Baring in mind previous help you have got. There are many reasons a system can be slow. It might be due to an aging processor, poor cooling system, blocked vents or even an hard disk with bad sectors. Since you have defraged your hdd. I would advise you don't partition. It won't change a thing. All you need do is carry out an hard disk test from your bios setup to ascertain the health of the hdd.

Ran a Diagnostics on the PRIMARY HARD DISK SELF TEST and it displays "HARD DISK NOT EXIST" and when I ran it on MEMORY TEST "it says MEMORY TEST PASS". After doing f9 and F10 then it automatically boot itself and went back to same old story

The model is HP PAVILION DV6 6c11nr(window 7)

Actually the laptop was bought in US but when it arrives my address, the cover beneath the battery cover was slightly open...which I forced to close then later I realised that all the screw used in closing the back cover were pulled out.....Naija Custom I guess

Can you open and check if the hard disk is physically present. If it is, might be bad due to mechanical damage while in transit.

Seems like you are very impatient. He will never learn a single thing the way you are going about it. You will just ruin him in the other aspects. I understand your plight but truth is look deeper into your self and You would see that 80% per cent of your failures stem from you doing something wrong. How many months of work do you want to do that would save you money for training overseas with your ssce?

To gain admission into a public Nigerian higher institution now needs you to sit down and think smartly. Success is about throwing a good aim at what you want and not just blindly throwing things around and expecting to hit your mark.

Let me analyse things for you; you have chosen OAU twice, both unical and unilag once. Ask yourself, what competitive advantage do you have in these institutions over other applicants apart from just the fact that you applied? If i should guess correctly, None. You may not be from one of their catchement areas, you got no one with appreciable influence in any of those schools,or you even choose highly competitive courses and above all you didn't score extra ordinary marks to tilt things in your favor.

So who should take the blame for you not making the smart choices ?

Life is like a game of chess. You study the system, then you play your games based on informed decision and rest on your oars and hope for luck that you win and carry the day.

Technology using light emiting diodes. it's bi directional not one directional like you alluded. A simple breakdown of the pros and cons would show you that this is virtually impossible as of now.

There are many technologies out there which were touted as the next big thing but in reality they are just not implementable due to big obstacles against them. Read up more on the basics of li fi and see that on paper it looks good but out there its practically useless. People connect to wi fi lots of metres from the point of origin but you should know light waves cannot pass through solid objects.

This simple fact would be one big obstacle i doubt they can overcome. Science has passed that fanciful level of inventing new things. It now deals with costs and benefits over existing technologies. How many light generating pods would you want to install? How would you bridge the short span of the network? These are the questions that would determine whether a technology would see the light of the day or not.

Let me give you an example. Tesla generating and distributing electricity through ultra low frequency radio waves. Very brilliant and Possible but what of implementation? You get the drift?

Were you able to drain it to 0 per cent? I.e continous use until it empties out?

4gb should be more than enough to run matlab. Most times it isn't the ram but your processor speed and clock rate. You would get the 4gb ram in the market. Just a bit scarce and a little expensive but even increasing the ram to eight gb might not have any noticeable effect on the applications you use. At that point the ram's efficiency is inelastic. I.e can't be stretched to achieve more.


Also, it is advised you close applications that run in the background when you want to run your matlab software. You can't expect to be running a video app, playing music, having tons of other application running in the background and expect matlab to run smoothly.

Just one fear. I am scared of myself. Not really scared but kind of unsure if i have a firm handle on it. I.e My tolerance level. Once i get pissed off by someone or something i can virtually turn cold, unresponsive and very uncommitted to things.

And truth is one needs a large dose of tolerance for things to work out well.

The battery of my mini-laptop just out of the blues decided not to work anymore.
See how, I watched a movie on it the other night, watched till the battery drained and I went to sleep. Power was restored much later at night, I am pretty sure I put the system to charge. By morning I went to work, came home in the evening and tried to play music- there was no light then, but the laptop I charged refused to come on. I even thought maybe I didn't charge it the previous night but when I thought hard, I remembered I did put it to charge. Then, I put on my generator and had it on playing music, then power was restored, I went out to take off the generator only to come in and see the laptop was off. Tried putting it on again, but it wouldn't come on. Reconnected it to power and it worked. The thing won't work without being on power. Is that how batteries die? I mean, instantly? Without warning? I am surprised.

Yeah. Lets make it work. Nairaland Tsunami wiped off almost 14 pages from the last time.

Batteries are always like that sometimes, very fragile and a little power surge can spoil the cells. I guess there was a power surge while switching to gen and that was what spoilt the battery.

You can also try this . Drain the battery totally from that 14 per cent to 0 per cent. That's like recalibrating it. Remove it and leave it out for up to two hours. Next connect and charge. If it still doesn't work then you would have to change it just like we agreed.

I have come to learn that some people are just plain myopic and very silly. I have had a colleague use the terrorist tag for me and I simply reported him to higher authorities for discipline. This was someone that in my natural character of extreme niceness I have repeatedly fixed things that would cost him tens of thousands for free. So tell me who should know better than him not to judge a religion by the actions of some imps?

Some people can't just comprehend it and they are innately tribalistic and dull. So do things for God who created you and not because of what people would say or you trying to change their perception. Even if you toil for some people they would still always think that way. It's them that need to change, not us .
