Daddi:Unfortunately the private sector is different from government business and until the government hands over the railways then I wouldn't want to compare both sectors and mind you what has NCC done to improve the telecoms sector apart from selling licences and sleeping on duty?. Maybe you ask yourself what happened to Nitel and why it died. Government was not willing to take risks and give Nigerians a 21st century telecoms company. They were only willing to give Nigerians that second class moribund service and I am sorry Mtel and nitel had competition and they werent able to keep up and died off. Better idea is when you give people the best with your available resources. Throwing us an archaic railway service and branding it transformation is not foresight but stupidity. The cost, efficiency and effectiveness of such railway system would not jump start anything. When the Lagos to ilorin route started, people trooped out to go patronise it, just a year after and its scanty except during festivities when the fare is free courtesy of Aregbe.. Why would I spend 12 hours on a train to ilorin and still pay N980 when an Hummer bus from Lagos would do the same in 4 hours with just N1600? Also these trains don't run daily so you have to be second guessing when they run and what time they leave. Just use the Lagos to Ilorin route as a case study and ask yourself why companies and individuals aren't using the rail service to ferry their goods after more than a year its been launched preferring trucking it by roads. Simple lack of reliability and efficiency. Don't give people crumbs at insane prices. This old means of locomotive engines running max 70km/hr has gone way past its time. It belongs to the 60s. Nigeria already had a starting point in rail service as far back 1901 . It's way over time that we move on to better things instead of returning to that starting point 100 years after. |
Daddi:Exactly. And europe is never my compass to judge Nigeria. Just got a report that Abacha did the same thing by buying coaches for the moribund sector, Obasanjo did almost half of it, Sambo did the Kaduna -Zaria route while as first term governor in Kaduna but ask yourself where has that got us in the last 20 years? Same point. So thus isn't criticism. It's about asking what we deserve. |
joywendy:4/10. That's my score. Knowing what fits you and sticking to it is wisdom. No one needs a soothsayer to know the cloth or dress or whatever you ladies may call it (sorry not good with names) ain't her territory. Not saying people shouldn't take risks in trying something new but she's not that busty and lacks the broad shoulder to carry the gown well. You can see she ain't comfy in it.Like the dress would drop off her any second. Also, someone should tell her they already got janitors for the floors. She should have kept her flowing "brooms" at home. Thanks. Sorry I should get to bed. |
Realdeals:The exact thing we have been telling this people who wont allow us hear word. Spending 48 hours on a trip between lagos and kano just because I want to enter a passenger train renovated with billions of Naira while other nations are building 380km per hour trains and my country people want me to carry out the drums and start dancing on the streets. We got scarce resources and unlimited needs to fix not to splash money on projects without considering the long term cost benefits of it. Let them come up with the amount spent and you would be hearing 100billion naira when it would be discarded in a few years from now. So maybe they should tell us what is transformational about this? |
Daddi:The telecoms sector was a class act because the telecoms sector was in a comatose in the country. We never even had the infrastructure on ground. Not a single gsm mast existed in Nigeria as that time. So it was from scratch that the networks were built. That's what you call transformation. Not someone buying some coaches without any meaningful addition to the system and throwing it in our faces as transformation. The simple fact that we want you people to acknowledge is that the railway infrastructure you guys keep hyping as transformation has always been there since 1900s or whatever time the colonials built it. Nothing new or awesome was done or added. What is so hard in buying coaches and fixing it with air conditon that the Current administration won't let us hear word? You want to criticise constructively? Maybe you list the cost of fixing theses rail routes and lets do a comparative review. I bet no one would spell it out for you to see how r.aped this country has been. |
MyParadise:Rebranding Nigeria by pardoning thieves who stole billions? You know what they call a precedent? If the president wanted to truly fight corruption the way you advocated it he should start by freeing those who stole chickens and were given 10 years jail time. Your talk is even so irritating I feel like gosh... Patient. ..while thousands die from Hospitals that are not built or empty with no drugs because of corruption, or thousands killed in road accidents due to their bad state ? Or is it Security money that's to protect citizens but being used to enrich Service chiefs while the president tells us stealing is not corruption and looks on helplessly? Maybe you tell that story of patience of yours to the kid who would go to bed outside in this chilling cold on a newspaper sheet in an uncompleted building somewhere in the NE of Nigeria because he just lost his parents to the senseless insurgency that the president is supposed to deal with but got no balls to deal with because he is corruption personified. Rome was not built in a day, but they had a vision of where they were going and worked step by step to get there. And mind you they never built it with faulty inner walls and decorated it with sh.it and labelled it gold and announced to the whole world that they their were building paradise. So get that talk out please because it's nauseating that someone who saw the four walls of a school would reason the way you have been philandering up and down on this thread. |
I am reeling with laughter here. What is this. ? Anybody care to translate. ? ![]() |
Following . Nice work you doing and some beautiful pics you got. Can we post pictures we took? And why the focus on the "bad" stories alone? There is always a bright side you know. |
bellong:After 8 months? Is it Jonathan's national conference they are attending ni? Make them find that plabe fast o. The spirit and faith is weak lest people start dumping the gods. |
Chai..Trains that normally ply the back of my high school as far back as 15years ago with PAN motors stacked on the back enroute Kaduna is what is being recycled and people shouting as if this is indeed transformation. What is the ratio of money spent on this existing rail line that just needed buying stones to fill failed portions, replacing some decrepit railings and bridges, clearing the bushes and trees along their path and painting their offices and buying one or two locomotives? How is the quality of delivery of service? How many new maintenace engineers have been employed and how many have been trained? How many more years before this locomotives are replaced with more efficient and faster rail service? What is the blue print and what are their targets? How is the ticketing process? What has gone into it to ensure revenue recieved is protected? For all I know they are still issuing old tickets with outdated ticketing systems and we still clap for them. It's like someone(FG) patching a side of an existing road and buying tokunbo cars with AC for transport and calling that an achievement. The rails have always been there. Nothing new was done. The NRC is still as archaic as it was in 1960 so nothing new. If this is the best achievement by this government, then we can as well time travel to the 1960s. |
bellong:That's what don't know yet. Google has not been helpful. Captured by aliens or dead on the sea bed. We know neither. Can the gods help? |
Why do Nigerians whether rich or poor have a poor taste when it comes to interior designs? Very fugly picture of the inside. Stone coated marbles inside the living room? ![]() Not even the just a small segment but the whole wall. |
bellong:Peoples' lives are at stake fa. |
UchihaMadara:Using mere assumptions from algebra to solve life problems Is actually wrong. You should know that. Life, love, lust and infatuation is like fuzzy logic and you should understand that there are no straight equations in fuzzy maths (e.g 2=1 ) but exceptions and rule of thumb without constants. @joywendy. I no get answer for this you question. Maybe when the sun rises a bit. . |
aisha2:Yeah baby mama. And they carry such shameless status on their heads like its an achievement. Wizkid's babymama visits shoprite, xy's babymama goes out in style....etc. Chai..Our values have gone into the gutter truly. Your mate are there making Nigeria proud , you are there getting used and dumped. Getting pregnant for a celebrity or a guy with small change all in the name of attache. I won't want to bring up a girl child in such an environment. Its sickening. It's the end times indeed. @bellong They should upgrade joor. I hear they have a better firmware and can help us locate the MH370. Google got nothing on them. |
bellong:I have told you to come for an update on that program. The gods of yesteryears are outdated and need a new software upgrade to version 5.0. We now have take home to mama, main chick, main side chick, side chick, side side chick, friends with benefits, just friends, seasonal chick, time based chick, multipurpose chick, location based chick, booty call etc... Their levels depends on the guys discretion.... ![]() |
aisha2:Although, it might just be him playing around with the ex but intimate chats as such with an ex is inappropriate especially when you are currently with someone. It only means there's something amiss. Although humans like to live in denial. Its something inherent all humans but taking it to the extremes and not listening to that dissenting voice is what is not too good. Add 2 and 2 together and you get your answer. He gave you an std, he intimately chats with someone who reports she missed her period and likely pregnant. They have an history. What else is there to unravel? I guess she is waiting to catch him in another woman's bed before she believes. I maybe wrong though. |

bellong:Yeah...The sex removes the doubt that he desires someone else as much as he desires her. You can see the emphasis on "mind blowing". She alone can give "it" to him that way. She's the main chick . |
aisha2:Exactly.... But even if your parents' marriage was filled with abuse and infidelity. Can't they differentiate from what is good and what is bad? That's why they have a brain to think for goodness sake. Someone from an abusive home should even have a better understanding of the situation and be able to tell the difference. The world ain't a rat race, we understand marriage is a big deal and important but you shouldn't be pressured into something bad just to please societal standards. The way I see it, unless we start letting people know they are solely responsible for their actions and inactions and can't totally blame the society for your ills the better. I know deep down these ladies know what they are doing. They are the ones that are greedy, not content and they should never come and blame the society when something bad happens. They choose that path themselves. You always have an option no matter how hard it is. Chaii...but to think a 63 year old hiv +ve man is what she desires? huh ![]() |
And some silly Nigerians would not give way for the fire service to do their work. What are they there for in their multitudes ? I tire for Nigerians truly. |
aisha2:When you listen to some ladies speak. You would want to close your ears and pretend you didn't just hear the silly things they just said. The self esteem and enlightenment is just so low that you wonder if they never had home training or never passed through the four walls of a classroom. Is it poverty or just plain stupidity or the air they breath in nowadays? I am honestly baffled. |
Not a single rifle? What about this. ? Funny enough he even created the Naval training centres in Apapa and Sapele. That's not even a rifle? People have been shot in the past for misinformation. Someone should tell me why the President doesn't deserve to be shot for this bare faced lie?

You see why lots of young men are running away from getting hitched? The pressure to conform to some "archaic standards" is way too much and the family especially that of the bride is always making things extremely difficult with unnecessary requests on young people who just want to get married and move on with their lives peacefully. What happens after that wedding is non of their biz, ... |
tunapa2009:Nothing bad if he they discover. But at least they worked for it. ![]() |
Ghostlady:Not true about this one. He is not that studiuos online and posts more. Even a big fan of Big Brother Africa thread here. Arguing up and down about the contestants. ![]() |
calebo101:Chai...My God..I can't help but laugh at your feeling of self importance. Waiting for me in the IT field?. Create a website? Create a thread and mention you? Now I understand. Are you related to Nkem Owoh, the comedian? |
Yayyy...... I knew that naughty aburo is very intelligent but this is a big suprise... ![]() Shola....Congrats bro. So happy for you! 10 awards .? Chai...Iwo nikan tan? Those asking for a pic. Here it is. And for the id. The highest bidder gets it. ![]() He is a well known Nairalander and a big time contributor. Frequents the Arts and movies section alot and has a lot of plays to his name here. I have given enough clues. You guys go figure. |
