mightyhazel:That Sanusi still has the gut to speak on national issues despite the lies he peddled against the last govt shows how irresponsible some public figures can be. In a saner clime, Sanusi should be in prison for putting his nation's economy in jeopardy as a result of false alarm. |
You're suffering the consequence of Buhar's incompetence and docility, nothing else. The US economy was in recession before Obama took over but we all know the story today. |
Phame:No. You're the real mistake whose head though still hangs but has since turned vegetative. |
With the completion of these verifications, Buhari should as a matter of decency do the needful by making a full disclosure of his entire assets to the public. The abridged "declaration" he made some months ago was nothing but a chronicle of pranks. Every needle and thread must be disclosed line by line, item by item. This is the time for Nigerians to put his integrity claim to test. |
koboko69:Don't think you're clever by trying to play around with words. Your sole aim of creating the thread was to save Buhari's face from the backlashes of inability to prepare common budget but you took the game too far by trying to drag the last govt into it. Buhari had contested for the presidency for 12 years before clinching the seat in 2015, therefore, he doesn't have any excuse for these budget quagmires. Moreover, the process of preparing budget is the same (for those who know what they are doing) whether it's 4 or 10trillion. So, don't come here to cite the size of 2016 budget as the reason for the ensuing hullabaloo. You equally lied regarding the distortions in the original and the amended budgets submitted to the National Assembly. Those distortions (errors and paddings) emanated from the executive and it took the prying eyes of the legislators and members of the public to bring them to limelight. It's sheer wickedness for you to blame other parties for Buhari's failures. If he was competent and astute as been erroneously portrayed why didn't he vet the initial documents before taking them personally to the National Assembly? Why did he attempt to retrieve the budget through suspicious means from the hallowed chambers when the paddings and errors came to public knowledge? Please stop these shenanigans in the name of supporting a deceitful govt. It's not good for you or the nation. OK? |
Op, this kind of reasoning either shows you're shallow-minded, myopic or chronically mischievous. May I know the rationale for creating this thread? Was is meant to justify an incompetent govt or cast aspersion on deeds of the last administration which APC rubbished and roundly condemned? What happened to the change mantra of Buhari's APC? Are you suggesting we should continue with the failings of the past and overlook the apparent cluelessness and naivety of this adminstration? 15 millions Nigerians voted for change in 2015 and that change must include prompt preparation and signing of budgets. Take your malicious and thoughtless threads off Nairaland. |
Though it's a bit difficult to predict outcome of elections in Nigeria due to its dynamic and murky nature, nonetheless it sounds preposterous for APC to think of wining Ekiti in the nearest future, not with the party's waning and plummeting popularity all over the country. However, Fayose should step up his developmental strides or else anything can happen. |
hornyman:Habitual ranting of a misinformed Nairalander who thrives on unsubstantiated allegations and propaganda. Can you bring out any document that nailed GEJ in arms fund diversion? Agreed those funds under EFCC investigation were spent on elections (in the same manner state funds were used for Buhari's ascension to power), there's nothing that suggests the monies were meant solely for arms purchase. Out of $2.1billion, only less than $500million were alleged to have been diverted, so what happened to the remaining $1.6b? Was it not expended on arms purchase? Your allegation on Chibok girls lacks intuitive reasoning and it shows how myopic and wicked some of you are. The entirety of the fault for the abduction should rest on the shoulders of Governor Shetima who deified security warnings to sanction WAEC exams in an insurgency ravaged community. With allegations of complicity by the school authority and state govt going round, it would have been difficult for the president to take a drastic decision in such moment without wide consultation hence the delay in his reaction. Have you ever asked yourself why it took Buhari almost two months after the killing of more than 700 Nigerians before acting on Fulani herdsmen carnages? No matter what you and your likes say, Jonathan was and he's still a respecter of human lives compared to Buhari and other previous Nigerian leaders. Period. |
NeuroBoss:Where's the proof Oshiomole's secretary was killed for political reason? Was he contesting for any elective post in Edo at that time? While I am not ruling out such possibility, nobody had come out with verifiable facts that laid the killing on the table of politics. Meanwhile, nobody is still groaning under the pain of Jonathan's electoral loss contrary to your mental conception after all, Nigeria will continue to exist after Jonathan and each one of us. What most sensible Nigerians are doing now is a peer government comparison as it's done all over the world. An incumbent govt is expected to do better than its predecessor but the reverse is the case at least in the last 11 months as corroborated by even Dele Momodu, Omojuwa, Falana et al who are diehard supporters of Buhari/APC. So, erase the thoughts of Jonathan's loss from your consciousness and face the brunt of packaging an incompetent leader to power. I rest my case. |
OlujobaSamuel:The usual syndrome of acting before thinking. What's the essence of disputing somebody's claim when you don't have any counterclaim? As I said earlier, mention one political assassination during GEJ's tenure. |
ybalogs:Do us a favour by mentioning any serial killing that had political undertone or inclination during Jonathan's tenure. |
Nigerians should brace up for politically-motivated killings between now and 2019.. One of the things that endeared Jonathan to me was his respect for human lives. Despite provocations from within and outside PDP, his 5-year tenure experienced zero political assassination. Welcome to the real nest of killers-the APC. |

DropShot:There's a misinformation here. At no time during this 2016 budget impasse did the President submit any Supplementary Bill as you claimed. He only forwarded an amendment to the first proposal after it was discovered to be riddled with padding and errors. Besides, no supplementary bill can be submitted when the substantive bill has not been passed/accented by the National Assembly and the President respectively |
RIP Sir. He and Pa Jakande really served Lagos with sense of purpose and sincerity unlike the imperialists who parade themselves as "progressives" today. May your children reap from your good works. |
yarimo:Redirect your kolo-mentality to the sitting president who refused to negotiate with Boko haram at the peripheral stage of the insurgency when he was nominated as the only trusted negotiator by the sect. If he had done so (just the way Obj did) maybe we wouldn't be where we are today. After completing the bend, you can then make a detour by venting your anger on northern elders who are playing politics with the lives of their fellow countrymen and women. Leave Jonathan out of it. OK? |
The same way Buhari cunningly published a scam in the name of Asset Declaration? Why is this man fooling himself thinking he's fooling Nigerians? A mere willing tool and errand VP that lacks presence in a cult government. |
blackpanda:Who told you the President was silent on Dasuki case? Were you not in the country when he passed a verdict of no-bail on Dasuki during his maiden media chat on NTA? He only keeps mute whenever he's caught pants down or whenever his integrity mantra is put to test. Stop defending an insincere president. OK? |
Ghandi12:I think the silence is intentional. Even Femi Adeshina and Garba Shehu seemed to have lost their barking voices on this particular scandal. |
Joe Igbokwe, an irresponsible Tinubu and Fashola bootlicker whose conscience has been permanently buried in Lagos Lagoon all because of greed and covetousness. A man that turned his back at his own people when they were "deported" in their own country to "Onitsha Under-the Bridge" just to continually have his bread buttered in Lagos and Southwest. An unconscientious and manner-less town crier who only talks about "PDP's corrupt 16-year rule but never raises hue on Tinubu and Fashola's alleged election rigging and stealing in Lagos. Igbokwe should tell us the true story about the construction of Website for N78million in Lagos. Was he dead when N300million was spent on mere Borehole? What does he have to say about alleged conversion of Lagos Assets to personal use of APC leaders? May God Almighty judge Igbokwe and others who conspired to impoverish the Southwest in the last 16 years while pointing accusing fingers at others. |
Any society that allows people like Ameachi to hang around in the corridor of power can never progress. This is not a curse but stark reality. |
What a piece! What a decent exposition and watering-down of daily fables from the stables of the crooked-minded APC usurpers! Those who constantly describe PDP's 16-year rule as a waste can be categorized as follows; 1. Just like the OP said, those from Indomie age who know little or absolute nothing about Nigeria's history pre and post 1999. 2. The intellectually lazy ones who will never do a simple research about Nigeria's political evolution. 3. Those who derive so much pleasure in finding faults in others yet can't do jack when called upon as alternatives. Fashola and even Buhari (the substantive Power and Petroleum Ministers) are clear examples. 4. Children of lies who always feel at home whenever APC propaganda machine goes on the loose. They never bother to verify the veracity of those hoaxes. 5. The wicked ones who only see the evil in others but never bother about theirs. It's satanic for a party to probe the source of financing PDP's elections but keeps mute on how their own electoral success was financed. 6. Those who lack conscience and would go to any length to call the dog a bad name just to hang it. Jonathan for instance was tongue-lashed for not responding swiftly to Chibok GIrls' "Abduction" yet no question was asked about apparent negligence and complicity on the parts of the School administrators and the state governor. He was condemned for not nipping Boko haram in the bud yet, nobody raised hues about those who tagged the fight against the sect as a fight against the north; the northern elders who vociferously opposed the presence of military in the troubled region, the same elders who kept mute at the initial stage of the carnage when only churches were attacked but suddenly found their voices immediately the insurgents began to attack everywhere including mosques; those who accused a onetime Chief of Army Staff of engaging in ethnic cleansing in the guise of fighting Boko haram. 7. Shameless former PDP members and founders who derive pleasure in deriding a party they once belonged just because they have found a haven in a new party that butters their breads. Obasanjo, for instance who navigated the ship of PDP for good 8 years now wines and dines with those that splash muds on his face on daily basis by tagging his former party's 16-year rule as waste. What an absurdity! 8. And finally, those with primordial and pecuniary mindsets who will NEVER see anything good in PDP now and forever. |
AirFireEarthH20:Nigerian media has already been sold to the highest bidder but we know who calls the shot. However, I still find it difficult to fathom how people can sell their integrity and conscience for money and mundane things. Only God can move this country forward with this level of sycophancy and deceits. |
bappahman:I knew the man was set up for failure when asked to uptake two portfolios at the same time. No sane society makes such appointment. Similarly, no beefing, Fashola should be stripped of one of his three super ministries for efficiency while Mr. President should relinquish his post as the substantive Petroleum Minister.. |
jerseyboy:No wonder someone tried to remove the padded budget from the national Assembly unofficially and the presidency did not raise any hue about it. |
babyfaceafrica:You're free to make additions or subtractions. |
orisa37:Lol. Psychophatic Feudalism. Thank God I wear an anti-missile gear. |
tayebest:With this your grammar, I think you're more confused. |
Goke7:I have been an ardent follower of Nigerian politics pre and post 1999. Take me up on the promises made by them and see if I won't reply you decently. I know you'll mention electricity but don't go there at all. Those responsible for power failure in Nigeria know themselves. Amongst them are the members of this clownish APC government. |
prince088:Lies from the pit of hell. Tompolo and his gangs were never shielded, instead Jonathan and some elders in the region took it upon themselves to lunch a voyage into the militants' enclaves for one-on-one talks that heralded the Amnesty pact. Buhari on the other hand was nominated as their sole negotiator by Boko haram but declined the offer because he wanted to use insecurity to campaign against Jonathan. As a sitting president why is Buhari unable to prevent massacre of more than 500 people in Agatu? Why didn't he prevent the genocidal killing of more than 1000 Shitte members by the military he superintends? One day, all of you will be put to shame by the time the whole truth about Boko haram is unravelled. |
amtaken:This is the same state where one clown failed to pay workers' salaries and pensions for months before relinquishing power yet he had the audacity to ask for people's votes in the last parliamentary election reruns. PDP might not be perfect but one thing I cherish about them is been down to earth. They would never promise what they can't do unlike the professional scammers in the other party. I won't mention their names but the world knows. |
prince088:Your post clearly suggests how the spirit of commonsense and truthfulness has completely departed from you. How could Jonathan have crushed Boko haram when he was accused of killing northerners by Northern Elders Forum? How would he have nipped the menace in the bud with Buhari saying a fight against Boko haram was a fight against the north? How could he have wiped out the insurgents when Northern political elements intentionally shielded and harboured the sponsors? Check your conscience before condemning Jonathan on the Book haram issue or else heaven will punish you and your likes. |
