Again, give me a QURANIC verse where 72 virgins is promised. The Quran is clear enough on heaven and paradise for anyone who wants to be honest. However, you have chosen to ignore it simply for the reason of being mischievous. The said book took over half its religious quotes from a 'scholar' and decided to add Quranic verses where it suits it. Taking an excerpt and putting in the middle of a different argument is fraudulent. It may interest you that no where in my years of growing up in Islam have I ever heard from any Imam preaching or even talking of any 72 brides in heaven. NEVER. However, you have chosen a single paragraph of an hadith as a weapon of mischief. Perhaps you can spend more time trying to know where hadiths stand in relation to the Quran. Having said that, I am really not surprised by this. You wont be the first, neither will you be the last to be a liar. The Quran talks about people like you alot and you are acting the script so well. |
Author being intentionally mischievous. Even sensible christians know the truth about the paradise promised Muslims. NOWHERE in the Quran is 72 heavenly brides mentioned. This is intentional mischief, just like most of the book. |
Engage people more. BH are not aliens. They live amongst the people and have children who mix. Turn the people against them. Let the media also turn the heat against them. If 30 people die today in BH incidence, people quickly blame the government, thus taking the heat away from the perpetrators. Let us support and comment the security forces when they get it right. We cannot expect anything good if we keep bashing our security forces and thus silently praising BH. If every one who's family member has been killed in Maiduguri decides to turn the heat on the killers, then BH wont last. However, most people seem to side more with BH than with government forces. I find it strange that the families of the brave security men so far killed by BH have had little mention or sympathy. Surely we are not serious as a nation. |
Many BIGOTS here. Yes GEJ is inactive, Yes GEJ looks dull, but how do we expect him to excel if we do not support him? It is very easy to criticise, afterall, we can all see the files on his table. Boko haram issue is not going to be solved until the people stand up for themselves. I am a muslim and it pains me to the bone marrow that these people claim to be for Islam. However, until we all stand up to help the president, we will only wish for better lives. People easily forget this is not military rule where you can do everything gong ho. BH is well known to be concentrated in Maiduguri/Borno axis. If tomorrow, GEJ sends 3 apache to clear out suspected militant camps, I am pretty sure a thread will be opened to discuss how he is wiping out the Northerners. The situation is very volatile and dicey. Any sensible person will see that this man is not having it easy. It is easy to make sweeping decisions, but it takes an intelligent man to make cautious ones. Today's decisions will be the talk of tomorrow. I challenge any of those asking GEJ to resign to propose a solution to BH that will go down well with everyone. |
many people blatantly disrespecting God nowadays especially these willy willy pastors. One said God is a game the other day. Now this one says heaven obeyed man and opened! If heaven should open, who can stay? watch Tsunami videos to see the earth turning slightly and see for yourself. these people really cursing themselves. |
Shame on the Nigerian state for allowing so much space for these fraudsters. I cringe and wonder where the regulators are! Shame on those pastors. Shame on the people high up in authority who turn a blind eye to this advanced 419. Shame on everyone who supports this. Shame on anyone who sees this and does not enlighten people. Shame! |
This case may finally make it to science journals. What was the coccaine wrapped in that it has been so active for so long. The stomach is a highly acidic environment with a temperature that favours degradation. Moreso, the bacteria there can chew most things. How then does baba suwe survive death for so long? |
Why is the match banned from live transmission? |
OH! and that big fat angry snake in the zoo. Last time I paid 20 naira to be left alone with my friends around the animal. The snake pretended to be sleeping and we started beating it with stick. What happened next could have been fatal! Next stop Old Buka. Some massively talented egusi makers who make sure my monthly allowance is spent in a week. |
@dayokanu, you a a well bred greatest Ifite! You bring back memories. What of the sinking building near the zoo? And you were fortunate to also pass though prof Fakunle of 'Iyanfoworogi' and his stories of trekking from UI to Dugbe in his undergraduate years. I miss my great prof. Not that I ever listened to any of his lectures cos the class was always steaming. I went for the laughs and giggles back stage |
Allah knows best. But it is unislamic in many sense. And keeping his body for so long is even more disheartening. Bury the man and stop mocking God! Ghadaffi was subdued by God and not NTC! they have no right not to bury him asap |
How can any sensible person take modern day christianity serious with this gospel of wealth being spread and preached? If over 50% of people going to worship 'God' every sunday go with the intention of having something in return, then why bother about heaven? I thought worship on earth was for heavenly blessings? Reading comments here really explains why it is very easy for people to miss road in christianity. God now plays a backstage role in your churches and money and satan is blatantly worshipped. Imagine someone sowing a seed of an oil rig! Haba. And the 'man of God' collected the seed and did what to it? And the same 'man of God' charges near million per year in his 'church' university. 419 used to be done in secrecy, but nowadays, people buy slots on TV and radio to fleece unsuspecting mugus of their money. I only blame the government who has failed to protect Nigerians from these extortionists. |
I was so waiting for the final whistle at Emirates. Now UTD people. How una dey? |
The destruction has been aided by Wahabism, the austere interpretation of Islam that has served as the kingdom's official religion ever since the al-Sauds rose to power across the Arabian Peninsula in the 19th century. In the eyes of Wahabis, historical sites and shrines encourage "shirq" – the sin of idolatry or polytheism – and should be destroyed. When the al-Saud tribes swept through Mecca in the 1920s, the first thing they did was lay waste to cemeteries holding many of Islam's important figures. They have been destroying the country's heritage ever since. Of the three sites the Saudis have allowed the UN to designate World Heritage Sites, none are related to Islam. Those circling the Kaaba only need to look skywards to see the latest example of the Saudi monarchy's insatiable appetite for architectural bling. At 1,972ft, the Royal Mecca Clock Tower, opened earlier this year, soars over the surrounding Grand Mosque, part of an enormous development of skyscrapers that will house five-star hotels for the minority of pilgrims rich enough to afford them. To build the skyscraper city, the authorities dynamited an entire mountain and the Ottoman era Ajyad Fortress that lay on top of it. At the other end of the Grand Mosque complex, the house of the Prophet's first wife Khadijah has been turned into a toilet block. The fate of the house he was born in is uncertain. Also planned for demolition are the Grand Mosque's Ottoman columns which dare to contain the names of the Prophet's companions, something hardline Wahabis detest. For ordinary Meccans living in the mainly Ottoman-era town houses that make up much of what remains of the old city, development often means the loss of their family home. Non-Muslims cannot visit Mecca and Medina, but The Independent was able to interview a number of citizens who expressed discontent over the way their town was changing. One young woman whose father recently had his house bulldozed described how her family was still waiting for compensation. "There was very little warning; they just came and told him that the house had to be bulldozed," she said. Another Meccan added: "If a prince of a member of the royal family wants to extend his palace he just does it. No one talks about it in public though. There's such a climate of fear." Dr Alawi hopes the international community will finally begin to wake up to what is happening in the cradle of Islam. "We would never allow someone to destroy the Pyramids, so why are we letting Islam's history disappear?" Under Threat Bayt al-Mawlid When the Wahabis took Mecca in the 1920s they destroyed the dome on top of the house where the Prophet Mohammed was born. It was thenused as a cattle market before being turned into a library after a campaign by Meccans. There are concerns that the expansion of the Grand Mosque will destroy it once more. The site has never been excavated by archaeologists. Ottoman and Abasi columns of the Grand Mosque Slated for demolition as part of the Grand Mosque expansion, these intricately carved columns date back to the 17th century and are the oldest surviving sections of Islam's holiest site. Much to the chagrin of Wahabis, they are inscribed with the names of the Prophet's companions. Ottomon Mecca is now rapidly disappearing Al-Masjid al-Nawabi For many years, hardline Wahabi clerics have had their sites set on the 15th century green dome that rests above the tomb holding the Prophet, Abu Bakr and Umar in Medina. The mosque is regarded as the second holiest site in Islam. Wahabis, however, believe marked graves are idolatrous. A pamphlet published in 2007 by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, endorsed by Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, stated that "the green dome shall be demolished and the three graves flattened in the Prophet's Masjid". Jabal al-Nour A mountain outside Mecca where Mohammed received his first Koranic revelations. The Prophet used to spend long spells in a cave called Hira. The cave is particularly popular among South Asian pilgrims who have carved steps up to its entrance and adorned the walls with graffiti. Religious hardliners are keen to dissuade pilgrims from congregating there and have mooted the idea of removing the steps and even destroying the mountain altogether |
Mecca for the rich: Islam's holiest site 'turning into Vegas' Historic and culturally important landmarks are being destroyed to make way for luxury hotels and malls, reports Jerome Taylor Behind closed doors – in places where the religious police cannot listen in – residents of Mecca are beginning to refer to their city as Las Vegas, and the moniker is not a compliment. Over the past 10 years the holiest site in Islam has undergone a huge transformation, one that has divided opinion among Muslims all over the world. Once a dusty desert town struggling to cope with the ever-increasing number of pilgrims arriving for the annual Hajj, the city now soars above its surroundings with a glittering array of skyscrapers, shopping malls and luxury hotels. To the al-Saud monarchy, Mecca is their vision of the future – a steel and concrete metropolis built on the proceeds of enormous oil wealth that showcases their national pride. Yet growing numbers of citizens, particularly those living in the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina, have looked on aghast as the nation's archaeological heritage is trampled under a construction mania backed by hardline clerics who preach against the preservation of their own heritage. Mecca, once a place where the Prophet Mohamed insisted all Muslims would be equal, has become a playground for the rich, critics say, where naked capitalism has usurped spirituality as the city's raison d'être. Few are willing to discuss their fears openly because of the risks associated with criticising official policy in the authoritarian kingdom. And, with the exceptions of Turkey and Iran, fellow Muslim nations have largely held their tongues for fear of of a diplomatic fallout and restrictions on their citizens' pilgrimage visas. Western archaeologists are silent out of fear that the few sites they are allowed access to will be closed to them. But a number of prominent Saudi archaeologists and historians are speaking up in the belief that the opportunity to save Saudi Arabia's remaining historical sites is closing fast. "No one has the balls to stand up and condemn this cultural vandalism," says Dr Irfan al-Alawi who, as executive director of the Islamic Heritage Research Foundation, has fought in vain to protect his country's historical sites. "We have already lost 400-500 sites. I just hope it's not too late to turn things around." Sami Angawi, a renowned Saudi expert on the region's Islamic architecture, is equally concerned. "This is an absolute contradiction to the nature of Mecca and the sacredness of the house of God," he told the Reuters news agency earlier this year. "Both [Mecca and Medina] are historically almost finished. You do not find anything except skyscrapers." Dr Alawi's most pressing concern is the planned £690m expansion of the Grand Mosque, the most sacred site in Islam which contains the Kaaba – the black stone cube built by Ibrahim (Abraham) that Muslims face when they pray. Construction officially began earlier this month with the country's Justice Minister, Mohammed al-Eissa, exclaiming that the project would respect "the sacredness and glory of the location, which calls for the highest care and attention of the servants or Islam and Muslims". The 400,000 square metre development is being built to accommodate an extra 1.2 million pilgrims each year and will turn the Grand Mosque into the largest religious structure in the world. But the Islamic Heritage Foundation has compiled a list of key historical sites that they believe are now at risk from the ongoing development of Mecca, including the old Ottoman and Abbasi sections of the Grand Mosque, the house where the Prophet Mohamed was born and the house where his paternal uncle Hamza grew up. There is little argument that Mecca and Medina desperately need infrastructure development. Twelve million pilgrims visit the cities every year with the numbers expected to increase to 17 million by 2025. But critics fear that the desire to expand the pilgrimage sites has allowed the authorities to ride roughshod over the area's cultural heritage. The Washington-based Gulf Institute estimates that 95 per cent of Mecca's millennium-old buildings have been demolished in the past two decades alone. |
Pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam. However, in recent times, it seems like the rich are taking over and pushing the poor to the side. Islam is a religion of all and opulence is played down. In Nigeria, the politicians make trips to Mecca and some spend stolen money in renting expensive hotels and clearly this is not acceptable in Islam. My main concern is that many landmarks in Mecca are being pulled down to accomodate the taste of the elite (personal opinion). The Saud family seem to be warming to the American Mega city idea with little regards for Islamic landmark sites. They believe it is shirq to keep some landmarks. The article I will post will highlight more on this issue. Intelligent contributions most appreciated. |

France is certainly up to something. But my glorious Quran tells me it is a fail. They will be ridiculed at the end of the day. For those calling for such laws in Nigeria, I really agree with you. Bigger mosques needed. And those blocking the express road will also have to do something about it. Why are we so hypocritical? I admit it is wrong to block a road just because of solat. If the crowd is too much, then build a bigger masjid. However, there are ways to address this rather than place a ban on muslims praying outside. This will surely fuel religious hatred as already witnessed on this forum. It is a pity that some religion exposes alot of people's ignorance. Today, it is Muslims, tomorrow, it might be you! I guess the french now see that more people attend mosques on fridays than churches on sundays! it is now a general trend in Europe. Nothing anyone can do about it because you cannot deceive people forever. |
@uplawal, it is stated in the Quran and corroborated in history that the holy prophet(SAW) is unlettered. Amongst other verses in the Quran, check suratul Al-Araf, ayat 157-158 (i.e Quran 7: 157-158) |
As for the men, I dont think anyone who cannot run sub-10 should represent Nigeria. We have our best sprinters now going to Qatar and other countries because our administrators have their own boys. Metu and Egwero are not 100m runners. They are best fit in 400m. But they will not listen. If a Nigerian was running 9.85 just few years ago, is it development that the ones who now represent us cannot even run 10.10? its a big shame and I think the athletics body should not present any male sprinters till we allow the real sprinters take the stage. Moreso, football is doing the damage. Ahmed Musa would have been an easy 10 seconds runner if only he chose athletics. |
So Damola finally beat Blessing! Brilliant stuff. Now Blessing can have some respect and allow Damola anchor the final legs of the relay races. For now, Damola is the fastest Nigerian woman. Blessing struggles to dip below 11 seconds and Damola has done that 3 times this season! |
YES Nigeria can be transformed in 18 months. Kill corruption, manage oil revenues better, invest massively in agriculture and improve security. Every other thing will start falling in place, and oh NEPA! |
If student life is as it was during the last decades, then I have nothing to fear. If UI has a strong student union liaising well with the student religion bodies, they can easily curtail the BH boys. However, I urge every student of the great UI to be vigilant. Moreso, knowing that BH specialises in car bombs, I think it is better to restrict vehicular movement within the university and only 'certified' vehicles should be allowed in. I also suggest a check-point for vehicles is set up further from the entrances of UI both at the Agbowo entrance and Barika junction and other entrances. UI is a large institution with very porous borders, but only few vehicular access points. The UI central mosque governing body needs to be vigilant. UI boasts of very brilliant people in charge of its MSSN and I have full confidence in their ability to fish out any suspicious members amongst them. Moreover, other tertiary institutions in Nigeria should be extra vigilant. SW especially as we are very accomodating. Ibadan Poly, Lead City Uni, School of Nursing, School of Hygiene, etc should also be vigilant. BH is our collective problem and only togetherness can solve it. |
The other proofs on the website are as ridiculously thin as the ones stated above. Khalifa chose to do some maths application somewhere and neglected them in others. Inconsistency is the word! In some instances, he just looked at the digits as a whole. In other instances, he added each digit to reach a sum divisible by 19. Serious inconsistencies cannot be from the Perfect God. May Allah lead us right. Amin. |
Fact 5: (This got me angry!) Fact 5. The same as Fact 3, except take Friday as the first day of the week, instead of the last day. The resultant number is also a multiple of 19: Fri Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu 1 15 2 17 3 17 4 17 5 17 6 17 7 17 = 19 x, Right, I was getting interested in this because it seemed khalifa was ready to prove his theory by substitution to involve all parameters. However, he didnt. SO now, this theory fits in for when Friday is 1st and last days of the week, but not in the middle? Basically what you are saying is that the formula works for x=1 and x=7, but not for x=2, x=3, x=4, x=5 and x=6. Formula proven in 28.6% of specimen and disproven in 71.4% of specimen. Usisky, again this your religious facts cannot stand a test of maths. |
Fact 4: In above table, replace every 17 by 24434 which represents the individual units of daily prayers for Saturday through Thursday, and replace 15 by 22434 which represents the individual units of prayers for Friday. The resultant number is also a multiple of 19: Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri 1 24434 2 24434 3 24434 4 24434 5 24434 6 24434 7 22434 = 19 x, Like I stated in my last post, this is disproven once Friday is not seen as last day of the week. This is again not applicable worldwide! Only some middle eastern countries begin their week on saturday! Your religion is for middle east only? NO? prove it! |
FACT 3 and its flaws: Fact 3. Let us insert the number of the day before the units of prayer in each day. The resultant number is also a multiple of 19: Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri 1 17 2 17 3 17 4 17 5 17 6 17 7 15 = 19 x, Questions: In UK, week starts on Monday. That makes friday day 5. Hence 515 instead of 715. So we have the following : 117, 217, 317, 417, 515, 617, 717. This number is not divisible by 19. Hence you will need to prove that God starts the week on Saturday. If you do not provide such proof, this fact is throw out of the window! (In anger!) Other countries have 10 day week, some start their week on Sunday, hence substituting the 715 with 615, again disrupting Dr Khalifa's maths! |
Fact 2 of Khalifa's mathematically flawed religion: The total number of units prayed each day is 17. However, on Fridays the Congregational Prayer replaces the noon prayer. This prayer has only two units instead of the usual four units of noon prayer, because of the Friday sermon. Thus, the total units prayed on Friday is 15. Now, let us take every day of the week, from Saturday to Friday (assuming Friday being the last day of the week), and write down the number of units prayed each day. The resultant number is a multiple of 19: Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri 17 17 17 17 17 17 15 = 19 x, What about people who do not observe jumat prayers?. Was there Jumat prayers before Mohammed SAW? if yes, provide proofs. If I miss my Jumat prayers or my mum does not attend jumat, that adds 2 to the final sum. Hence invalidating the 19nism. A rigid religion? Like I said, you must be ready to prove these things if you claim its water tight. Maths does not need God to be involved to prove it. We can use common sense. |
The more you read about this religion of Khalifa, the more you see for yourself that it is build on a very shaky foundation. It cannot stand the test of time. It cannot even stand the test of mathematicians. This is a religion where everything 19 is significant. So here comes the maths of solat according to Khalifa. The units of daily Salat prayers consist of 2, 4, 4, 3, and 4 units, a total of 17 units. The number 24434 is a multi-ple of 19: 2 4 4 3 4 = 19 x 1286 The digits of 1286 add up to 17, the total number of units prayed each day (1+2+8+6 = 17). What I see in the above calculation is a desperation to find the number 19. I remember once doing the mathematics of 'prove'. It also beggars believe that the mathematics employed by Khalifa is decimal maths. Maybe his followers can try hexa-decimal or even binary! That might help them see a clearer light. Where in the Quran does Allah(SWT) order us to use the decimal numerics? Where in the Quran did Allah say that once we get to 10, we start again from 1. If indeed 19 is the magic number, then 19 should be the limit and not 10 as we use it. This religion of Dr Khalifa has laid its foundation on the mathematics of 19. This is very very easy to disprove on many levels. You will notice I'm standing solely on the mathematics aspect of the religion. Not bringing Quran into it yet. The other proofs are just a merry-go-round. No serious mathematician or scientist will take those proofs serious. Because it conveniently removes numbers and replaces them at will so as to arrive at a multiple of 19. |
See I was willing to learn about your 19inism religion until I read and saw in your video that the Quran is adulterated. You follow the Quran, but removed verses from it because it did not conform with Dr Khalifa's mathematical merry-go-round. Subhannallah!. And you expect to be taken serious? I personally feel you are not talking about Islam, rather, you are part of a movement founded by Dr Khalifa. You like the muslim Quran, but do not agree with somethings in it. In that case, ' Lakum deenukum waliya deeni'. Case closed. |
