They will never forget. . .that bag is a symbol forever
yeeehhh Lwkmd.

The stand Nigeria took on the ghaddafi issue, could be justified to some extent, we had been imprisoned and pulled against our will by our own military leaders. So we understood what libya was going thru, if we had taken anoder stand it would have ment like our ghanian nibours, we have forgotten too quickly were we are coming from. on the post by the koffi's just leave them. Let them get a little laff, they really do need it. U no as big brothers we need to be sure they are happy and getting along with other west african countries, this would help us focus on more serious issues.
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe At African Union: Let’s Stand Up To West by oiseworld: 1:34am On Feb 03, 2012
fear, fear African leaders, what are we resisting the west form? From buying the oil u can't drink, or buying the diamonds, gold and resources you don't used.

all i see here is fear from a confused and threatened african leader. The uprising in northern Africa were caused by d people themselves not the west and he wants to resist, has he asked himself how far he can go with out the west. can't believe he got a standing aviation from his fellow poor, greedy and confused African leaders.
PoliticsRe: Nupeng Commences Strike Over Inhumane Treatment Of Its Members By Shell by oiseworld: 4:42pm On Feb 01, 2012
when we said join GEJ in the removal of fuel subsidy u all shouted no.we will die oooh! He want to kill us, dis dat. Now you see, who is NUPENG with out fuel subsidy, will the go on strike if i asked to be supplied tankers of petroleum product.

I pray the strike stays for long. When we begin to buy fuel for 200/300 per litre then you would ask GEJ TO REMOVE THE SUBSIDY QUIK.

with wind of change taking place in the Arab world, i won't be surprised if in the nearest future, even the Arabs must have become Christians and those things in northernNigeria would out of shame still be holding unto their vague god.

OH GOD, HOW CAN WE SING THE LORDS SONG IN A STRANGE LAND.

THANK GOD SOMEONE IN THE HOUSE CAN REASON.  WHAT A RELIEF.

the shameless Africa Union has started again. they have threaded a wrong path by not voting  GEJ. how would they? when Jonathan refused to join them in their cowardly decision of supporting GADDAFI. once again they have allowed their African mentality to guide them in this election.

i hope the figure head there (BENIN PRESIDENT) this time would be more reasonable and understand the movement of tide.

To my best understanding of happenings in Nigeria,I think running for AU chairmanship is going to compound our woe as more oversight responsibilities even africa security will be inter alia among other challenges.
He should put his house in order before aspiring for the office
you are wrong there, with him being the AU chairperson he has a chance of controlling the arm movement from northern africa to Nigeria. he could cut off armo supplies from gboko haram. its doom for them

take it or leave it.

PoliticsRe: IBB I Would Put On My Uniform If This Country Heads Towards Disintegration? by oiseworld: 12:11am On Jan 28, 2012
Big B1:
If IBB is not the most powerful man, who else is there?
If not being able to thread south is what determines the most powerful in the country, then this world must be coming to an end.
Just a few months ago, where were you when Ojukwu, your king was dancing behind IBB?
Were you sleeping when Ibori the owner of 80% of south south stated that would kill himself to mingle with IBB?
Where were you when Senator Ken Nnamani stated that the best option in Nigeria is IBB?
Where were you when Peter Odilli (the king of boys) called IBB the best friend Igbo people can't afford to lose?

Thisisn't even what we should be discussing at this time, we should all focus more on anything or anybody that can turn this country around asap or before it is too late.

If something isn't done right away, the end to Nigeria and Nigerians isn't too far. Therefore, our priority is to safe this great nation.
lets separate politics from reality. all this names you called made their money during the IBB military regime.  definitely they are bias. and most of these guys have been rejected one way or the other by the reasonable ones among their people.

finally,i want Nigeria to remain one, but i see no reason why we should with soomuch problems like our religious deference and other differences. so it is not a priority. PLEASE.

lets ask our leaders what they have gained in this one Nigeria, or what we should know about this great nation that should keep us as one.
mind you IBOri is not the owner of  the south south as you claimed.

United States (the real deals maker) can careless about what you people post on Nairaland or anyone else says about Babangida. The fact remains the same, this man has been gone for over 15 years and you people still can't get yourselves together. You claim he is a bad man, but yet he has not been probed or arrested or jailed.
He remains the most powerful man in the country for over 20 yrs. Abeg, what else is left? Nothing is left, unless we want to foo1 ourselves as usual

It is in the history that when a country is breaking down or out of control (as long as USA has an interest), United States goes to the most powerful individual in the country, who isn't in power, for help to restore things. Go and check

If Babangida shows a fruitful initiative, United States will back him without any hesitation.
who told you he is the most powerful man in the country, he can not thread the south. with out being leached, so what made him powerful, even his northern brothers did not vote him in during the PDP primaries.  if the US are looking for how to bring calm to Nigeria, IBB IS THE WORST OPTION. THE SOUTH HAVE REJECTED HIM the way GOD rejected Saul.

but in all, let GODS WILL BE DONE. IBB OR NO IBB.
PoliticsRe: IBB I Would Put On My Uniform If This Country Heads Towards Disintegration? by oiseworld: 10:58pm On Jan 27, 2012
i love Nigeria and i want this country to be one. but am surprised at what our leaders have made this country to become.

what are they hidding from us? instead of giving us reasons why we should be one country they come out openly to tell us they have a bullet in their body ffor the unity of the country.

so what happen when you and your bullet are now six feet underground, would you stop this present generation who see no reason why WE should be one.

and they call him evil genius.

IBB NIGERIA DOES NOT WHAT TO SEGREGATE, BUT GIVE US ONE REASON, JUST ONE! WHY WE SHOULD REMAIN ONE. OR ARE YOU BLIND TO SEE WHAT THE CHRISTIANS AND SOUTHERNERS ARE GOING THROUGH IN THE NORTH. ARE YOU IN SUPPORT OF GBOKO HARAM.

WHAT IS YOU POINT.

look your MARADONA skills are over, we are now MESSI. faster and more intelligent.

not a bad article.

"The fuel subsidy removal is the final straw. I've never seen such a massive loss of good will in so little time," Ogunlesi said.

ogunlesi, you don't know wat ur saying.

Turner says Nigerians "don't like to support their leaders" but need to give Jonathan time.

just the plain truth. that's why majority of them remain followers.they never grow to become leaders.

PALLIATIVE AS USED MEANS, THE PRICE AT N97 IS JUST TO EASE THE BURDEN ON THE MASSES, NOT THE SOLUTION. THE SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE SUBSIDY.

THEREFORE FOR THE COUNTRY TO SURVIVE, WE SHOULD BE EXPECTING A TOTAL REMOVAL SOON.

I know all these you have said, its like being between the devil and the deep blue sea. The truth is that we dont trust them especially GEJ. But i trust him call me what ever you like but i sincerely believe he will use use the subsidy money for something better. I prefer investing in future gains than burning it all now, cause am a business man. I hate to remember that the lagislator have such mind buggling allowances and the President cant really change that based on our constitution.
Yes Gov has let us down we dont trust them, but for us to move forward we MUST at some point give governemnt our trust. I have nothing against those protesting, they have the right and they may be right, but they may be wrong too. The crowd is not always right, especially if they are acting out of emotions.
What determins if they are right or wrong is what GEJ is able to do or deliver at the end of all this. Am more than happy to hear your views even if they are contrary to mine.
SECONDED.

if you carefully study the Nigerian economy you would notice how difficult it is to do business, this subsidy stuff has been the problem.
Nigerians have tried all types of business and they don't succed y? because the oil sector has refused to create a competative economy.  and nobody thinks about this
PoliticsRe: NLC/TUC & FG Fail To Reach Compromise: Strike Continues by oiseworld: 12:41am On Jan 15, 2012
SINCE GEJ DID NOT DIE AS A POOR FISHERMAN, WITHOUT NO SHOES, NIGERIANS WILL NOT DIE WITH FUEL AT N141K FOR JUST 2 YEARS OR LESS.

THIS PROTEST IS VERY UNFAIR TO THE NAIJA DELTANS WHO HAVE NEVER BOUGHT FUEL AT NOTHING LESS THAN N70, TO THE EASTERNERS WHO BUY FUEL AT CLOSE TO N200.

the ND's suffered the effect of oil pollution, corruption etc for over 30 years, wat is N141 for the rest of Nigerians to pay in just 2years or less.  we are very selfish in this country,

I have always had my reservation about BH been responsible for all the spate of bombings. These are bunch of silly illiterates that are not intelligent enough to make and detonate bomb successfully. The terror politicians should be brought to book.
but they do drive cars to blow up buildings.   that means they are not complitely illiterates, and they can detonate bombs.

i conclude by saying that members of boko haram have infiltrated NAIRALAND.  and they are doing a good job at turning Nigerians against each other.

minimium of 4 lifes have gone now over the protest,  NLC should have opted for just a strike and no protest,  see wat we've done to our fellow nigerian

pls give this team a chance, if you don't trust or believe in the govt you voted for, then who would you trust. and remember the situation of how GEJ became the president of this country, we all said it was God that sent him, does it mean we no longer trust God's Judgement. pls let's give them a chance.

you lack depths thinking and understanding of Nigeria and a  bit daf.t I must say

1. If a government keeps throwing money to building of refineries and it is still not built can we not ask where all the money has gone and who it was paid to ? Or what sort of mumu people do we have in the country that think based on sentiments ?

2. So you agree that there is corruption in the country right ? If there is then should we keep looking and do nothing about it just because it is Nigeria ? Or Nigeria was born of corruption right from the inception ? This is the sort of daf.t reasoning that has held Nigeria back 200 years behind some countries.

3. Every Nigerian know we need strong decision Yes but if the decision what keep the system to keep running then NO.

I think this is my last reply to you

You seem like a sentimental person that thinks the "Nigerian mentality" which we have been doing for 50 years and still you what people to keep thinking that way. Well sorry bros things are about to Change in Nigeria FOR THE BETTER.

If you think the statue quote would remain the same were people would be billionires within 4-5 years then I fell sorry for you.

Madueke the petrolum minister just bought a 20 MILLION EURO HOUSe IN AUSTRIA, where did she get the money from ? and why is she asking for the removal of subsidy now when things are not in place ?

Abeg bros or sister, go and sleep you are not thinking straight here
yes i tink i realy need to sleep, the GHANIAN borders are still opened, if you don't like subsidy removal, carry ur Ghana must go and leave.
GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
GOD BLESS PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN.
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal: President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech by oiseworld: 1:43am On Jan 08, 2012
see mumu oh!
govt after govt have come and the refineries are still where they are, do you think they've not released money towards fixing it, they still go behind to share the money.

your reply on that of the borders irritates me the most.

who should arrest who, in this corrupt country called Nigeria,  divided by religious, tribal, ethnic differences you think dis is London where people could just be arrested for offences ccommited you are joking

every NIGERIAN know we need strong decisions to move this country forward,  we've seen one now  we are complaining.

you can put curtains at the borders if you wish. or just say insted of sacking corrupt workers, all nigNigeriansould just migrate to another place since we all are corrupt.

pls think and understand things to the very depth, so you would know why decisions like this have to be taken.

1. you are thinking illogical here and I am sorry to say brainless

2.You do not even understand why there is protest and yet you come here to appear like a knowledgeable person

it seems after all the talk, shouting, teaching, lecture, protest, educating, directing, talking, etc people are doing, you still don't know why people are angry

1. Yes the system/ government is corrupt. In fact the country is socked in corruption

2. Yes subsidy has to go and everyone supports the FG for that

3. Before the removal of subsidy, build our refinery so we would not have this same issue in the future

4. proper security on our borders so smugglers aka the benefit thieves would not smuggle oil

5. Before removal of subsidy , CUT THE COST OF GOVERANCE. An average senator in Nigeria collects more than Obama the american president.

6. Now remove subsidy.

Other things people are protesting for because it was a build up of anger since 1970 and this was the opportunity for a revolution are

1. protest against corruption and the arrest of these people

2. protest against boko haram and killing of Christians/igbos

3. protest against the NEGLIGENT of the Niger-delta

My advice for you is to just keep shut if you are confused to what people are protesting against or don't know what to say. thanks

Your sort of mentality is the reason why Nigeria is still where it is today. No light, No security, No shelter, No good roads, No good water, No refinery even though we are oil producing, Total neglect of infrastructure, Total neglect of the Niger-delta, Total neglect of the Niger bridge, Total neglect of people dying in the North, Lack of accountability, Lack of credibility, Lack of industrial growth apart from Oil which the entire country is dependant on, Lack of economic growth apart from the telecommunication sector by OBJ
this is a post of an insane man.
num 1.2. on you list is good.
3. shows you are insane and have no iota of understanding in you. for your information those refineries have been dead since IBB regime, and all effort to resuscitate them were sabotaged by our ever corrupt brothers, friends. (we NIGERIANS) does that not tell you that the government can not build does refineries. with out the help of the private sector, and the private sector would not invest if in a none deregulated oil sector.

4. you are talking like you don't know Nigerians. all our security and immigration offices work their transfer to the borders to make more money for their pocket. people like you are the problems of this country, who would keep doing things the same way and expect a different result.
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal: President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech by oiseworld: 11:42pm On Jan 07, 2012
