freecocoa:I would prefer to keep that personal though, because i strongly believe people would revere whatever they learn or discover if they are allowed to personally find out the TRUTH themselves. Willing to entertain questions but deductions would solely be on you. As for the religion, the first words uttered to its Prophet was "READ, READ and READ". I guess that fairly tells you that knowledge and personal research is largely enjoined by such. As for judging religion based on its adherents. It would have been the ideal thing to do in a normal setting but we don't live in ideal times. We live in abnormal periods, a period where religious leaders ain't ashamed to tell you to do as i SAY not as I ACT/BEHAVE. You would be making fatal deductions if you are looking up to most adherents as the focal point for evaluating such religion. Best is to take what ever CODES/BOOKs they believe in, read and ask questions on areas you believe seems thorny. |
freecocoa:Mabye the organised worship you used to perform back then but the one I know specifically requests you to seek for whatever truth you desire and it's highly enjoined on your to seek personal education as regards your religion. Which makes it very practical to the best of my understanding, the only problem is people are less willing to take that journey. It's always more easier to take the easy route out. As for your ditching Religion is ONE of the best thing statement. I would like differ on that but I guess you are free to have whatever opinion you want. Anything that suits your needs, but I would just admonish a self retrospection. Don't judge most religions by their adherents , most people don't truly follow what their various religions preach and a bit of personal research won't hurt. |
First i doubt this story. Paternity tests aren't an item that's that cheap and common for you to go for multiple ones just for a single cause. They are thorough and margin of errors is less than 0.02. Some cost as much as 400k and i don't see reason why a doctor wouldn't have advised him to go check his genotype once again after the first paternity test confirmed the daughter as his. Basic is, his AA result is false. He should go for another. HE is definitely an AS. This story is false from all pointers. |
freecocoa:Your last line is not true. Yeah, seeking hope or being overtly superstitious push most people into following things like zombies but it happens in all facets of human life. Have you seen how some people gobble whatever rubbish a celebrity say just because they see them as demigods? This also happens in the intellectual and financial field. People looking up to Professors, High ranking CEOs, Rich men and so on as gods. The problem isn't religion, it is man's innate crave for a "superman" entity that can help them navigate the murky waters of life. Nothing wrong with this but when such Superman thingy turns to HEROWORSHIP then it's a big problem because all logical reasoning is lost at that point and the soul is already owned by this hero to do whatever they like with it. Religion is just more susceptible to such scenarios because of the need for the "sheep and leader" process that most religious denominations requires. One reason i have apathy to organized religion's use of a "preacher" or "head" to dictate to people how to live their lives. They most times (90% of the time) end up putting their own colouration to such messages and messing things up badly. Best bet is for everyone to pick their holy books and make personal inferences from whatever they read there. It's simple but impossible for majority of humans because they can't "think and reflect" for themselves. |
I don't understand why people utter words like "I am angry at God and stuff like that" Shows you have a little understanding of what the World is all about and the concept of what evil is actually. I think the main problem stems from the fact that you believe all human suffering is evil. This is a very egocentric view of good and evil for any humanman to have. Human suffering is not necessarily evil. Evil is entirely a subjective concept. You go on daily and kill animals, step on ants while walking, use insecticides against cockroaches and so on. You don't consider that evil. You also don't consider killing and eating animals to be evil because eating is necessary to our life. Well a lot of disease is just micro-organisms feeding on us. Is that evil now because WE are the ones being eaten? Well that's a hypocritical way at looking at life and evil. In a forest lightning strikes a dead tree, resulting in a small forest fire. In the fire a rabbit is trapped, burned, and lies in terrible agony for several days before death relieves its suffering. Do we consider that God's evil also? There are some things that are bound to happen and Men/Humans should learn that their concept of evil is flawed and they aren't the only ones in the scheme of things that God created. Being angry at God for something evil that happened to you is a bit too naive to the best of my understanding. Sorry for your loss though. Wishing you the fortitude to bear the loss. |

Wonders shall never seize to end in Nigeria. Hear who is talking. The same Bruce that ran NTA without any meaningful development or the same one that pays his employees in Silverbird peanuts while hiring and firing. Or is it not the same Bruce giving out fake awards to these same useless Governors as best Governors of the year just for a paltry contract from them. Or ain't he one of the campaigners for Jonathan ? I guess he was blind to the numerous atrocities committed by his demigod or the useless Uduagan he gives yearly best governor who goes around commissioning swimming pools as his achievement. He should keep his dirty mouth shut please. If the hottest part is kept for Non paying governors., the deepest part of hell should be kept for people like him who see the truth but hide under the rug just because of the earthly crumbs they would get. |
ifyalways:baby formula for a kid that's weeks old? At op... There's nothing wrong in what she did as long as she's healthy and is neat. Have you considered there are what we call weaning nurses who wean children for mothers who are medically unfit to breast their children. So what's the big deal in it. After all she's your sister and you share the same DNA and she wasn't out to harm the kid. |
Bro. If it's Lagos and it's a necessity. I.e gives you comfort, is decent, guarantees security, they get a bit regular power supply, not crowded and is near your work place which invariably reduces your cost of transport then i would say go ahead and do it. This ain't about cutting your coat to size it's about looking at the added advantage of such a house. Would you rather rent a 100k house in Ikorodu and spend a 1k on transport daily to the office with the attendant stress of traffic and insecurity along that axis if you work on the Island or would you rent a 200k one in lets say yaba which is closer and gives easy and comfortable access to your work place. Your body has a depreciation value and people need to factor in the "stress and comfort cost" when making cost decisions. Not just the needless bickering about cutting your coat according to your size. That phrase does not apply to every situation and even if it does. 200k is smaller than his coat size. |
Sunnybobo3:Your analogy is not only wrong but faulty. Does Nigeria produce Oranges in large scale? Would it make sense if we did to first export raw oranges to South Africa and later reimport extracted juice at cut throat prices. Wont it make sense to extract and make such juice here.? There are some things you cant rationalize away. Local refining is one of it. The price of petrol is tied to virtually everything in Nigeria. A significant reduction in pump price would lead to reduction in cost of running business, reduced price of food stuff, reduced cost of transport which in turn give more Nigerians especially the middle class and lower more disposable cash to pursue more project thus spurning retail sales and spendings and this in turn create real economic growth not the ones we hear on paper. Also, we daily lose around 400, 000 barrels of oil. Lets assume we have a serious government that stems the theft of crude oil by 50%. that's almost 200k barrels. If you plough into local refining . That's around 18million litres of petrol or pms. That is if you multiply by 90litres derivable from each barrel of oil. 18million litres is half the estimated daily comsumption. So question i ask you is with all these information. Do you still think we can afford it or not ;or would you rather give untaneable excuses why government is abdicating in its responsibilities. tonychristopher:I would prefer kunu or zobo. Lol. |
Generalkorex:I didn't even see his response before typing mine. Any sensible person who knows how things function would understand refining for local consumption might seem hard but very simple when you look at it holistically. The guy just copied some opinions here and there, added some irrelevant images and believes he is making sense. His bandwagon of friends who can't peruse an article keeps clapping in tow. Solving problems is not hard when you break it down to smaller ones. There are people in the Niger delta who refine their crude oil with just tools you can readily find in a local market, only that the octane rating may not be up to industry standards. If the people using drums and logs of wood can refine oil, what is now hard for a country as big as Nigeria to refine and meet local productions? Is not to just make fractional columns, heat to a specific temperature, distill each components out till you get your desired products out? |
Someone writes junk and adds irrelevant images here and there and shout at the highest of their voices that they have found the solutions to things and the blind Nigerian Youths who can't read would have nothing to respond to than nod their heads like an agama lizard. Who says government refinaries can't work? And who says refining locally isn't cost effective even with the prevailing issues? Excuses to abdicate you from your responsibilities i guess. Just a look at the long term costs on your citizens for having your own refined petrol, kerosene, ability to have large tank farms, guarantees and control of such strategic asserts and factor in the logistic costs we keep spending on importation is enough to shadow any costs involved in maintenance and operation of a refinery. Most times to solve a complex problem all you need is to break it down to smaller ones. First, we have no biz having refineries far from areas where these oil wells are, when we know the cost implications of running and securing long lenghts of pipelines. According to my secondary school understanding industries are situated where the raw materials can be easily accessed. Next is not to build gigantic refineries but small and efficient ones near these areas with the oil wells which would ensure shorter distances for pipelines carrying crude and enhance security. Why have a refinery in Kaduna when you understand it's hard to protect the pipeline along such long distances? Building these smaller ones would ensure that they can be easily managed and maintained. Perfect these steps and repeat over time. In 4 years you would have achieved your AIMS of Self sufficiency in crude refining. Apply these same principle to the power sector and you would solve it in few years. Why generate electricity in Kanji and first transmit over long distances to Osogbo before now sending it back to the national grid again. What kind of abysmal system is that? Why not generate electricity in each sections and transmit same to those sections instead of a national outlook stuff that encourages waste and redundancy. Modern Management has moved away from those gigantic units that aren't efficient to smaller and more manageable units which are targeted at solving a specific and particular problem. The solutions from each of these individual independent segments is what adds up to make a single entity. When you have problems in a segment, all you need is just fix that segment without it having major disruptions to the total workings of the entity. These is not too hard to implement but i guess Nigerian leaders are just way too stupid to look at the bigger picture and follow through with reforms. |
Bennyrazz.. You aren't making any logical points with your responses. Please quit it. @mulanbaba. Sorry about what happened. You just need time away. Time heals almost all hurts. I understand how painful it can be and how shattered your self esteem is but one thing you need to understand is that It's not you. It's him. Although you MAY have contributed a bit to this by being laid back and not seeing the signs early enough to have snapped him back to reality. But that's non of your fault though. It's not like she's better or more beautiful than you or something. He just lacked discipline and sometimes most married people need to get a grip as regards 3rd parties, free mixing with the opposite sexes and so on. Temptations are real and it's more sensible to flee from such rather than creating avenues for such to take hold. I guess your friend must have been very close and was allowed free reign around your home.Temptations are real and i don't understand how people believe humans are robots without urges. Just a hug to a "friendly" caress and things may have spiralled down into something else. If he is truly remorseful and you feel you can live with the thought of such betrayal of trust then you can try and make things work but the best for you now is to stay away and get yourself back. Don't rush any reconciliation. Best wishes. |
Donsteffi:update your driver. Should solve it. |
goofyone:and how would that work? In cases of emergencies, you have less than a 90 seconds time frame to do anything meaningful. How do you intend getting hundred plus people to a base compartment coupled with the turbulence that you would have to contend with. |
luxanne:You wonder why they call politics a dirty game? You see someone who's educated and should be able to rise above their prejudices but you would be awed to see that person look at poo and call it honey. Not suprised, politics has a way of getting people hay wired. |
For all other tech fan boys and sci fic gobblers who have commented with all the "noble" and fanciful ideas. Aircraft accidents are very rare and over 80% are due to human errors. We would achieve more investing into more training of pilots, aeronautic engineers; building stronger engines and installing better weather measuring instruments than all these fanciful ideas which are almost impractical and would cost an arm and leg to implement. Getting more leg room is even enough issue with most airliners let alone creating a "pod like" compartment for excavations. |
goofyone:Except you are very skilled in sky diving you would never make it when the conditions to dive are perfect.. Also there's an altitude that you can safely parachute out from and at the levels that airplanes fly, there's little or no oxygen at such feet and anyone diving out is just on a suicide path. You may even be blown away into the aircraft engine and grilled like tomatos. Also, you even would cause more damage to the aircraft by opening any exit at such altitude and speed. The inside is filled with compressed air (oxygen) and opening any exit would kill almost all passengers, makes the plane more harder to navigate and so on. You are more safer seated and wearing your belt than walking up and down trying to jump. If a loose nut or bag from the overhead does not knock you unconscious or dead you may just be tossed out. Lol. In essence, except you are flying a small plane and at several hundreds of feet, using a parachute is outright death and leaves no room for survival in a passenger or commercial airliner. You need to look at the rescue aspect also. Let's imagine a plane travelling from Lagos to Abuja has a mid air issue around ilorin. You don't expect all the passengers to jump out at the same time. Look at how hard it would be to rescue people who have literally fallen from the skies along hundreds of kilometers ? Even plane crashes that happen in a single batch has debris spanning kilometers let alone one with people jumping out at every kilometre. Doesn't make sense you would agree. |
sholay2011:the dark knight? Batman? |
joywendy:glo treating you better now? Saw your mentions. |
cyprel:23k for a new one. As for location |
This is not only hideous but dangerous. You have to only imagine what would happen if she happens to step on the overflowing "frontal tail" while working. Clothes are made to make us comfortable not injure us. I would give this a negative rating of -5/10. |
papi22:send me a text. |
Akell:Just go to device manager. Then go under USB. Right click each option and uninstall all. Restart the system. Should be fine. |
BelieveTech:bro. I am not against you taking jobs on here. But please you can open a seperate thread to achieve that. Thanks |
Justi4jesu I have some items coming from the US. Just light weight. Not phones or laptops so i hope the flat rate doesnt to apply to it. Can I get your details please? Sent you a pm already. kindly reply. |
udz:I thought i was the only one to see that. Don't want to judge but if you would dig deeper. Her "new found love and imaginations" for Mr A actually revolves round the mad money he has. She already spelt it out when she was willing to be a side chick to him. Just ask her salient questions and you would find out the new Mr B is not so rich or just an average dude trying to earn a living. I just don't know what's wrong with most of our Naija ladies. Money over common sense. 2 years later, she would come here crying that Mr A cheated on her. Are most ladies just leeches and can't just work for their own money or what? I am sorry if it felt like i was judging you. But i just had to spell it out the way i see it. Yeah, it's good to seek and desire a good and comfortable life but that shouldn't be at the detriment of selling yourself into a not so desirable future. |
Yeah, building that international conference centre is wrong but i guess most Nigerian politicians always embark on white elephant projects so people can remember them for such even when such are irrelevant and needless. As for unicem, guy forget it. That company has tried more than enough for cross river except you want them to go under would you tax them more. There's a glut of cement in the market, decreased construction for over six months now due to speculations on elections and above all an increased exchange rate which caused them to be running at a loss since last year. Go ask anyone in the know. Most of the raw materials except limestone and one or two others which is locally sourced are sourced overseas and this high dollar to naira rate is not helping them. Epz is a free trade zone. You can't tax those companies there. And how many companies are even there? Except for Dangote with skeletal production going on or you mean Cheese BALLS? which other big company is there except for some small oil servicing firms that are facing a bleak future due to continued low price of oil.And as for your NNPC depot? How much would you make taxing just 100 tankers/week? Lol. I guess that cannot even service a local government in Nigeria. Most states apart from federal allowances are not self sufficient and viable. Cross River is a classic case of a civil servant state that should run an extremely lean government if it ever wants to achieve any meaningful project or sustain existing ones. What the Governor should be fighting for is dredging of the port by the FG so that bigger ships can berth, divert maybe a section of cargo stopping at Lagos to calabar to free up Lagos.. Opening up cross river as a port destination. Guess they gave it to some private coys who are finding it hard to raise capital to complete such project. You know why i am angry at Jonathan, he is from the Niger Delta and these are things he should have atleast done for his region not giving out money to few militants who have no real bearing on the economy of their localities. He just got there and went to sleep. |
I thought i was the only one that noticed this the last time i was in town.. Roads were going bad with potholes in areas you can never had seen them during Duke's time, cost of living is extremely high, business was very slow and it seemed nothing actually was moving. I used to know Calabar as a bubbling although calm city but what i saw last time i was there was a city that was fast loosing it's beauty due to mismanagement. OR maybe since they have been stripped of their oil producing state status and the oil wells given back to Akwa Ibom now that may have severely affected their finances and made maintaining social infrastructures very hard. Cross river has always been known as a civil servant state with a bit of tourism which is seasonal and taking off oil the major source would definitely affect them. Even the ever active CUDA seems asleep. Garbage piling up on roads and so on. Seriously, it's painful. That's why governments need to look inward. Most states are not Self sufficient. Remove federal allowance and they got nothing else. Except maybe Lagos, Rivers and Maybe Kano others are just states by appendages. And still yet you wonder people are still calling for more states creation. Creating more problems, dividing the already scarce resources into "ministries and duplicating state apparatus" thereby taking money away from capital development. |
Just seeing the movie today and i must say. I am not the easiest person to be swayed by a movie but the storyline resonates with what happens in the everyday Nigeria and it's a true reflection of why we are still backward. Mistrusts due to ethnic differences and sweeping justice under the carpet because a so called elite is involved. Can we all just look back to what Orubebe did recently and compare to the protest by the community after Chidinma's death. Accusing the inspector of bias because of ethnic differences and wanting to take the law into their hands. We have always been sacrificing justice just because we want to maintain the status quo. I guess Jega must have watched the movie and learnt how to respond to the onslaught of Orubebe. Lol. For me.. This movie is a 10/10. Picture quality was very good. Sound was awesome. I understand it was a little bit drab and slow in some aspects but given Kunle's history with slow paced movies. I wouldn't bath an eye. In short they got everything right and i am suprised i would rate a Nigerian movie 10. But this one takes it. Forget the thrash review by the opening post. This movie was do.pe. bellong:Is she? I don't think so. She's actually taking things into her hands which is good. The only thing i don't ascribe to is her sticking to age brackets. A man who's her age mate or even a year older might be the perfect match for her who knows. But all the same, I guess it's her choice. |
