Wendy80:Thanks jare. Most don't know the limit to things. No one says you shouldn't be seen, but there's what they call self respect. If your ability to post half naked pictures as a married woman and the attention you get from it is what makes you feel like you are "independent and empowered", then I don't know what kind of married woman you are. |
bukatyne:And what's wrong with this.? Social media: Most partners have not learnt to useI am not "most posters", I am only responsible for my own thoughts. I was balanced and pointed the errors of both male and female cos I believe It takes two to tango. |
bright007:You sound like the illiterate here. If you graduated from Uniben and don't know that the University is not the only way to get educated then i can only deduce that you are an educated illiterate. Being educated means ability to read and write and ability to use empirical data to make accurate or logical decisions. You don't get that from a university alone. |
joywendy:mojo? Hmmm.. |
Vickybee:You would do well to point out which part of the post is antiwomen. So feminism is the new singsong in town that you girls just bandy around without an inkling of what it even means. I guess that feminism also taught you to be uncouth and use gutter languages when passìng your message across? |
The social media, Pop culture, lack of tolerance, taking each other for granted. 1. Social media: Most partners have not learnt to use social media properly. You see an average married woman posting revealing pictures online just to crave the attention of the male folks. You would see comments like: "your as.s is big, that bo.obs is sumptuous" and all sort of rubbish that her admirers would be posting. No sane man would see this and still admire you except you are his mistress. Moderation is key and people need to watch it. The male folks are not left out. Some would continue chatting with numerous ladies asking for pics, sex chats, lewd talks and so on. Also, there's emotional cheating which social media has made more easier to perpetuate. You would find couples on the phone till late in the mid night talking with so call friends. Ladies having that "special male friend" who always makes her happy online neglecting her partner and same for the male folks. Another important point is that many ladies have become wise which is good and they don't turn a black eye to infidelity like our mothers used to di. They are liberated and would rather walk away than stay back. 2. POP CULTURE: Ladies now believe in equality as posited by Hollywood movies and so on which is not what marriage is all about. Yeah equality at the work place is ideal and lovely but when it comes to marriage, truth is we are created differently and have different roles. Couples must understand there is no competition. Each person have different roles to play and the man just happens to be the leader. MIGHT sound awkward for the ladies, but that's the truth. As for the males. Most forget that leadership is not about making laws, barking orders and showing stronghead but protecting, caring and being just. If you are a despotic leader, your followers would definitely revolt one day. If you are however a caring and loving leader, no one would question your leadership. 3. Lack of tolerance:I guess we are less tolerant of each other nowadays. People flare up easily and are easily moved to anger by little things. 4.Taking each other for granted: Not doing things that makes your partner appreciate you more. People are more individualistic now and are only concerned about "me , me and me alone" 5.Finance. You all know the situation of the country. Most families are struggling to make ends meet and the lack of money especially in the early stages of marriage puts a lot more strain on the couples and it only takes the will of God and discipline to overcome such problems. Also most new families are not realistic and spend way above their finances. They give birth to kids they cannot take care of and so on thus piling up debts. When partners learn to live within their means there would be less pressure on their daily lives. |
frank94:Seriously don't know why some people like sending themselves into slavery with their hard earned cash. Going to Guyana of all places to go and hustle? Why not invest that money close by and work dirty here and see if something turns out good. No one says you shouldn't travel but please make it a worthwhile effort. |
Xsolutions:Nah...Not possible except the external has the same kind of pin the internal ones have and most LG external drives don't come with that. |
macpetrus:Edited Before you can be awarded a Ph.D in any Nigerian university you must have written nothing less than 10 internationally acclaimed papers and several articles for a widely known journal in your area of specialisation. Not only that, your Ph.D thesis must be unique and must thoroughly discuss and espouse new ideas or critic existing ones on a specific topic before you can be a Dr. Even if the president got his as far back 1990 or even earlier a single link of his work would be available online for public consumption. I am not suprised though. Anyone can see through the charade . |
kemiola89:Never said or implied you were sexist. True, doesn't take time to look good. No excuses about that. But how come you know they are wearing dirty boxers.Never knew people wore that out nowadays. |
Abdgafarplenty:I guess you have the fake license installed. Was the system bought brand new? |
Xsolutions:Nah.. I don't deal in thaf. You thinking of replacing the drive with an external? |
Xsolutions:Sorry. YOU have a bad hard disk. Where are you based? |
Xsolutions:I see you have done alot to try and correct the anomaly. Also an hard disk check won't be out of place if the problem persists. Here's a link. m.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-use-the-windows-8-disk-defragmenter.html |
ikorodureporta:How.? |
Coldplay007:What's the difference ? just 2k. Go for the new one. |
Xsolutions:Hmmm... since you have checked the startup items and stopped them. But wait, you only stopped them during the run and not permanently. First I would advise you download ccleaner. Install it and run in safe mode. Clean the registry files and other junks. Also do remove all those unneeded items from the startup ezcept for antivirus. Others can be removed. You would do well to also carry out a disk defragement. Your hard disk sections may be clogged and it's advisable to always carry out a disk defragement once in 6 months to restore sanity. |
deji2009:Hello deji. Long time. How are you doing. ? Great work you guys doing here. Thumbs up. |
Akell:Sorted it out? Got your mentions. |
Bulkfella:Chai...her juju strong gan. ![]() Your life depends only on you and you alone. Forget the lies you tell yourself. You were alive and doing well when you had never met her and you would be when she's gone. Forget soaking yourself in a pity party. First recognise that she's gone, then distance yourself from her or things that remind you of her. Go out and invest more time into things that are productive and positive. Time is the true healer of most things. Give it time and you would be fine. Also you need real closure to this. If not you would just be gallivanting around. Call her and have an heart to heart talk as regards the challenges. You may want to know the true status of things, are the parents having a change of heart? or is this their talk final. If they are still adamant and there is no way out then officially close down the relationship. Be realistic and biz like and don't try to force her decisions. Good luck. |
kemiola89:Kemiola89....Which area you don dey waka for? Where you only meet unattractive males. I guess you want us spending 4 hours daily in front of the mirror like you ladies do. Multiply that hours by 365days and look at the number of man hour lost trying to appear "fake". Yeah, taking care of yourself doesn't have to go overboard and most guys do that. Trim fingernails, have their haircut regularly and dress modestly. |
naijainfogalery:Maybe other Universities. You get a student's copy as soon as you are graduating from Unilorin. Any alumnus can testify to that. Also, it takes at most two weeks in most Universities now to get. |
Your girl? She was never yours. She's married, let her stay in her lane and you stay in yours. If you attend, you just belittled yourself. Even a friend would not try to tell me about an event at the last minute and expect me to attend let alone this scheming little t.wa.t. |
sholatech:The government has been going on about how YOUWIN was the alpha and omega to solving youth unemployment in Nigeria. That's their main campaign front and Poster child on youth employment. You can't deny that fact. We have always had all those. BOI's SME loans, PTF workers back then, Smedan loans, BOA revolving agric loans and stuff etc. All those are palliatives that whither imediately the administration that set it up leaves office. What has been their impact since? If they had worked in the past we won't be here. You don't want me to even start a discuss on the difficulty in accessing all those loans you listed and even their reach pales into Insignificance when you consider the challenges we are facing. Please don't even mention SURE-P here. I guess wearing green reflective vests along Ife-Ibadan expressway cutting grass with cutlasses is employment to you. Or sitting at 7up bustop by old toll gate along Lagos-Ibadan expressway wearing black on black by graduates who paid various thousands of naira to sit under the Oak tree is gainful employment to you. When I say massive civil works, I mean road construction, bridges, new public schools. Civil works that add to your cv. You earn a decent salary and gain experience. The only viable Sure P programme that has shown appreciable results is that on health workers and improving access to primary health facilities. Invest in infrastructures and develop concrete plans that are long lasting not all these palliatives. If Sugar import is banned or import tax increased for example and Dangote or BUA are helped to increase their local production of such items thereby employing more workers. if Jonathan should leave today, they won't sack those employees because the administration is not in power anymore. Most jobs created by these palliatives don't have job security. There are 3 basic component of a good job. There is job security It is qualitative There is career progression. Just check all you listed there and see if 10% of them have these characteristics. How many months are Sure P graduate interns owed? Go ask, more than 5 months. Make I even dey sleep for house better and do nothing is better. |
A federal Government has no business giving grants to individuals as a form of employment benefit because it can never go round and be enough. Ask yourself how many Youwin winners are out there? Probably 3000 to 10,000 or so. Let's even say on the high side, they are able to employ 9 people each. That's 27,000 to 90,000 new employment opportunities in 4 years by the FG. We need to also look at the quality of the job offers created by YOUWIN businesses. We need to understand that no single person will start a SME biz and start offering their employees 120k as entry salaries except you want to pack up after 6 months. Most would run on a lean budget and I can guarantee that the average employee salary won't be above 20k (Twenty thousand naira). Is that what you call gainful employment? Measure this against the number of graduates that go for NYSC yearly alone. Atleast each state recieves 1500 corp members per batch. That's 4500 corpers in each state per year. 4500× 36=162,000 graduates just in a year. 162,000×5 years of Jonathan= About 1 million graduates. This is just the educated ones. I.e Nigerians that went to an higher institution. What of those who stopped at high school or those who never even attended a school but learnt a trade. 20 to 30 million unemployed youth? Just deduct the number of Youwin jobs from the number of unemployed youths and you would realise YOUWIN does not even solve 0.01 per cent of the problems we have. A sensible government would instead of the wasteful ways of doing things, provide the enabling environment for the economy to thrive and absorb the pressure of youth unemployment. For example, 1. Using youths for massive civil works. 2. Guaranteeing access to loans which we all know is the biggest problem facing most startups. 3. Funding Agricultural programs instead of the normal fertiliser distribution alone. I can't go and just collect fertiliser when I don't have a land to farm on or the crops to plant. Also the Land tenure system we use archaic and needs to be reviewed. 4. Enable security of lives and property. When investors know their investment is guaranteed and secured they would invest more. More reason the Boko Haram issue should never have been allowed to fester and left unattended to for long. The general consensus worldwide is that Nigeria is not safe and no sane person would invest in such environment. 5. Revive hailing industries by giving tax brakes to companies who employ more youths. 6. Companies like NITEL, textile industries, AJAOKUTA steel mills which guarantee the instant employement of millions should be either revived or sold transparently to companies who can manage them. 7. Ban Imports on goods or raise the import duties on such goods that can be made in Nigeria. Nothing stops us from banning tomato paste, toothpicks, diary products imports and so on. These are where the jobs are. YALE, CHIVITA , FUMMAN, BAGCO all benefitted from Obasanjo's ban of biscuits, packaged fruit juice and polythene leather sacks/bags imports. They currently employ people in their thousands and are daily growing. A visit to Papa Ajao to see what Chivita has turned to in just less than 10years would tell you a story. It's not rocket science to create employment and govern a country. All these YOUWIN are palliatives that would fail. It's not about bad prophesies or badluck. It's simple economics. Maybe you guys should ponder on this salient fact. 87% of all startups fail and pack up within their first 1 to 3 year of existence. How many YOUWIN businesses would still be functioning after 5 years? And if they wanted to insist on the YOUWIN model. I guess they fancy the name alot. Just use the funds ammassed to gurantee and pay the interest incurred on such loans for a specified period of time if any Nigerian youth under the programme access loans from a commercial bank or SMEDAN. I can assure you more than 1 million would benefit that way and you would have touched more unemployed youths. YOUWIN has failed in its objectives. No doubt about it. |
tslowe:You and all others should use your brains. Armed robbers are not daft and robbing a bank is very hard work that needs very specific plans and contingencies. No robber wants to die or fail in their robbery mission and they are always looking for loopholes to increase the success rate. compare when you have an extra 1000 policemen to when you have zero backups. If you won't be blinded by hate or tribal sentiments. When is the best possible time to have limited resistance to a crime than when the fire power and personnel of the police is stressed tin. For every dignitary that visited with the President, there is atleast 5 police orderlies for them. Not to talk of those patrolling an 100 metres perimeter of where the event is to be held, to the roads leading there and the state house where he is lodged. Nothing less a thousand police officers would have been drafted for the president's visit. Even DPOs won't be spared of field work for that day. It just tells us that we need to plan better in future and the president should limit his physical presence in areas where his presence would cause a strain on Public services. You guys should put your education to use please. It's annoying reading such baseless counter opinions without facts. |
Sissie:Everyone wants to sound like the village comedian nowadays. It's the internet age and people would always take their backwardness to global levels. Imagine leaving the name and address of the pupil on the uploaded image. Also, the op forgot that as a teacher, the failure of your student to assimilate or answer questions correctly is also a dent on your image and it also questions your capabilities to impact knowledge. |
bangleslover:No mind me. Na that long 5110 with horn I dey use. ![]() I am moved by words than pictures and naija network are too slow for my liking so I tend to switch off images most times to load pages faster. But wait...Who's bangleslover. ? |
There's a clear difference. More like a curse. That's a walking stick. Look at the picture below. That's what an Opa ase or an Oba's staff of office looks like. It's like a totem. If it's not present in a function then the Oba is not present. This is a new precedent honestly. Using the walking stick as a blessing is alien to yoruba culture. If an Oba wants to bless, it's either he uses the irukere which is the feathered handheld staff or stand the totem sbown in the picture and not walking stick we see here. Pointing a walking stick at someone is even regarded as disrespectful in yoruba culture not to talk of using it to bless someone. (A walking stick is a fad in Yoruba Culture. It is not part of the paraphernalia of an oba. I guess its use was copied from colonialists. I can't recall reading any yoruba mythology where the walking stick was ever mentioned.)

This question has been answered by social scientists wbo looked at relationships and human behaviour. They found an astounding result. That the average man rated average women as average but The average Woman rated average men as below average. I.e when a man sees a woman, if she's good, She is good. But women see or rate seemingly good men as below par. They have higher tastes and want better things even if they are not better themselves. You see a lady who's not beautiful, lacks manners and on a good day can be rated just 4 would always want to date a guy who's either a 9 or 10. Tall, dark, successfull and so on. That is if people are rated on the scale of 1 -10. This has led to a scenario and according to the research. 80% of all women are seeking 20% of the male folks(I.e Only 20 % of males can be rated a 9 or 10 which most women desire) And these guys rated 9 or 10 are also seeking to marry ladies who are only 9 or 10. And the remaining 20% of females are saddled with the rest 80% of guys.. A typical example was given. Look back at when you were in University. Guys in the top 20% were the ones who almost had like 80% of all the ladies swarming around them. Ladies always wanted the best in all ramifications not minding that demographics doesn't support that. The only time they are ready to reconsider their long lists of wants and desires in a man is when age is catching up on them and there is a bit of societal pressure on them. What constitutes a 10 or an ideal man may be different for different species of the female folk. For the materialistic(a car, mansion may be their ideal description of a man who is a 10) For the religious lady( ability to speak in tongue, read the whole Quran off hand, take care of her, all smiles, be able to fast for 50 days non stop maybe what constitutes a 10 to her) For the Village girl( The guy having a large swat of farm, be of royal family or own a cheiftaincy title, strong, kill a lion and overall take care of her maybe what constitutes a 10) For the city or so called romantic girl( Have money, sing luklaby for her before going to bed, have money, own a ride, work with a big coy, be romantic etc maybe what constitutes a 10) Which always lead to that same question. Why are all the good men taken? The good men have always been there. Women just rate them below par and always want the top percentile which is just 20% of all the male population. Tone down those unrealistic requirements and you would see that good men abound around you. |
Picture mode off.. So no comment. ![]() Joy. You should fashion a way out for us that love switching off images. ![]() At least maybe a descriptive narrative of the dressing and style. Just passing by. |
shuneri1:Babe....As much I feel we should show empathy to people who are going through whatever challenges. Your story sounds and seems more like someone who is unrealistic and believes she is entitled to some certain luxuries of life always and such things must always fall in place for them as they journey through life without sweat and in cases where the contrary happens she is gonna take the easy way out. I am sorry, you need to go out more and see what life truly is. Some people have been penny pinchers all their life and they do not even have anything to show for it. You are just 22 and just staring life and you are contemplating such drastic thoughts. First remove that talk of threatening us with suicide, then find somewhere to sit down. There are people who are in far worse situations than yours. Unemployed and penniless. Go to jobs/vacancies section and read tales of people in their 30s and 40s still seeking employment and with responsibilities of a wife and children inclusive. You have got a million naira. Why are you still seeking out "men" to help you? Most succesful biz today in Nigeria started on far lesser capital. It all takes perseverance, proper planning and dedication to get to the millions and billions you hear them worth today. Forget about what happened to your earlier 1 million that someone ate up. That's in the past. Except there's a clear possibility of you getting it back. That should be the least of your concerns. Focus more on what you have to do with the funds available to you now. What are your passion? What skills aside your certificate do you have? There's always endles possibilities and lots of niches you can invest on.Just look around you and you would see problems that people are facing and services they are lacking. Learn to fix such things and invest your time and money in it and you are on your way to prosperity. And lastly don't go seeking a visa agent or something now. You sound desperate and may just end up in the wrong hands. Sit down and make calculated moves not sentimental ones. GOOD LUCK. |
