Protesting staff of the National Assembly and National Assembly Service Commission have said they were tired of discussions and conversations on the issue of salary review.

They insisted that all they wanted was credit alerts on their phones. 

The workers under, the auspices of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, said they wouldn’t call off the strike or engage in any conversation with the management of the national assembly until they received payment of the arrears of their unpaid salaries and allowances.

The workers, who blocked the gate of the National Assembly complex refused to listen to the Secretary,  Human Resources and Staff Development of the National Assembly, Suraj Oladoyin, who came to address them on behalf of the National Assembly clerk, Amos Ojo. 

Oladoyin tried to persuade the angry protesters about the need to sit at a table and discuss but they replied him with an uproar chanting, ” All we want are credit alerts,  we are tired of talking.”

The chairman of PASSAN,  Sunday Sabiyi, who tried to bring some calm to the situation, said the executives were also tired of the back and forth over the issue. However, it was expedient that they listened to the voice of reasoning. 

Sabiyi said, “We are all in this together and even the management would benefit from it. In fact, when the money is paid, they would get more money than us. 

“You cannot be more tired than the executives of the association. We have been on this issue for over three years. And this time, our request must be granted but we have to listen to them and have a dialogue. 

It was observed that no member of staff was allowed into the building and those who were not aware or interested in the planned protest, were turned back at the gate. 

It was gathered that the water and the electricity at the NASS complex have also been disconnected.

3 whole years? I don't get it, what about the huge funds released yearly for the day to day running of the National Assembly? Don't the members of the two chambers get paid? How come the workers don't receive their salary? It is obvious executive members of their executive are involved in some shady deals, this issue won't linger this long if there's no foul play.

One thing I know is that Tinubu will do whatever it takes to be the president. But I really want the DSS to look into allegations of Tinubu being a master strategist as claimed by most Tinubu urchins. A master strategist could deploy massacre as an instrument to achieve a purpose.

Tinubu must be interrogated and detained and possibly jailed or hanged, when found guilty of mass murder with intention to rope in a totally different ethnic group

In my own case, I am raising an important issue that needs thorough investigation by DSS to ascertain the Jagaban of Yorubaland is not involved in this well orchestrated massacre, to rope in Fulanis for mass revenge.

These allegations have to be looked into. Already Yologbas boast that Tinubu is a master strategist. This massacre should be investigated, to ensure it is not yet another element of Tinubu's strategy.

Hello, a fresh graduate just relocated to Lagos in search for job and doesn't have a place of his own for now but squatting with some friends. It seems he's not that comfortable.

He saved some money from his previous job in Enugu before relocating to Lagos in search of a better job.

Presently, he's thinking of enrolling in a cyber security training and ethical hacking tracking with his savings.

Should he get an apartment first before he gets a job or he waits until he gets a job before he rents an apartment? For now, he's squatting with some people and not really comfortable.

What do you suggest please?

Dear Nairalanders, Good evening to you all. I'm in a state of delima right now and I'm so confused on what to do that's why I decided to bring the issue here.

I have a Cousin, he's wealthy and we used to be very close to each other, we do alot of things and talking together. Even when we do meet at Villa during festive periods, we are always together 24/7 that people do think I'm the one eating his money. (If cousins were to marry each other, we would've married ourselves)

So fast forward to 2020, things began to take a new turn, he began to change towards me completely, he hardly picks my calls, neither does he reach out to me thereafter to know why I called (Mind you, I'm not a leech to him, as my family were very comfortable too) When I lost my mom (May her soul rest in peace) this my said cousin never called me to sympathize with me, and I didn't hold it against him either. He started giving me space, I tried everything possible to know why the sudden space from him, but to no avail. So I kept my cool and distanced myself from him.

So fast forward to this 2022, his fiancee (Whom I knew her from him) called me on the 20th of last month to tell me that their wedding is on the 18th of this month and she would so much like me to be in attendance! My cousin never bothered informing me about it even till now!

Now my question is,' Should I honour the said invitation by his Fiancee and attend their wedding or I should stay back and call her to wish her Happy Married Life after their Wedding?
