Olu Abuja:Olu, just thank your stars that you met a good woman of ur dreams and stop casting aspersions on other tribal women. As far as I'm concerned, there are good and terrible women out there in ALL tribes Just look for the one that suits you and thank God when you meet her. I'm from Delta, but I married a Calabar woman, and I'm very glad, happy and fulfilled that I did. |
I'm sick and tired of people accepting falsehood as truth. Isn't it time you folks wake up to the realities of the moment? OBJ is out on a corruption cleansing campaign against those who are not in his good book. Those who will not be his goons and bootlickers. You people should please get that stucked up somewhere and stop disturbing the peace |
I spent most of my childhood days shuttling Ijebu-Ode (the Authentic Capital of Ijebuland) and Lagos. I'm not Yoruba or Ijebu for that matter, but I must say here that the Ijebus are among the best tribes in the whole of Yorubaland. The Ijebus are hardworking, prudent and witty. They love and embrace education, that's why the second oldest secondary school in Ogun State, Ijebu-Ode grammar school was erected in their land. The late Chief T.A Odutola, the well known and respect business mogul was an Ijebu man. Otunba Subomi Balogun of FCMB is an Ijebu man. And even Chief Adenuga of GloMobile is an Ijebu man. There is a galaxy of other eminent Ijebu people whom I've been privilege to come across and relate with in the course of my sojourn in their land. Marrying any of the enlightened ladies amongst them will definitely be a blessing to any self respecting guy. |
I'm still going through some intelligence reports. I'll reply when I'm done. But, for sure, there's trouble in the Delta. And that means the lazy drones who depend on oil money for survival had better start looking elsewhere. |
Sorry Chrisd, you just about stepped on my nerves. Hey! cheer up, brother, I don't drink blood. But Jesus is speaking metaphorically here - (Nuru's words). That's why I want him to explain the passage from the Bible. Looks like he's offline. But when he's done with that one, I will also like him to explain another passage in the Bible, This one: Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:51-58 Jesus was conversing with the Jewish teachers. What does he mean by the last statement highlighted? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. |
I don't want you thinking here. I want definite answers. If you don't know, just back out. And Nuru is the one this question is directed at. |
nuru:Thank you very much for your explanation. But, I have a passage from the Bible that I will like you to explain: Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John6:53-58 Please explain what Jesus is saying in this passage. |
But, as Adams Oshiomhole, that other noted freedom fighter, pointed out on February 6 at the CVL annual lecture, some of us are so afraid to die that we have allowed conditions that have inadvertently empowered some to run our lives in ways that are systematically killing us. - Pat Utomi, commenting on Bekolari Ransome Kuti's Death. Just read this a while ago. |
I'm waiting for Nuru to reply 4get_me, on what he wrote above. |
I'm a member of the body of the Church of Christ, and Jesus is our Head. Not one earthly church. FULL STOP. |
Now GL, that should put paid to all the other entries. |
Eddy, your question had since been answered, before now. So quit. FYI, I'm not a ROMAN CATHOLIC, but u're pushing this too far. |
some profile pics get the heart racing like, |
GL and 4get me, you both got my ribs cracking!! Nice replies so far. |
Can't see anything in his profile, |
I just finished having a row with one wesleyanA on something similar to this one. She's just 15, going to 16. I HAD to practically bring all the HELL down to convince her that at her age, all she should be concerned about is growing up to be a responsible person. That landed me in a heap of mess, and other craps about American culture. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-5831.32.html Now, here we go again with a 13 year old. What's going on in the world of ours?!! O'l boy in Australia, you'd better face your studies before I tell your mum and Dad. |
But, Monie, what about Bolu's dad? It seems you don't like him, ehn? |
@Chrisd, are you a Jew? |
Let me post the actual passage you're quoting: - And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? - And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matthew 19:16,17 Yes, this means it's only God that is good. Any problem with that? |
Hmnnnn. This one is really tough. One thing I know is that our country needs prayers. I believe in the Man of God, Pastor EA Adeboye. When he said we would have had 49 plane crashes in 49 days, and has so far not come back to say he made a mistake in saying so, then, this calls for serious inward searching by all Nigerians. This is a time for sober reflections. Where have we gone wrong in this country? What can we do to get back on track with our Maker? 49 plane crashes in 49 days! this mean the Lord our God is angry with us!!! Why can't we see this from the spiritual angle? Ha! myself, I will have to change my attitude towards many things o. At this stage, Nigeria must have become another Sodom and Gomorrah - marked out for destruction!! God have mercy on us. And we did not know of it. Remember what happened to those two old testament cities? Nobody believed Lot until fire from the skies razed down the two cities for such sins as homosexuality, incest, etc etc. Archaeologists have just discovered the sites of these two cities. I'll advise everyone to repent of their evil ways and seek the Lord while He's near. |
