utumunta: It is also corruption ; when religious leaders refuse to say d truth , prevaricate or pander to interests favourable to them at d expense of d masses. Pastor Bakare, u speak d truth most times, but, i am still waiting for u to condemn d killing of corpers in d north after u & Gen Buhari lost an election in 2011. Has d incident not been brought to ur notice or do u speak selective truth? I don't know how old you are but u sound realy naiive politically. What makes you think Buhari or Bakere had any hand in the bloodshed. For all we know, it well might have been a spontaneous self motivated reaction, or planed by pdp to further dent the image of the general. it is a technique that has been in use for as long as we can remember. Recall in 1933 Germany, Hitler and his party, in other to purge Germany of Jews and consolidate his powers, orchestrated the burning of the Reichstag and blamed it on the Jews... In a swift reaction to the arson, jewish neighborhoods were raided, some captured were sent to concentration camps while others were sumarily executed! When u want to hang a dog, give it a bad name... And if you want to see where Buhari condemned the act, here it is... mobile.saharareporters.com/news-page/buhari-rejects-political-violence-calls-it-dastardly-act Others might exist but this is what I have. There was no free and fair elections in 2011 ushering in the present administration, the result of which are the losses we are all witnessing today as represented by unimaginable corruption and insecurity orchestrated by the Grand Criminal of the Federal Republic, Gudluck Jonathan. It is an open secret that Anenih was the president's prefered candidate. Although Jonathan has always shown by his actions and inactions that he's clueless but on this one I don't think he'd jst sit back and fold his arms while his 2015 ambition gradualy blurs to nothingness especially with the emergeance of Ali as the new BoT chair. If we can recall, Anenih once served in that capacity but never completed his tenure. I can't remember that exactly led to his ousting but I feel thesame situation could still play out this time as well. The presidency might choose to go bring out some portions of Farouk subsidy report in which Ali was somewhat indicted being the PPPRA boss at the time the fraud was ongoing. That could be used to blackmail and mucsle him out paving the way for the emergence of the precidency's prefered candidate as the new Chair. The EFCC would come in handy at this point. This is Nigeria, anything is possible. It has hapened before, it could happen again. God bless Nigeria. |

I hope our thieving politicians manage to sneak out time from their favourite preoccupation of scheming to pull off the next gagantuan scam to keep tabs on global trends... Every now and then, we hear of US officials telling those dumbells how the country, in the not so distant future, would become one of the best destinations in the world for bizness and leisure, making them complacent, without droping the slightest hint that their government has been working acidously to become a net exporter of energy (oil n gas) in less than a decade! They never tell them of the grave dangers that lie ahead should we not put our house in order, diversifying the economy. The report says Quatar and Russia would be relatively unaffected by this cos they have splendid energy infrastructure. What can we boast of in this regard? Should the predictions be correct, there's no gainsayin the mess we would find ourselves in in 2017 and beyond if no critical pre-emtive steps are taken now. It doesn't take an Einstein to decipher that. Our 'leaders' NEED TO WAKE THE FVCK UP!!! |

Foreign Affairs › US To Become Net Energy Exporter In A Decade! by omenka(op): 10:38am On Jan 08, 2013 |
...Since 2005, more than $125bn has been spent on shale extraction, including drilling and purchasing land, by the 50 largest US oil and gas companies, according to a study by Ernst and Young. High prices over the past decade, the flow of petroleum from east to west, and the gush of money the other way has allowed Russia to re-assert its international clout and Gulf states to build up massive sovereign wealth funds. The shale boom has the potential to derail those trends. In 2011, members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting countries (OPEC) earned $1,026bn in net oil export revenue, a 33 percent increase over 2010, the US Energy Information Adminisiration reported in May. If the price of oil drops because of new supplies, or if natural gas starts to eat into demand for traditional crude, oil-rich nations could potentially find themselves significantly less well-off. "There will be significant impacts for security and global politics," Faeth said of the shale boom. Blue-eyed 'sheikhs'. Thanks largely to fracking, the US is set to overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's biggest oil producer by 2017, according to a November report from the International Energy Agency (IEA). Should gas-dependent leaders, including Russia's Vladimir Putin or the Emir of Qatar, be worried? Will the wealth and power of steely-eyed ex-KGB agents or white-robed sheikhs be overshadowed by a rebirth of the American oil man - a new breed of Beverly Hillbilly? "In the medium term, I think Qatar and Russia are okay," Frank Asche, professor of risk management at the University of Stavanger in Norway, told Al Jazeera. "Not [just] because they sell to customers on long-term contracts, but because the infrastructure is there." ....

Lemme sit down, and enjoy myself while I watch another ethnic e-war.
When some of us are saying that Nigeria can never produce a National Leader, they call us names. There will never be a leader that the North, South, East, West, Middle, Christian, Islam, etc will all accept as one. It is wisdom to negotiate Nigeria, else, we can continue to deceive ourselves.
It is either you play to the gallery or simply ignorant. The North is not only crying about marginalization, they are also doing something about it.
If Buhari were to be the President, the Boko Boys would not be on rampage. I believe with all my heart Azazi's submission that the PDP is behind boko haram. To me its all a game plan towards 2015. Jonathan and his nest-mates (nest of killers~pdp #Wole Soyinka) undastand what effects destabilizing the north and decimating their population would have on voting pattern come 2015. He knows, as the failure he is, any popular candidate (Buhari et al) thrown up by the north from the oposition would efectively result in their eviction from Aso Villa. And in order to perpertuate the status quo, they have to rid the north of as many voters as possible by killing eligible voters and scaring those they can't kill off the streets effectively disenfranchising them leaving the south, east, and west to be the 'deciders' of the outcome of the presidential poll! My fear is, majority of Nigerians, being who they are, would throw the anticedents of candidates out the window and vote based on ethno-religious sentiments. |
