I av consulted dr google but nothing helping I think it's normal, some people sweat a lot. Your baby is an ajebutter so she is used to cool weather. Just hold your money and buy some a.c. and a plant to be running electricity 24/7 |

evamum: Thanks for your quick answer. I will sure use it with cauction. I blame myself that she can't fall to sleep on her own. She even tend to wake immediately she placed on the bed, but sleep better if she is carried. God knows I tried so much we don't get to this, I couldn't just stand her cry without carrying, (i guess ttcing for 5years caused this o). I will embrace whatsoever package it comes with so God help me. You're gonna be just fine. It's all part of what you will use to shout at her the day she tells you she doesn't want to study Engineering or Medicine but be a Musician don't feel weird or bad if anyone tells you to put her down, okay? And eventually, when you do get tired of carrying her, don't feel guilty about it. I promise you that she knows you love her, very much. Go give her the pacifier or you can afford it, try a bouncy chair. Maybe borrow a chair from a mama close to you and see if she likes it before splurging on your own. |

Doubledouble: I totally get where you are coming from...we can't be taken seriously till we start taking ourselves seriously...saying things like: that's Naija for u, there's nothing we can do et al, mean we ain't serious about our issues...we have to help ourselves to get the needed assistance...kudos to your initiative on class actions...
I wish I could do cloth diapering...but me can't, lemme just respect myself and maintain on my lane...though have never used wipes on my babes even for a day...always been flannel and water with essential oils...hubby thinks am stressing myself cos at the end of the day I still use disposables after the whole natural wiping...but am cool with my baby steps... Doff my cap to you all doing cloth diapering! One of my siblings laughed and told me that the Pampers Nigeria was made in Turkey, most likely in the same factory as the Pampers going out to Western countries. Which means they are deliberately giving us substandard goods. And most likely it is a Nigerian that allowed it. I believe her because when I tried to bring up the matter online, Pampers International was asking me to send an email to their Customer Service and discuss the matter whilst Pampers Nigeria was silent and instead posting pictures of their brand ambassadors. We are the ones doing ourselves and we are the ones accepting it. You should cloth diaper! You're already using cloth wipes. Do you know how pretty all our pics look not in disposables? and I'm not worried about the rising costs of diapers as Baby E gets older because it's the same diapers we have been using dor months. Plus, There is a new indigenous company coming into the market with Cloth Diapers and they are so good on product testing and using natural fibres and making suee their Quality is good and benefiting Nigeria. I already have their diaper wetbag and I like it. |

evamum: Good day mama,
Pls what is your view on pacifer? Can I give my Lo of 7weeks pacifer? I intend using it to put her to sleep mostly, as she doesn't fall to sleep unlesd she is on breast or being rock while standing. I will be returning to work October 1st, I thought my mum might need it to comfort her when she is feed and cared for but still fussy. Pls mamas what is your experience like? Is it too early to introduce pacifer? You can give her a pacifier. Some people say some babies that are breastfeeding tend to reject the breast in favour of plastic which is why they are not big on pacifiers or bottles until breastfeeding routine firmly established. This happened to my nephew. My own issue is that when some babies get used to falling asleep with pacifiers, they get so used to it that to later remove it from them becomes a war (that happened to my niece). So it's something you should have at the back of your mind. But yeah, you can give her a pacifier. Whatever crutch you give to soothe your baby is going to bite you in the bum later. Mine was using my breasts to soothe her to sleep. We only stopped that this month at 15 months because na war. Even carrying to sleep on your chest to soothe becomes a bad idea later. Can you try letting her go to sleep with maybe a swaddle blanket as comfort? You have to be able to stop everything at 6 to 8 months or it becomes harder. Baby sleep is a challenge... |

Doubledouble: Lol@ DO NOT BUY PAMPERS NIGERIA. Is it really that bad?? Just kidding before you use side eye and finish me. I am not and do not ever intend to buy Pampers 9ja!,in Jesus name, Amen!!!! I think am totally sold on helovesme pampers baby dry pants.
Thanks for your response. Below is Pampers Nigeria diaper. I was changing her and the inner drying materials (made of so many chemical substances) spilled out. It was always falling apart and that inner lining would touch her skin and she would itch till she bled. I checked online and asked mothers and so many people had the same issue. And Pampers Nigeria doesn't seem to care about quality control.

BritneyStacy: Goodevening Mamas.....I didn't know taking care of a newborn is this time consuming ooo . I finally got an electric breast pump and expressed about 80mls from both breasts. I was expecting to get 80mls or more from each breast. Please suggestions or advice from Mothers with pumping experience cos I really need more milk so others can help lemme rest more too....
1. Isn't that 80mls from both breasts too small ? Am I not supposed to get more when pumping ? 2. What can I do to lactate more and get more milk to pump ?
3. How many times can I pump in a day ?
4. Baby looks small in my eyes. What can I do to make him add more flesh ? He will be 5weeks on Tuesday. Hey hon, we've answered this question loads of times, with details of where to buy stuff. Please use the Search function on NL and input "lactation Health breastfeeding" so that you can see answers that will relate to wherever you are in Naija (if you need to buy stuff). HTH. |

Doubledouble: Hello mamas and papas!
Pls I need your kind opinion...I use pampers swaddlers for my lil ones...it seems getting swaddlers in the UK is expensive than it goes for in the States. I am now thinking of switching to another type of pampers. I have read about Pampers Cruisers, Baby dry, et al. Pls, which is the best in the cruisers, baby dry...?? Kids are 1yr plus now.
Thanks in anticipation of your opinions and responses....
Cc: all sabi mamas, helovesme, ozycy, modath, onegai.... If you're in Nigeria, I think your options will be limited, but if you can get from abroad, no problem. Ive heard good things about Pamper Baby Dry (imported). Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY PAMPERS NIGERIA. |

Hmm, her father could have handled it better. Him telling you not to beat his child, I'm good with that. Church issue is common, let it slide, at least you should enjoy your marital classes. The schooling issue, well, people have seen how a woman makes plans, get married and the plans get derailed by her husband horribly with disastrous effect. You don't know if they have personally seen a competent well-trained lady end up selling tomatoes in the market because of an overbearing husband (it has happened).
If I were supporting a lady with schoolfees and she was living with me and telling me she has 2 other suitors so I should man up, I'd give her a tender kiss on her forehead and send her own her way to the other guys. If I'm acting committed to you and you're brandishing other people to my face, I will freaking take your bluff. I'm a betting girl.
I think you should call your woman and ask her what she wants. Her mum has a candidate, she seems not to have discussed her future plans with you (nothing wrong with a relative paying for her schooling but shouldn't you have known about her plans to continue her studies beforehand, since you're marrying her?) And her father is generally treating you as if you're being "managed", not as a good choice. You're being treated like they can sense something "off" about you. Or maybe they have seen things they cannot really discuss right now with their daughter. I dunno...
Dude, tell your woman to make her plans known to you and both of you plan together. |

peace100: No matter the economic situation they must be protected, am not against it. Are you protected? Is your family protected? Is your school as protected? Is your business as protected as these politicians? Do you feel safe walking around in your area at 8pm? Do you have padlocks on your gate and burglary-proof on your Windows? If you go to your nearest Govt Hospital, do you believe you have adequate Healthcare provided, are you afraid of dying due to negligence? Is the road to your house tarred? Are your kids learning in a good environment paid for by the govt? Which is more important, protection for the Governor and his family or general protection for the entire state, so that crime rates drop, people can live their lives peacefully at a profitable rate? Protection for the entire state so that Businesses can grow and people get employment or 4 bulletproof cars for the Governor's use? The people who need protection the most are those who will defend this the most. People who have options to a better life in Nigeria are the ones fighting for true equality for every Nigerian. Pathetic, but that is what Nigerians want. |

ozycy: Thanks all for the likes and comments. As for potty training I noticed that my first 2 boys never ever used their potty cos I didn't introduce it on time, when I finally did,dey refused to even sit on it , ordinary piss dey didn't piss inside the potty for one day . Note that dey are not twins o, this happened for first and second child. I learnt my lesson.
For 3rd baby girl. I started putting her Der early o, I remember putting her Der even b4 she started sitting lol, not to poo dou, in my mind I want her to start getting used to it and know that the potty doesn't bite pple when dey sit on it.( My 1st boys will scream seriously when I want to put them Der as if the potty bites pples Bom My dota did very well with using the potty, she picks up her potty, poo and call up someone to clean her bum. We later converted to kids toilet seater when she potty got bad. Now she's 2yrs plus, she poos in WC, clean her bum, flush the toilet, wash hand without any help, wears her short back if any. I bought her a small stool for climbing the WC and wash hand basin.
For baby Sophie, we started early too. I target her pooing time and put her in the potty. Most times it's usually in the morning immediately after feeding before taking her bath. She may poo towards evening, I will be able to know if to put her in the potty or not depending on what she ate for the day. I also put her to poo after night feed. Apart from pooing, I also put her from time to time to piss. After your cloth diaper tutorial Onegai and AlphaHandmaiden I decided to do disposable diaper for night sleep only and cloth diaper or pant only during the day. So it also helped to be serious with the potty training so we don't end up missing and having poo in our pant or cloth diaper. She's so used to sitting Der maybe cos she started sitting Der early. She can sit up to 30mins Der without making any noise, dats when you will see her folding her legs in that manner.
So I will advice you start putting her Der immediately, for me I believe the earlier the better. I may be wrong but that's just my opinion based on experience. This makes a lot of sense. Thanks for it. We will take potty training seriously as from tomorrow. |
