrastructures to sell either as spare parts or as scrap metals. they will cut off metal parts of bridges for metal scraps. stealing of Nepa electric cables, insulators and transformers were fair game to them. the small thieves among them will drain the coolant oils from electricity tranaformers, making the transformers to overheat and blow up while they sell coolant oil as mercury.

buried armoured electricy cables where not out of their reach, neither where overhead metallic road signs. The Ibo man was willing and able to destroy and public infrastruture to sell as scrap metal.

Those were those days. they did all these mostly outside their regions. they destroyed public infracstructure in regions that fought the war against them.

these days, the Ibo man has progressed; he is no longer contented with destroying public property to sell as scrap outside of his region. Today the ibo man sells his brother as scrap in all regions.
they kidnap any one for ransom. their sons can no longer go home from christmas for fear of kidnappers lurking in their villages. even when they remain in the city, they are still fair game to their brothers in the kidnap game.

how lower can the ibo man sink in the quest for easy money. It is really sad to see the great contributions of many hardworking ibo men blighted by the negative actions of an equally large number of ibos.
PoliticsRe: An Exclusive Interview With Buhari by ogb5(m): 11:26am On Dec 25, 2012
everybody is giving interviews these days.

Some questions I would have loved him to answer.

Why did he allow so many people to get un-employed by banning the importation of almost all raw materials used by indutries. He commenced the killing of Nigeria's industralisation by that action. Almost 30yrs after, many of the affected industirs are still dead.

Why did he turn PTF into an arewa organisation. The oputa panel documented the abuse effectively. Our commonwealth as a nation was single handedly used by him to develop a few section of the north at the expense of the whole country.

and why the hell did he not campaign in the south all these time he has been running for president. Is it because as far as he is concern, the North is the lord amd master of the country? and as such the south does not count?

Why did he, a northerner take another notherner as his 2nd in command when he was head of state.
Why did he a muslim, take another moslem as his 2nd in command when he was head of state.

why was shagari a northern president put under house arrest while ekwueme, a southern vice president sent to kirikiri maximum prison?
All these issue point to one fact: Buhari does not believe in the equality of states in Nigeria. To him Northerners are more of a concern to him, the rest does not matter
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala's Mother's Kidnapper Arrested In Bank by ogb5(m): 10:42am On Dec 25, 2012
Goes to prove the point "there's no perfect crime"

There will always be loopholes in any crime that can be used to crack it.

Kudos to the sss.

But they really need to look at the police. There are people within police force that are obviously not doing enough to stop these kidnappings.

The question is why they are doing what they are doing.
How does HIV come inhuh did you hear that she was raped? that's how rumors will start spreading because of people like you.
You are right.

No report that anything happened.

Just that people who are heartless enough to steal an adult (kidnapp) can go to any lenght, and I wouldn't really believe they are of noble upbringing to leave their captive alone.

My line of work and where I lived previously in Nigeria allowed me to meet some kidnap victims. The tales they tell at the end of the ordeal is not very palatable.
I advice you spend time with some victims if possible and know the ordeal they go through, then you will have a better picture.

FYI, even married women are not accorded the respect of being married in many cases, not to talk of unmarried folks.

This is a crime that the society really need to look into and fight the way it should be fought. Kidnapping is among the worst crime that can be commited against anyone.
By broke, I meant abject wretchedness. Trust me, upon casting a glance at anyone in my clan, the kidnappers will be so moved that they would even donate some money to us.
You are richer than you think.

If it ever happens, while I don't pray for it, you will come to NL to solicite for help to save your relative
HealthRe: HIV Prevalence In Nigeria By States! by ogb5(m): 9:20am On Dec 22, 2012
The data displayed means very little statistically speaking.
When displaying statistical data, the sample population needs to be stated. This is not the case here.

Are we talking percentage of the entire population of each state living with HIV or is it % of infant born with HIV in each state.
The data could also well mean % HIV status of pregnant women in each state, or HIV status of all patients admitted to govt hospitals in each state.
CelebritiesRe: Nkiru Sylvanus' Kidnappers Were Paid N8 Million For Her Release by ogb5(m): 9:11am On Dec 22, 2012
The comments here make one wonder if nigerians really know what is happening to their country.

People are glorifying criminality.
very pathetic.

That young woman will bear the scare of this ordeal for the rest of her life. One will not be surprised if she commits suicide in the near future because of the experience.

Yet people are here online glorifying the crime.

She might just have been infected with HIV for no fault of hers

Another young individual on the loose.

Those of us who say Buhari should go to hell saw the meaning of essential commodities in the 80's and how he managed ptf as a northern agenda.

Buhari should go and die
FoodRe: Sokoto Meat Market (Chicken Section) by ogb5(m): 2:47pm On Dec 17, 2012
That chicken is like maybe 1.5kg in weight and it is 1200 naira which is like 7.5 US dollars. This works out to be about 5 dollars per KG and people are saying it is cheap.
By what standard is it cheap. Where in the world do people buy whole chicken at 5 USD per kg? It is damn expensive, we have not even added the cost of dressing the chicken
PoliticsRe: Yakowas death - Buhari Postpones Birthday Lecture by ogb5(m): 1:54pm On Dec 17, 2012
Buhari could have made Yakowas stay as governor better if he had acted as an elder statesman and called his religious hoodlums to order long ago.

He chose to keep quiet while Boko haram decimated the North, Kaduna state inclusive. Now he is commiserating with the man's family. Nonsense
PoliticsRe: Kidnappers Of Okonjo-iweala's Mother Demand $1Billion Ransom by ogb5(m): 11:51pm On Dec 10, 2012
Can u not see reason people are turning to kidnapping is cuz of the economic situation? Sit back, relax some day and poder it over u will come to same conclusion with me
A man does not rob out of poverty, robbery comes from greed. The problem is whether you know that.
You can find reason to justify any crime, but a crime is a crime, there is no positive crime.

you may join the kidnappers and terrorise society, but where are they great terrors of yester years?
Cowards attend the funeral of heroes, at the end of the day you wonder who really is the coward

You may terrorise society, but believe me, the life expectancy of hardened criminals are routinely shorter than that of the general society,
just a matter of time, we will weed out the criminals
PoliticsRe: Kidnappers Of Okonjo-iweala's Mother Demand $1Billion Ransom by ogb5(m): 11:15pm On Dec 10, 2012
The kidnappers obviously want their share of the national cake. The crumbs and left-overs of the national cake is no more enough, now, people have come up with a means of venting their frustrations by hitting those who are suppose to better the polity where it hurts.

If the thieves can't uphold capital punishment on corrupt officials, same should not hold swey with kidnappers
I hope you will repeat this trash when they kidnap you or someone close to you.

afam4eva: If Imo had converted some of their silver and bronze medals to gold, they would have been in the top 5. I also want to commend Ebonyi. They have done well coming second considering the fact that they're often looked down on by other SE states. Imagine them beating Anambra, Engugu and Abia.
You mean Ebonyi coming second among the eastern states!
Because Nationally they are 20th.

Even the state in the 35th position came out 1st if you are looking at the last two states on the medals table

Age 2, when we used to hold funnel for an old man that always bring pamy to the area. Each holding fetches each child 1 kobo which we use for the next days rice from the cooked rice vendor.

Lovely olden days, imagine asking for anything worth 1 kobo these days
SportsRe: Delta Crowned Winners Of Eko 2012 by ogb5(m): 3:01pm On Dec 10, 2012
afam4eva: You're right. I also remember the stadiums that were built by Ibori that were used to host the African women's nations cup. But i want to imagine that other states are also practicing just like Delta state but the gap is too much. One would even imagine that Lagos should be ahead of every state in these kinds of competitions but each time it's always Delta state.
You need to understand something, you are either a winner or a loser. Delta state has always been on top when it comes to games in Nigeria.

Even when it was Bendel state, they were tops, with the division into delta and Edo states, both states continued to dominate the nation's sport arena. So its just a tradition.
And you know once you have a winning formula, you can always capitalise on it. Why do you think the big world powers keep dominating the olympics and why do you think Kenya keep dominating long distance races?

It's just their niche, Others really need to play catch up
SportsRe: Delta Crowned Winners Of Eko 2012 by ogb5(m): 2:48pm On Dec 10, 2012
afam4eva: The question i keep asking myself is: What's so special about Delta state that they beat all the states hands down.
You need to see them practicing for competitions, quite serious. I witnessed a normal athletics practice session at the sapele stadium some yrs back, the girls where running with big motor tyres tied to thier waists, Tough practice but I guess the result has always turned out good.

And by the way, remember the "good for nothing" "Criminal" formal delta state gov, Ibori built 5 stadiums across the state, so they have somewhere to practice.
Maybe if your "saintly" governors can build some more stadiums, you might just be able to compete against delta athletes

Joliecoco: Why is it that older men love to pursue Young girls? Especailly old African men , it is disgusting how they are intrested in girls that is old enough to be their daughter. I have had a lot of old and sucessful guys ask me out , but I always say no thanks. It is scary , these perverts need to find women their own age. Have this happen to anyone?
Because young girls are mostly un-married. You want the men to go after old women that are already married?
PoliticsRe: Video Of Proceedings In A Sharia Court In Nothern Nigeria by ogb5(m): 10:10am On Nov 08, 2012
abubello: @Op if you listen carefully the Judge said while sentencing the accused: " bisa ga ikirarin da kayi.... ie "based on your own confession....... That is to say he was sentenced based on his own confessional statement.

So what exactly is your point?
did you also hear what the accused said? that compared to the beatings he got from the police, the 15 lashes were easy punishment and he will take it.

whatever confession the judge was talking about was got through police beating him. The point is when an accused come to court, it is always better for the guilty to go free than for the innocent to be punished.

A man tortured by the police and then brought to court should not be punished by the court unless it is proven in court that the man is guilty. confesions got through torture should not be used in court.

I have since grown up wit dis and i must say, SORRY helps in maintainin a relationship .

why should you apologise without defending yourself. only apologise if you are wrong and apologising will make the relationship better.
PoliticsRe: What Are The Chances For Northerners In 2015 Election by ogb5(m): 9:51am On Nov 08, 2012
Northerners should learn to be patriotic. They ruled the country for donkey years and left the country worse off. they should keep their cool why we try and sort out the mess.

A progressive country will be better for everyone, we don't want any religious bigot, nepotic kingpin, regional meniac lording over the country and keeping us stagnant because they prefer old stone age living.

Millions of Nigerians are out of work and need good leadership, lets not experiment with their lives and bring to power those who brought us into the mess

never heard of that airline before. Just fly it and give us a feedback if you survive the trip grin

one thing for sure, no airline will take 92kg of checked in luggage for you without you paying for extra money. Better call the airline to know how much extra it will cost you.

Remember to give us the feedback after the flight. thats if you are still alive, others are flying aero you are flying canoe or whatever
