Christianity EtcRe: Prepare For Revolution, Archbishop Of Enugu Tell Nigerians by olajide8(m): 5:37am On May 01, 2019
Antoeni:
The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rev Emmanuel Chukwuma, on Tuesday called on Nigerians to prepare for a revolution.
Chukwuma,  who has constantly criticised  President Muhammadu Buhari’s management  style, spoke in an interview with our correspondent in Enugu.
According to him, the  poverty rate is high in the country  because of bad leadership.
He  said    the N30,000 new minimum wage would not   reduce poverty in Nigeria,  adding that  inflation would render  the new  pay  worthless.
The cleric said, “There  is hunger and  people are deprived   of  the basic necessities of life in Nigeria and the  N30,000 new  minimum wage, which amounts to N1,000 per day,  would not solve any problem.
“How would people pay for house rent, school fees, medical fees and other utilities which must be taken care of, let alone feeding themselves and their  families.”
Chukwuma said, “It is high time the expired and old politicians who have held Nigeria down left the stage so that we can have a new Nigeria of our dream where things work.”
He urged the Nigeria Labour Congress  to champion the revolution,  which, according to him,  is imminent.
He also  called for  the restructuring of  the country.
Chukwuma added,  “All  political appointments must reflect  federal character. Since the President and  his deputy  come from  the North-West and South-West respectively,  the position of the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives should go to other zones.”

smh! i was patiently reading your reply thinking you are making sense, but you obviously dodged my question of why do we yorubas oppose the igbos from having their own country even when we knew and claim we dnt need them??but unfortunatly you didn't answer my question, igbos never need a country inside nigeria what they need is an independent state of biafra(outside nigeria)calling me an ipob hmmm.
I actually answered your question, by pointing out the obvious- the S.E is land locked- the S.S was never part of the S.E from historical facts we had the English Cameroun and blight of biafra and they always clamored for their independence from the S.E, to the best of my knowledge divisive people, people with the "self" belief above the "we" belief, tear other down syndrome, prey on others can never be nigerians, they want what they want, we want restructuring, we are calling for state police, and further control of basic assets such as power through proper channels, we are generating more internal revenue as we have been doing since before independence - we are trying to get the proper governance structure and personalities in the S.W yet they castigate insult prick us condemn our ways instead of facing and minding their own business

All that you have pointed out, which is a lie? 2ndly, they are not nigerians they are Jews so they should leave nigeria for us - they cannot claim what they do not have or like 3rdly when things are in their facour everybody can go to blazes bah? But when it's against them they are unfairly treated bah? finally thou I know you are an IPOB, which is obvious from your word spelling, I decided to wet your appetite with these known facts, you cannot have a country inside another country - you can have one country many systems but you cannot have many countries one system

These are photos of the Oshodi Transport Interchange, Oshodi, Lagos.

It was commissioned yesterday by President Mohammadu Buhari.

These photos were taken earlier today.

Clearly, the construction of this interchange is far from being completed.

Which begs the questions: what is the rationale for commissioning a project that is nowhere close to its completion?

Why is Governor Akinwunmi Ambode desperate to enjoy the credit for this project?

Was President Buhari not aware that the construction of this project was still ongoing?

See also: This Is The Airport Road That President Buhari Commissioned In Lagos (Embarrassing PHOTOS). To read, Click HERE

While we were there, some Lagosians who we discussed with expressed anger and disappointment at the apparent deceit.

According to them, some roads that were opened and motorable yesterday to make the environment appear appealing have all been closed as construction works continued this morning.

Again, what is the point in all these haste in commissioning an ongoing project?

This reminds us of the Ikeja bus terminal which remains non-functional as construction is still ongoing one year after it was also commissioned by President Mohammadu Buhari.

Is it safe to say that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode successfully pulled the wool over the President’s eyes twice?

Bayelsa House of Assembly on Wednesday approved monthly pensions to speakers, deputy speakers and other members of assembly.

The bill sponsored by the leader of the House, Peter Akpe, which was passed on the floor of the House, approved N500,000 post service monthly pension to the speakers of the assembly. The deputy speakers are to earn monthly pension of N200, 000 while other rest 24-member capacity assembly will earn N100,000 each.

The bill specifically provided that former lawmakers including persons of Bayelsa origin, who served in the old Rivers State, would enjoy life pensions for their services in the state as applicable to former presidents, vice-presidents, governors and deputy governors across the country.

To qualify for the speakership pension of N500, 000 monthly, the lawmaker the person must have served for two years and above. Most stakeholders in Bayelsa State took to different social media platforms to criticise the bill, deriding the lawmakers for being selfish and insensitive.

A resident, Fidel Boboye, described the move as greed in the highest places and wondered why such political office holders with the wealth and money they had amassed still awarded life pensions to themselves.

Another resident Preye Alegbe, said: “Is this not too much for these persons even as there are many graduates out there without good jobs? Why can’t the legislature channel these legislations to areas where the younger generations can benefit more”.

There is high tension currently at the main gate of National Assembly in Abuja as members of Islamic Movement Of Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’ites have forced their way into the assembly complex and chased away armed policemen on duty.

Members of the movement were initially peaceful in their conduct although they were chanting anti-government songs from outside the gate.

But situation turned awry when some of them suddenly descended on the gate, shaking it vigorously until they succeeded in forcing it open, almost causing a stampede because of the crowd.

Some of the policemen attached to the gate tactically took to their heels, as the protesters trooped in with chants of 'Alahu Akbar'.

It took the appeal of leaders of the movement to stop the crowd from advancing into chambers of the assembly proper.

Despite provocation by the protesters, the Police remained calm and peaceful, and only pleaded with them not to go into the chamber.

CrimeRe: Airport Cartel Planting Drugs In Passengers’ Luggage Arrested (Photo) by olajide8(m): 4:40pm On Apr 24, 2019
fabinfos:
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has nabbed an airport cartel which specializes in planting drugs in passengers’ luggage.

According to the Chairman of the NDLEA, Col. Abdallah (rtd), THe cartel was uncovered after detectives embarked on investigation of a Nigerian lady identified as Zainab Aliyu, who was accused of entering Saudi Arabia with tramadol.

Zainab was arrested by Saudi Arabia Police on December 26, 2018, shortly after arriving for Lesser Hajj, over allegations that a luggage, bearing her name tag, contained the unlawful substance.

However, while in detention, the NDLEA received a petition from her father, seeking a probe of his daughter’s ordeal.

Consequently, the NDLEA Commander in charge of MAKIA launched an investigation, which culminated in the arrest and arraignment of seven staff of the airport.

The accused are Idris Umar Shehu, Sanni Suleiman, Nuhu Adamu, Rhoda Adetunji, Udosen Itoro Henry and Sanni Hamisu. The cartel had planted the tramadol-bearing luggage on Zainab.

It was further established that Zainab, who had only a luggage, was not aware that a second bag had been labelled in her name.

The implication of this discovery by NDLEA is that many Nigerians arrested and executed for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia might be innocent.

@titiloyeblog.com

The Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross River State Command, has disclosed the Awaiting Trial Female (ATF) inmate of the Afokang Prison in Calabar (name withheld), who was delivered of twin on April 17, has died.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Effanga Etim, said she gave birth through Caesarean section to a boy and a girl but died on April 19 due to complications.

The Command debunked reports that she gave birth inside the prison, insisting she delivered at the General Hospital in Calabar, where she had been receiving regular ante-natal care.

The statement reads: “The Nigeria Prisons Service, Cross River State Command has received with dismay media reports insinuating that an Awaiting Trial Female (ATF) inmate of Calabar Prison was delivered of twins inside the prison facility.

“The report is not true as the said inmate was remanded by a High Court in Calabar on 5th November, 2018 with six (6) month-old pregnancy for the offense of child stealing.

“While in prison, she had been under regular ante-natal care at the General Hospital, Calabar.

‘’On the 17th of April, 2019 by 1:30pm when her labour began, she was admitted in the same hospital and a caesarean section was carried out on her.

“With the intervention of the Cross River state Commissioner of Health, and the efforts of the Prison authority to provide the funds needed for the caesarean section, the said inmate was delivered of twins: a boy and a girl.

‘’However, due to complications arising from the caesarean section, she was referred to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for further management, where she died on 19th April, 2019.

“The Command wishes to state emphatically that for the past four (4) years, there has not been any delivery in the Calabar prison infirmary.

“Albeit, the infirmary is well equipped to handle health emergencies that may arise with nine (9) medical experts comprising of a medical doctor, registered nurses/midwives, and community health workers as well as back-up medical personnel stationed in the State Prison Headquarters, any emergency beyond the infirmary is referred to government hospitals outside the prison.

“The Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross River state command, is pained over the loss of the said inmate after a combined effort by the prison authority, the Cross River state government and medical personnel in the General Hospital, Calabar. I assure the public that the health and welfare of prisoners.”

Etim said the babies are in the care of the state government at the moment.

Padding is a notorious habit of all involved in the budget process especially the executive arm who year in year out sneak in the same items budgeted for in previous years under same and disguised headings.

Man or woman, I'm a woman. You are free to question your weak manhood on why a lady can be this audacious! cool
Your call!
Eheya mother of 2moro - audacity ko audaciousness ni, I did rather' you put it in the proper' context- myopicity, well it's good when women talk, the only thing is that most of the time when they don't' know anything about an issue, they take a position and hold tight to the position, and when they hate they hate unjustifiable, without any reason- trying to sway the issue of padding or' trying to apportion it to the 2 parties shows the lack of knowledge, as I said earlier the executive is supposed to saddled with the responsibility of drafting the budget, let them pad it, the Nass is supposed to prune it- identify the padding and slash the funds where necessary back, that is what is called appropriation - but instead they instead abrogate powErs and want to draft the budget increase figures and allocate funds and say they are appropriating.

Like I said, it's either selective amnesia or pure unadulterated ignorance you feign, fashola and bubu refused the budget 2ce on one of the occasion the president actually had to sign off on the 3rd presentation not to long ago, and they didn't fund that aspect where the Nass padded the budget, and yes its on record MDA's were reprimanded but what was the reason they gave then? The senators wanted contracts, bribes in exchange for passing or increasing the MDA's budget of recent they did it for the current nafdac DG professor adeyeye

Did you read the OP? Even if you didn't, if you were current and intelligent, you would have known that the points raised by Saraki is not new and is in the public domain even before now.

Though my siggy captures you and yours, I still urge you to read it.
Why do people feign so much ignorance like this? when we say we have a lot of educated illiterates, they would think because they can write a straight sentence they know their left from their right grin grin

na so one talk on another thread that tinubu wants to be president as if he knows the man more then 'the man, lets reach 2021 first to see if it is true, they went on to say he influenced the choice of the tribunal delegates, that the CJN approved as delegated to the president of the court of appeal "in our constitution" to compile, of the list of tribunal members.

now here again. someone thinks he is making so much sense to himself because he feels his point of view is spot on, whereas his brains, abi her brains are under her feet, what backs her faces another, person - what does it take, like what they use to do under previous administrations to give the committees marching orders to do the necessary and pass the thrash, within 30 days well most of the committee chairmen are in the opposition PDP, they were the, ones that support shataki - we are so quick to forget that money for specific roads were reduced, e.g Lagos Ibadan e,expressway and appropriated to local govt roads of some senators and tagged constituency projects, in the budget, if they have forgotten we haven't forgotten and fashola definitely hasn't forgotten, because no one wants to question the true meaning of appropriation, we are also quick to forget or would I say, some people have selective amnesia that when monies are moved from some ministries projects and added or increased above the govt plan it's called padding especially when it doesn't' have equivalent returns to the people-

what is the difference between the committees of the Senate and the senate? Is one outside the structure of the Nass?- rubbish as usual. Is a committee a separate entity from the Senate? -

to whom brain is given, common sense is expected, come to think of it- if the budget is not passed and it was submitted since December, who's responsibility is it to pass it, me? the executive? or 'the same nass?

Senate President Bukola Saraki has charged the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to dwell on facts in his criticism of the leadership of thae Senate.

Tinubu had, in a statement on Monday, defended his role in aligning with the APC in the choice of preferred candidates for the leadership of the two chambers of the federal legislature in the emerging Ninth Assembly.

The APC chieftain also knocked the leadership of the Senate for working at cross purposes with President Muhammadu Buhari on key government policies, particularly, the processing of the annual budget.

But Saraki, in a statement Abuja by his media adviser, Yusuph Oloniyonu, decried what he described as Tinubu’s “quarterly attacks” on the President the Senate.

Saraki said the APC leader’s statement contained untruth, fallacies and misrepresentations, adding that it was another effort to sell a concocted narrative about the Eighth National Assembly and its leadership.

The statement said: “First, he alleged that national budgets were delayed, distorted, padded, new projects introduced, funds for projects reduced, “to halt progress of government”.

“It is unfortunate that a man like Tinubu who had been in the Senate (though for 22 months and under a military regime) should not have a better understanding of how the legislature works.

“The passage of budgets is definitely not the exclusive responsibility of the leadership of the Senate.

“Most of the work is done by the various committees. These committees are headed by Senators representing different parties.

“It is the level of co-operation between the committees and the MDAs in the timely defence of the budget proposals and the ability of the two chambers of the National Assembly to reconcile their figures that usually determine how soon the budget is passed.

“To put the blame of budget delay on the Senate President or Speaker can only be mischief, or at best, playing to the gallery.

“It is also a known fact that any so-called delay in the passage of budgets under the Eighth National Assembly is traceable to the refusal of heads of MDAs to defend the budget proposals for their agencies on time.

“Last year, the President himself had to direct the Secretary to Federal Government to compel heads of MDAs to appear before the National Assembly committees following the report made to him by Dr. Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

So, if a man like Tinubu is spreading this falsehood about budget passage and delay being deliberately orchestrated by the National Assembly leadership, one wonders whether he tries to even understand what happens in the federal legislature at all or is that the only thing that is of interest to him is ‘jockeying and maneuvering for influence’, as he puts it.

“To further make the points here clear, we invite Tinubu to look at the records of the time of submission of budgets and their passage since 2010 and he will see that with the exception of the 2013 budget which was passed on December 20, 2012, all the budgets have been passed between March and May of the same fiscal year.

“This should give him a better understanding of the fact that the date the Appropriations Bill is submitted to parliament and the readiness of the MDAs to defend the proposals submitted, as well as timely agreement on the figures by both chambers of the National Assembly, are the main determining factors in when the budget is eventually passed. So, Tinubu should see that the facts cannot support his spins and fake narrative”.

Saraki challenged Tinubu to cite specific instances where the Senate President and the leadership of the legislature sought to pad the budget with pet projects, as alleged.

Taking the APC leader to task about the allegation, Saraki charged Tinubu to be graceful enough to substantiate this allegation, insisting it was careless, irresponsible and callous.

Demanding that Tinubu withdraw the said statement, Saraki said it’s the constitutional responsibility of the National Assembly to review the proposals sent by the executive and where it deems necessary, it is within the power of the legislature to make changes.

SenseiVoyles:
A new report by the Economic Confidential has disclosed that the federal government, 36 states and the 774 local government councils in Nigeria shared a total sum of N8 trillion from the Federation Account in 2018 in spite of the shut-ins in several oil installations during the period.
The allocations were made after the monthly meetings of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) in 2018.
The current sources of revenue flow into the Federation Account are revenue collected by agencies of the federal government with little or no contributions from states and local government councils.
While the federal government and its agencies under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari received a total sum of N3.48 trillion, the other tiers, states and local government councils, shared a total sum of N4.5 trillion in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2017 the federal government and its agencies had received N2.5 trillion while the other tiers of government shared N3.3 trillion.
In its annual detailed investigative report with a table of figures, the Economic Confidential disclosed that among the state recipients, Delta is ranked first as the highest recipient of gross allocation with a total sum of N285 billion in the twelve months of 2018.

It is followed by Akwa State N272bn, Lagos N260bn, Rivers N237bn and Bayelsa N192bn. The five states cornered over a quarter (25 per cent) of the total allocation for the states and local government councils in Nigeria in 2018.
Among the 10 highest recipients from the Federation Account in 2018 included Kano State which got N183bn, Katsina N138bn, Oyo N131bn And Kaduna N131bn

The report further disclosed that Edo and Ondo, which are oil-producing states, got N112bn and N108bn respectively while another state in the South-South, Cross River State, merely received N91bn

The Economic Confidential, Nigeria’s intelligence economic magazine, gathered that factors that influence allocations to states and local government councils from the Federation Account include: Population, Derivation, Landmass, Terrain, Revenue Effort, School Enrolments, Health Facilities, Water Supply and Equality of the beneficiaries.
The revenue generating agencies to the Federation Account are the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
The revenues come from Export Crude Sales, Domestic Crude Sales, LPG, NLNG, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Company Income Tax (CIT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Import Duty, Excise Duty, Royalties, Gas Flared and miscellaneous oil revenue such as Oil Prospecting License and oil Mining Licence.
The Economic Confidential which is circulated at the monthly meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has been publishing the monthly FAAC figures since January 2007.
It also publishes the Annual States Viability Index (ASVI) which measures the likely survival of states on their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) without relying on federally collected revenues, especially from the Federation Account.
