rationalmind: Yes, it's a mechanical fault.

When it was connected externally, it wasn't vibrating as it should. Was only making a tick.

And it didn't fall.
I doubt that can be regenerated. Sorry about the loss. Hdds are very fragile.

yetunsbay: 'western civiliaation '.My belief is that where we met ourselves and way of d world. Most of people knows d best procedure and guideline but a situation may surface where it isn't clear enough to be applied.E.g as an undergraduate is quite difficult searching for a 'wali' to brief on your behalf.......& only He can make dat easy.

To my questn can I move ahead on my aforementioned step******no wali here*******
Maybe you find someone more elderly or senior in your environment to relate your interest to her. Its more about trying to prevent unnecessary free mixing of the genders.
IslamRe: Islam For Muslims: Side Talk Station by onegig(m): 8:31am On Aug 01, 2014
albaqir: Unfortunately, no one cares about this Islamic moral standard anymore. We simply follow animalistic 'western civilization' where you can approach woman anyhow.
Problem i have with most here exactly is this. Stating that "meeting up" or showing your intentions is always western. There's nothing western about that.

If you want to make something look bad or illegal you don't have to tag it western. Its more like calling a dog a bad name just to hang it.

Please be a realist for once and see things for what they are and work out solutions instead of prescribing things you yourself won't use. The world is not that small village you can criss cross again. Where every family knows the other. People are upwardly mobile. This scenario the guy paints simple shows they are in a school environment or something similar.

How would it be possible for him to meet her guardian? Is it someone who may have travelled thousands of miles to school in another city you want to be finding her guardian around?

Also how would it sound even if you get her guardian's details to tell them "ejo sir or ma, mo fe ri yin" and just blurt it out that you wanna get involved with their kid?

How are sure he/she even has same intentions or is even betrothed?

I am not saying people should go borderline crazy and imbibe immoral acts but please religion leaves room for some navigation. Intention and how they go about this process and the guiding against what is forbidden is the most important thing here.

It would be like being hypocrites saying things we know is virtually impossible giving the circumstances without giving suitable and workable alternatives while we know how many of you Ulamas tied the knot.

achovirux: How do I carry out a hard disk test from my bios setup to ascertain the health of the hdd.?really need to check my hard disk that stopped booting since my laptop fell.because the system is pointing on disc repair
If it is an Hp. Hold the esc key when the system is starting up. Next press the f8 or f10 key to access bios settings. Go to diagnostic settings and you would see an hdd self test.
ComputersRe: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by onegig(m): 7:42am On Aug 01, 2014
what the technician did has affected the charging aspect of the system?
What annoys me most is this thinking from most clients. You take a system to an engineer and any new fault or anomaly it develops is the fault of the engineer. Why is that? I guess the initial fault was caused by the engineer also?

That's why i always use a caveat.

As for your questions. Best thing you need do is go change that battery if its a new one. It can't retain charge. Also check to see if other adapters will charge the battery so as to eliminate the doubt as to your adapter being the culprit here. Good luck
RomanceRe: My Hubby Is Emotionally Mean by onegig(m):
This thread just confirmed the romance section is filled with kids having mucus running down their noses.

@op
You need to tell him how his actions hurt you. He is just plain insensitive and childish.

No matter what the fight is, a simple happy birthday is the least thing he could have said to you. We even wish our enemies happy birthday on their facebook pages let alone your spouse.

bellong: Is this a universal law? I always hear this but don't believe this falsehood.
I thought i was the only one that noticed that. People go into marriage with this conditioning and not fix things, make extra effort and be happy believing it is according to the golden rule of marriage that "the first year or first few years is always hard". Says who? Based on what stats?

If you don't enjoy marriage at the early stages when do you want to? When the teeth start falling off ?

You need to be careful. She didn't agree because of a standing proposal she has. She may like and fancy you and having you too close i.e with her friend MAY likely cause rifts and jealousy especially when we know most women do discuss about their spouses with their friends.

And in other ways it might just turn out fine. If the friend ticks all the requirement. No problem go on but chai that kain triangle is a very complicated one . You have to however tell the first lady about your intentions before you go on. I guess courtesy demands that.

What is their site address? And why would you pay 11k for a company that is not know and don't have a physical address in a state that is accessible. Didn't you know that state has been under a state of emergency for over a year.

Albaqir.. The israeli government officials are physco patients. Can you imagine the comment by one of their MPs?

”NATO bombed 5,000 civilians in
Kosovo just because it was
insulted; 27,000 Iraqi civilians
were bombed during the
American invasion because they
posed a danger to the US; there
is not a country in the world that
can talk to us about morality.” -
Israeli MP
http://jpupdates.com/2014/07/29/european-countries-fail-protect-jews-state-israel-will/

So i can also just go on and kill 11 million people tomorrow and no one has a moral ground to criticise me just because Hitler did the same thing. Can you imagine these beasts and murderers?

Then i doubt he is ready for any solution. If he wouldn't listen to an advice, then why did he ask for it in the first place?

Even if he manages to get married under that roof. The mum's daily interferance would be the killer of that relationship. Or how do you expect to focus on building his home when his mother is always in the picture 247 and needing his attention always?

The only other option that might work is he transferring the care to one of his sisters. At least they are also kids of this same woman and have a responsibility of caring for her also not withstanding their marital status. If he's not open to any of this, then he should stop complaining and keep it up. He is a mummy's boy at over 50 and i don't think that would change any soon.

It is that simple.

Dailymail again?

I am beginning to suspect they have a thing for rubbishing the country's name no matter the story.

They are a tabloid so i take their stories with a pinch of salt.

I guess they need the traffic Nigeria can supply and only referencing the country will deliver this.

ritzeluv: My dell inspiron screen just got broken without nobody touching it. What was d cause and how much to fix it.
Thanks for your call and sorry about the broken screen. I doubt it just broke on its own. Maybe when you were carrying it somewhere it hit something or maybe you or someone(thats if you have other people living around) mistakenly stepped on it over night. A screen does not just break except it has been mishandled or pressurized.

Would be expecting your return call. Thanks

Empiree.

I saw your post. That's a very sad story.

I understand the mother trying cling on to the child but seriously that is selfishness.

She has enjoyed and lived her own life, why hold the son down?

Why stop the guy from living his own life?

The guy holds the ace to everything here. I understand he may be concerned about her health issues but he can always arrange for a private nanny or care giver to be with his mum always. All he has to do is to make regular calls and visits. I understand the difference in location and cultural status . But he needs to break the circle. The mother would be hurt initially but she would heal with time. All he needs do is to explain his feelings. He needs to change environment and mentality.

What would have the mother done if she had no kid? Won't she live her life? This ain't about being cruel or lacking feelings but about common sense.

Wait didn't he go to school or college? What happened when he was there?

To the every other person who did participate in one way or the other in helping out no matter how little even if it were just a positive comment on the thread. May God Almighty continue to strengthen you and cater for all your needs. A Big Thumbs up!!!

It is people like this, that still gives me that tiny hope that Nigeria may turn out great someday.

I guess this proves that you don't have to be related by blood to people to be family with them.

kevoh: In response to my post since no answer was provided. I have detached the keyboard's ribbon cable from the connector on the MotherBoard. This has eliminated the annoying continuous typing of - or t.

New question: Where can I get original Toshiba C660 keyboard in Abuja to serve as replacement?
For now I'm making use of onscreen keyboard/speech recognition . Quite an experience!
Sorry about nobody responding to your help request. I can't really say for sure where in Abuja you can get that. But just check local computer stores around Gwarinpa area. They should have.

pxjosh: i've been having problems with my laptop lately. on its own the mouse just developed a fault. its just as if the 'left clicker' is pressed down; such that mere moving the cursor drags anything on its path. i then decided to buy an external mouse; the day i started using the mouse some of the keyboard keys stopped workin, just like that. please i'd like someone to help me out on how to rectify this issue
When you remove the external mouse, does the keyboard return to normal function?

rationalmind: Good day to all the engineers in the house.

The hard disk of a friends system just crashed. He has tried connecting the hard disk externally to other systems but not responding.

It now appears there's no other solution other than getting a new hard disk.

What he'll like to know is if there are ways he can recover his files from the disk.

Thanks
Maybe . It's a 50-50 thing. I hope it is not mechanical fault(i.e hard disk falling down)?

uzoexcel: the official systems i use for my simulations are 16 gigs desktop and some of the simulations take close to 3 minutes before i get a reply
if i wanna run some of this in my laptop, and obviously closing down all applications, it makes the system hang indefinitely while the memory usage on task bar gets close to 3.82gig....hence my interest in increasing
my processor is pentium dual core CPU @2.00gHz per core
It would be good to upgrade but since your 16gb dedicated desktop system has to take 3 minutes to run some, how many minutes do you think the Laptop would take? maybe much more time like 10 minutes.

If you use this system for extensive work that need to be done with speed. I wouldn't advise you increase the ram only. You should also change the hard disk from your normal sata to SSD. Should improve speeds by at least 50%.
