OK let's be straight here. Before anyone tries to castigate my opinion or call me names, i am a bonafide Igbo son, born and raised in Igboland. That being said, let my fellow Igbos here not pretend like this issue is not one that has been plaguing Igbos for a long time. Growing up in Enugu, all the so called ''agbenu'' people (people from Anambra State) were notorious for having several maids that they treat like mere dogs. I saw this while growing up and still saw it before leaving Nigeria. These wicked demons called ''madams and oga'' treat these poor kids like trash. Some even go to the extent of pouring hot boiling water on these poor house-helps or using hot burnt rod on them, things you wouldn't even do to animals. They do all these while courting their own kids as living treasures. I was raised poor but even while not having much, my parents, being really educated, swore never to let any of their kids be sent away to such slavery. These demons even have the audacity sometimes to approach my parents asking for one of my siblings as maid (can you imagine) while their own kids are there, bunch of lazy b.a.s.t.a.r.d.s. I am seriously not surprised that the couple involved are from Anambra states. These people, over the years have had that disgusting impression that they are the achievers of Igboland and other Igbos should see them as their lords. Even the poorest and dirtiest looking ones among them would look at people from say Enugu or Ebonyi and demean them, calling them primitive. That is why you see these godforsaken demons of madams and ogas prowling the villages of Enugu and other Igbo states looking for slaves to cart away. But times have changed. Anambra should put their house in order. Most ills and vices in the east are from there. These guys are grossly illiterate and their wives are just lazy Zap.s. who can't do jack but surround themselves with maids they torture to hell. It's about time this issue comes to light. I lived my whole live in Enugu, listening to the cries and wailings of housegirls and boys being brutalized every night while the people turn a blind eye. Enough is enough That being said, i can rightly say that these devil incarnates that deprived this kid of life should burn in hell for all i care.
Hmmmnnn |
The triplets delivered three days ago by Mrs Tatsuma Jubril in Damaturu, Yobe State are in critical conditions. This is the state of most of our hospitals. What should have been a source of joy to families now become burdens. |
It is already more than a week and still counting cos they say the traffic will be there till Sept. 13 |

(CNN) -- Think you had a hellish commute this morning? Just be thankful you're not in China, where a traffic jam stretching more than 100 km (62 miles) has forced drivers to keep their feet planted on brake pedals for nine days. The gridlock, which started August 14, involves thousands of trucks between the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Chinese capital of Beijing, according to state media. Fender-benders and broken-down vehicles are adding to the chaos, state media reported. Some drivers played cards to pass the time, while others fumed about nearby vendors taking advantage of their predicament by gouging food prices. Still, some opted to not take detours to avoid farther travel and toll costs. Traffic congestion is a common problem in China. But construction on a section of the Beijing-Tibet Expressway has forced more traffic to National Expressway 110, which runs roughly parallel. Roads leading to Beijing are particularly notorious for turning into parking lots. "If there's no traffic jam in the city, that would be news," Niu Fengrui, director of the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told state media. "Our government should pick up the pace of urban infrastructure construction and spend some of its budget," he said. But drivers are nowhere near the finish line. Construction is scheduled to continue until September 13. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/08/23/china.traffic.jam/index.html?section=cnn_latest#fbid=jTr0zXs8Aez&wom=false |
kemisuga:You have never seen fire burn before abi Or fire accident makes things finer than they were? ![]() The buildings are very big and nice at Omole round about, owned by Murhi International. I have been in several time for who wants to be a millionaire audience, its just too nice and spacious a studio. |
abhosts:Good! False! Look at Hannah. Your mind is now in connection with God not the shout. You know it is easier to be in church and not be in touch. |
You must have always noted people concentrating to your prayer contents if you have always lost concentration while praying to your God. When you loose concentration in prayer, you break the link btw you and the one you are communication to. Just like you making call and suddenly you stop talking, the one on the other end (God) will keep saying "hello, hello" and then drop the line cos you were carried away. |
EzeUche22:What was the outcome of your last war? Did you just read how Jackson Ude wrote a display of your intelligence indeed? Read again frm the HEADLINE. |
NOTE! I COPIED THIS FRM COMMENTS ON THE NIGERIANFILMS SITE NonyeMY COMMENT Now, should these pple be withdrawn frm the characters they act too cos they ar not Igbos and act Igbo cahracters in movies, see Pete is just being bitter and jealous for nothing. He even condemned the state government for choosing young pple as advisers. |
ceejayclas:where did you get your highest degree frm? frm the war front? have you forgotten that yorubas are the most educated in Nig cos our elders stated with free education while your elders where investing war. At the same time, wht have you too done for your tribe? |
To prove that the man is just an envious fool, read what he said about his fellow Igbo men chosen as Advisers as if they have nothing to offer the state. Can he do all things alone or what has become of the rebranding Nig nonsense that he chairs? |
IBB is yet to know he is being deceived. You guys should collect your share of his loots. ![]() |
Good move towards better economy only if they will be truthful to the finance derived from the lovely project. |
Pete Edochie should close his mouth. Is it today that Olu J. began acting or what was he looking at all these years the man has been acting and now that the man has made his name he wants to spoil it. If he can act better than Olu, let him declare himself better to the producers. Acting is not supposed to be a strictly narrowed thing thru race or tribe, anybody can act any character in as much as he can do it well and the producer and director approves of him. Does it mean all those acting American films are Americans or hasnt he seen Nigerians acting European films whereas they are not even white. |
Ladyjide:Yes I didnt know that was why I said "is your husband aware of this show this to him bla bla bla". But the remaining part of the reply was not by mistake cos I directed them to your response not the initial post. I have checked the blog anyway. |
Very pathetic but I think the state government should have supported this people financially. I am sure those ones missing are among the burnt beyond recognition ![]() Many women would have lost their lives too as a result of their weave-on notwithstanding even a cloth will catch fire not until you wear weave-on. May God give their families the heart to bear it just as God will not fail to punish all the policemen involved from generation to generation afterall Frank Mba is always covering them. |
Swathe in bandage, one of the survivors of the Shangisha Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident in which scores died, relives her ordeal on her hospital bed, reports Wale Adepoju The lay on her bed writhing in pains. Her moans drew sympathy from other patients and visitors in her ward. She was heavily bandaged. Only her head and face were not bandaged. What happened to her? First time visitors to the ward, asked in whispers. Mrs Folake Yahaya, however, seemed oblivious of what was going on around her. She never knew she would end up in an hospital when she set out for Lagos from Ondo penultimate week. Her mission to Lagos was simple: to buy aso ebi (uniform attire) for the funeral of her late father. Everything went well up till last Sunday morning when she boarded a vehicle at Ojota Motor Park for the return trip to Ondo, her base where she sells clothing materials. Few minutes after the vehicle took off, it was involved in an accident in which over 40 persons were reported to have died. The scene was Shangisha Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. But for luck, Mrs. Yahaya, mother of two, would have joined her late father. The fair-skinned woman is at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, where she relived her ordeal to The Nation. Mrs Yahaya said: "The lorry climbed over our bus and a man who sat beside the driver jumped out through the window. I tried to do the same through the door but it was difficult. So, I threw myself down through the widow but the ‘weave on’ I attached to my hair caught fire. "I had to jump over another car with fire all over me, until Mr. Lukman, a Good Samaritan, came to my rescue. I was taken to Sky High, a hospital at Magodo not far from the scene of the accident where I was given first aid before I was transferred to LUTH. I have been here since Sunday night. I gave my mother’s cell phone number to Mr. Lukman, who called her". In her condition, she cut a pitiable sight. Mrs Yahaya is unable to change her position or move her body. She could neither feed nor urinate on her own. She lamented: "Look at me, I have to rely on people before I could even urinate. It is really a shame but it is nobody’s fault." Her brother, Mr. Bankole Ogunode, who saw her off to the motor park, was still in shock. He said: "When I got the distress call, it knocked me off balance. I couldn’t believe my ears. The only thing I did was to pray and wait on God for a miracle. Thank God she is still alive though in serious pains as she lies on her bed in the same position since Monday. " Though Mrs Yahaya is alive, her condition has dug a big hole in the family’s finance. "When they took my sister to the hospital at Magodo, the only thing they gave her was first aid treatment. "We paid N10, 000 because it was an emergency situation. Life is worth more than money. We have spent over N200, 000 for her treatment here in LUTH. Now we have just been told to go and have her blood samples tested. The doctor attending to her said it must be done today. What happens if we can not get the money?" Ogunode asked. To worsen matters, the survivor is the bread winner of her family. "My sister is the bread winner of her family. She is currently sponsoring the education of her children-Biola and Bose. Biola is a pupil of the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, Kaduna State; Bose is in primary five. She is schooling in Ondo State." Doctors said his condition is stable. Mrs Yahaya is appealing to the Federal and state governments to assist her financially. "My family and me cannot bear the financial burden. We have spent much and we are still spending daily. They (Federal and state governments should please come to my aid", Mrs Yahaya pleaded. Meanwhile, a 26- year-old student lawyer, Mr. Adebayo Ologunti, who was believed to be in one of the vehicles that caught fire, has been declared missing by his family. Ologunti, who is currently in the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, was reported to have attended a church programme at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He left the event to visit his younger sister in Lagos. But since he left his younger sister on Sunday morning for Ondo, his mobile phone has remained switched off. His name was found on a bus manifest in Ojota motor park by his family, fuelling suspicion that he might have been a victim of the accident. Ologunti’s elder sister, Moji is terrified that something might have happened to her brother, who she described as the pride of the family. http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/news/10660.html |
OH!! Ladyjide, I (and several other people) actually thought it was your experience cos your reply too wasnt that clear but I will go there and do my comments. thanks. APOLOGY MADAM. |
Ladyjide:LADYJIDE! good you replied, I love your courage read the boldened parts one by one.1. If you didnt see anything wrong in it, why were you so nervous about it before and on that day? 2. It may be that serious and even if it is not, I (and many of us) have seen few ladies who didnt kneel on their day but it never made NEWS on any media cos pple tend to overlook some things but you are actually making NEWS out of your arrogance by coming here to announce it much so that you have been married for some time now but your conscience still wouldnt rest. Your legs wouldnt have been amputated for a 3-sec kneel afterall and wouldnt have changed your name or look. Before the advent of cakes, women used to kneel to feed husbands with palm wine, kolanut etc.3. What is your worth? A billion dollars or pounds? Going by worth, I doubt if you are and can ever be as ambitious and independent as I am but I am trying to put so many things in place so that I can have a good home (not a demi-god as husband or slave-master but a friend and supporter of our goals) and still achieve all I have ahead of me cos imitating a white woman will only make me end like her (they change husbands like cloths and are never at peace all in the name of equality). 4. Yes! he is not God. But 3-5 secs kneel (just to feed cake) will not make him God either afterall you have knelt for someone b4 (parents, granny or aunts), are they your God? You can as well have waived your traditional wedding instead of being nervous and planning it ahead. He prostrated for your parents and other members of your families, Are They His God? Just tradition but still doesnt matter whether you did it or not but you came to announce it. 5. After he had prostrated for your parents and other members of your families shouldnt you have derived the happiness frm that? 6. Just as it is a small gesture to you so it is to him. Sometimes, we women create issues and headaches for ourselves just becos we think we are civilised and widely read now. That is why I still doubt if I can ever join any women equality or women rights group cos someday, they will protest caring pregnancy alone and need men to carry it too. They will protest why husbands have to ask for sex and demand law on how many times a man should demand it in a week. Some of them are divorcees, some are single mothers while some married ones have homes already hotter than hell and they are looking for pple who will be like them. They will make issue out of no issue. Instead of channeling their energy towards protesting the rate of women dieing during child birth - we loose more than 100 daily in Nigeria (and other women related ailments) and ensure success is achieved, they will just be looking for pieces out of peace .LADYJIDE, is your husband aware of all of these? Pls show him this post so that he can be proud of you ![]() |

You're so on fire you just dey scatter bullet wey dey hit friends and foes alike.
![]() Dont mind them, some people will always display their foolishness as if they are wise after any small degree they get but remember they dont come back to tell us the repercussion of their past attitude or they will come back and post on NL, My Mother in-law is bad what should I do or My husband is a cheat what should I do? ![]() |
Beync:Does the husband prostrate like this to his in-laws after the wedding or has he ever prostrated to his parents like this before or is this a show display of what he too cannot do after marriage? Abah!! this is just tradition and means nothing, you do it, you go with your spouse, THATS ALL. Will this Igbo girl also kneel to her husband after thisday or has she ever knelt to her parents b4? A 5-sec kneel shouldnt bring nervousness and 2 years planning like the poster said she has been preparing not to as if it is a big deal whether or not she kneels. She is even so annoyed that she brought it here.

mcshew, Human rights sef we no get, you are talking of animal rights. mcshew |
@poster and her likes Back in the days when women used to respect their husbands whether kneel or not, there was nothing like divorce but nowadays that we claim to be civilized, even a pastor wants to divorce his wife not to talk of ordinary church members who wished they never married and want to quit the relationship after 2 WEEKS of marriage, Abah! ![]() NOTE! Your so called civilization is incomplete until 1. You start calling your dad and mum by their first names 2. You (compulsorily) instruct your children to call you and your husband by their your first names 3. Call your father and mother in-laws by their first names 4. Call even elders to your spouses by their first names 5. Call other members of your spouses family and extended families (even those older than your parent in-laws) by their first names 6. PERMIT your children to talk to you and say dad or mum "ARE YOU silly OR ARE YOU GOING CRAZY THIS DAYS?", then you simply answer the child "NO SON, I AM NOT silly" 7. Your children replies you whenever you abuse them like (you are not serious and your child replies something must be wrong with you mum) 8. Your children reports you to the police for not buying them bikes (which policeman in naija will wait to slap to slap the child?) 9. You slap your husband and he rubs his cheeks and say thanks then walk away 10. Divorce your husband and get a 50/50 share of his properties in Africa or Naija The points are endless. Until you do all of these, you have no say at all (and you are a hypocrite) cos you cant do some parts of your culture and do some parts of the whites'. You will rather belong to one. Or have you seen a white man who want to behave like you and still maintain his culture? No! White men are no hypocrites ![]() |
slyfoxxjoe:What a fool!! What has kneeling got to do with gods or idols and surprisingly you believe in hell fire while you forget that even Jesus never disobeyed the law of any land during his ministry. Oh! I have measured your mentality, speak english, get a white collar job and be sacked then come back home with nothing to fall back on and start crying, Eating kolanut has nothing to do with education, people still eat it till tomorrow cos its natural herbs. Havent you been told how people used to trade their stocks, leave a couple of stones or sticks to signify the cost of the product and the seller goes else where but whne he comes back, his products would have been sold and money completely there without a police until the white men came to take our uncherished cultural heritages and left us with what we cant manage. All the same, civilization is not bad but it shouldnt derive you of your culture cos the white men who brought civilization actually defends their culture!! There is no land without a culture or tradition, it is the culture of the white men to shake and that is what they do. |
slyfoxxjoe:NO! go and do a thorough research, mutter is right. Infact, I have books on it. |
@poster WHY DIDNT YOU STOP YOUR SO CALLED HUSBAND FRM PROSTRATING? Didnt he show respect to your parents or did he just hijack you on the street and took you home? This is how some of you destroy your homes b4 building it, something that wouldnt take more than 2seconds will end up denying you your peace/life, this kind of thing should not be an issue like you tend to present it. I pity your husband cos he doesnt know who he is living with yet. |
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday urged Nigerians to report lapses capable of causing loss of lives and property to relevant government agencies and directly to his Facebook page. In a posting on his Facebook page, Jonathan said he was committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property of all Nigerians. He also assured Nigerians that he would ensure a thorough investigation of Sunday’s road accident that claimed about 40 lives in Lagos. Jonathan also stressed the need for government and the people to be proactive in avoiding man-made disasters nationwide. Lamenting the spate of building collapse across the country, he said he had directed the Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Dagash, to collaborate with the 36 state governments to conduct integrity tests on ongoing building projects nationwide. “The need to be proactive in preventing such man-made disasters has become urgent. Yesterday, I informed you that I had called for a thorough investigation into the horrific road accident in Lagos. I have also instructed the Minister of Works to work with various state governments to ensure that integrity tests are carried out on ongoing building projects to stem the tide of building collapse and its attendant loss of lives. “In Abuja, which is under the control of the Federal Government, such tests have now commenced and will be institutionalised. I also call on the general public to be watchful for any lapses that may lead to loss of lives and to report such to the relevant agencies and also directly to me on this page. As President, my job includes using available resources to protect every limb and every life of our citizens.” He said the nation had been lucky not to be inundated by the natural disasters reported daily in various countries. “Our Creator the Almighty God has been good to us in Nigeria. With reports of natural disasters in other countries on our televisions, radios and newspapers almost on a daily basis, we must thank our maker for the many mercies. “If He takes care of us we must also do what is needful to avoid the many disasters caused by human error, negligence and acts of commission or omission. We have to take steps to put an end to those incidences within our control by enforcing existing regulations better and making sure that there is consequence for wilful engagement in conduct that leads to such disasters,” he added. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201008193242785 |
This is the most uselsess and pointless post I have read this year. Why do some of you become so civilised (so to say) that you now talk rubbish? When you were asked to prostrate to the bride's family why did you do it? you should have refused! Its only in this country that people dont appreciate who they are and what they stand for, go to Japan, China and some other highly developed countries, they dont allow anything, I say anything to tamper with what they stand for despite the gact that they manufacture cars, other sophisticated needs and are highly ranked in technology but Nigerians will always challenge their culture simply because of a first degree that most of them cant defend. You are supposed to be feeding AFRICA but you still import matches and you can boast, I wonder why some trash still make home page. |
