This is why God will continue to be God. He intentionality allowed Buhari to "win" the last election for the following reasons: 1. To prove to all of us that the voice of the multitude might not necessarily be the voice of God. 2. The fact that a man has cult following does not translate to God's approval. 3. That the so-called intellectuals (Soyinka, Falana, Tam West etc) who threw their weight behind Buhari did it for primordial reasons and not because they indeed knew him. 4. To expose the double-sidedness of World Super Powers (UK, US and other pretenders) who subtlety backed Buhari's presidency despite his past record of docility. 5. To permanently shut the mouth of Lai Mohammed, Tinubu, Ameachi, Fashola, Okorocha, Oshiomole and others who would have gone as celebrated heroes if APC hadn't won the election. They would have been telling the world how an APC government would have turned Nigeria to overnight UAE. 6. To prove how educated but intellectually daft many Nigerians most especially the so called youths are. How can a reasonable human being decide to vote for a person even if he possess NEPA Bill Certificate? 7. Just like in the days of the Biblical Israel, God sometimes grants the wishes of His people by giving them a ruler (Saul) just to satisfy their murmuring. 8 And finally, to prove that every nation deserves its ruler. We all deserve what we get today but with God's mercy, things can still be turned around. |
Ovamboland:You're stinkingly foolish! Did you bother to read my post before vibrating on NL or is Rivers State under APC in 2016? Your own daftness is much prevalent than your fellow zombies. What an arrant nonsense! |
We are not amused by these daily rants from Buhari's EFCC or DSS any longer. One thing that remains incontrovertible is the fact that most of these monies were spent on last elections and I am still waiting for Buhari and APC's leadership to explain to the world how they funded their campaigns in the buildup to the presidential and other elections. The current cash crunch facing APC is nothing but lack of access to free fund from Ameachi and co who aledgedly single handedly bankrolled Buhari's campaigns. All these will become a child's play when 2019 election approaches and the true colour of APC unravels. |
Let no one firmly believe that APC/Buhari's govt is keen on making MTN pay the fine fully. For those who have forgotten so easily, the South African govt worked assiduously for APC when they were in opposition. In fact, the embarrassment mettled to Jonathan in the $9.3 arms debacle was orchestrated by APC in connivance with Jacob Zuma's govt. So, Buhari would want to sustain that partnership by giving MTN a soft landing. Any hard line posture by Nigeria would severe APC's relationship with the SA ANC. |
gists:You're very sick. Just go through your trash again and tell us who's even more diabolical. Comparing the Chibok Abduction with kidnap of three secondary school students and calling the ex president unprintable name is an act of stupidity and recklessness. How would there not be suspicion when a State Governor sanctioned WAEC exam in a terrorist infested territory even after been forewarned by relevant authorities? How would there not be suspicion when the wards of the School Principal and other officials were tactically withdrawn from the school environment before the invasion? If you want to know, the ChibokAbduction was a pure political Chess game. At least, the "ineffectual Buffon" seems to be better than a NEPA Bill holder who personally carried a junk to the National Assembly in the name of a "budget" |
mccoy47:It can't be a joke my friend. If you cast your mind back to the various crude steps taken by APC leadership to capture Rivers and Akwa Ibom States through arm twisting of DSS, police and the military, you'll definitely take substance in Wike's claim. There's nothing APC cannot do to grab power. |
mranova:It doesn't matter if she lives in Jupiter. The question is: was her concern germane? |
doublewisdom:Just 15million zombies and NEPA Bill Certificate holders. |
OP, you don't seem to realise that preaching from now till December will not prevent some people from signing hell fire pact with Satan. Even if Buhari turns Nigeria upside down and inside-out some condemned bootlickers will still chant his name. That's the level of stupidity in our clime. |
Only those with impaired reasoning would not pick hole in the so called N500b intervention fund. The feeding cum social welfarist programme embarked upon by Aregbesola, for instance did not only throw Osun State into bankruptcy, nothing suggests positive feedback from its implementation. Characteristic of APC as an imperialist party, their only focus is how to win elections in 2019 through unrealistic and deceitful populist policies and some kid-brains would be singing their praises to high heavens. We hope Nigeria would not turn to a failed state under this direction-less govt. |
My head shakes in consternation each time I read comments from some so-called elders and the teeming youths who parade themselves as leaders of tomorrow. Campaign promises are social contracts between any political party and the people it intends to govern. So if for whatever reason such promises are broken, questions should be asked about the INTEGRITY of the leaders of that party instead of looking for escape routes as it's been done by Lai Mohammed, Okorocha and some social commentators who should be burying their heads in shame. Since Satan is the father of lies, it means they were only following the dictate of their Master when cunningly scamming electorates for votes knowing it was all prank. From the ensuing events in the 8-month old Buhari adminstration, anybody that takes the president and members of his team as men of integrity obviously needs brain and moral checks. As someone who places so much attention on events happening around me, I had observed apparent deceits and falsehood on the faces of Mr. President, the VP and key APC members when those fake promises were been reeled out at campaign venues but typical of ever gullible Nigerians, nobody ever took note. A lesson for those who still have their conscience unbroken. |
Redoil:Point of correction. Only 15million out of Seventy million electorates actually voted for them. Remember 12million people said capital NO. |
jamace:A professional in what, if I may know? |
vivalavida:I just wanna say thank you. |
disloman:A quick search on Nairaland portal will save you more time and internet data. It was a front page topic just last week. OK? |
disloman:Is your Google faulty or have you run out of data? |
kenny987:These should be the questions on the lips of patriotic Nigerians. It becomes more worrisome in view of the office the man is occupying. What CULTURE is our Minister of " Information and Culture" entrenching in the country? Culture of lies and outright deceits? This is disgusting. |
While addressing a Cross section of the Nigerian Community during his ongoing state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, president Buhari reinstated his resolve to have any govt official(s) found culpable in the ignominious infractions and distortions that characterize the 2016 Appropriation Bill tagged "Budget of Change" severely punished. This statement coming from the horse's mouth if not for anything, lays credence to the fact that the Budget was indeed padded. However, Nigerians have every cause to worry about the display of apparent mischief from the office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed who has developed penchant for twisting facts while defending his APC-led government. We can recall how the minister during an interview granted penultimate week, vehemently denied the claim of padding in the Budget and this raises question on the integrity of some of our govt functionaries who will rather go above board to defend their office and/or subject other than upholding the oath of defending the constituting of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Aside the National Assembly officials that raised dust on the 2016 Budget anomalies, virtually every Nigerian who has followed events in the last two months is aware of the massive gaffs in the document. From the above, one is compelled to ask the following questions; 1. Why do we consistently have conflicting statements from govt officials in Buhari's adminstration? 2. Is there an interface of information sharing and alignment among govt officials before coming to the press to inform Nigerians? 3. Was there a deliberate effort by Lai Mohamned to continually deceive the citizens in an attempt to shield the presidency from public scrutiny? 4. Is Lai Mohammed still seeing himself as the mouthpiece of APC as against working for the interest of all and sundry? 5. Can Nigerians ever take the Information Minister for his words anytime he speaks about national issues? 6. And most importantly, is President Buhari firmly in control of his govt going by the spate of embarrassment suffered as a result of his subjects' goofs? |
Nijagobeta:I don't hate Buhari, after all, he's my president but I hate the work of his hands. Moreover, from your post ,do you think you really possess that coveted commonsense? |
Nijagobeta:1. Read Femi Aribisala's piece in detail for more insight. 2. Buhari's policy on Forex that limits BDC operations without considering CBN's capacity in meeting demand for foreign currencies. The scramble for dollar crumbs at the BDCs is the major causative factor for the Naira free falls. 3. Lifting of embargo on rice and textile importation amongst others. This is a misdirected policy that has further increased demand for forex. 4. A direction-less economic roadmap that scares away investors who would have pumped more foreign currencies into the local market. This is further compounded by our President's penchant for labeling Nigeria as a corrupt nation. No investor would put his money where ROI is threatened. 5. Let other Nairalanders make their additions. |
Okonjo Iweala would have failed under our new Commander-In- Chief who sees himself as an emperor, a president who doubles as Chief Economist, Attorney General, Auditor General, Chief Justice etc.A leader that claims to be Mr. Know-all. |
Nijagobeta:I can bet it with you that Kemi Adeosun would rather pray and fast for that "paper improvement" than the Naira free falls happening under her nose. Take it or leave it, Okonjo Iweala was a better economy manager. |
Femi Adesina, as crafty as his paymaster. That same impression of noninterference was created when he told the nation that Buhari did not interfere in the National Assembly Speakership tussle only for Gbajabiamila to confess how the president pressurised him not to step down for Dogara. Sometimes, I wonder why nobody can be trusted in APC. Meanwhile, if this story is true, I don't need any clairvoyant to predict how balkanised and polarized Nigeria would be at the end of Buhari's tenure and if care is not taken, the nation may slide into pre-1967 era. Instead of making amends for ridiculing every Nigerian institution (military, police, DSS , religious houses, traditional stools etc) on their way to power, the APC-led govt is cunningly engaging in condemnable armtwisting and divisiveness. This nation may be gradually drifting towards a point of no return. |

I try not to judge my fellow human beings but nobody can convince me that Lai Mohammed would not make hell ahead of Lucifer. His mastery of deceits far outweighs Satan's exploit in the Garden of Eden. |
I think the govt has not been sincere in its monetary policies but would rather choose to blame past administration for its self-inflicted woes. In the first instance, the CBN is aware of its limited capability in meeting demand for foreign exchange but still goes ahead to suffocate the BDCs thereby breeding uncontrollable pressure in the forex market. The best bet under the prevailing circumstance is to revert to the liberalisation of exchange market by allowing the official and parallel markets to compete openly but with close monitoring. Any further attempt to strangulate the BDCs would not only be continually mettled with sabotage, the Naira will continue to experience a free fall. On the other hand, the govt has to rescind its decision on the lifting of ban on importation of certain goods and services which can be sourced locally. The rationale for lifting bans on importation of rice and textile, from all indications was not well thought-out. Apart from stifling domestic growth, it further adds pressure on demand for foreign currency. These are basic reasonings and common sense that require little economic science. |
Gosh! Come and see government officials contradicting themselves so shamelessly as if we are in a pariah nation. Meanwhile, I thought the Presidential spokespersons attributed lack of understanding of the rudiments of ZBB as one of the reasons for 2016 budget errors. Why are we having contrary view with this official now telling us that designated govt functionaries were indeed trained on its application? In a bid to save Buhari's face, they kept watching their dirty linens in public and making him look like a learner. |
Kenai:Nice piece. I am impressed. |
Guk:I had promised not to reply you again but I am constrained to do so simply because of your foolery. Who do you expect me to learn from? A retard like you? Ask Fashola to sue CACOL for label if he has the gut. Get your insanity off my way! |

Guk:Rubbish. Do you think I am one of gullible Nigerians you can fool with this nonsense? Even Fashola did not deny the fraud. His only defence in the Senate was that he "didn't sign the cheque for the expenses" Why are people like you so shameless in defending evil? I am sure you would have passed a verdict of guilt if it was a PDP member that's leveled with such allegation. Obviously, it would be difficult for the country to move forward with people like you around. It's a shame. Pls don't bother to quote me again because you won't get a reply. |
free2blast:So you were in the wilderness when the news of the TSA fraud broke through Dino Melaye just few weeks ago? You need neurological check . |
