Five ways you would lose your confidence as a man

Being a man is not a easy task as a lot of responsibilities are placed on one either by birth, by family, culture, self etc

As a man, you are respected by the level of responsibilities you can carry and how you can manage them effectively

It is duo to these many tasking responsibilities that probably make men rarely live longer than women.

The case that is majorly common is the man dying before a woman.

The male sex is termed with strenght, ego, confidence, and other traits.

But as a man you have your own fears, you have times when your confidence left you to yourself.

Well, the truth is, you qualify as a man by being able to hide your fear and show strength instead.

The day you show your fear easily, you lose your respect and you are seen as a feminine in a Man’s body.

It is not that females are fearful, the truth however is that as a man your level of fear is supposed to be lower than that of a woman.

Below are ways a man could lose his confidence

1. When you woo a lady for as first timer: There is a stage in life everyman is expected to woo the opposite sex with the motive of being in a relationship.

For everymale, it is very certain you will lose your ‘Super Cool’ confidence if it is the first time.

At that moment, most males flip through a lot of books and materials only to forget everything when they see the opposite sex.

Most would find it hard to look into the eyes of the opposite sex.

However, after the first trial they tend to become a Pro in the game.

2. The day you lose your source of income: As I said earlier, the strength of a man is measured by the responsibilities he can carry and how he can manage them effectively.

If as a man you don’t have a means of lively income, you tend to lose your confidence as there are certain matters you daren’t speak on.

3. The day you fight a fellow man and you lose in public: Fighting is bad but should you get involved in it with a fellow man, You had better be the ‘undisputed champion’

Else you lose your confidence in public and end up being a laughing stock.

4. The day you are unable to provide for your immediate family : being able to provide for your family members do boost your level of confidence.

How?

Because by providing for them you prove you are capable.

Now, look at it from being unable to provide then you will understand.

5. When you perform below your woman expectations sexually: This is the one that can kill a man confidence, ego, morale and everything about him very fast.

If your woman doesn’t feel you sexually and she makes you know, then your level of confidence while speaking with her tends to be low.

CultureNaming Ceremony In The Yoruba Culture by Olusharp(op): 5:51pm On Mar 20, 2018
The advent of Civilization and Religion has changed a lot in the Yoruba naming ceremony

Yoruba is a predominant tribe in West African country Nigeria.

Apart from Nigeria, Yoruba as a tribe can also be found in Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, among others.

This may have occurred owing to the slave trade in Africa during the pre-colonial era.

Yoruba as a tribe has a very rich culture part of which is the naming ceremony.

Up to this present age, the Yoruba tribe remains if not the only tribe that spend so much during a naming ceremony.

The reason being that, the Yoruba cherish the name given to a new born baby.

It is a belief that the name of a child determines his or her fate.

Prior to the arrival of civilization and western religions, the Yoruba had their own way of conducting their naming ceremonies.

If the new born baby is a female, she will be given a name on the 7th day after her birth.

And if the new born baby is a male, he would be given a name on the 9th day after his birth.

The naming ceremony of the first born child is usually held at the Husband’s father’s house.

During the ceremony, the following must be provided, honey, kola, bitter kola, alligator pepper, water, Palm oil, sugar, salt, and liquor (dry gin)

Each of the above have their uses and significance, like sugar and honey symbolizes that the life of the new born baby will be sweet.

Water symbolizes that the life of the new born baby will be calm.

Alligator pepper symbolizes, the new born baby will multiply in terms of birth.

The ceremony is usually officiated by the eldest in the family.

After the eldest must have given the baby a name, other family members can now in turn give the baby names.

The ceremony is ended with drum, dancing and food to eat.

However, with the coming of civilization and religion (especially Christianity and Islam), many of these old culture have died off.

Now, a naming ceremony take place on the 8th day be it a male or female.

Only water is now allowed during the ceremony, others like Kola, dry gin etc are no longer allowed.

All the same, it is always a colourful event in Yoruba land even with the coming of civilization and religion.

You may have to go to a Yoruba Naming ceremony to understand this better.

Social Media: The home of fake Life

Social Media has led to depression in a lot of people

Do you remember that friend that was not all that good looking in your school days?

But then you came across his/her picture on Social Media and you got the shock of a lifetime.

You saw him/her dressed in some fashionable cloth standing besides a Lamborghini Porche in front of a gold plated house.

You are shocked and marvelled by this.

Then the feeling of how far he or she has gone above you sets it.

This is the stage at which depression sets in for many people.

Social Media is one of the tools that is indirectly promoting depression.

How?

Because when you keep on seeing pictures of your mates looking good while you are some where trying to eke out a living.

And if you don’t have control over your thought, depression will surely set in.

What many people have failed to realized is that most pictures you see are usually posted to taunt others.

Not everyone living large on Social Media is living large in reality.

It can simply be termed, living a ‘fake life. ‘

Life that is full of pretense and falsehood.

But unfortunately many people fail to realize this and as such struggle by all means to step up their lives.

The meager income they are trying to use to survive and maintain their well being becomes a tool to brighten up their lives too.

The first mission would be to buy a phone with a good camera quality.

Then they start moving from houses to houses with great structures, snapping pictures upon pictures.

All of these pictures will be poured on the Social Media for the consumption and intimidation of others.

Is this the kind of life you want to live?

Looking fly and good on Social Media but in reality you are going hungry with debt on your neck like chain.

What I am saying is live according to your means, do not get carried away by the waves from the Social Media.

Don’t live a fake life, stay real and move in your time zone.

Most morning joggers have their motives

I am amazed at the rate at which the jogging exercise has become a part and parcel of the new Nigerian system.

Jogging is a form of exercise that has to do with trotting or running at a slow pace.

Nigerians have now seen the attributes that comes with keeping fit.

Indeed, health is wealth, however, it might interest you to know that not everyone doing the morning jogging exercise are doing it to keep fit.

Some other people have ulterior motives.

Below are the list of people you meet doing a jogging exercise in the morning

1. The ones that actually want to keep fit: These are the people that are interested in keeping there body in good shape.

These people understand what they are doing.

You see them in their trainers, a tower round their neck and with a water bottle.

Some have even advance to a level of getting an ear pieces to keep them company during their jogging exercise.

2. The ‘Let Me’ join them crew: These people don’t really understand the reason for jogging but because one of their neighbors is into it they are moved to join.

They are the ones that always plead to be called upon when it’s time for jogging.

3. The ones that need to reduce their weight: After receiving backlashes from friends and foes alike, these set of people turn to jogging as the only saving grace out of their predicaments.

They usually have zeal for the exercise because they have a goal.

4. The older ones that want to remain young for life: while returning from a vigil one morning, I saw a man who should likely be in his early 60s jogging in his white vest. I was shocked.

The funny thing was he would jog a little and then hold his waist.

These people don’t want to want to acknowledge the fact that age is no longer on their side.

5. The ones that plans to hook up with the opposite sex: These ones took jogging as an hobby because they noticed the opposite sex they find attractive is doing it.

They employ this tactics as a means of hooking up.

Worthy of mention are the ones that see as a means of robbing from unsuspecting people moving out early.

Add yours.

EducationThe Hidden Truth About Success by Olusharp(op): 4:52am On Mar 14, 2018
Is there any relation or connected link between Luck and Success?

Some would opine that “Luck is when skill and opportunity come together.” which equally leads to success.

And of course, there are others on the opposite side of the spectrum who believe its all down to your intelligence, skills, and hard work.

But if we attributed success to the many talents, skills and smarts that a variety of individuals have today in the world, then why are they so many rich people with meager talents? And why aren’t the Einsteins or Isaac Newtons of today the most successful or the wealthiest?

Good Things Happen to People with Fewer Talents

A recent study by a team of Italian researchers, physicists Alessandro Pluchino and Andrea Raspisarda and economist Alessio Biondo, used a computer simulation of success defined by financial wealth to prove that the most successful people in the world are not the ones with vast talents. Rather they are the luckiest ones.

The researchers created an imaginary world, filled with 1,000 individuals with varying levels of talent in different positions who were exposed to both lucky and unlucky events.

They were also given the same units of capital (10).

After stimulation of 40 years, which was meant to represent a person’s career, it showed a vivid representation of what is seen in real life.

The distribution of wealth went to a particular small group of individuals.

Was it the ones with a wealth of talents?

Actually, no. Physicist Pluchino says we assume that we reward the most successful people because they are more talented or intelligent than other people but, it’s not the case.

Instead, very often most successful people are moderately talented but are very lucky.

Encountering series of lucky events was deeply responsible for their success.

And sometimes see this in say friends, who are less smarter but actually creating wealth.

Share the Rewards

In another instance, the team found new ways that could alter how we reward people already successful.

Instead of rewarding or handing out bonuses to high flyers, one strategy could be giving everyone small amounts.

This, in turn, led to a higher percentage of the most talented people in the computer model to achieve success than rewarding the most successful people.

“By exposing people, especially at a young age, to more fortunate events, you provide more opportunities for hidden talent to emerge in society,” says Andrea Raspisarda.

However, these researchers believe there are things we can do to boost our chances of being lucky.

Where you are born, what family you are born into, who you meet, are largely out of our control and a thing of sheer luck.

Therefore the need to increase your chances of being lucky in life every time is equally important.

Pluchino says: “Expose yourself to as many casual interactions and opportunities as possible,

“It’s also true that if you will still need luck.

“But you probably won’t find lucky opportunities if you stay locked in your room.”

CelebritiesNigerian Singers Signed Under More Than One Music Label by Olusharp(op): 8:58am On Mar 11, 2018
Nigerian Singers signed under more than one music label

Some are actually label owners signed to another label

The Nigeria entertainment industry is one of the biggest and stronghold in Africa.

Nigerians are lover of music pushing the country from the local scene to the foreign scene.

Musicians like Fela Kuti, Orlando Owo, King Sunny Ade amongst others have impacted in the Nigeria brands of music.

It would be bad to deny that the Modern day singers have not better the Nigerian Music Industry.

Artistes like Wizkid, Davido, Asa etc are great asset that have taken the country’s music beyond Africa.

A host of Nigerian artistes are registered under different music labels.

Funny enough, there are artistes who are labels owners but also under another label.

There are some artistes registered under more than two labels.

Below is a list of Nigerian artiste under more than one label

1. Davido: Popular singer, David Adeleke also known as OBO is registered under two music labels.

He is also the owner of the two labels.

Davido is the owner of HKN ( Honourable Kings of New-School) which he created alongside his cousins.

He is also the owner of DMW (David Music WorldWide.)

OBO is registered under the two labels.

2. Wizkid: Ayo Ibrahim Balogun is ( if not) the biggest Nigerian new school artiste.

Ayo Balogun left EME music label owned by Banky W to form his own label Star Boy Inc.

Wizkid is however also registered under Disturbing London.

3. 9ice: This is one of Nigeria’s finest indigenous singers. His name is actually Alexander Ajifolajifaola.

9ice is the owner of Alapomeji Records and he recently signed under Temple Music.

His album “G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time)” was released under the label.

4. Reekado Banks: Ayoleyi Solomon is loved by Nigerian ladies.

Reekado Banks is signed to the Supreme Marvins Dynasty SMD music label owned by ace producer, Don Jazzy.

However, the young man is the owner of TOT Empire music label which is managed by his brother and himself.

Recently he signed Marv, a new artiste to his label.

Worthy of mention is Tiwatope Savage signed to Supreme Marvins Dynasty and Roc Nation.

Car TalkThe Types Of Vehicle Drivers You See On Lagos Road by Olusharp(op):
There is this saying that if you can live and cope in Lagos then there is no where in the world you can’t live.

The same thing applies to driving, if you can drive in Lagos then there is no where on earth you can not drive.

If you are a foreigner and you are reading this, you might be thinking I am over hyping Lagos but that is the reality.

Lagos, located in African country, Nigeria is unique for it smartness.

If you can live and drive in Lagos you are indeed a master of all and a slave of none because you have been rebuilt.

Enough of painting Lagos State, the story must be tiring? Let me move to main topic.

Having resided in Lagos State for some years, I believe I am in a good position to write about this.

I literally sleep on the road, 11pm and as early as 5am.

Here we go, the types of drivers you see on a Lagos road.

1. The ‘My Car’ owners: These cars are usually very beautiful and quite expensive. you will see car brand like KIA, Toyota ,Mercedes Benz etc.

One thing about the owners of these cars is they are always very careful while driving and always try not to be hit or be the one to hit another car.

2. The Danfo/Molue Drivers: The ‘Yellow’ coloured vehicle is very popular in Lagos State, they are generally of Volvo brand.

It is a mass transit bus meant for we prospective car owners and even those with cars because they know how to manoeuvre their way in a traffic jam.

These ones don’t actually care, if you drive rough they will prove to you they are ‘rougher.’

They hardly obey traffic rules and are usually the brain behind major traffic jam in Lagos.

Anywhere is there are bus stop.

Another thing is they so much hate the ‘ My Car owners’ and they don’t hide the hatred.

3. Tipper /Trailer drivers: They are also known as the King of the Road, why?

Because they actually use their size to intimidate other road users.

Another thing is they usually do this on purpose.

They are usually the brain behind road accident due to brake failure.

4. BRT Bus drivers: These ones are the lucky type of drivers because they have their own special lane and do not drag the road with others.

And if by chance they hit another vehicle especially Danfo, the driver should just take to his heels.

others worthy of mention are the Tricycle drivers also known as Keke Napep, Taxi drivers, etc.

You can add yours in the comment section.

FoodDelicacy: How To Make A Nigerian Okra Soup And Eba by Olusharp(op): 4:37pm On Mar 09, 2018
Delicacy: How to make a Nigerian Okra Soup and Eba

If you are a Nigerian at home or outside the country, I can bet on it 90 percent that this is not your first time of hearing about this delicious delicacy, Okra Soup (though we used to call it Okro Soup) and Eba ( made from cassava flour and hot water.)

Well, a brief history about Okra Soup shows it is prepared majorly by people from the eastern and western Nigeria.

The Eastern Nigerians call it Draw Soup (Probably because of how it looks like), on the other hand the Western Nigerians predominantly Yorubas call it Ila or Ila Alasepo (Assorted Okra Soup.)

Okra Soup is very popular in Lagos State which happens to be the economy hub of Nigeria because of it simplicity and it affordable expenses. Although, I will say Okra Soup can prepared to the level of your pocket, if you have the money you can take it to a higher ground, you get what I mean?

But from my own end I will be giving you the delicacy in it simplicity.

What you need to prepare Okra Soup

1. Okra

2. Palm Oil

3. Meat/Fish/Cow Skin/Snail/Stock Fish (it depends on your pocket)

4. Pepper (dry or fresh pepper)

5. Potash, Salt and other condiments.

Process to follow:

1. Take a clean pot and pour in a little amount of water

2. Throw a potash into it

3. Stir the pepper and Okra together with water and pour it into the pot of water (Note you must have cut your Okra into tiny bits)

4. Use your spoon to stir till the Okra mix with the water

5. Wait for some minutes for it to boil

6. Add Palm Oil

7. In my case I used Cow Skin (Ponmo) add it

8. Add Salt and seasoning

9. Leave to boil

Note: Do not cover the pot and if you must, cover the lid partially

After some minutes your Okra Soup is ready to be eaten.

Okra Soup can be taken with Wheat, Semovita, Pounded Yam, Yam Flour (Amala), Pounded Cassava (Akpu) and Eba.

For the sake of the cheapness and ease in preparation, I will make use of Eba.

How To Make Eba

Things Needed

1. Garri (Cassava Flour)

2. Water

3. Turning Stick or Iron Spoon

Process to Follow

1. Get a clean pot and pour in the amount of water needed depending on the quantity of Garri

2. Let the water boil

3. Get a bowl and pour some part of the boiled water into it

4. pour your garri into the hot water in the bowl

5. Cover the bowl for 3 minutes

6. Remove the cover and stir to taste with a turning stick or Iron Spoon

You have made your Eba and you are good to consume your delicacy.

An advice: Eat while hot and get a cold water to step down. Remove all white clothing while eating Okra Soup, we don’t want you to get stained, do we?

Give it a shot!

I also wanted to apply but I spotted it was not a freelance job..
since you didn't add any past experience and they acknowledged you, I believe you can still make things work for yourself..
Go with your laptop but quickly inform them your past experience was with your own personal social media handles... list them and pls edit them to look professional before you go on Friday.. if you are a good sport content writer tell them.. if you have little skills with graphics design, pls tell them.. tell them your understanding of human relationship and how you can use the page to build the firm repute.. once they complain about experience inform them the handler of EFCC handle never had a prior experience and he made the handle know...share your love for social media... and if you hit the job remember to mention me for my account number all the best...
