When will Nigerian Songs Stop being Just about Money and Sex?

This is a question I've been asking Nigerians .
When Kiss Daniel released "One Ticket" featuring Davido ,even without listening to it I knew that it'll be just about love,sex and money - truly my thoughts were right and confirmed after I listened to the song yesterday.


Is it that songs that don't promote sex,gold digging ,drugs and love don't/can't sell or make waves in Nigeria ? Because this is getting beyond control.
When the current government riggged the OSUN gubernatorial election which Davido's uncle was a participant I thought henceforth he'll be dishing out only motivational,sensible and soul melting songs . Songs that can criticize bad governance and abuse of power but no - It must be love,sex and money.

In America , any little issue is taken to heart by their singers and celebrities but in Africa , Nigeria precisely how many celebrities even condemned police/SARS brutality in their songs? None.

Most major Nigerian hits of the year ranging from Assurance ,Soco,Fake Love,Nwababy,Aza,Fever,Unleash and One Ticket are focus on three things - Love,Money and sex ,as usual

Baby baby baby ,my body - is this all Nigerian artists know how to offer ?

Nigerian artists are hoping to win Grammys and Emmys , the thing is who's going to give them Grammys with these wack songs ?

I still feel Ronaldo deserves it. It's obvious this issue of sentimentalism also runs within the football circle. Since it is obvious Messi cannot have it this time, it appears as though they have decided to overlook Ronaldo - who has a stronger claim to it. Make no mistake, Modric is good, but he is lucky to have stepped up to the plate and come out as the 'fall guy' in a period that world football has chosen to be enmeshed in this rather overhyped Ronaldo-Messi rivalry.

I am quite sure that one of either - Ronaldo or Messi - could still get one more Ballon d'or before the curtain is pulled on a glittering career.

Good day my fellow NLs, for a family of 3 wanting to visit Germany this Christmas, how do we go about it? Note: its just for the sake of visiting, nothing more. We've got good job here and businesses here, so no cause for over staying, just wanna visit. We have a family there to visit though, but wont be receiving an invitation from them, we are going to reserve an hotel accommodation.

Gurus in the forum, please help us in the areas of :

(i) A-Z guide on the documentation
(ii) Places worth visiting (just for Christmas)
(iii) Visa fee amount and other useful information's that could enhance securing the Schengen Visa

So guys. . I had promised I'll give keep you guys updated on events....It's taken a while though..but I'll go on to breifly explain how it all went.
I retrieved all documents to show what I had come to do in nigeria in the said period, I also got my itinerary from the airline I had traveled with which was printed from their data base.
I contacted a lawyer as suggested by some of you all who happened to be a close friend too. .. and wrote the embassy. Requesting for review of the decision on the basis of overwhelming evidence against the allegation...they pretty much threw it back at our face with the most important quote "This office no longer accepts direct requests for reviews of applications." Follow the link..blah blah blah.....for request
On the side though...I had gone to the immigrations office...where I tabled my situation...I was lucky to have someone take it up.....my travel history was printed out from their data base and a letter written to that effect with all the supporting documents which they acknowledged. Few days later.....passport was returned with visa issued as requested.


So I say thanks to all that advised and all that doubted as well.....thank for your support

Migration has never be easy but its best for students as you said.
This particular visa is good for those who meet the eligibility criteria but is limited due to language barrier and type of jobs. I learnt that those without German language skills have a very poor success rate of 5% since most jobs (95%) are non-English jobs.

Eligibility requirement is stated below
Hold a Bachelor of Master’s Degree from a German university or an equivalent foreign degree

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in your related field of study

Show proof that you have sufficient funds to cover your stay during the time you are in Germany

Have travel or medical insurance for your entire stay in Germany or until you get your Work Permit

If you checked all of the criteria, then you’re one step closer to getting your visa.

The German job seeker visa is open to all nationalities including those who schooled outside Germany. You may need to look it up again. In fact, it was amended of recent to give equal opportunity to citizens and foreigners towards getting jobs. It should be far easier than both Canada and Australian migration entries.

If people don't apply for it on nairaland or from Nigeria, it could be four major reasons
1. Lack of awareness or info about the visa

2. Affordability of the required blocked account for 6 months (about 4450 euros)

3. Jobs in demand mostly are in IT, Medical or Engineering fields.

4. Lack of German language is another hindrance

Some of your writeup is false. Germany has a job seeker visa which will be converted to work visa if you get a job in Germany within a 6 month duration.

Requirement is just a degree holder
