orisa37:How do you mean? Expatiate further. |
orisa37:We can therefore justifiability take his continued silence as an admittance of guilt. There are times when silence is not golden. |
nanya124:I just don't know what's happening to many of these so-called Anti-corruption crusaders. CACOL (Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders) were the first to raise alarm on Fashola's WEBSITE and Borehole scandal only for them to go to sleep after the initial gragra. Why do they normally start what they can't finish or are they all-out for self-gratification? |
egalitarian78:Many thanks for the compliments. Moreover, articles of this nature (here on Nairaland or elsewhere) are not for self-serving purposes but one's contribution toward making Nigeria a better place for all of us. Whether the people from other side of the divide agree with us or not is inconsequential. We will continue to propagate the truth no matter whose ox is gored. Once again, thanks. |
Junior66:If that's so, then Nigeria is in a serious fix. |
obailala:What's wrong with you dude and who prophesied to you about my problem? Why do you go about making satanic assumptions about people's lives and personalities? Can you quote any of my posts where I accused Buhari of not assigning projects to the south in the ongoing budget debacle? Get sense bro and wash yourself from the splash of childishness. And for those who covetously corner other people's entitlements for their personal use, it's nothing but stupidity and vanity. Veer off my lane. |
Junior66:That's why all concerned Nigerians (including the NLC, social crusaders, political activists, SERAP, CACOL etc) have to speak up now. |
President Buhari, according to many Nigerians who reposed (and still exude) so much confidence in his anti-corruption postures is a man of integrity. It was on that premise, reasonably or not that millions of citizens trooped out enmass to cast their votes for him and his party, the APC in the March 2015 presidential election. Eleven months on the saddle post-inauguration, a lot has indeed taken place under this towering figure seen as the trailblazer for a modern-day corruption-free Nigeria that has indeed made many tongues to wag. One of such happenings was the secret and unofficial recruitment that took place in the CBN involving children and relatives of members of the ruling class. Looking at the vigour and intensity with which the President and the EFCC have been pursuing the Dasukigate offenders, one would have expected that by now heads should have rolled in droves at the apex bank in one of the scandals that portend grave danger not only for the Federal Character provisions of our Constitution but one that has potential to rub mud on the anti-corruption garment of Buhari and his government. What should really call for our concern and serious attention was the criminal nature of the recruitment whereby names of the employees were manipulated and distorted to coverup their true identities and those of their parents. If such brazen act of criminality does not attract the attention of Mr. President and his anti-corruption agencies, we may now begin to redefine what truly stands as corruption in Nigeria. For a president that ordered immediate sack of those involved in the budget padding saga, sweeping the CBN recruitment scandal under the carpet as if nothing untoward had happened should be a cause of worry for those who truly love Nigeria. If the anti-corruption drive of Buhari's administration is truly holistic and non-selective as the president and his media aides make us to believe, Mr. President as a matter of urgency, should forward the names of all those involved in the CBN recruitment scandal to the EFCC for immediate prosecution. In the same vein, all the employees involved should be summarily dismissed for sanity to reign in the CBN and public sector at large. Anything short of that will continue to cast a shadow on Mr.President's integrity status and genuine fight against corruption. CC: Lalasticlala. |
GOATandYAMtheory:Yes, including Buhari. |
obailala:Good day too! Many thanks for been bereft of ideas and unable to counter salient points raised in my last post. We say things on Nairaland with facts and precision. OK? |
obailala:Oh! You now see the "victory" of Buhari in the last election and subsequent appointment of Lai Mohammed as minister of (mis)information as an imitable template on how to play dirty politics in Nigeria? Now I can truly decipher your personality even without setting eyes on you. If you care to know; the victory of the wicked is temporary. Didn't Abacha successfully outsmart MKO Abiola and Ernest Shonekan to become a military junta? How did he end in 1998? And as a point of correction my children and I would never, I repeat, would never take after Lai Mohammed's ways of life both in politics and other spheres of life. I am not a tribal jingoist neither did I support cancelation of projects earmarked for any part of the country but as regards Calabar-Lagos rail, it was a smokescreen intended to ridicule the National Assembly by a crafty president (executive). It was an afterthought meant to score cheap political point, shore up Buhari's battered image and set the masses against the legislators. Be informed accordingly. |
obailala:You're the one who has certainly chosen not to grow up going by series of myopia and deceits displayed when positing your arguments on Nairaland. Anyway, direct your advice on when not to play politics (with everything) to Lai Mohammed and APC. They established the norm of playing politics with even the blood of Nigerians. If you're short of memory, pick your phone and google APC press statements in the last two years. |
obailala:You've started your beautiful nonsense again. Why is Apc DNA so compatible with yours. A thread was created reminding Nigerians how Gbajabiamila and APC tried fruitlessly to frustrate the passage of 2014 budget and you're here talking jazz about Calabar-Lagos rail project which was never in the budget proposal sent to the NA by Buhari. Why are you so mischievous in character? If the rail project was so dear to Buhari why was it not included in the initial budget proposal? Stop spreading falsehood on Nairaland. |
Pls, let someone technically call Lai Mohammed. This is technically urgent. |
rusher14:Nobody ever said Dasukigate is mere propaganda. Nobody does but we have consistently said the money was spent on 2015 elections in the same way Ameachi, Fashola, Okorocha and other APC governors allegedly spent their security votes and other funds in bringing Buhari to power. Let Buhari and APC leadership raise their hands to heavens and swear by their lives that state funds were not used in the 2015 presidential and other elections. Hypocrisy and satanism is when you prosecute only PDP offenders but leaves the rogues in your party who committed same offences to go scot free. Meanwhile, why is Jafaru Isa (Buhari's ally who allegedly refunded part of Dasukigate) not prosecuted? Hmmmm, APC and Buhari, make we just dey look. |
antispexish:If truly you can't see any manifestation of Jonathan's developmental strides in the last five years, it's either you are blind or completely taken over by the spirit of lies. Even Fashola attested to the fact that Jonathan constructed most roads than his predecessors. That's just one of the manifestations. Those rail gauges been launched by Amaechi were the works left behind by Jonathan. What of the massive investment in Agriculture and Power? Even Audu Ogbe and Fashola laid credence to that too. I won't waste my time belaboring this issue; let our consceince judge accordingly. |
LadyExcellency:God bless you. Good points. |
LadyExcellency:God bless you. Good points. |
modath:Ignoring your kind of stupid post would have been the most preferable option but it's a disservice to commonsense if that's done. Which 52% were you expecting the FG to save from? Should the FG opt to save money at the expense of executing its developmental projects and fulfilling other financial obligations? Should they keep money aside and allow Boko haram to subdue the entire country? Should they be saving money and allow the nation to be grounded because of inability to meet fuel marketers' subsidy demand? Even if there's no corruption, the 52% FG share can't solve the numerous problems facing the nation in the areas of road construction, health care delivery, security services, salaries etc. No matter what Soludo or any other sycophants say, the bulk of the blames goes to the greedy governors (led by long throated Ameachi) who held the FG by the jugular thereby forcing the later to deplete the ECA. Let's be sincere in our comments. |
dulux07:That's idiotic. Neither GEJ nor Dasuki had owned up to arms funds diversion either. Don't quote me again because I won't bother to reply your foolery. |
dulux07:Stop been fooled by Buhari and his alarmist party. Money meant for Arms procurement was used for that purpose. The funds under investigation were used for political purposes just the way Ameachi and other APC governors allegedly used their respective state funds to sponsor Buhari's election. Period. |
Fayose's anti-$2b loan stance is a child's play compared to how APC almost pulled down Nigeria in their quest for the presidency. For those who are short in memory, pls consider the following; 1. APC instructed legislators elected under their party to block Jonathan's $1b loan request to fight Boko haram. 2. APC governors vehemently opposed Jonathan's ingenuity to save for rainy days by going as far as the Supreme Court to stop the ECA. 3. APC openly opposed designation of Boko haram as a terrorist organisation. That singular action embolden the insurgents to wreck more havoc. It was a height of sabotage any opposition party could unleash on a nation it planned to rule. 4. APC in connivance with Jacob Zuma who's a staunch ally of Tinubu and Atiku ensured Nigeria's quest to procure arms from South Africa through black market (having been frustrated by the West through official route) was truncated. 5. Still loading... more to come. |
This is one of the reasons Saraki is fighting for his dear life and if care is not taken, just like Baraje predicted, the end of Buhari's govt may takeoff from Saraki's travail. No politician goes down without a dirty fight. OBJ vs ATIKU is a case study. |
OP, ordinarily, threads like this should be disregarded dispassionately but ignoring your foolishness is a threat to the growth of this nation. Okonjo Iwela was referring to the political class (mostly APC governors) who vehemently opposed Jonathan's Excess Crude Account to the extent of even dragging the FG to Supreme Court. Twisting her innocent comment to satisfy your satanic intention (probably to shore up Buhari/APC's image) is a crime for which God will punish you. Continue to spread mischief on Nairaland but your day of recompense from the Creator is at hand. |
EnergyWA:The last adminstration started the renegotiation process after the initial cancelation. Can't you people learn? |
isaacsegun:What a dull brain! Is your IQ so low not to see part of my post where I asked the president to initiate new projects that COMPLIMENT EXISTING ONES? A president that rubbished everything about Jonathan should be seen doing something different in addition to completing existing projects.. Simple English you can't comprehend. |
EnergyWA:Buhari doesn't deserve any special adulation for continuing with an ongoing project. He's probably doing this to score some political point. I expected him to initiate new power projects that compliment the existing ones instead of wasting 11 months on nothing. If he's so serious with all-round development why was Calabar-Lagos rail project excluded from his initial budget? |
This is not a new trend? Even Buhari attempted to bribe Ekiti lawmakers as a preparatory ground to impeach Fayose. It's a case of a servant learning the robe from his master. |
EnergyWA:Don't make mountain out of molehill here. Negotiation for funding of the project was ongoing even in Jonathan's administration despite the initial cancelation. The project itself was conceived as far back as 1982. |
2sexyus:You're so on point. Very apt. |
Goke7:This thread is not about name calling but the penchant of APC supporters (just like you) who often play down Buhari's shortcomings just because Jonathan did the same thing. You don't repeat past mistakes and still profess change. It's so simple. |
Rolings:You didn't seem to fully understand the article. Nobody says blames shouldn't be apportioned if need be but my concern is about those who often cite Jonathan's failings to ratify Buhari's misdeeds. They often say "the same thing happened during Jonathan's reign hence Buhari should be spared of any castigation". For instance, when the military flagrantly disobeyed the court by deploying soldiers for Rivers election, many on Nairaland and elsewhere posited that the same thing happened under Jonathan. The question is: where is the change? |
