The average man from the SW (not all of course) sees a hero in their own thief and will even hero-worship same villain but will be calling for the head of other people's thieves. Watch it play out in the comments section on this topic to understand my view.
Having said that, this guy would have been the best choice out of the Fulani-Fulani option we have in APC & PDP but the North won't vote him. We need young, educated and visionary federal leadership and not the recycling of the same old and atavistic gerontocracy we have been practicing since independence that has led us to nowhere
CelebritiesRe: DJ Cuppy Becomes m Ambassador For Save Children UK by okeniti: 4:42pm On Nov 28, 2018
Cuppy is the master of her own kingdom. Irrespective of her father's name, she still making her own mark for her OWN life. Looks/sounds easy but enough kids from "privileged" backgrounds abuse, don't know what to do or even worse do nothing with said privileges so fair play to the lass. More grease to her elbow.

RomanceRe: Help - My Relationship Is Threatened By Religious Differences by okeniti: 3:24pm On Nov 24, 2018
Without coming across as patronizing to you but the keywords is your first relationship. It's all very romantic only having ONE partner for life and sounds good in theory, but this rarely happens practically. With time, people move on geographically, mentally, spiritually (to some degree) and socially. What we do with our time arguably is the most precious thing in this world. Take it from me, waking up at 02:34AM with regrets not allowing you to sleep properly is not a nice feeling.

You need to ask yourself, if I could get the pros my boyfriend (with lesser of his cons) offers elsewhere what would stop me from going elsewhere? What am I getting from time spent in this relationship? Can I see growth and growing with this person? Also what are the people around him like?

Ask yourself those questions, eat a nutritious meal, sleep on it and go from there really to make your decision. This advice is not professional.

Waking up at 5AM, leave house at 5:45 so you can catch the bus for around 6:00AM going to Obalende through the Ikorodu Rd (witnessing fights at Fadeyi over N50 to car accidents to traffic on BRT lane to mention some things that happen daily at that time there)...

Just so you can reach the office on the Island before 8 as reaching office after 8 will incur late fine fun ara yin.

RIP. If these children are born to Nigerian parents abroad, are they Nigerian?
CrimeRe: Malcolm Mide-Madariola Stabbed To Death In London by okeniti: 4:49pm On Nov 05, 2018
It's been going on for time trust me, it's just that it's only making news. Why these stabbings are happening? Many reasons to it but how one is raised in Nigeria v UK is very very different, class does not even matter.

Bjergtrolde:
A disproportionate number of Nigerian kids are being stabbed in London of late. I wonder the reasons why.

BusinessRe: Piggybank Or Cowrywise by okeniti:
They are both good. Cowrywise is an investment app, whereas Piggybank is for savings. Piggybank has more features such as safelock, piggy points to name a few and the the interest rate is 10% per annum. Cowrywise I believe does not have all these features however the interest rate is from 10%-15%. And as Cowrywise is an investment, your returns are likely taxable.

I am not speaking from experience or expertise, this is just my opinion. Now you need to due diligence and further research both to make your decision, as only you can make such decisions. A Financial Advisor may come in handy.

All the best with your savings!
BusinessRe: Man Breaks His Piggy Bank After Saving For 10 Months & Saw This (Pics) by okeniti: 6:01pm On Nov 01, 2018
1) 300k divided by 10 months = 30k. Paying yourself first before bills is a good place to start, it's hard to tell from here how much saver earns so difficult to answer.
2) 300k over ten months is approximately 1k a day. You'll be amazed at what we spend money on when notes are taken. Someone who makes in from 1.5million smallest (net income, keyword net income) should be able to save the amount.
3) Valid point, but for convenience and cultural norms ease of access. Plus Nigeria and her bank charges.

nextstep:
This is commendable, but my people I have a few questions:

1. How do people save 300k in 10 months? This is after rent, transport, food, and other living expenses.
2. What kind salary allows you to save 300k? At least 3M yearly salary?
3. Why is this money not in a bank? Keeping this kind of cash at home is risky okwa ya?

You're right... that's what I thought at first... maybe it was supposed to be 30,600, but at least I'll give benefit of the doubt.

50k minimum. Higher wages generally leads to more spending power which results in better for economy.

Dudu Osun is also good for (Natural) Hair. That's what I use to wash my locs.
HealthRe: Share Your Experience With Natural Skin Care Remedies Here by okeniti: 6:40pm On Oct 31, 2018
1) Cold showers and use Dudu Osun for soap
2) Apply but not cake ori (shea butter) to skin
3) Unless it is freshly made juice (or the odd malt if i'm out, no alcohol or fizzy drinks or carton juices), only drink water
4) Watch sugar intake

Add all this to living in Africa with her sun which blesses the land, this is the perfect skin care routine.
PoliticsRe: We Will Not Take Part In Any Election Until We Get A Referendum-nnamdi Kanu by okeniti: 7:16pm On Oct 21, 2018
OK so Biafra is claiming South South. Who in South South is aligning with Biafra so how do you plan on getting leave votes? What of all the Igbo people who do not align with Biafra? And let's say you do win referendum. UK that is struggling with the negotiations, a whole UK what do you think the fate of Biafra doing leave negotiations with Nigeria would be?

Now for argument's sake, let's say with a Thanos snap of finger you break away from Nigeria. How will Biafra sustain herself? Who will recognise Biafra on the international community? How will you control your borders? How will you arm yourself? Finally, where does that leave the Igbo in Nigeria?

You are fighting a losing battle. Always remember when going got tough Ojukwu fled. Kanu did the same. History has a funny way of repeating itself. The fight based on emotion rarely ends well.

Jobs/VacanciesHow Do I Go About This Interview? by okeniti(op): 7:54am On Oct 09, 2018
Hello Nairaland,

I have been invited for a job interview in Abuja tomorrow. The role seems promising and if successful I would like to be there for a while but I am in Lagos and am unable to get to Abuja tomorrow. Is it okay to ask a prospective employer for a skype interview?

Any feedback, tips or advice is appreciated.

CareerRe: Should I Leave My N200k Job For Abroad Job? by okeniti:
My guy 200k+ job plus accomodation in Nigeria as a single man is would get you further than a job that pays "OK/Average" in the abroad. With your 200k, divide into four (assess your life and make percentages from that) and use for saving/investing/living costs/whatever you want. Plus here in Nigeria saving and investing comes with very favourable interest/tax rates which you can use to your advantage. But this is my opinion, you ultimately have to be the master of your own kingdom.

PS. You said you have potential business on side that is favourable. Along side 200k + accommodation. Many men wish to be you right now. My guy always remember the grass is not always greener in the abroad.

I Need Serious Advice On The Path To Tow

I am currently confused right now on what to do. I need advice.

I got this job that pays 200k+ a month plus a decent accommodation. Iam very good at my job and I have been planning on opening my own. As a matter of fact I have planned to start buying the equipments needed for the company by October. Although if everything goes as planned the company would begin operation by middle of next year. I also have the intention of combining my job and running the company(it's no big deal). However I ran into this sure link of getting a very high paid job abroad. The link is legit and very sure, all I have to do is accept and I will leave ASAP but my problem here is that my parents wokldolet me step out of the country cause I'm their only son. I needed the abroad job as it would boost my income and enable me achieve what I had planned. If I should follow my initial plan the company would run on a small scale. However, with the fund from the away job I could get enough money to go into full business.

Iam thinking of defying them and go ahead with the abroad plan. But one mind is telling me to hold onto my initial plan.

Please what do I do?

Ps I have already been offered the job abroad all I have to do is to accept it. And I don't have much time left.

I need sincere inputs
Negative comments are welcomed too
