Bottom line of story: Take a decent woman from Nigeria and bring her to UK (London especially), then you will see a transformation within months. You just have to pray my brother. So many times men have had to call their friends in the night so they dont sleep on the streets. As for me, I believe you need to work twice as hard to re-establish control. You lost it right at the beginning by not stamping it out right from day 1. I believe if you had refused violence and perhaps ignored her for a month after the first incidence, she will think twice before the second. I think you need to stay more around men in south London to learn how to keep a wife. You're not alone my brother, but you need to man up this time. Its her choice now: either she calms down and remains married, or she stays on her high horses and joins the club of single ladies in London. And if she had been here for sometime, she knows she becomes a toy in the hands of London men if she chooses to stay single. She is very lucky indeed and she's only doing this because you spoilt her. There are many ways to deal with women without raising a hand. For Nigerian women, it is even easier. You need to be nasty at times too. Your nastiness is not to hurt her, but to make her realise how lucky she is. Again, remember: to keep a London wife, you must be ready to behave like a London husband. Simple |
Dapolam, this is an opportunity for you to prove to people that the youths can do it. While I have reservations about your younger brother and the way he behaved while your dad was in power, I pray you prove us all wrong. You know what I mean. If you can keep a low profile and get on with your job. I wish not to hear of you building houses around Iyaganku/Agodi GRA areas, but I want to hear that you have refurbished Lekan Salami stadium. I want to hear that you have engaged the youths from Challenge to Agodi to Mokola to Ojoo. I want to see you as an action commisioner, use one decent car and mix freely with people. Come down from your high horses and SERVE. May Allah (SWT) guide you right. You have a chance to shoot up your political career. Haven said all that, I will be the first to curse you the day I find out you have stolen from Oyo State. I believe your family has taken enough from the state purse for you to live decent. No more stealing, just go there and act. Stay away from friends/family. If possible, distance yourself from your aburo and be your man. Daddy cannot stand up for you this time. Again, I wish you all the best. |
This is more of the Arsenal I like to see. Strong, determined, disciplined play. I guess this is the season we will have a goal for every 2 shots on goals. There is an obvious improvement |
And I will like to commend Mr Frosbel for his brilliant efforts at making people turn to Islam. You are doing a great job with your ridiculous lies and silly write-ups. It is making people wake up to look for the truth as regards Islam. It strengthens Muslims and challenges non-Muslims. I like you alot for that. The Quran talks about people like you alot. Welldone! |
Regarding the marriage of Mohammed SAW to Aisha, I have just one thing to add. If indeed it was a 'wrong' thing then, there would have been a public outcry. I do not care the age or marriage, I care about the reaction of the community. We cannot compare norms of previous centuries to current norms. The one marriage issue which caused a debate amongst the people during the prophet(SAW) time was his marriage to Zaynab. Some people felt it was wrong at that time. However, Allah revealed a verse (I think in Suratul Ah-Zab), which was to expose what was in the Prophet's mind. If the prophet(SAW) was to conceal anything, it would have been this verse as it bothers on his concealed thoughts. However, Allah clarified issues then to serve as a model for people afterwards. It is with this logic that I believe that Aisha's marriage was not an issue bothering on morality at all. In fact, it was well received. |
Almost same way I got deeply rooted in Islam. In fact, it is curiousity from the falsehood people spread on the web and media about Islam that made me really start learning about Islam. I just found a completely different peaceful religion as I had been thought in Nigeria. It is funny how 'crusades' against Islam seem to be drawing people closer to Islam. Nowadays when I watch some propaganda youtube videos about Islam's ills, I just laugh because I had learnt more about Islam and found them to be completely false. Its also on nairaland, and for now, I just laugh and refer to some verses in the Quran where it is stated that some people will behave like this and it is not new. |

I just read and watched a report on BBC newsnight about this London riot discussions. Basically, an historian, David Starkey has been so messed up in his white supremacist world that he feels the riots spread across UK because 'whites' are now embracing 'black' culture. He obviously couldnt differentiate between the various 'blacks'. Moreso, in his very tiny thinking faculty, he feels black culture means vandalism, looting, and many vices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bAGTE_RGN4c My question is: Is he right? Are 'blacks' really bad? Do the 'white' still see 'blacks' as intellectually backward? The books of history which have always described 'blacks' as numb and dumb were written by 'whites'. These books are still in circulation. Is it about time 'blacks' stood up to have these books removed? Is it about time 'blacks' start writing books glorifying themselves? Which way my people? |
'Awon omo ORO'. Peckham has been neglected so much by the government. About time people told them they exist. BTW I think I heard the voice of my barber. I am very confident Nigerians in Peckham didnt loot. They only stood and watched and perhaps clapped. |
If you insist on fasting during a journey, then you break your fast when the sun sets at your current destination (I think). But Allah has made it easy for people travelling and no need turning down Allah's charity. I think you are entitled not to fast on such an occasion. |
If you think we Igbos are going to vote for Ngige, then you can forget it.
Well, then we can count another 50 years of being 'secretary of state' or toothless Biafra champions. You need to wake up and smell the coffee. Nigeria is moving and we're not in 1970 anymore. Vote for who you like, I am quite confident a Yoruba man will be in Aso Rock within the next 3 elections, cant say such about Igbo though. |
If indeed Fashola is 'rested' and an Igbo presidency develops enough storm, then Ngige will be a good sell. He has the sympathy of SW and hopefully his Igbo brothers can get themselves together to support one of their own. NC can produce the VC. I will especially choose a Kwaran to gather enough Yoruba votes, Muslim votes, Middlebelt votes, and worry less about the NW and NE. It is obvious now that the politics of any candidate from NE and NW anytime soon is going to be that of religion and tribe/region, hardly on any substance. Until a real MAN comes out of NW/NE region, I doubt they can get the sympathy of Nigerian voters. By real man, I mean someone ready to offer his brain and not his tribe as an election manifesto. |
Buruj Al Arab in Dubai, |
chinxsee:How much were you trying to make from Quran competitions? Am sure forumites can contribute money for you. We should all endeavour to learn the Quran for our deen and the hereafter. Its too good a book to learn to 50,000 naira competitions. |
Let the conservative be deceiving themselves and arresting all youths. True its looting, true its criminal, but also true is that there is ANGER in the middle class. When this one stops, another will be around very soon. NottingHill carnival year yi ma yato. They better import police from Nigeria becos the ones here cant cope on that day! BTW I think the Libyan Government should recognise the looters as the legitimate government in UK |
a Juhz a day? 30 juhz in 30 days. taking it calmly and trying to understand it better than last year |
How objective are they? I think the quality of graduates should take precedence over employment prospects. Moreover, I do not think this ranking means Nigerian universities are not amongst the top, it only means we do not put our research online as much as we should. I think a reasonable ranking will have at least 3 Nigerian universities in top 10. |
According to Yoruba tradition, one of the reasons why we have children is so that they defend us in our absence. I want to believe pa Adesanya and Uncle Bola have brilliant children who can reply this jailbird. Trying to rubbish Yoruba elders in desperation will only worsen his case. I can bet that the video about to be shown really doesnt have any tangible evidence. Probably just a video of Uncle Bola meeting a general |
Have you seen the Devil before? How do you know he is the epitome of evil? All bad things that I have done, I, and only I, alone am responsible for them. And I never said I would worship the Devil! I said I would rather. . .Please, reread my previous comment. Like I said, I have no intention of worshiping a sadistic God. Even the Devil would't throw you in hell for an eternity. Only the Christian God entertains such a travesty. And what is the difference between worshiping a vengeful megalomaniac---who is unaptly termed merciful---and the Devil?
You have had many signs of the existence of God and the certainty of hell. You have stubbornly chosen to ignore these signs. Quran talks about people like this alot. Even in sleeping and waking up you should see the power of God. |
43% of Lagosians are Igbo? when a lie goes on for a long time, it smarts to smell like truth. If Igbo is 43%, Yoruba 47%, Hausa<10%? No way! Yoruba is still >70% Lagos. Fact! |
NIGERIA lands softy in world cup draw? Group F : Nigeria, Malawi, Kenya(probably)/Seychilles, Djibouti/Namibia. We need to top the table to have any chance. Looks good if our players face it from the start. We then go on to the final tough stage of a home and away draw with a country like Ghana/CIV, etc. |
The vague Hague has goofed again. Foreign secretary shouldnt be for men with no foresight. Its obvious the TNC cannot rule Libya. Its like having a Northern militia oust Jonathan and then appoint one of them to rule Nigeria. It wont work. Same way OPC could not oust Abacha with force. Anything that needs to be done has to be the people's will, not Hague's vague thoughts |
It is unfortunate that some people who speak on sensitive national issues do not do so state manly. Dr Datti's utterances is unbecoming of a Muslim living in a secular state. Islamic banking came with very very good intentions, at least to me. However, it is really unfortunate that some people saw it as a means for islamization of the nation, while others see it as another battle ground for religious supremacy. It is really unfortunate that we do not have thoughtful leaders. Islam does not need re-establishment in Nigeria. The Nigerian muslim ummah is already strong and really only needs to make Nigeria feel more impact of Islam in nation building and honest, corrupt-free governance. |
is his 4.99 worth a 4.99 from a university like OAU? if not, this is not news |
Yoruba in Benin are as indigenous as Yoruba in Nigeria, just that there is a greater concentration of Yoruba in Nigeria. I personally love the brothers from Benin. They are highly enterprising and 'plainer' than we Yoruba in Nigeria. Nigeria seems to have corrupted us. I think we took over the dishonestly and deceitful ways of the Brits more than any other tribe. The franco-Yoruba in Benin are abit more honest, more aggressive and less education inclined that we anglo-Yoruba. |
frosbel:How recent is recent times? 30 years max of 'uprisings' compared to 100 years minimum of crusader massacres? think broad and you will liberate yourself my brother. |
Evil Brain:YOu, sir, are not thoughtful enough to be regarded as intelligent. If only you extend you radar to 50 years back, you can then talk about who the persistent set of killers are. And maybe then, you will understand abit more about the world you live in. |
Absolutely spot-on @OP. I remember when this new first broke out. Every pundit, commentator and what nots on BBC and other media houses were searching for links with Islam. Some said a group related to Al-Qaeda have claimed responsibility. Others said the Muslims are now protesting Norway's NATO links, others said Gadaffi is suspect. I'm not surprised the 'Murdoch Puppet' already made an headline accusing Al-Qaeda. Its a shame on the western media. They no longer have class. I remember BBC once called Nelson Mandela a 'terrorist', but today, a statue of Mandela is in Westminster. Such is the way the western media act. If you're with them, you're a dove, an angel. If you're against, you're a monster, terrorist, etc. |
1st step to being a billionaire: save your 1st thousand and make it produce another thousand. If you can do that, you can be a billionaire. Dont thing too big, think small, then build big. Dont expect to be a Dangote but just do things as they come. If you're destined to be a billionaire, things you touch will become gold. If not, you will run and run and only grow frustrated in the process. However, I think its gross delusion to set out wanting to be a billionaire. Perhaps if you set out to do a little thing the best way, you can master it and convince the world about it. |
This is an issue that I want my brothers and sisters to enlighten me about. Case Study: A muslim brother proposes to a muslim sister. She says Yes. However, she later got to find out that the brother had pre-marital sex with some of his exs. She terms the brother an 'adulterer' even though the brother stopped since. She quoted a verse in the Quran which says Adulterer for Adulteress. My question to brothers and sisters here is this: Who is defined as an adulterer in this verse? Should the brother who had a bad past know fully that he doesnt deserve a 'non-adulterous' believing woman? |
