lol!! Did you think i didn't know all these about ma beloved country. Do you think i trully want Nigeria to break up? No i don't ! And i would cry, and cry if we do break up. In fact they do not believe in Jesus christ! besides, America is much more united than Isreal and you cannot compare America's diverse nature to that of Isreal. BUT then again, since many of them do not even go to church, we cannot safely say that it is religion that binds them together!
Look closer, the average American respects his neighbours. He considers before taking certain actions such as littering the streets. When a girl brings home a guy to her parents, their first question is not ''where does he come from'' but stuff like ''what does he do?'' ''does he make you happy?''
These little things are what binds them together because these are things that come from their hearts

The roots o any people or nation determines a lot. U might no longer be church goers or serious chrisrians but like you post states, ur fore fathers were. And the've passed this christian teaching over and over that it has become part of u. Even if you don't go to church. And it makes a lot of sense to every migrants in ur country.

That roots is what the problem of nigeria is. Different roots, some ethnical and some religious, the religious part is the most important. As a religious nation we have every right to choose and practice our religion how ever we feel. But there are two main religious practice. One is more libral while the other is not. so tell me how do you want these people to live together in peace and harmony. it just can't work! Not with a religioun that has not evolved past the 7th century.
