This particular Saturday, other guys had earlier travelled on Friday. Seyi went to RCCG Redemption camp and, she would go to Lagos from there. I was the only one in the flat. Fausat came around at about 1:15pm. She asked after seyi, I told that seyi travelled. She knew that seyi and I are dating. She said she was having some difficulties with some Jamb past questions. Well I took her to my room. That was not the first time she was coming into the room, but that day’s entry was special. I taught her for an hour, I became tired of teaching. I jokingly told her she should take it to her boyfriend to teach her the rest. She laughed, she said she doesn’t have a boyfriend; as a matter of fact, she has not dated any guy or had sex since she was born. I was shocked when she said that. I wondered how such a pretty girl like her, because she’s so damn pretty with a good shape, men trembling at her feet, wanting to just have a piece of her. I asked her how old she was, she said she was 20. This is the first time I was asking her about some intimate and personal details about her life. She told me that many guys have been toasting her but she doesn’t like them. She said the guys are bad and rough, but she loves a gentle man, cool, calm like me. Immediately she said that, my heart did, “gbim gbim gbim.” In excitement, it was as if my bowels were rolling. Looking at Fausat, one may think she’s not sensible and smart, but gush, she’s intelligent and smart and, she knows what she’s doing. Since she started her tutorials in our house, she no longer speak Yoruba language much. She speaks more of English. “Don’t worry, I will marry you” I replied her. She laughed, “noooo, I don’t want aunty seyi to kill me ooo” she said; I smiled. She said that am a great guy and seyi was lucky having me as her boyfriend and, if not that I was with seyi, if I ask her out, she would gladly accept. I was surprised hearing that from her mouth. She indeed loves me. But I am not a woman player, am not into multiple women as such, I believe in one woman for a man. But the devil has a way of manipulating situations to his own favour. Something in me told me that that was my opportunity. If it were to be Deji or the other guys, dem no go dull at all, dey would jump into the offer. I started having some bad thoughts in me, my body temperature rose immediately, it looked like electric energy. That kind of energy will solve Nigerian’s electricity problems for one whole year. I thought about it again. Since me and seyi have never had sex since we started dating. She said she’s keeping herself till marriage and I love it and respect her for that. She really loves me so much and I do too. Looking at Fausat, body no be firewood and I must do it now or never, I thought to myself. She was sitting on my reading chair while I laid on my bed. I no wan dull myself. I noticed that women are fragile and changes their mind easily. If you notice that a woman loves you, press on immediately and go to her at that time, because if you go later, she might change her mind. I stood up, went straight to where she was sitting and began kissing her; behold she responded, she wanted it. Before we knew what was happening, we ended up on bed and the deed was done. It felt like heaven, I enjoyed it, she did too even though it was her first time. I took out the mattress to wash due to the blood stains.
After the act that day, I began falling in love with fausat. The love I had for seyi began to die. Fausat never seized. She always come back for more. Sometimes I do ask her to come when nobody was around when it comes to sex. In the presence of everyone in the house, we pretend as if nothing was going on, but in secret we do the do.
This act kept on going on that the attention I give to seyi reduced, I love seyi with all my heart, but there is something about fausat that is holding me bound, I can’t break loose; maybe it’s the sex, because I enjoy every moment with her. I find her more jovial and playful. I called couple of the guys in my house and told them I was screwing fausat but they shouldn’t tell anyone. Immediately I said that, everyone shouted, “heeeeyyyy.” They were surprised how manage I could do that. Because virtually all of them have toasted her, they made advances on her but she turned them down. They wanted to know how I pulled it that it worked. I told them she was the one that made advances at me and I responded. We all know guy talk nah, everyone laughed as I narrated. One of my housemate, james said that, probably she had already loved me from the unset; I guess so because she had always said I was a nice guy. “How about seyi,” dapo one of my housemates asked. “Seyi dey dia” I said as they laughed; “badooo, badoo of life” they all were hailing and shouting.

“No wonder you can’t reply me in Yoruba” she said in English. She was so fluent. We began chatting and I was asking her questions about her school. She said she just finished her WAEC and JAMB examinations and will be expecting the result to be great and, she’s hoping to use the Waec result to gain admission into FCE Osiele. I asked her why not university. She said “University is for big people”, I laughed. I encouraged her, I told her when it’s time, she should buy the Jamb form and pick Funaab. Only if she would listen to me. We talked for about an hour that I began feeling guilty because she left the fish she was supposed to sell, and was talking with me. I really enjoyed the conversation. I told her to go that when she comes the next day, we will continue our discussion. Only if she go meet me for house. Because I had decided to sleep over at a friend’s place.
Two days later in the evening, i and other guys and my girl seyi were outside chatting and playing when fausat ran inside from the gate, we almost stood up from our seats to run inside, thinking it was danger, and something was chasing her. Not until I saw her smiling and laughing as she ran towards me and hugged me so tightly as if her life depended on it. Other guys were just standing and watching. Even seyi was kind of uncomfortable; who wouldn’t be, when a girl just went straight and hug your boyfriend right in your presence. She released me immediately, smiling, with joy on her face. I felt maybe she had won a lottery. “Aunty seyi good evening”, she greeted seyi. She also greeted other guys. Deji answered her with a mocking tone. The girl sef no send. She said she just went to check her result, and guess what, she had credit in all the courses she wrote. Everybody screamed in happiness. Fausat had managed to warm her way into our hearts in that compound. Even my girl seyi likes her. Everybody except but deji, likes her. Even though she sells fish, she comes around most times to chat with us. I really admired her “curiosity to learn.” She is not shy, she’s very beautiful that sometimes, other funaab students in other compound follow, toast her, but she refuses. Seyi started advising her to take away her mind from going to FCE Osiele. She should take Jamb and come to Funaab(Federal University Of Agriculture Abeokuta).
As time went on, Fausat became freer with almost everyone. She comes around and anytime seyi was free, she gives her some tutorial lessons.
This particular Saturday, something happened.

This particular Wednesday, I had returned from school earlier, seyi was yet to be back. Immediately I came back, I went to bed to sleep. I was deep in sleep when I began hearing people talking and shouting; I heard a guy and a lady’s voice. “me oshee” meaning “I won’t do” the lady’s voice was saying. “Kilode” the guy’s voice echoed. The guy’s voice became louder; I woke up immediately. The voices became more clearer to me, it was deji’s voice and fausat. I opened the door and went outside the room. I met both Fausat and deji quarreling. From what I could deduced about their quarrel, deji grabbed Fausat’s breast and she didn’t like it. He was trying to have sex with her but she refused. Deji almost slapped her but, I grabbed his hand and suspended it on air. He began pushing her away to leave. Fausat said she was not leaving unless he pays her the money he’s owing. She said he and the other guys were owing up to N3,500. Sometimes they would collect fish from her and will not pay her. Omo this one na wahala ooo; N3,500, me no dey too they follow them dey chop finish. She started crying, I tried to pet her so she could go, but she refused. Deji wasn’t ready to do anything about it. His anger was that fausat refused to have sex with him. I begged till she finally carried her fish and left. Though deji was kind of shocked that fausat didn’t yield to his advances, because other indigene girls he had tried this antics on, all of them fell, but fausat didn’t. Maybe the girl was not like other girls.
Two days later, I was the only one back from school in the flat. I heard a knock on the door. I went out of the room to the door of the flat to check who that was. I opened the door and behold it was Fausat. “uncle eka san,” she said, “How are you” I asked, she said she was fine. She said she wanted to know if we want to buy fish. I began to wonder in my mind. After everything that happened the other day. The quarrels, tensions that generated with the N3,500 owed by my housemates; who else apart from me does she feel will buy fish from her. She still get the liver come ask if we want buy fish. I realized she has an innocent and a kind heart. After what the other guys did to her, she still came back. I told her that I don’t want to buy and perhaps other guys who will love to buy are not around. She said she liked me out of other guys, that I was gentle and cool headed, unlike the other guys who are rough and behave like touts. She was speaking in Yoruba while I spoke in English; I couldn’t speak much of Yoruba but understood what she spoke to me. She was just so free with me, she asked if I was Yoruba, I told her I wasn’t. “No wonder you can’t reply me in Yoruba” she said in English. She was so fluent. We began chatting and I was asking her questions about her school.

We got to somorine junction with a cab. We entered a bike(okada). As I was talking with the Okada man, I was sure he noticed I was so excited, he couldn’t ask me why. Both of us (me and seyi) got to my house. This is not her first time of coming to my house, she had been there couple of times. But this time, it was special. We got to my gate, the okada dropped us, I paid him while he left. As she wanted to enter inside, I drew her back, I told her that I want to carry her on my arms, she laughed. As she was laughing, I lifted and stretched my right hand to her back region and, my left hand to her kneels, shifted it and before she could say any word, she was already on my arms with her hands circled around my neck. She was screaming in joy and laughing as we entered through the gate. My fellow funaab housemates were outside; they were all looking at me in surprise. Some began hailing me “chiefo, chiefoo of life”. I laughed as one of them shouted, “Romance in action”. She thought I would drop her at the steps to my flat but, mba! I carried her straight into my room with all joy and happiness. We didn’t have sex. We just talked, made merriment. I cooked a nice Egusi soup for her, with chicken laps; we ate.
Months later, in 200level, the relationship between i and seyi was going stronger and better. We were so fond of each other. She later moved from Camp where she was staying, she moved into my own flat; she took one of the rooms a friend who graduated stayed. When she moved in, it made us closer. We stayed in the same house. Everything was so sweet until Fausat, “Fausat the fish seller” just like we call her in my compound came into the picture. The sweetness between i and seyi turned sour when Fausat came in.
This faithful Thursday, the rain just finished falling, i and two of my housemates were outside with our gate wide open. We were just looking at people passing by across the gate. We were looking when 2 young girls, one carrying pepper and the other fried fish on her head were passing by the gate. One of my house mates, Deji. He said he would love to drink garri with fish. “Garri and fish. Ahhh for this cold weather” I said. We laughed. He went to the gate and called them. They came, 2 of them. Both the one selling the fish and pepper came. Behold, the one selling the fish was so beautiful, fair in completion with hour glass shape; with oval facial shape and cute dimples, average in height. She was wearing a black trouser and white top, the clothes brought out her shape. I barely noticed the second girl with her because she never caught my attention. Though the second girl was chocolate skin, she was wearing a red skirt and red top. As if she was going to secret cult meeting. I assumed Both girls should be in their late teens. I stepped aside as deji and james my other housemate were pricing the fish. Deji began toasting the fair girl. He asked her name. I guess she was shy as she sheepishly said, “Fausat”. Most of their conversations were in Yoruba. Though I couldn’t understand much. But I heard Deji telling her to come back the next day, that they would buy more fish from her. The other girl with chocolate skin was even feeling uncomfortable. I guess she felt rejected that all attention was giving to the other Fair girl, Fausat.
When both girls had left, deji said that he would date the fausat girl, but it’s was just for sex. Deji had always been a girl player. He changes women like a lady changes cloths. Am sure the Fausat will accept him. She’s an indigene and indigenes dey like Funaab students wella. Another major reason deji wanted to date her apart from the sex was for free fish. He will be getting free fish to be drinking his garri and cooking food; that was what he said.
Indeed he was getting the free fish as time went on. For one week, anytime Fausat comes around, deji and the other guys might not have money to pay, but fausat won’t disturb them. Fausat became a familiar face in the compound, we tagged her, “Fausat the fish seller”.

“Was Sam okwaraji really killed by the stray ball in the match between Nigeria and India in 1990? Did the match really end with India beating Nigeria by 99 goals to 1, and sam Okwaraji scoring the only Nigeria’s goal? Is it really true that during the match, the Indians made the ball turn to stone; Nigerian players that kicked it got injured. Some people even said the ball got multiplied; some said it turned to lion, chasing the Nigerian players away from the field, and after that, the lion turned back to ball and the Indians began scoring till it got to 99goals. Sam okwaraji scored Nigeria’s goal before he died there. Is this story true? If it’s actually false then the person who brought up this propaganda should be laid flat on the floor and flogged and given 99knocks for that”.
All that were my thoughts as I stood at the entrance door to my flat, watching as grasses were been soaked by droplets of water. The rain just finished falling heavily. I watched as light rain drizzled. I was doing that to get my mind away from seyi and all the troubles happening in my life. How did all these began? How it happened! This is my story.
I met her during our Gns classes when I was in 100 level in Funaab. We sat close to each other on the same seat. I began chatting with her during the class and, after the class, we continued the chat. She said her name was seyi. I followed her to Colnas (College Of Natural science building). She said she was in MCB(micro biology). Few days later, I asked her out, she refused. I already knew that’s how it would be. Girls like her are very tough and hard to get. Before she accepted for us to date, it took about 4 months, after I have talked, begged and, all through that I never gave up on her, I love her. There is something about her that is so different, unique.
Finally she accepted; by them we were in second semester 100level. She called me that day, infact her call woke me up that morning. She told me she had something to tell me in school, that I should meet her at one of the eateries at SUB by 1pm.
1pm came. After my lecture, I headed for sub, I met her at one of the buka. I sat down, I was anxious to hear what she had to say, I thought maybe she had a problem but that was not it. She broke the news to me. That she has accepted to date me. I was so happy, so joyous. The way I screamed and hugged her, she was embarrassed but I never mind. People were just looking at us. I felt God has answered my prayers. With all excitement, I told her to follow me home; thank God she wasn’t having any other lecture for the day; me too, I wasn’t having any other lectures. She agreed and, straight away we went to somorine.

Nairaland General › His Crazy Experience With Weed(igbo) When He Visited His Friend's Sister by onismate(op): 7:23am On Aug 04, 2014
Smoking weed is very dangerous. Weed has numerous names we used in addressing it here in Nigeria. The oyinbo people will call it, “weed or marijuana.” We call it that too. We also call it, “igbo” or ikpokiri or whichever names the smokers used in addressing it.

I could remember my days in Delta state Polytechnic Oghara. Then I was undergoing my National Diploma (ND) and, in my ND1 precisely. I could remember seeing what igbo or weed can do to people. That was when I came to realize it’s not only smoking it that could make you high, (taking you to cloud 9 as people would say), but chewing it, eating food laced with it can also harm.

I remembered that Ibori was the Governor. He (Governor ibori) came to commission some few projects in Polytechnic Oghara were I was studying then. After commissioning the projects, the ceremony ended, the Governor went back to Asaba the state capital. I went back home. When I got home, I met my 2 roommates cooking beans. Our room was very big. Just like a big parlor we see in some Nollywood movies, so it contained three of us. It can even contain 2 more people, only that there would be no much privacy and it may look like a refugee camp. One of them said he wants to add weed into the beans, the other said he shouldn’t try it. As both of them were still arguing and contemplating on whether to add weed to the beans, I sat on the chair looking at them, I didn’t want to say anything to them because I felt it was a waste of time. They can’t put weed into the beans; where would they find it. If only I knew they were not joking, they were damn serious. I was still forming jew while them (my roomie) are neither Jews nor Jentiles. They may decide to be holy today and the next day, they change. I laughed as they argue, I felt they were under the inspiration of hunger, they really had the strength to argue.

After couple of minutes, the beans was still on fire, I left the house and went to check a female friend of mine. I spent about an hour and came back to the house. As I entered the room, I met my 2 roommates and one other guy laid on the floor behaving funny, doing some abnormal things. The other guy was chidi, my roomie’s friend. Chidi was on the floor wanking. I have only seen this kind of scene in movies, where people are high on cocaine. This was the state I saw them in. One of my roomie was just gushing out saliva out of his mouth. On seeing this, fear gripped me. I didn’t know what was going on with them, neither do I know how to help. I ran outside and called the neighbors to come. Barely 3minutes I screamed for help, the whole room was filled with people. Some suggesting that they had gone mad and we should just take them to one babalawo to cure them. Some suggested we leave them at the babalawo’s place. “Dem don mad oo,” one of the visitors screamed. Mad! How manage, people that were normal that I left some minutes ago before I came back. About 3 people said maybe they were reacting to drugs use. One was asking me if they took drug(cocaine, marijuana). Immediately he asked that, I quickly remembered they argued about putting weed inside the beans they were cooking. After all, weed is drug too. I told them it may be the weed they used in cooking because they were arguing about it before I left. After hearing that, one of the neighbors went out, in about 15minutes time, she returned with a nurse. The nurse injected them and they slept off. They woke up the next day evening. Since that day till I finished my ND and left Delta state polytechnic, I never saw them smoking or using weed to cook. Thank God I went out and never tasted the beans. According to them, it was their first time of adding weed to food and, it was someone who suggested they try it.

I later left the house and rented my own apartment. This happened some years back. Now am in Funaab, I never knew how the experience was until this particular day. My friend, Ife took me to see his sister in Pansheke. We got there and his sister was not around. He knows where she normally drops her house keys. He went there, took it and opened the door. We entered. I saw some male clothes on the hanger. I asked ife about the male clothings because he had earlier told me that his sister was not married. He said the clothes belong to her sister’s boyfriend.

He opened one of the pots in the cupboard. “chaiiiii,” he screamed. I asked what was that, he said I should come and see. I came, it was the ogbono soup her sister cooked. She cooked it with kpomo, beaf, fish. Those kpomo were so big and enticing. Looking at the face of the soup , one would believe it’s a well-cooked soup. Ife boiled water to make eba. He asked me if I will eat. I told him I won’t;( even though the soup already caught my eyes). After making the eba, he warmed the soup and served himself. He asked me again to come join him. I was still doing shakara. He was still enjoying the food with the big meat and fish while I watched him. After much shakara, I washed my hands and joined him in eating. After I couldn’t kill that appetite in me that time.

Barley 5 minutes we had finished eating, it started. It looked like something came over me. It looked as if I was formerly in captive and the thing unlocked me out of captivity. I began sweating, I began to hear a voice in me. The voice told me to start jumping, I began to jump. The voice told me to go outside and pull my clothes. “Hmmmmm,” this is not normal nah, I said to myself. I turned to ife, the guy was behaving abnormal. He was on the floor beating himself. “Guy I don’t know the way am feeling oo,” I said to him. He didn’t even respond. I was struggling within me, I want to control myself and don’t obey the voice, but it was hard for me. Before I knew what was happening, my guy ife had begun summersaulting in the room. It was just like a child’s play but that was no joke. I knew within me that something was wrong and it wasn’t normal. But I couldn’t help it. It just looked like something was pushing me to do abnormal things but I was struggling to control myself. I pulled my trouser wearing only boxers and my shirt. I ran outside. I saw a very beautiful girl, light in complexion and busty; she was passing by the house. The way the house was built, is that when one comes outside, they get to see shops, and there was a tiled road and people passing by. The house was not fenced so you can imagine when displaying under the inspiration of this substance, people and passersby will be looking at you. Seeing the fine girl passing by, that voice told me to go and grab her breast. Immediately I ran after her. I tapped her shoulder from behind. She turned around looking at me in a weird manner. Thank God she didn’t even slap me because I tapped her so hard, am sure she would feel some pains at her left shoulders.

I became speechless as she turned and faced me, I couldn’t talk. She was staring at me like, “what can I do for you”. The voice was telling me to press her breast. I was struggling to hold myself. “Do you have a pen there,” I asked. “Are you okay at all,” she asked. see me see wahala. I no fit answer again. She looked at me again from head to toe, turned around and walked away. I wondered why she looked at me from head to toe, I looked at myself and discovered I was only wearing boxers and shirt, I wasn’t putting on any slippers, I was on bare foot. The voice told me to go after her. I told myself that this can’t be. I turned back and was walking home. I saw some secondary school girls coming towards me, they were coming back from the school. The voice told me to run towards them, collect the bags they were carrying and runaway. I began to run towards them, as they saw me running towards them, they turned around and ran away too. Some women in their shops there came out and started looking at me, as if there is a new mad man in town. As I saw them looking at me, I ran inside the room. As I entered the room, I met ife shouting on top of his voice. He was singing one don meon song like that. He ran outside too, came back within 3minutes with a loaf of N70 bread. He started eating the bread with ogbono soup in the pot. After he finished, he ran out again. Barely 20 minutes he ran outside, I was still inside wondering what must be wrong with me, a young man dragged ife into the house and locked it. He brought out some thin milk and began pouring it into our mouth. He also brought some liquid bottled drugs and gave it to us, and we slept off, only for us to wake up the next day afternoon Very hungry and tired. I discovered the man was the boyfriend of ife’s sister. I guessed the women with shops outside called him to tell him that there were some guys in their house that are behaving abnormally. I also discovered he was the one who added weed into the soup. What I don’t seem to understand is that; does it mean that ife’s sister and boyfriend takes weed? I didn’t even bother to ask ife or his sister’s boyfriend because, immediately I woke up and heard all his explanations, I wore my clothes and left the house, never to return there again; and since then, I don’t even eat in people’s houses unless I was there and saw them cook the food.

Family › Her Husband Abandoned Her After Marriage. He Ruined Her Life by onismate(op): 11:03am On Aug 01, 2014
This are my worst trial times; I couldn't imagine myself going through all these. I woke up at night thinking of what my life has turned into. This man has ruined my life.

I was born over 40 years ago, from a moderate family of 3. My mum and dad did their best to send us to school. During my days in the university, I only dated one guy who I genuinely love and appreciate, I call him gaby. He was so cute, nice and jovial. We started dating when I was in 200 level and he was in 300 that time. When he graduated and I was in final year then, gaby said he wasn’t goin to serve, he said he was going to the U.K to do his masters because his parents were rich. He finally left for the U.K. We only talked only the first month he got there and after that he stopped calling me and the phone number he gave to me with which I use in reaching him stopped going through and there was no mobile phone then unlike now.

After my graduation, I waited for 2 years if gaby will come back and look for me but it never happened. I decided to move on with my life. I got loads of proposers but there was none that could match my taste. Do not get me wrong because some people might be thinking I was waiting for the perfect one, no one is perfect but I was just waiting for the right person. The suitors that came are either temperamental or daddy’s boy or even lazy which I don’t like. Some men believes that when they come from a rich home, they don’t need to work, they depend on their father’s wealth but that is not so.

10 years gone by and Mr Right didn’t show up. I was on pressure from my family members. Everybody wants me to marry. I don’t want to rush into marriage just because I want to marry. If I marry the wrong person, nobody will bear the consequences with me. The only thing they will tell me is “go back to your husband’s house”. I want a man I am comfortable with, a man I can grow old with and spend the rest of my life with. Some people mocked me that I clocked 38 yet no marriage but still I tell them ‘was I born to get married’.

I went to the market this faithful day, I say an old friend of mine. We have not seen for over 5 years now. We greeted and hugged each other very well. We went to a nearby store which she said she co-owned and we started chatting. She even got me some presents because the former day was my 40th birthday. She told me that gaby has finally relocated to Nigeria and he’s asking after me. I was so surprised, she told me that one of our old friends saw him and told her. She told me that they said he was married and later divorced. After we chatted and talked, we exchanged our mobile numbers.

3 days later I got a phone call and it was gaby. He said he got my number from one of my close friends. We talked and he told me to come meet him in one of this new generation fast food joints. I went and behold gaby was still looking young as ever. He hugged me not minding if I was married. When I looked into his eyes, I still felt he still loves me. We spent about 4 hours talking. He told me that he was back in Nigeria for good and his 15 years old marriage was over, he just divorced his Nigerian wife in U.K. Both of them had a 9 year old son together. He said he still loves me and ready to get married to me if I can forgive him and take him back. I was too excited that I never asked him why he didn’t call any more after he left me. For the marriage offer, I accepted immediately because he knew I wasn’t married, some of my friends have told him.

We started preparing for our marriage. I brought him home to see my parents and everybody in my family was so happy. The felt the bondage of unmarried spirit have left me.

Our wedding was a blast, there was too much to eat and drink and the who is who was there. Two months after our marriage, gaby told me he will be visiting the U.K to see his son. At first I refused but I don’t want to be a wicked step mother, I don’t want to separate him from his son. Final he left for the U.K. This is the 3rd year I have been waiting for my husband to return from the U.K he said he was visiting. Till date he didn’t call me and I have not heard from him. I tried contacting his family and they said he had made up with his former wife and they are now living happily. I went to few of his friends they do business together and they told me another story. I wish I had much money; I would have visited the U.K and get to know the facts of what is going on. But please tell me, why is this man ruining my life likes this? First he left me in the university. He later came back, I was 40 when he married me and left me again after marriage.

Family › Beating Your Wife : How Mr Sule Physically Abused His Wife To Death by onismate(op): 6:18am On Jul 26, 2014
Life seems to be strange, not because it is but because human beings tends to do strange things in life through their attitude.
Mr. sule, had married sophie for over 5years. Sophie a 28year old lady married to about 47years old sule, to some people is quite a large age difference and very very odd, but for mr sule, he calls it “LOVE”.
Sometimes I quite imagine the pain this woman sophie goes through in the hands of sule, for a woman who is 8 months pregnant. They both and their 3 kids living in an ancient one story building, the parlor is upstairs and the rooms are downstairs.
Mr. sule had ordered his wife sophie that any time she wants to serve him food she dares not bring everything at once together. For instance if she wants to serve him pounded yam and egusi soup, she will take pounded yam in the plate upstairs alone, comeback to take the soup, next is the water to wash his hands then comes back to take the drinking water before coming to take the towel to clean his hands and mouth. And after eating she will come back to clean up the table and pack the plates, she will still follow the same procedure of carrying the plates downstairs one after the other. The day she doesn’t do it that way or misses it she will receive massive beating, Or maybe he called her and she wasted few more minutes before answering him, because he had warned her that let her not allow him call her twice, unless maybe she’s not at home ,but if she is at home once he calls her, even though she is doing any major work, she must leave the work to come answer him because, if she doesn’t, she will be beaten. It has happened many times, and after beaten her, mr sule doesn’t even regret it. Imagine this stress for a woman in her 8th month of pregnancy, climbing stairs with all the pains. All these made sophie scared and terrified the own house. Anytime she hears her husband’s thunderous voice, her heart will start beating fast, the whole of herself will be full of fear, her thoughts will be like “ hope I have not done anything wrong, hope he will not beat me again”. As the day breaks, the situation becomes worse. Each day she prays that God should bring an end to the union. She hopes that God will answer her prayers. She wants rest of mind, she wants peace of the mind. No NGO to report to, nowhere to run to even if he leaves that house. She is an orphan, sule married from the an orphanage home. The orphanage home were trying to give away all the children, teenagers and adults in their custody. Even if she runs out of the house, where will she run to, which NGO will fight for her?
This faithful evening sophie had just prepared jullof rice with a good fish, she was rushing to serve sule the food. She believes he will be very hungry by then. As she rushed to meet his demands, She missed it! As she served him the food she came along with a drinking water along with the plate of jullof rice. Sule was like “what ! you still repeated it again today” sule shouted. By that time sophie had known that sule will beat her. She had been warned by her husband sule, when serving her food, she shouldn’t bring everything, both the food and drinking water together. She must bring the food first, then go back and bring drinking water. Standing and gazing into sule’ furious eyes, anger was written all over him. Seeing this, fear engulfed sophie. She knows that sule will surely come to beat her. She immediately dropped the food and started running downstairs, sule ran after her. Unfortunately, as she was running downstairs she fell at the last lap with head on the floor as she tumbled, even as she fell to the floor sule never gave up, he caught up with her, he lifted up his hand to hit her, luckily a visitor was just approaching towards the stairs to the parlor, he grabbed his hand, suspending it on air, “do you want to kill her?” he shouted. He grabbed him and pushed him away. Sule was still fuming in anger, the visitor doesn’t want him to beat sophie. The visitor reached out to sophie, he tries to lift her up, but she was not moving, she was still on the floor motionless. He moved her one more time if he could wake her up but still no response, immediately he shouted for help, sule was there standing, he hissed and left the place. The visitor rushed outside and called other neighbors to come help out. They took her to the hospital but unfortunately she was gone, she was dead. The matter didn’t end there. Sule was arrested and locked up and awaiting trial. This was when I was in primary school. Now am grown, I have finished my Degree, sule is still in prison awaiting trial.
This story touched my heart because she never deserved all beating. She died a painful death in pregnancy. She was chased to her grave by a so called sweet heart {husband}.

Please Lets come together to fight violence and physical abuse of women in Homes.

Nairaland General › What You Need To Know About The Deadly Ebola Disease by onismate(op): 3:22pm On Jul 25, 2014
Things you need to know about Ebola Virus ...

1. It is a Central African disease that has travelled over countries in a living host to West Africa. It is easily spread by physical contact and eating contaminated bush meat. Major hosts are in 5 species of Bats but monkeys and apes are easily infected and killed.
2. It kills in a week, leaving no time to treat an individual.
3. It has no known vaccine or cure
4. Known cases have been experienced recently in Guniea, Liberia and Central Africa Rep, spreading eastwards and westwards towards Nigeria. Death toll so far in West Africa is over 100.
5. The Ebola outbreak of 2014 is the most challenging one witnessed in Africa.
What we can do?
1. Avoid eating any bush meat for now! Especially Apes and Bats.
2. Wash your hands as regularly as possible, especially after shaking a stranger. It is spread by contact.
3.The most straightforward prevention method during Ebola outbreaks is not touching patients, their excretions, and body fluids, or possibly contaminated materials and utensils. Patients should be isolated, and medical staff should be trained and apply strict barrier nursing techniques (disposable face mask, gloves, goggles, and a gown at all times).
Traditional burial rituals, especially those requiring embalming of bodies, should be discouraged or modified.Awareness is key, don't just read or ignore...spread this campaign before the virus spreads!

Education › How MY Neighbor's Daughter Duped My Mum Of A Huge Sum Of Money by onismate(op): 2:00pm On Jul 24, 2014
Sad memories are difficult to pass by. When I think about how all these events started and how it gradually faded away, I am filled with anger, hatred. N500,000 is not easy to come by in this our modern day Nigeria, you have to work for it. It pained me so badly, the money I didn’t work for, my mom worked so hard for it and someone just came into the picture, jumped on the money and fizzle away.
This is my story
I had been looking for admission into a Nigerian university for about 4 years, yet it has not clicked. I have my O’level results complete with all the subjects. I pass my UTME very well every year but, the problem is the Post UTME. I tried couple of other Universities in Nigeria, yet no hope. I tried some universities in Ghana and some other universities in Europe and North America, yet it didn’t work out, admission was not giving to me. I began to ask myself, is my own that worse! Am I cursed that every university I apply for admission turns me down!
The next year, a female friend of mine who Is actually our neighbor’s daughter, she suggested that I try applying for admissions in her university. She was in her final year and she said she will help me work it out since that was the same way she used in gaining admissions. When she gained admissions into her university, as at that time, her O’level result was incomplete. Her physics was still withheld but admission was giving to her and the course giving to her was the one she wanted, which is Computer Engineering. She said they(she and her mom) worked it with money and admission was giving to her. I and my mom decided to dive into this girl’s idea with a hope that that year will mark the end of my hopeless staying at home.
I wrote my UTME and passed it very well. The Post UTME came, I did it but when the result came out. 40 was the cut-off mark for the university and that was exactly what I scored.
This my neighbor’s daughter told my mom to bring N100,000 so she could give it to some necessary hands to help facilitate my admission, so my name could be on the first batch. She said on a normal day, they would first consider those that scored above 60 for first batch. People like us may be in the supplementary list or our name may not even come out at all. My mom gave her the N100,000. List for First batch came out and my name was not there. Hmmmm, this is wahala, “I hope is not what am thinking, I hope those agents of progress that are hindering me from getting admission. I hope they have not followed me to this university to stop me, not after paying oo,” I thought to myself. I had wanted my name to be on the first list; the supplementary list, I don’t fancy it, I consider it as “connection for those who know how to go about it”.
My neighbor’s daughter told me that they are working on it but I have to provide money apart from the former I gave. The amount she mentioned, immediately I heard it, it looked as if something struck my medulla oblongata. N400,000, “what” my mom screamed, “4 gini” my mom asked again to confirm if she really heard it well. My mom said since I have been at home for up to 4 years, if this target we are striking would give me admission, well let’s do it. My mom said she will provide the money. My mom provided the money, gave it to her. After that day we gave her the money, we didn’t hear from her again. Infact she and her mom packed out from that house barely 2 days we gave her the money. Second batch came out, third batch and supplementary V.C list, my name was not in those lists. I cried and cried, not again, the one of that year has passed. Another year has passed me by. We started looking for this our former neighbor, the new place they packed into, we don’t know it. Her mom told my mom that they are packing out to another location, they told us the new area but they didn’t tell us the particular street in that area. I could remember when she told my mom they were packing out, my mom was planning to travel out of the country, so she (my mom) told her (former neighbor) that when she comes back from her trip, she will come to visit their new place. Since after that day, both the mother and the daughter’s phone numbers stopped going through. When we call it, it will always be unavailable.
I heard the shock of my life when a friend of mine told me that she saw my former neighbor’s daughter and that she was driving a Honda accord. She has seen her twice with that car. “We have been duped by this small girl” this was my thought immediately I heard this. This my friend told me that there is this restaurant close to their house that she(former neighbor’s daughter) normally come to chill out with her boyfriends or aristos. I have always known this, this girl has always been into runs, humping from one car to another, now she has scammed my mom, used the money to buy a car, “I will catch her” I told myself.
When my mom came back from her 2 days trip to Abuja, I told her what my friend said. She said I should take it easy, lets handle it in a mature way and we can’t afford to disgrace ourselves. We are good Christians, my mom is one of the top members in MFM, so if we use police, how would she explain to church administration that she was trying to bride for me to get admission, in the process she got scammed, how would she explain that! My mom doesn’t support us using police. We later confronted her, the girl that duped us, She said it wasn’t her fault, that she tried her best and, maybe it was my bad luck, my junior brother felt like just strangling her to death at that moment. My mom reported the matter to her mom, her mom was even supporting her daughter, she said she couldn’t do anything about it. One of my mom’s Christian sister she reported to told my mom to forget about the issue since she’s trying to cover it up from the church so they won’t be aware of what was going on. She told my mom to let the matter rest, she should consider it as a victory for her, let them take the money, eat it; that she might try to drag the issue for the N500,000 to be returned, the church will get to hear it and it may lead to her suspension, so let her pray for forgiveness and forgive them. It really pained me. Each time I see this former neighbor’s daughter drive around in that Honda accord, I feel bitter because it was part of my mom’s money she used in getting it. My mom struggles hard, works smart for her to be able to take good care of us, only for one bad naughty chick to come and dupe her of her hard earned money.
Anyway thank God, I just gained admission into One big nursing school in Nigeria, I have always dreamt of being a nurse. Thank God For That. Nobody will dupe us again of our hard earned money, not even on admission.

Is yvonne Nelson obsessed with iyanya ? Maybe she is; even when iyanya has made it known that she has lost her medicine. Politics › Paying Huge Amount Of Money As Applicants Before Getting A Job by onismate(op): 3:36am On Jan 05, 2014
Will Nigeria ever be free from corruption? Will Government Agencies ever be free from corruption when recruiting workers? I looked at myself, a young vibrant Nigerian, will be graduating from the university this year. I asked myself “what the hope of getting employed”, with what am hearing about getting employed, the processes it takes in Nigeria today. In Nigeria today, in many Government agencies, before getting a job, one has to pay to get the job. And it is even a probability in getting the job. People paying to get jobs, it is not even sure of them getting the job but, they paid for it. I have heard so many stories of top Government parastators like NSCDC, SSS, Nigerian Immigration and others collecting money from applicants during recruiting . So many people have complained, cried that they have been duped, huge amount of money have been extorted from them by some workers in that organization or the Oga at the top. I have asked myself several times, Government organization like customs, must applicants pay up to N500,000 to N1million or more before they could get the job if they will even get it. They will tell you that you have to scratch the back of the Oga at the top before the applicants can be given the job. Who is the Oga at the top? why is he/she demanding huge sums of money from people before giving them jobs, is the person really the oga at the top? All these were all my worries, it rekindled when I heard this story of a very good friend of mine.

Firstly, last year when a female friend of mine, she visited me. She has been looking for a job since she finished NYSC in 2010. She said that she wanted to apply in Nigeria Immigrations service when they were massively recruiting last year. She later opted out due to the demands of one top oga in the immigrations who promised to help her get the job. The oga asked her to pay N500,000. “Where will I get that kind of money” she said. She said the man even told her that it was because he knows her that is why he’s asking for only N500,000, he asks for N1million from other people and many paid.

Another friend of mine who visited me during the last Christmas, he said they asked N100,000 from him which he gave in Nigerian immigration in Port Harcot. He even borrowed N30,000 just to add up to complete the N100,000. After everything, he still didn’t get the Job. He was so pained when he was narrating what happened to me; but he said he was happy that he has been able to pay back the money he borrowed from people. And am sure those people collecting this kind of money, they would collect from hundreds of desperate applicants who need the job badly. I don’t really blame those applicants, bribing people or ogas at the top to get a job in their organization has become a norm in Nigeria. There are few jobs, limited vacancies and unlimited applicants and job seekers, so job seekers are ready to do anything to occupy that few space.

The Government needs to look into this issue, because I can spend years studying and after graduating from the university, someone will tell me to pay some amount of money just for me to render and an important service to him or his organization. Me and the Oga, who will pay, he/she is the one who will pay me for my services, not me paying for he/she to employ me; and this is getting out of hand, many Government organizations are extorting money from us young people, promising us jobs in their organizations, but yet only few applicants get the job. This is a message to the Government, to stop their agencies from extorting money from us before they give us job in their organizations.
