EducationEducation In Osun: A Scam Or A Sham by Olusharp(op): 6:50pm On Feb 03, 2016
In 2015 when the lecturers under the umbrella of CASUOSTI in Osun owned tertiary institutions went on strike for months, students were delayed, academic duties came to an halt and every student cried out for help, months later it was learnt that the striking lectures had parley with the state government and thus the strike was called off. The schools began their expected activities and during this period the schools sold out forms for admissions into the 2015/2016 session. The schools sold out post Utme forms,HND forms,NCE forms and a large number of prospective aspirants scrambled to get the forms hoping to gain admission. The form was sold for months, the government didn't say anything before the form were sold and neither were there any odd infomation,Even some schools had gone as far as conducting the expected post Utme exercise for their aspirants then the government released the least unexpected statement "No admissions into any of the state tertiary institutions" Students and aspirants thought the statement were mere rumours only for the various schools to halt their admission process stating that it was an order from the state government, day after day what looked like a dream was becoming a reality but the government and the various school management kept quiet and their was no flow information as students were left to speculate and hope. The questions that remain unanswered are "Why didn't the government release the statement before the various schools started selling their forms?" is this in one way not a scam? Now that it seem there will be no admission what will happen to the money aspirants used to buy forms for which they sat for no exam? why is the government evading these questions and keeping quiet? This is 2016 and there are no positive information that the screening exam or admission would hold and each day the government keeps coming out to deny the fact that they are oblivious of what is happening. Is this a scam or a sham or is it a combination of both. It is painful that aspirants would have to waste a whole year and money with nothing to show for it. is it that the Money paid for the forms are all gone under the pretense of no admission? It is time for well meaning and reputable Nigerians which also include The federal government,Ministry of Education,JAMB,Human right activists to please see to what is happening in Osun tertiary institutions.

EducationNo Admission After Buying Application Form. by Olusharp(op): 4:34pm On Jan 01, 2016
No Admission After Buying Application Form.

I and thousands of students are left in disarray as state owned tertiary institutions in Osun has left us in a state of confusion, the schools involved includes Osun state polytechnic iree,Osun state college of Education Esa-Oke,Osun state college of Education ila orangun,Osun state college of Education Ilesha ,thousands of Jambites bought their post Utme forms late last year in 2015 even a school, Osun state college of Technology Esa Oke had gone ahead to conduct Post Utme screening excercise and was about releasing the admission list when it was supposely declared by the State Government that there should no Admission for 2015/2016 sessions and the coming sessions,at first people thought it was just rumour not until all the schools mentioned above suspended all admissions processes saying it was an order from the State government. I am an HND aspirant to one of the schools which after paying eleven thousand naira to buy the application form ,i am being told to my face there is no Admission without conducting any screening excercise.is it that i and thousands of aspirants including Jambites and HND aspirants have been duped? why didn't the State government pass the information of no Admission before forms were being sold. I call on the Ministry of Education,JAMB,NBTE,human right organizations and other stakeholders to please come to our rescue,if we wouldn't be admitted they should atleast return our money back to us. This is 2016 and we have not heard anything.

Nairaland GeneralRe: The Twenty Two Laws Of Nairaland. by Olusharp(op):
13. Please report any post or topic
that violates the rules of Nairaland
using the (Report) button. this means Nairalanders should act as watchdogs on others by reporting any violation of rules...i have never for once reported anyone so i don't know how effective this rule is..mods do people report?

14. Please search the forum before
creating a new thread on Nairaland.
this is self explanatory..but *laughing* do people ever obey this law? you can find like 3 to 4 threads about the same topic on Nairaland ..

15. Don't attempt to post censored
words by misspelling them. this means you should not use prohibited words..but everyday words are censored and everyday Nairalanders find new way of writing them. quite creative ,isn't it?

16. Don't promote MLM schemes,
HYIPS, or other questionable schemes on Nairaland. this means you should not promote those "get rich quick" schemes ... most Nairalanders might not know about this schemes except for those that do visit Investment and business sections..

18. Don't spam the forum by
advertising in the wrong places or
posting the same content many times.. this has been discussed earlier

19. Don't use alternate accounts to
access Nairaland after being banned.
If you do, make sure we don't find
out. this means once ban just stay there till you are released..but trust Nairalanders they will quickly create an alternate account and even boast to the mod that ban them that if he bans them they will create another account again..some boast of having 6 to 9 alternate accounts...

20. Complaints to or against
moderators must be sent privately.
Please don't disobey, disrespect, or
defame them. this is to protect moderators from the bad mouth of Nairalanders if you have an issue with them send it privately but Nairalanders are known for creating a thread just for a moderator when they feel he or she has over stretched his or her power limit..

21. Please spell words correctly when
you post, and try to use perfect
grammar and punctuation. this is simple to understand and it for the good of everyone..

22. Don't ask Nairaland members for
contact details (email, phone, bbpin)
or investments. this means you should not ask Nairalanders to post their contact details but people hardly obey this rule as there are a lot of threads filled with contact details of Nairalanders...

Thanks for reading!

Note: this is only a review and i am not writing that you should disobey Nairaland rules but
just pin pointing some weakness for the moderating crew to see and work on...
Nairaland GeneralThe Twenty Two Laws Of Nairaland. by Olusharp(op):
Below is a look at the Twenty Two Laws of Nairaland, their meanings and how they should look like..

NB:Seun and mods should't go berserk on this please..

1. Please post all threads in the right
section, and don't derail threads by
posting off topic. What this means is that you should post the right topic in the right place and reduce the loads of moderators from transferring a post to the right place.E.g placing a funny post in political section, placing a post about pet in fashion section etc this is wrong but come off it there are some topics you don't even know the right section to place them so no blame if you post it anywhere, sorry moderators!

2. Don't abuse, bully, deliberately
insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to
Nairaland members OR THEIR TRIBES. This means you should not use abusive words or create a scene which can harm another person online or offline, the tribe was added when some people no Matter the topic will bring "tribalistic" issues into it.. but hey 80% of Nairalanders don't obey this, this is what keeps Nairaland going, you enter a thread, you see people bashing each other and you settle down to read, there is a team on Nairaland with the name "I am here to read comments" nothing more.

3. Don't threaten, support or DEFEND
violent acts against any person, tribe,
race, animals, or group (e.g. rape). this means you should do nothing when it comes to violent acts, don't threaten ,support or defend, then what do you do? Nothing!than just read and get out..but this is far from the truth,Nairalander are naturally emotional and once there is a violent topic especially rape you see everyone voicing out their stand for or against..

4. Discussions of the art of love-
making should be restricted to the
hidden sexuality section. this means do not post art of love making in any other section than sexuality section be it fictional or real.. There was a time this art of love making always find it way to literature section but due to the total refusal by the head admin, writers whose story where based on sex had to move to sexuality section..This is by far the most effective rule which is followed..

5. Don't post pornographic or
disgusting pictures or videos on any
section of Nairaland. this means you should keep all your porn videos to yourself we don't want to see it even in the sexuality section...but these days things are changing ,"the picture or i don't believe" crew had made it compulsory for those posting porn videos or pics to first show them a sample before going ahead to download it,i guess the mods are lagging behind here..

6. Don't post adverts or affiliate links
outside the areas where adverts are
explicitly allowed. this means you should not post anything that is associated with advert directly i think you are allowed to do that through only your signature..but come i think the mods are tired of banning and banning as the more they ban the more the advertisers come back with new monikers to continue their business..

7. Don't say, do, or THREATEN to do
anything that's detrimental to the
security, success, or reputation of
Nairaland. this means you should not carry out actions that are against everything about Nairaland... i believe people who believe they are being ban for unjust reasons are the ones that do all these, they become angry and vow to do something against Nairaland,*laughing* nothing never happens

8. Don't post false information on
Nairaland. this means you should verify whatever information you want to post on Nairaland.but this rule is mostly disobeyed by bloggers especially the "wannabies" who in a haste to make front page pass false information but i believe the mods are suppose to verify too before they push it to land of promise..

9. Don't use Nairaland for illegal acts,
e.g scams, plagiarism, hacking, gay
meetings, incitement, promoting
Biafra. this means you should not do illegal acts on Nairaland we don't want to see it.. but reverse is the case as Nairaland is a home to a lot of these..

10. Don't violate the privacy of any
person e.g. by posting personal
details/conversations without
permission. this means if you must pass information about another person, seek permission.. this rule is quite effective .

11. Don't create distracting posts with:
ALL WORDS BOLD / huge font sizes /
ALL CAPS / distracting images etc. this is self explanatory and hardly seen on Nairaland

12. Don't insert signatures into your
posts. Instead, add the desired
signature to your profile. this i simple tounderstand but will spammers ever obey it?
