So can you tell us why has he refused to proscribe the killer herdsmen as terrorist? The only thing that has been echoing in our ears since he came into office is that these same killers headmen should be given a colony/lands across the country, now they want to use free land from across the country to give to them so that we will now start having another sorrow tears and blood just like what has been playing out in middle belt..If he cannot protect the lives and properties of ordinary citizens from the claws of the cattle headers then what kind of president is he? is that not his number one responsibility?

Igbos have been so villified and hated by yorubas simply cos they criticise buhari's incompetency, called us names of sorts. Ditto for the PDP which they call party of killers, IPOB party, corrupt party, dead party etc

Yes Atiku may be marginally better than buhari, but still belongs to the same group that has ruled many Nigerian adults today when they were children.

If Nigeria had at some point achieved greatness and then we lost it all within the space of a modern regime, then I could understand the clamor to bring back politicians from old that made the country great back in the day, a return to the paradise of the past so to speak, but that is sooooo not the case. At no point in time could Nigeria have boasted to be great, except maybe immediately post independence, due in large part to a repetition of the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over and... again


These same politicians have been in one way or the other responsible for the current situation we find ourselves in. There was no exemplary period in which they held power that ushered in a Nigeria that one could be proud of then and now.

So at the end of the day, it all boils down to logic. If both A and B have failed you in the past and both belong to the same group, why oh why would you then go back to the same A and B hoping for a different outcome, when C, D, E... offer viable, sometimes obvious solutions to Nigeria's problems?

This election has exposed Nigeria's fault lines as Atiku is in a Catch-22 situation.

Imagine him picking a SW VP and going to campaign say in Onitsha or Aba, folks there would be like ''so we are good for just votes and not the office abi?"

Imagine him picking a SE VP and going to campaign in Abeokuta or Ibadan, folks there would be like "why should we move from certainty (as we currently have the VP) to uncertainty?"

Analyzing both scenarios his safest bet would be to pick a SE VP, as that would give further drive to folks from there across the country to the ballot box since it would be the first time in 20 years since the dawn of the Fourth Republic that one of theirs would be on the ticket of any of the major political parties and secondly, since there is hardly any incentive for the SW to leave their current VP and 6-state APC regional stronghold to vote for the PDP. Also, recent historical data of votes from the region always shows a split in the votes not like the block votes of say the NW, SE and SS. Atiku needs his data analytics team to crunch the numbers and hedge their bets to make the right, optimal choice. Good luck to him.
