DivaFiva:
This would reduce the amount of money in circulation, although prices will fall by a relatively small percentage, the productivity of economy is bound to reduce...this will cause supply of goods to fall because people are not producing as much as they could have with easier accessibility to loans. It could reverse the early effect of the reduced money in circulation and hike prices for certain goods especially goods that are imported or made with imported materials. As you are aware, that means everything!

The increased bank reserve will reduce funds available for loans. While this could be an attempt to reduce the supply of money to control inflation, it would mean less business start ups and more unemployment and higher interest rates.

Basically, we are fvcked!

.

Generally, Nigeria is not ready for development. I for one, know how to spur development than anybody in the government. For example; I have more solution for our electricity problem than the power minister. But, that's not the issue for now.

When analysing all these, don't forget to look back to history, cause economic theories isn't enough. Winston Churchill said "the farther backward you look at history, the farther forward you are likely to see''. We once devalued the Naira under IBB's regime in the 80's. It didn't end well. It gave us structural adjustment program- SAP which brought hunger in the land, literally. Thereafter, the world bank lured Nigeria to more loans, until we depended on more loans to survive. Our economy was then owned and directed by western powers to our detriment- something Obasanjo worked hard to pay off and to have them "cancel the debts". Many countries like Argentina, Indonesia, Ghana, Bangladesh, e.t.c have toed that line and it didn't end well for any country.

If the president can work seriously on electricity to boost power supply, work on our refineries, encourage buy Nigerian made, e.t.c you'll see after a while the dollar will start falling naturally to its place. Both IMF and US know this, that's why they're putting enormous pressure on our blind elites to pressure the president into submission. Devaluation of the Naira would benefit western nations more than Nigeria. That's the problem.
This really makes alot of sense

Our Nigerian top army official self..how could they do this..my heart goes out to our fallen heros. They were made to do with the poor waepons that were provided to fight this war and defend our nation...while thier ogas at the top were busy stealing all in the fund meant to get quality ammuniation..posperity wish will jugde them.

Two years ago, a brother of a friend was involved in similar accident along Benin / Ore express.

He got out with no visible physical injuries. He spent the time rescuing those trapped in the vehicle. He actually helped in taking the injured to the hospital in the area.
By the time they taken the last victim to the hospital, he collapsed at the hospital and later died from internal injuries sustained in the accident.

My point here is that this young man spent his last moments on Earth saving lives, even at the expense of his own.
There cannot be a nobler death than that.

It's in sharp contrast to this lucky young man who had no time to lend a hand to the injured and trapped.
what in Gods name are you talking about?..if you know you do not have nothing good to say to the OP, then its better you dont say anything at all..must you comment in this topic? you really are not not making any sense than telling the OP in his state of shock to be a matyre rather. You have never been involve in an accident before ..have you?...pls dont ever wish to be in one...because you will be disoriented for some time.
