@nwaka77 good comment
@excanny YOUR MUM IS CALLING YOU Leave sunch and azeeza and other igbiras alone to sort themselves out, this would be better than giving pple a closed-minded opinion. every tribe has its ups and downs.
@sunch 1. Instead of asking about a tribe/group of pple on the net, of which pple will confuse you, why dont you find time to travel to the person's place (maybe 2 wks) and see things for yourself 2. Study the lady as an individual not as a tribe 3. Stay away to cliff to your angelic tribe that you are sure of.
This is computer age, one million and one things we knew about each other are no longer practiced and can be an opposite of their present lifestyle. |

Politics › Re: Leave Emeagwali Alone, Haters: Soyinka & Achebe Do Not Have PhD Degrees. by oludashmi(f): 2:30pm On Nov 09, 2010 |
DapoBear: Basically, you are confusing two different titles, people can cal you "Doctor" once you have a PhD. People can call you "Professor" if a university decides to hire you as a Professor. In the hard sciences/engineering a PhD is usually a prerequisite to being hired as a Prof. In fields like literature, law, journalism, they are not. You don't even need to necessarily even have any degree to be a professor of literature; in literature, you are primarily judged on the strength of the works you've written.
Anyway, Emeagwali is in the hard sciences/engineering, where a PhD is required before becoming a Professor, while Soyinka and Achebe are writers, where the PhD is not.
In fact, nobody can call Emeagwali a Professor, since he was never hired as a tenure-tracked professor at any university. At best, he could be called "Doctor." And this is only if he earned a PhD somewhere. I'm not even sure if an honorary doctorate allows you to be called "Doctor", I'm a bit fuzzy about the protocol for honorary degrees. ANSWERED! |
Politics › Re: 5 Reasons Why Arewa Republic Will Fail by oludashmi(f): 2:24pm On Nov 09, 2010 |
auwal87: Let me start from the bottom up.
Your points are not qualified at all, you know why Arewa people are not doing anything at the moment? Because they are Lazy, do you know why they are Lazy? Because of Oil.
5- IBB and Co are all going to die soon, new fresh bloods will emerge soon, with hearts of courage to empower our people
4- Arewa unlike any other Muslim countries are far more liberal, some few bad elements emerge because of poverty and seeking name only, but Arewa will be just like Turkey in Europe, or Malaysia in Asia, or Bahrain in Middle East.
3- Almajirai are a great resource for Arewa Republic, in no time, they will disappear from the streets, 65% that is not fear, we have more civil servants than any region in Nigeria, go to the ministries in Abuja and other states of Arewa, they are all from Arewa (at least 90%). This is the reality, we have qualified doctors, qualified engineers (go to ABU Zaria and see those behind the Nuclear project, they are all from Arewa), we have Business Gurus (Arewa even though it doesn't have sea ports, most of the distributions are carried from here, I have never seen someone traveling from Arewa to Odua or Biafra to purchase imported food stuffs, but you will see lots of them coming to Arewa to purchase imported stuffs, go to Singer market in Kano, you will see what I am telling you, that markets carries transactions worth billions of naira every single day, why? Because we consume. See Arewa, only those who are ignorant about the country will tell you we only have Almajirai. Because that's what you see in the south.
2- NO! A big NO! Oil is only a curse to Nigeria, only the wicked countries look at Nigeria with like that. The good countries want Nigeria to get their facts right, abandon oil, or at least depend less on oil, develop other sectors, generate employment. You see having an Oil in Nigeria is only a curse to Arewa because it made our people lazy and depends heavily on salaries and revenues from the federal government. But by the time there is no oil, people will understand, and they will wake up to the reality. They will ask question to themselves. What about if this people abandon us, what should we tell our children and grand children, what have we done for them?
1- Yes, Landlocked, but see also in Europe:::: Andorra Armenia Austria Belarus Czech Republic Vatican City (Holy See) Hungary Liechtenstein Luxembourg Moldova San Marino Serbia Slovakia Switzerland
They are all landlocked countries. Aren't they better than Nigeria in terms of Anything?
Boy, wake up, Arewa is not what you think it is; Auwal, I love your confidence. I love this comment. I cant do better, but take this
Oil is a curse in Nigeria, without it we will even survive better. Before the discovery of oil, Nigeria lived majorly on cocoa from the SW, then supported by groundnut from the north and rubber and palm oil from the East. Naira as at then was N1 to $1, so whats the need for the oil?
@OP, if the disintegration of Nigeria is what you think of, then it is good for you to know that every part will suffer at first but will later put themselves together to do the right thing. |

@becomerich, you are very right in your post aboveOAM4J: I agree with you 100%.
When wahala burst who no know go know. Wait until wahala burst, we go know who be landlord and who be tenant. Make wahala sele and make Tunde come tell Shehu say him be Fulani or make Emeka tell Tell Akpan say him be Calabar because them get land for those places, we go see if the original owner no go point your baba house for you. Trust me even 'no man's land' for Kano get owner.
If you ask me who owns a city, I will say wait until there is a riot or war, then check those who are leaving and those who are staying, then you will know who the landlords are and who the Tenants are. Somebody please help me interpret this Yoruba adage "Oko o ki nje ti baba ati omo ki o ma ni ala" True. To interprete the boldened . . .Even if a land is owned by a father and son, there is a boundary. |

@sbeezy and akanbi edu, thanks for telling 'men dept' what he didnt know.afam4eva: I'm sorry if i offended anybody. Cos t seems you guys are taking it personal. Maybe i should have posted this in the ethnicity or Religion section cos you guys don't get what i'm getting at. I just cited lagos state being governed by muslims as an example and never said that there's nothing wrong with a muslim ruling Lagos forever. I was just curious as to why people value ethnicity as opposed to Religion. PERIOD. Nigerians can yab sha. Your citation on Lagos state is useless cos all we want is good, effective, and competent governance while religion is left to the individual. Lagosians will never forget Oyinlola's (christian) useless rule. Take a look at the SE where christians have ruled all thru. . .are those not the places where pple run away from daily?

afam4eva: If you were asked to choose just one. It's either your're a Christain or Igbo, Yoruba or Ifa worshipper, Hausa or Muslim. Which would you go for.
Why is it that Nigerians always fight for their ethnicities like rotation of presidency along ethnic lines. Why is no one clamouring for rotation along religious lines. 2. Why is that most of Lagos governors are muslims and christains are not doing anything about it. silly question
Igbos are not christians by nature . . .what happen to the festivals, sacrifices, rituals they offer and idols they worship till date? Europeans got there first before other parts of the country
Yorubas are not ifa worshippers by nature . . .It is the African tradition/culture. . .Arabians got there first before the Europeans Hausas are not muslims by nature . . .they have idols they worship till date. . . Arabians got there first before the Europeans
You ask if someone would choose Christianity/Islam/idols as against race/ethnic . . . in what language will the person communicate, what will be his state of origin, culture and history?
2. What is your business with the religion of the governor? Is that what leadership is all about or competence and achievements? Or is God complaining? |

Simply go to WAEC office for GCE certs
They have a list pasted at the front of the gate, the list shows different exam years from early 90s till date and days of collection (Mon-Fri) depending on the year you are requesting for.
If you know the day for your exam year, just go with N1500 or N2000, and I think there is a form to be filled, make payment and wait . . .you will be given that very day. You will aslo need to go with your centre number and candidate number. |
