obailala:I had waited patiently for you to tell us the feeding budget if it's not N1.7b as you claimed. Instead of picking your phone to confirm the veracity of my figure, you embarked on arrogant peddling of lie. For your information, the proposed feeding budget is N1 7billion. Check your facts before galloping into people's thread. |
obailala:Stop that bunkum. Do the needful by stating the exact feeding allocation in that budget and don't forget to include that of the VP. Instead of condemning the presidency for going against what they preached some 9 months ago, you are here shamelessly disputing figures. Is the feeding allocation not above N1billion from paltry N500m in May 2015? Has the presidency personnel increased to warrant such blotted amount? You people are not only disgusting, there's no element of sincerity in your bodies, souls and spirits. Veer off my lane, agent of propaganda. |
obailala:You can do better than this trash. Can you educate Nigerians why a govt that preaches prudence could jerk up feeding allocation to such unjustfable. level? If there's anybody that needs both psychological and spiritual cleansing, you definitely fit the description. Whether you call it hatred or whatever name, that's your problem. I don't hate the president but I detest deception. OK? |
Emekamex:Imagine how APC and the presidency were bragging when the document was been presented to the NA with so much fanfare. Ironically, latest development clearly shows that the president was not even kept abreast of the content of the budget. Sentiment apart, this says so much about Buhari's CV. |
Statements emanating from the Presidency when defending apparent goofs by this adminstration sometimes draw laughter and disdain. Many times had the president for instance, misfired when granting interviews to foreign press only for Adesina and Garba Shehu to embark on fruitless and needless lectures by rephrasing those statements just to save the president's face. Latest in this series of childish comedy is the reason alluded by the presidency for the errors and "padding" discovered in the 2016 Budget. Attaching the adoption of ZBB to the unprecedented aberrations in that budget is not only repressible, it underlines how far the presidency can go in covering up its apparent incompetence. First, what is Zero Based Budgeting? It simply means a budgeting system that requires all expenses to be justified for each fiscal period as against building on previous budget. This allow each cost centre to put forward all expenditure for each budget year only. With this little hindsight, why should the presidency attribute a simple budgeting system to the anticipatory fraud perpetrated by those responsible for its preparation? It's evident that bogous figures were intentionally smuggled into the document for future fraudulent purposes. Was it the ZBB that warranted repetition of same budget heads? Was the newly adopted budget system responsible for the increase of feeding allocation in the presidency from N500 million to N1.7billion? Was the ZBB responsible for the infiltration of "foreign figures" in the 2016 Appropriation Bill? The presidency and its spokespersons should stop taking us for a ride with incongruent kindergarten rejoinders and face saving rethorics. |
comos:You're are right. That's the truth. |
ozoigbondu:I am not trying to scheme up unnecessary attention here but if I narrate some of my ordeals( even as a poor and apolitical citizen), many would waive it off as mere fabrications. I discovered that my phones, movements and other personal activities were (and are still) been tapped. In fact, I received some strange calls before and after the 2015 elections. I guess these are prizes to be paid for writing on Nairaland and perhaps, speaking on Radio (which I seldom do). However, all these won't deter me from voicing my opinion on national issues most especially Buhari and APC's mischiefs since we are all stakeholders in Nigerian Project. I believe so strongly in my conscience and God. As it's often said, ONE WITH GOD IS MANY. |
Chimezie250:Yes, they shot themselves in the foot in Lagos not envisaging its ripple effect on subsequent judgements. APC always wants to eat their cake and still have it. |
Can somebody drum it into the ears of Lai Mohammed to stop playing on people's intelligence? Nigerians are not expecting overnight turnaround in national outlook but can recognise a positive change when they see one. Definitely, a positive change can never be accompanied with; 1. Increase in Electricity Tariff without steady power. .2. Increase in price of kerosene without palliatives to the vulnerable poor masses. 3. Skyrocketing exchange rate at over N300 to a Dollar. 4. Increase in feeding allowance at the presidency from N500m to N1.7b 5. Presentation of a national budget to the NA without vetting or detailed scrutiny thereby resulting in unprecedented ignominy. 6. Disjointed or non-existent economic policy direction that scares away FDI . 7. Lack of intelligence blueprint in tackling terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery and other social menaces. These are the issues bothering Nigerians and not necessarily been over-expectant. We are no dumbs |
The so-called probe is not only a witchhunt, it's also a diversionary tactic been deployed to sway attention from Buhari's incompetence, crudity and direction-less. Each time Nigerians complain about the economy, the govt quickly throw up one allegation and/or discovery of fraud or the other simply to divert people's attention. This is a crafty and diabolic govt. |
Happiness87:Nice one. Thanks. |
Fair weather politicians. When the going is good they hang around but as soon as things begin to turn sour they show their true colour. This is arguably PDP's best time to rebrand and reposition itself. The likes of Nnamani have actually outlived their usefulness. |
MrALIVE:The celebration may seem wasteful but if one considers the manner of the victory at Supreme Court viz-a-viz APC's arm twisting of the judiciary and security agents at the lower courts, I think it's worth it. |
ZombieNation:Did you just say hypocrisy? That's an understatement. He's a master of foolery and hoax. A perfect blend with APC. |
I personally don't think APC stands a chance in any of the South-South States with the level of solidarity on display. |
The good people of Akwa-Ibom State, the home of ever lively Godswill Akpabio are currently in celebration mood, rejoicing, dancing and praising the Almighty for silencing the propagandist forces which Oyegun's APC unleashed on them at the Tribunal and Appeal Court. Live on AIT and NTA. |
Progressive01:Firstly, I can bet it with you that none of your family members will attain the height of that "ineffectual Buffon" before their extinction. Secondly, you made a mess of your education by alluding out-of-court settlement to suggest admittance of guilt. Dokpesi had to take that decision to avoid unnecessary distraction to his business knowing how harrowing litigations can be in Nigeria. Get informed! |
CecyAdrian:Nope. You're one of the zombies who always shy away from the truth. Your sentimental reasoning is not only a stumbling block to Nigeria's progress, it's the main causative factor for poverty and oppression in the world. |
kuuljay:The same way their master (Buhari) asked his certificate scandal accusers to "stay in the court"? |
Why waste time on Jagaban knowing fully well he purportedly has a grip on a section of the judiciary? Can you still remember his famous Certificate and CCB trials? The late Gani Fawehinmi was rough handled right in the premises of a Lagos High Court, courtesy of your hero. |
ogmaskman:Go over that documentary again (if you have access to it) and tell us any one of the allegations that's not true. |
When will the same Tinubu and his media consortium (The Nation, TV Continental, Radio Continental etc) issue public apology to Jonathan and his family for the damaging and abusive stories made against them before the elections? This is a country where evil is celebrated than good. Bola Tinubu, enjoy your political manipulations while it last. Every Lagosian can attest to the veracity of all the facts contained in that AIT documentary. |
Many Nigerians don't seem to realise we have a president that can be likened to a postman who delivers a package with little clue about its content. How could a president present a budget that's full of errors, ambiguities and distortions to the National Assembly with so much fanfare without detailed vetting and scrutiny? Nigerians should pray that the country is not traded off while he watches haplessly. |
Tummy Monitoring Gluttons. Bunch of political masquerades who allow themselves to be used by APC to subvert the wishes of the people. No matter what you say, the will of the people has prevailed in Rivers and Akwa-Ibom as pronounced by the Supreme Court. No more, no less. |
As if there's a genuine fight against corruption in the first instance. What's going on now can never be equated with sincere fight against graft but a declaration of war on the opposition preparatory towards 2019 elections. Can anybody point to any nation in the world that's ridden of corruption through jailing and hounding of key political leaders? Has incarceration of armed robbers and drug barons curbed stealing and drug peddling in the world? The answer is NO. Corruption is fought with institutional and legal frameworks as against media trials and judicial arm twisting currently been adopted by Buhari's misfit govt, a tactic that would definitely lead nowhere. |
Another lily-livered coward been coerced by the EFCC and Buhari to give undue substance to the so-called "$2.1b Arms Money". My friend, the money you collected was for the image laundering of the then sitting government just the way APC governors used their state funds to finance Buhari's election. The money was never meant for Arms. Simple! |
This Jona is just too much. He keeps loving those who hate him with passion. If it were Buhari, he would never attend your Council of State Meeting talk less of been sent on errand. Some were born of God while others were made from flesh. Jonathan is a unique mortal. I doff my hat. |
I must confess that in my many years of existence, I am yet to come across any other personality who's more cruel, mischievous, heartless, hateful, unrepentantly subtle, selfish and deceitful than Lai Mohammed. This man should stop bringing down others for personal and party glory. |
Omokri, nobody derives pleasure in negative criticism of Buhari or his govt but available facts indicate a man who's pitiably lost and bereft of ideas on how to positively turn Nigeria around without inflicting more pains. Virtually all his policies are infested with economic anguish and stings. From increase in Electricity Tariff without commensurate meter availability and distribution, ban on dollar dominated debit cards with its attendant diaspora wailings, restrictions on BDC operations without virile alternative forex mkt, removal of subsidy on Kerosene(the common man source of energy) without sustainable palliatives, proposed reintroduction of toll fees, lopsided and selective "fight against corruption", to technically defective anti-insurgency drive, nothing suggests either Buhari or APC has a well-crafted clue on revamping the nation's economy or solve its myriad of political, sociocultural and security challenges. Not all Nigerians are good in despicable praise singing. We either call a spade by its name or live in foolery perpetually. As for me, I'll rather choose the former |
elderken:If that's your own definition of Treason, when would Buhari be docked for impoverishing Rivers, Lagos, Osun and other APC states' citizens through the funding of his 2015 election? |
elderken:So fraud is tantamount to treason in your own dictionary and constitution? Meanwhile, when will Falana drag Buhari to ICC for aiding and abetting squandering of Rivers and other APC states' resources on his 2015 election? When will Buhari face ICC for his inciting statements that culminated in the death of Nigerians (including Youth Corps) in his failed 2011 presidency bid? |
Adminisher:Obviously you didn't read my post carefully. If you did, you'll see where it was argued that school feeding doesn't guarantee enrolment or attendance. The low school enrolment in the northern part of Nigeria, for instance was not precipitated on lack of food but purely religious and cultural inclinations. Your argument regarding likelihood of improved agriculture is also invalid. Available facts indicate that supply of basic food items (such as rice and beans) far outweighs demand. Only irresponsible parents would abdicate the responsibility of feeding their wards to the govt. |
