Emotions can be a stumbling block to reason.

Will the stupid, dirty, ugly and intellectually inferior Yorobis(Yorubas) pursue a war against the whole of Nigeria and the great powers of the World? The answer is a big NO, since he his not full of himself and his judgement his not clouded by arrogance nor the believe that he his better and smarter than the rest of his black brothers
The stupid Yoruba knows from his little knowledge of history that no one people can take on the rest of the World in battle and win, never as it been done and I doubt it will ever be done, Hitler tried it and so did Napoleon and both failed.

The Biafran war was a no win situation right from the start, it was suicidal to say the least. Nigeria was able to get the support of almost all the African Countries, the Western powers with the exception of France and the the Soviet Union at a time of the cold war when the west and the Eastern block never supported the same Country, but this time they did support Nigeria. With all the odds stacked against Biafra, why did Ojuwju pursue with this suicidal mission? Arrogance can only be the answer. The believe in your own superiority over us, the slow and retarded people of the federal republic of Nigeria.

In typical Ojuwju arrogance he failed to realize Biafra will need food which normally comes from the North, weapons and medicine which couldn`t be secured without the help of the enemy or the great powers of the time, but when the stupid enemy refused to feed you unless you stopped fighting, you accuse him of genocide, I guess he should feed you so you can continue to fight him. Before going to war one as to think hard and plan well, it`s no joke. But the man was young, ambitious and full of arrogance and believe in the Igbo man`s superiority over the rest of us Nigerians.

May the soul of the innocent victims of that evil war rest in peace

Winston Churchill’s book “The River War,” about the Anglo-Egyptian campaign in Sudan in the 1890s. Among its many memorable passages is Churchill’s view of Islam. :

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property—either as a child, a wife, or a concubine—must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proseltyzing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science—the science against which it had vainly struggled—the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

List of people killed by Mohammed for making fun of him.

http://www.answeringinfidels.com/answering-infidels/answering-muslims/murdered-by-muhammad.html

The Case of Uqba bin Abu Mu’ayt

Of all the people killed by Muhammad, Uqba was among those most worthy of punishment. He ridiculed and tormented Muhammad while the latter was still in Mecca. Indeed, Uqba was so disrespectful that he once spit in Muhammad’s face,[5] and he later fought the Muslims at Badr. He is only listed here because of the particularly callous response that Muhammad gave him at his execution: “When the apostle ordered him to be killed Uqba said, ‘But who will look after my children, O Muhammad?’ ‘Hell,’ he said.”[6]

The Case of Ka’b bin al-Ashraf

When Ka’b heard of all the men who had been killed by Muslims at the Battle of Badr, he wept for the departed and composed a poem in memory of their good works. The Muslims responded with poetry of their own. One Muslim woman answered:

Would that those weltering in their blood

Could be seen by those who live between Mecca’s mountains!

They would know for certain and would see

How they were dragged along by hair and beard.[7]
After this, Ka’b wrote poetry against the Muslim women, and Muhammad subsequently called for his assassination:

The apostle said . . . “Who will rid me of Ibnu’l-Ashraf [Ka’b]?” Muhammad bin Maslama . . . said, “I will deal with him for you, O apostle of God, I will kill him.” [Muhammad] said, “Do so if you can.” . . . The apostle said, “All that is incumbent upon you is that you should try.” [The assassin] said, “O apostle of God, we shall have to tell lies.” He answered, “Say what you like, for you are free in this matter.”[8]

Muhammad bin Maslama, having received from Muhammad permission to lie, proceeded with his plan to murder Ka’b. The Muslims sent Silkan, a lover of poetry, to befriend Ka’b. Silkan and Ka’b spent some time reciting verses to one another, until the former asked a favor of his new friend. Silkan said that he and his companions wanted to buy some food from Ka’b and that he would put down a number of weapons as a pledge until payment could be made. He did this so that Ka’b “would not take alarm at the sight of weapons when they brought them.” The Muslims came later with their weapons and invited Ka’b to join them for a walk, and he gladly joined them.

[A]fter a time Abu Na’ila ran his hand through [Ka’b’s] hair. Then he smelt his hand, and said, “I have never smelt a scent finer than this.” They walked on farther and he did the same so that Ka’b suspected no evil. Then after a space he did it for the third time, and cried, “Smite the enemy of God!” So they smote him, and their swords clashed over him with no effect. Muhammad bin Maslama said, “I remembered my dagger when I saw that our swords were useless, and I seized it. Meanwhile the enemy of God had made such a noise that every fort around us was showing a light. I thrust it into the lower part of his body, then I bore down upon it until I reached his genitals, and the enemy of God fell to the ground.”[9]

The assassination of Ka’b had the desired effect: “Our attack upon God’s enemy cast terror among the Jews, and there was no Jew in Medina who did not fear for his life.”[10]

The Case of Ibn Sunayna

Ibn Sunayna was a Jewish merchant whose only crime seems to be that he was in town when the Muslims went on a killing spree:

The apostle said, “Kill any Jew that falls into your power.” Thereupon Muhayyisa bin Mas’ud leapt upon Ibn Sunayna, a Jewish merchant with whom they had social and business relations, and killed him. Huwayyisa was not a Muslim at the time though he was the elder brother. When Muhayyisa killed him Huwayyisa began to beat him, saying, “You enemy of God, did you kill him when much of the fat on your belly comes from his wealth?” Muhayyisa answered, “Had the one who ordered me to kill him ordered me to kill you I would have cut your head off.” He said that this was the beginning of Huwayyisa’s acceptance of Islam. The other replied, “By God, if Muhammad had ordered you to kill me would you have killed me?” He said, “Yes, by God, had he ordered me to cut off your head I would have done so.” He exclaimed, “By God, a religion which can bring you to this is marvelous!” And he became a Muslim.[11]

The Case of Mirba bin Qayzi

News of Muhammad’s victories and assassinations spread rapidly, and many people became angry at him. One such person was a blind man named Mirba bin Qayzi:
[The Muslims] came out in the territory of Mirba bin Qayzi who was a blind man, a disaffected person. When he perceived the approach of the apostle and his men he got up and threw dust in their faces saying, “You may be the apostle of God, but I won’t let you through my garden!” I was told that he took a handful of dust and said, “By God, Muhammad, if I could be sure that I should not hit someone else I would throw it in your face.” The people rushed on him to kill him, and the apostle said, “Do not kill him, for this blind man is blind of heart, blind of sight.” Sa’d bin Zayd . . . rushed at him before the apostle had forbidden this and hit him on the head with his bow so that he split it open.”[12]

In Muhammad’s defense, he did order his men not to kill Mirba. Nevertheless, the passage shows how quick the Muslims were to kill anyone who insulted Muhammad, and that they were growing accustomed to doing so. Further, we have no evidence that Muhammad so much as reprimanded Sa’d for bludgeoning the man.

The Case of the Qurayza Jews

The men of Qurayza resisted Muhammad and attempted to form an alliance against him. When the alliance faltered, Muhammad acted quickly. His armies surrounded them and “besieged them for twenty-five nights until they were sore pressed and God cast terror into their hearts.”[13] Muhammad selected Sa’d bin Mu’adh to decide their punishment, and al-Aus, an ally of Qurayza, agreed to let Sa’d choose the punishment. Sa’d declared that “the men should be killed, the property divided, and the women and children taken as captives.”[14]

Then they surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina. . . . Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. . . . There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken out in batches to the apostle they asked Ka’b what he thought would be done with them. He replied, “Will you never understand? Don’t you see that the summoner never stops and those who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!” This went on until the apostle made an end of them.[15]

Every male who had reached puberty was killed.[16] A woman named Bunanah was beheaded because she had dropped a millstone on one of Muhammad’s men.[17] Muhammad divided the women, children, and property among his men (taking a fifth of everything for himself). Some of the women were sold for horses and weapons, and Muhammad kept one of the captive women, Rayhana, for himself.[18]

The Case of Sallam Ibn Abu’l-Huqayq

The events surrounding the death of Sallam are interesting. Two tribes were competing with one another to see who could do the most for Muhammad:

One of the things which God did for His apostle was that these two tribes of the Ansar, Aus and Khazraj, competed the one with the other like two stallions: if Aus did anything to the apostle’s advantage Khazraj would say, “They shall not have this superiority over us in the apostle’s eyes and in Islam” and they would not rest until they could do something similar.[19]

The men of Aus had received the honor of assassinating Ka’b bin al-Ashraf, so the men of Khazraj longed to boast of a similar achievement. Hence, they went to Muhammad and asked for permission to murder Sallam Ibn Abu’l-Huqayq, and Muhammad granted their request.

When they got to Khaybar they went to Sallam’s house by night, having locked every door in the settlement on the inhabitants. Now he was in an upper chamber of his to which a ladder led up. They mounted this until they came to the door and asked to be allowed to come in. His wife came out and asked who they were and they told her that they were Arabs in search of supplies. She told them that their man was here and that they could come in. When we entered we bolted the door of the room on her and ourselves fearing lest something should come between us and him. His wife shrieked and warned him of us, so we ran at him with our swords as he was on his bed. . . . When we had smitten him with our swords Abdullah bin Unays bore down with his sword into his belly until it went right through him.”[20]

The Case of Kinana bin al-Rabi

Muhammad and his men conquered a town called Khaybar and distributed its riches and women among themselves.[21] They captured Kinana bin al-Rabi, who was in charge of the treasure of one of the conquered tribes. Muhammad demanded the treasure, but Kinana refused to tell him where it was hidden.

When [Muhammad] asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam, “Torture him until you extract what he has,” so he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then the apostle delivered him to Muhammad bin Maslama and he struck off his head, in revenge for his brother Mahmud [who had been killed in battle while conquering the town].[22]

The Case of an Anonymous One-Eyed Shepherd

After failing at one of their assassination attempts, some Muslims were returning to Muhammad when one of them, an assassin named Amr, went into a cave. He soon encountered a one-eyed shepherd driving a sheep. The one-eyed man laid beside Amr (not realizing that he was a Muslim) and began to sing:

I won’t be a Muslim as long as I live,

Nor heed to their religion give.[24]

Amr didn’t miss his chance to kill an infidel:

I said (to myself), “You will soon know!” and as soon as the badu was asleep and snoring I got up and killed him in a more horrible way than any man has been killed. I put the end of my bow in his sound eye, then I bore down on it until I forced it out at the back of his neck.[25]

A couple of other people were killed during this failed expedition, yet when Amr reported the details to Muhammad, the Prophet blessed him for his work.[26]

The Case of Abu Afak

Abu Afak, saddened because Muhammad had killed someone named al-Harith, composed the following song in memory of the departed:

Long have I lived but never have I seen

An assembly or collection of people

More faithful to their undertaking

And their allies when called upon

Than the sons of Qayla when they assembled,

Men who overthrew mountains and never submitted.

A rider who came to them split them in two (saying)

‘Permitted’, ‘Forbidden’ of all sorts of things.

Had you believed in glory or kingship

You would have followed Tubba.[27]

These words were too much for Muhammad to bear, so the Prophet of Islam flew into a rage that ended with the death of Abu Afak.[28]

The Case of Asma

A woman named Asma (who had five sons) was appalled at the murder of Abu Afak, so she wrote a poem against the Muslims in retaliation. Ibn Ishaq relates the account of what followed:

When the apostle heard what she had said he said, “Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?” Umayr bin Adiy al-Khatmi who was with him heard him, and that very night he went to her house and killed her. In the morning he came to the apostle and told him what he had done and he said, “You have helped God and His apostle, O Umayr!” When he asked if he would have to bear any evil consequences the apostle said, “Two goats won’t butt their heads about her,” so Umayr went back to his people.[29]

The Case of Abdullah bin Khatal and His Two Singing Girls

Abdullah bin Khatal was a Muslim who later apostatized. He had two singing girls who sang satirical songs about the Prophet. As soon as Muhammad had the power, he ordered that all three be killed. Abdullah was killed by two Muslims. One of the singing girls was killed. The other was later given immunity, for unknown reasons.[30]

The Case of al-Huwayrith

All that is known of al-Huwayrith is that he insulted Muhammad, that Muhammad demanded he be killed, and that Ali carried out Muhammad’s wishes.[31]

The Case of Sara, a Freed Slave

Sara was a freed slave who had insulted Muhammad in Mecca. Muhammad commanded his men to kill her wherever they find her. She was eventually found and trampled to death by a mounted soldier.[32]

Assessment

Muhammad ordered the murders of numerous people, often because they had insulted him years earlier or written poems against Islam, and he permitted lying as long as it would lead to the deaths of his enemies. He also commanded that apostates be killed.[33] Muhammad’s followers murdered both men and women, including a blind man, and they beheaded hundreds of Jews who had surrendered to the Muslims.

Of course, these assassinations and executions do not necessitate the conclusion that Muhammad was a bloodthirsty tyrant, as is often claimed about him in Christian and Jewish writings. As I have previously stated, Muhammad also performed many kind and noble deeds, and he forgave many who fought against him. However, while Muhammad probably wasn’t as bad as some of his critics now claim, neither was he nearly as good as his admirers claim. As Thomas Lippman has noted,

It seems safe to say that Muhammad was sincere, dedicated, courageous, generous, compassionate, and committed to social justice and reform. The uncritical admiration of him that one hears from ordinary Muslims, however, overlooks the evidence that the Prophet was also sometimes vengeful, spiteful, and duplicitous. He was, after all, human and ambitious too.[34]

The completely gentle, infinitely forgiving, perfectly merciful Prophet who is proclaimed in Muslim writings simply never existed. The historical Muhammad bears more resemblance to the above passage from Lippman. Yet if Muslims truly believe that Muhammad was the most wonderful moral example in history, they should embrace all of his actions, not just the ones that fit in with the Christian morality that has been advanced in the West. In Islamic thought, Muhammad is the standard with which everyone else is to be compared; that is, whatever Muhammad did is, by definition, moral. If another standard of comparison is introduced, Islamic belief falls to pieces. For instance, when Muslims try so desperately to explain away Muhammad’s atrocities, they are attempting to show that Muhammad fits in with Christian moral standards. But such an attempt is absurd. Muhammad killed countless people (torturing many of them), robbed people, married thirteen women (one of them a juvenile), took part in the slave trade, and permitted women to be beaten by their husbands.[35] When he is judged by the standards laid down by Jesus, Muhammad fails miserably. Thus, when Muslims find themselves defending the moral character of Muhammad, they may be doing so because they find the moral standards of Jesus more compelling than the moral standards of Muhammad, and they may be consciously or unconsciously trying to replace the spotted life of Muhammad with the spotless life of Jesus. If so, it is time for Muslims to look to a different messenger, one who is truly worthy of our admiration, praise, reverence, and worship.

My take on this is based on facts. With all the canning and beating Nigerians have been dishing out to their kids since time immemorial, why are we so much more corrupt, violent and undisciplined than most countries where they don`t beat their kids. The germans, Scandinavians and many others don`t beat their kids, they talk to them. Today it is given that a german or scandinavian person will more than likely follow a rule and a Nigerian more likely to break that same rule. If we look at the two styles, I think it becomes obvious which one works better. Violence is never an option, we have to put to bed the circle of violence. Child abuse can`t continue to be masked as discipline.

Re: The Role of "Resource Control" and Restructuring in the Political Economy of Nigeria By Ibrahim Ado-Kurawa

By

Femi Awoniyi

Speyer, Germany

Anytime the racist-supremacist Fulani Oligarchy is jittery we must be prepared for trouble. The last time they inflicted a civil war on Nigeria, unleashing a season of violence, on a scale never seen before in our history, on our land. Fulanis spare no weapons in battle and hence it is not surprising that they are making appeal to Islam in their desperate efforts to weaken Yoruba nationalism.

The article, "The Role of "Resource Control" and Restructuring in the Political Economy of Nigeria", whose content bears very little semblance to its title makes amusing, albeit a difficult reading. My advice to Ado-Kurawa, obviously an over-excited young advocate for the Fulani supremacy, is to desist from the unscholarly habit of abusing facts, because it amounts to crime against public opinion.

It is always difficult to inhabit the same plane of logic with a Fulani hence you can hardly argue with him. On the one hand Ado-Kurawa disparages ethnic politics and on the other, he repeatedly mentions what the "North" must do to keep together! He would attack Afenifere and Ohaneze and describe the South-South or Niger Delta nationalism as misled, but he would swear that Northern unity is unbreakable!

Ado-Kurawa wrote: "The Southwest with its concealed but deeply rooted internal division can never be a viable entity outside Nigeria. Without Nigeria the oppressed Muslim majority will struggle to assert its rights of self-identity now swept under the carpet because any agitator will be a ready prey of Afenifere blackmail."

How can a sane person claim that Muslims are oppressed in Yorubaland? And I would not be drawn into a debate over the relative strength of Muslim and Christian populations in Yorubaland.

Until now Yorubas have been the main scapegoat of Fulani frustration with his inability to control power like he used to do. Since Obasanjo became president, irrespective of the issue at stake, Fulani commentators don’t miss an opportunity to take a swipe at Yorubas. Be it on "Education in the North", NNPC exploration policy, whatever, Yorubas must be depicted as the enemy. Wada Nas, the Joseph Goebbel of the Fulani establishment, even went over the tops to describe Yorubas as a "Godless people" last year in an article published on gamji.com. This writer was forced to send a protest writing to the publisher of the website.

Of recent, it seems Fulani politicians, intellectuals (if you can call them that) and journalists seem to have suddenly discovered a new weapon in their perpetual battle against peace, stability and social progress in Nigeria; Islam in Yorubaland.

While they are still going around the Christian North pleading that "Northerners" must unite and keep the dubious heritage of the fascist-sectionalist Ahmadu Bello alive, they are, at the same time, coming to Yorubaland to appeal to Muslims there to remain united against Christians in Nigeria.

That is classic Fulani politics of divide and rule!

Yet, in times of violent crisis in the Fulani-ruled North, to ensure that no Yoruba there is spared, Muslims among them are systematically degraded by Fulani imams and journalists into "unbelievers" to make them legitimate target of "sacred terror".

During the anti-American Kano riots, last November, a Yoruba Muslim butcher, Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawore from Offa, Kwara State, was literally cut down in cold blood by his Fulani and Hausa colleagues with whom he said daily prayers and with whom he worshipped in the same Mosque while Alfa Ali Dawodu, a Quranic teacher from Epe, Lagos State, was killed by his neighbours.

So much for Muslim solidarity.

In earlier articles, Ado-Kurawa did not discriminate in his negative reference to Yorubas. For example, in "im Light in the Dark Tunnel: The Northern Gas Pipeline Project", he blamed Yoruba technocrats in the country’s petroleum industry for advising against further prospecting for hydrocarbon deposits in the North. Yet among the most prominent technocrats are Muslims such as Dr Ahmed Onabule, key expert on refining, Dr Lekan Oyekan (junior brother of Alhaja Latifa Okunnu), former director of petroleum inspectorate in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, and Dr Dare Bademosi, popularly called Nigeria’s gas Tsar.

How oppressed are Muslim Yorubas?

Frontline traditional rulers in Yorubaland who are Muslims include Alhaji Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alafin of Oyo, Alhaji Iyiola Oyewale Matanmi, the Ataoja of Oshogbo, Alhaji Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland and Alhaji Mustapha Olanipekun, the Oloffa of Offa.

Mr Ado-Kurawa, please can you name a single Hausa Emir of a prominent town in Hausaland today?

Out of the 7 Yoruba-dominated states in Nigeria, four of them have Muslim governors; Senator Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, Oyo, Chief Abdulkarim Bisi Akande, Oshun, and Alhaji Mohammed Alabi Lawal of Kwara. The deputy governor of Ogun State, Alhaji Sefiu Gbenga Kaka, is also a Muslim. In fact, in Oyo and Oshun states the speakers are also Muslims; Alhaji Asimiyu Alarape and Alhaji Mojeed Alabi respectively. And in the past, we have had a situation where both the governor and his deputy have been Muslims like in Lagos. For example, during the second republic, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Alhaji Rafiu Jafojo were the governor and deputy governor respectively of Lagos.

In Oyo and Oshun States, in which the late Chief Bola Ige, a Christian, was said to have single-handedly chosen the gubernatorial candidates of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999, two Muslims were put forward. In the nomination for Lagos, Funsho Williams, a Christian, a supposedly more popular candidate in the state’s AD, lost the party’s primaries because the Afenifere leadership, allegedly "dominated by Christians", preferred a Muslim, Ahmed Tinubu.

A bit further into history. During the political crisis, sponsored by the sectional Ahmadu Bello’s NPC, in the defunct Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the "Christian-dominated Action Group" removed Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, a Christian, and replaced him with Alhaji Dauda Adegbenro, a Muslim.

Who betrayed Alhaji Moshood Abiola in Yorubaland? They were prominent Muslims like him; Alhaji Azeez Arisekola Alao, Dr Lateef Adegbite and Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu. While Yoruba Christians like Chief Alfred Rewane laid down their lives, and numerous others like Bishop Bolanle Gbonigi, Chiefs Abraham Adesanya, Ayo Adebanjo, Olanihun Ajayi and the late Chief Ige risked theirs for him. Of course I must not fail to mention gallant Muslims like Alhaja Suliat Adedeji who was killed for her support for Abiola, and Alhaji Adesina for his firm support for Abiola’s mandate even at a risk to his live.

Abiola is on record to have donated generously to support the construction of many churches in Yorubaland and beyond and Chief Bode Akindele, a Christian, has also helped build several mosques in Oyo State, to mention a few example. In fact in most Yoruba towns, Obas irrespective of their religious affiliation attend both Muslim and Christian celebrations.

Can you beat that when you talk of enlightened religious tolerance and high-culture civilisation?

Yoruba society makes a textbook example for the peaceful co-existence of adherents of Islam and Christianity in the whole world.

The lesson is that religious difference is not an issue among Yorubas.

However, the Fulani Oligarchy is fighting to introduce religious disharmony into Yorubaland. They sponsored the Pro-Osama bin Laden protest in Ibadan last November and seeing that the Yoruba political elite were too busy fighting among themselves to react, they upped the scale. The next protest they bankrolled two weeks later, in Oshogbo, was more violent; 15 church buildings were set ablaze and a Christian Yoruba was murdered. Of course, the whole Islamic establishment in Yorubaland rose to condemn the mindless act of violence but it does not seem to understand the motive behind it hence it is still to take the necessary measures to expose the agents of Sokoto Caliphate in organisations like the so-called National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO) led by one Isiaka Sanni, who were behind the two incidents.

The current attempt to weaken Yoruba nationalism by seeking to create a distinct Muslim Yoruba political view-point must be situated within the role which Islam played in the ascendancy of Fulanis to political power in Nigeria.

Islam has been the justification for Fulani power in their empire in Northern Nigeria. The Sultan and Emirs are after all supposed to be the "Leaders of the Faithful"! Shehu Othman dan Fodio and the other Fulanis who overthrew the Hausa states in the 19th century did it with the help of Muslim Hausas who resented their rulers and believed in the just order which Fulani Muslims would impose after their victory.

(These wars, waged to bring Hausaland and other territories and the peoples inhabiting them under Fulani control, is still fraudulently referred to as "Jihad" in history books until today. But they were no Jihad, but treacherous wars fought over power and territory.)

Hence, it should not be surprising that Fulanis are going ‘back to the basics’, which is Islam, in their present battle to retain their privileged position in Nigeria.

The current attempt will fail, but Yoruba politicians must wake up to nip the Fulani-sponsored seed of discord in the bud. Israel has not been able to divide Palestinians along religious lines, hard as it has tried in the past 50 years. Therein lies the sure hope that the Fulani Oligarchy will fail in its devilish endeavour to divide a determined nation like the Yorubas’.

In conclusion:

For how long would the Fulani Oligarchy be able to deflect the massive resentment among Hausas over Fulani privilege in the direction of non-Muslims, Yorubas, Igbos, or what have you, away from its legitimate target?

For how long would Fulanis be able to uphold their privileges in Nigeria and hold down the Hausas and their other subordinate peoples in the North?

For how long must the rest of us suffer for the Fulani oppression of Hausa people?

For how long can Fulanis keep the yearnings of Hausas bottled-up ?

For how long would Fulanis be able deceive the whole world?

Footnotes: On Lateef Adegbite and the OPC

Adegbite is the secretary-general of the so-called Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the instrument of the Sokoto Caliphate to manipulate Islam in Nigeria for the entrenchment of Fulani hegemony in our polity. The "Sultan of Sokoto" is the permanent chairman of the hypocritical body.

Adegbite, who is also the Baba Adinni of Egbaland, made a speech recently to Muslim youths in Oshogbo in which he warned OPC Oduduwa Republicans to desist from their activities because Yoruba Muslims would not abandon their brothers in faith in the North. He then appealed to the youths to "educate the generality of the Muslims on this preposterous Yoruba agenda." The Egba man was only being mischievous and the unfortunate statement could only be interpreted to mean a message to his masters in Sokoto, reassuring them of his loyalty.

Adegbite is known to be a nuisance hence he was largely ignored on the speech. Adegbite has no credibility in Abeokuta, his birthplace, talk less in Yorubaland. And he is not in a position to speak on behalf of Yoruba Muslims. Bola Ajibola, an Egba prince and Muslim leader, has done much more for Egba Muslims than Adegbite. And Ajibola is not a member of "Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs".

Adebgite is one of the greatest enemies of Islam in Yorubaland and his actions weaken the faith of Muslim believers in the region. For people like him, Islam is not a faith, but a means to acquire wealth by pandering to his Sokoto lords. He is in the league of people like the notorious Arisekola Alao, Lamidi Adedibu and Sanni who peddle their belief for money and juicy business and employment opportunities for themselves and their families.

When Abiola, a fellow Egba Muslim leader and the Baba Adinni of Yorubaland, who during his lifetime was vice president of "Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs", was incarcerated unjustly and was denied the mandate the Nigerian people gave him in 1993, what did Adegbite do? What the did "Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs" do? Nothing! "Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs" was even a conspiratorial party to the annulment of the June 12 election.

Adegbite kept the silence of a coward while Christian Yorubas put their lives on the line for Abiola. When Yoruba Muslims were murdered in the North in the last two years nothing was heard from him.

On Ilorin, Adegbite forgets that the advocates in Ilorin are also Muslims, chief among whom is Alhaji Olola Kasumu. He even forgets that Ganiyu Adams is also a Muslim. What qualifies him to speak for Yoruba Muslims but disqualifies Ganiyu Adams?

@Fornorth, The bad bad habits of western education brought the internet, which gave u the opportunity to write this poo. Without western education there will be no cars, planes, electricity, phone, cure for polio, malaria, human rights, end of slavery and so many great things that we all take for granted in this modern World.

Have you ever given it a thought that the reason you are a muslim and a believer in the teachings of Mohamed is only because of your parent and your environment, where you were force fed with Islamic dogma for hours, every day, for years and years. If u were raised by an Hindu family who believed in cows as being sacred, that would be your believe. L

Try and think outside the box, not all we were told as kids is the truth. Living in the way of the Holy Quran is what I call a bad habit, passed on from generation to generation. Lets strive to be better than past generations before us instead of emulating their past mistakes.

I commend Mr President on this giant step, but is it the right step? I don`t think so, I believe the system of Almajiri education should be scrapped for secular education where they are given the skills necessary to survive in this modern World. Learning the Quran will not achieve this but will rather perpetuate the brain washing of our youth in religious dogma of the dark ages, where humanity is divided into two camps of believers and non believers, who are for ever at war with each other until the day islam is victorious and rules the World.

The Usman Danfodio`s white flag of jihad being passed on to the next generation, with Niger Delter oil money. Allah truely is great and Mohamed must surely be is last messenger. Allahu akba.

Northern Nigeria desperately needs an Ataturk to free it from the shackles of religion.

@Dede1, What led to the civil war had nothing to do with the fear of Igbo domination, the second coup took care of that domination by killing the supreme commander, Gen Ironsi. The war was all about two mens ego, Gowan and Ojuwku. But Rather unfortunately millions had to die because of this power struggle. They say when two Elephants fight it`s the grass that suffers.

We in the SW want another state, to be called Ife state and Ile Ife as the capital. We don`t care if the state is sustainable or not as long as we have enough money to pay the politicians and have the same number of states as everyone. Trickle down economics isn`t what we want, we only care about tribal equality based on state creation. Anyone against this proposal must hate Yoruba people.

If equality is based on each region having the same number of states  as expressed by some Igbo`s, y did the East not advocate being split into two when the old western region was split to create the Midwest? I guess letting go of the oil producing areas would have been too much.

It would be great if Nigerians can reason without being clouded by Ethnic sentiment.

@Jarus, I commend you for your effort in defending Mallam Sanusi, but honestly I can`t see anything in all this sweet write ups where his shown any concern for the millions of poor voiceless Almajiri kids roaming the North begging for food, I have not seen anything  calling a spade a spade. Which means telling the Northern elites they have regressed from their responsibilities since the death of the great Saudana of Sokoto.

If Sanusi means well for the Talakawas then he  should be at the forefront  fighting to get the North educated so they can fill most of the positions being filled by Southerners in their own back yard. The great Saudana predicted this scenario, that if the lack of educational and job opportunities in the North is not addressed, allowing Southerners to take jobs that should be filled by Northerners, it will bring social discontent, which is what we are having in the North today. With all the years of leadership by Northern leaders they still have not been able to educate and enlighten the average Northerner.

Sanusi is more concerned sharia and the power struggle between the Northern elites and their Southern counterparts. He wants more money for his Northern friends to steal. Sanusi is the CBN governor because of his ties to the Fulani ruling class.
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze Queries Cbn’s N100m Donation To Boko Haram Victims by okunoba(m): 5:52am On Feb 17, 2012
@Hercules 07, CBN money belongs to all not just Muslims or Northerners, church money belongs to the Church, same goes for commercial Banks. If Sanusi wants to give Nigerian money to victims of terrorism it should not be one sided where he gives to victims from his state and ignores those from other states. T

his World will be a better place if we see other peoples pain not just ours. CBN money belongs to all not just your kin and State.
PoliticsRe: Clinton: Poverty Helping Fuel Violence In Nigeria by okunoba(m): 5:27am On Feb 17, 2012
@Hercules 07, Sanusi wants more money for Northern states that is never spent on development but shared amongst the feudal lords of the North, of which he his a part of, Clinton on the other hand wants a more equal distribution of wealth, where money meant for the people is spent on development.

The Igbo states with no oil get less than Northern states yet they don`t go about killing the innocent based on religion or ethnicity. Since the end of Biafra the Igbo`s have been marginalized and get less of the National cake than any region  yet today they have the least level of poverty in the country. If the North is poorer than the South East its because their leaders are the worst thieves who don`t give a damn about the Talakawas, it doesn`t matter how much u give to these States, it never trickles down to the poor masses of the North. Wanting more money for the North is just asking for more money for the Northern elites to share among themselves.

I grew up seeing Northern baggers in SW Nigeria even when they where getting more allocation money than the rest of the Country due to fictitious population count.  I never saw anyone from the east beg, even after the war when they lost everything they had worked for in many parts of the Country. The North needs to learn from Ndigbo and the rest of Southern Nigeria, the art of hard work and determination to succeed instead of depending on hand outs.

Sanusi needs to start fighting to get his people educated and enlightened instead of promoting sharia, Islam and asking for more hand outs for his feudal gang members to steal. The Holy Quran or begging  will not develop the North, only education and hard work will.
PoliticsRe: Clinton: Poverty Helping Fuel Violence In Nigeria by okunoba(m): 7:47pm On Feb 16, 2012
@Jarus, To solve the problem facing Nigeria we have to be honest and willing to take criticism.

Mallam Sanusi did not mention poverty, what he said was that the reduction of revenue allocation for Northern states was the main cause of Boko Haram, meaning reduction in the money available for Northern leaders to steal hence they have resulted to violence, but Clinton on the other hand is talking of the gap between the rich and poor especially in Northern Nigeria being a cause for concern.

Sanusi is only interested in protecting the interest of the rich and powerful Northerners who have made their people the poorest Nigerians. Saludo said it the way it should be said, Northern leaders have failed their people and are the ones responsible for the high level of ignorance and poverty eating away at the average Northerner who as no future other than to beg or be a Boko to survive. People like Sanusi have kept the North poor, ignorant and violent. They refuse to educate or teach their people the skills necessary to survive in this modern World, but fought to force feed them sharia, turning potential great minds to zombies ready to be used to fight for the interest of these feudal lords.

Who is going to speak up for these poor voiceless Northern kids who nobody seems to care about, when will the northern leaders start to educate and enlighten these abused Almajiri kids, instead of only brain washing them with religious dogma of the dark ages?

@kingoflag, U obviously find it difficult reading. I suggest u go back to my reply. I do not subscribe to either Islam or Christianity because I see both as the slave masters religion, but if I have to choose it sure wont be Islam, the most intolerant religion in the World. Tell me of any other religion that believe in killing for leaving it?But we all know Islam does. Get real brov.  Reason is beyond those that refuse to question dogma of the dark ages.

@Ndu Chucks, I guess you have run out of any thing tangible to write, so u have resulted to sarcasm. Why do u pity me? could it be because I do not believe in Islamic dogma of the dark ages, passed on from one ignorant generation to the next. Sad that the younger generation that should know better are still stuck in the past. Don`t pity me brov, I am no prisoner to dogma that as kept the North so backward. I pray for the day when my brothers across the Niger will abandon Islam and embrace the goodness in humanity.

Thanks for the sympathy, but I think u need to save that for the voiceless and oppressed Almajiris. Today they might be killing their brothers down south, but trust me very soon they will realize u the Northern elites are the problem. Giving them sharia but no education or any skill, how do u expect them to compete in the modern World? What have you done or doing to make life better for these poor souls? U will rather have them hail you branka dede, while they have to beg for food. People like you are the problem of the black race.
