galaxylauncher:The insistence on high quality in this project is what impressed me so much! It is a clear departure from the usual useless poor quality projects executed by typical southeast governors. Where they hide under "lack of funds" to build absolute rubbish poor quality stuff. Yet it ends up costing the same as a real high-quality project would have cost. This is one of the few times in Nigeria where the actual building is more beautiful than the prototype! I will say it again, GOD BLESS WILLIE OBIANO!!! The man is a tiger the way he has managed to deliver this project on time and with every other facility that goes with it such as the dual-carriage main access road, Gatehouse, Parking lot for +700 cars, internal roads inside the airport, the perimeter fencing, fire station, tender crash fire trucks, water supply to the airport etc ! Whether they compile names or they compile juju, it is of no consequence to where the youths are to end all forms of oppression against them. All i can advise the governors is to thread very carefully. The youths have not attacked them yet because they have managed not to make themselves target. if they do and the youths see them as a target, they should know that not even Fulani police or army can protect them and their families. |

I have never heard Igbos say the reason they want to leave and govern themseles is because of Bendel or Yoruba. They have expressed it openly that it is the suffocating Fulani strangulation and determination to treat southern Nigeria as a conquered territory that must not be developed by Fulani Federal government but must be totally exploited and its resources stolen for Fulani exclusive use that has brought us into the current situation and impending civil war. Rocksvibes234:Excellent work still maintained the high quality. One would wish they start planting trees and flowers in areas already completed. Especially the main access road and internal roads with the car park areas. Planting trees with poultry waste and other organic waste products help the trees to survive and thrive quickly. But, you know they won't do it because their peoples' welfare is not their priority. cjrane:One thing i like about Obiano compared to any previous Anambra governor is that he likes to do whatever he chooses to do very well. Look at the Mall Peter Obi designed for Onitsha, the 2nd largest commercial city in Nigeria! Mind you, that was done when oil price was more than $100/barrel! Obiano just has a philosophy of thinking big and doing things to stand the test of time. When he said that he planned on making the runway 4KM to put this airport among exclusive list of airports with longest paved runways in Africa, I knew this man had the right character of doing things well and of standard quality to compete anywhere. Than fill the entire place with substandard mushroom projects. If any other previous Anambra governor had built this airport, it would have looked like a poultry and still cost even more! Perhaps, that was why people like me initially doubted it would be done at all, or done so shoddily cutting corners that it will end up another colossal waste like Rochas flyovers. That were built with such low quality that nobody dares to use them. As much as i talk about Umahi not paying attention to the ballooning poverty rate in Ebonyi state, i love him so much for also being a man of similar bold outlook to life and a commitment to doing high quality projects that can compete with similar projects globally. Lol...southerners are finally asking important questions to help them understand the Fulani game plan. RUGA was canceled even when 12 northern states donated lush green lands where the Fulani could settle and set up RUGA because the northern states are not those who are being targeted to annex their lands and exterminate the locals. The Fulanis already have their way in northern Nigeria. So there is no strategic need to capture more land in northern Nigeria. Let me first state that i am NOT against building roads, hospitals and needed infrastructure in Ebonyi state. What i am against is building unnecessary grandiose flyovers everywhere in a state whose people are truly suffering great deprivation and crushing poverty. You cannot solve the problem of poverty by building flyovers alone without investing in education, Agriculture and supporting people to start up small businesses. My problem with Umahi's focus is that he has totally abandoned education, agriculture and poverty alleviation to build senseless flyovers in places that only a handful of bikes and bicycles exist. EDUCATION is the bedrock of development. Without investing in EDUCATION Ebonyi state will continue to be a backward place that is poverty infested. Why can't you people seriously address the serious issue of lack of good schools for all Ebonyi communities? Instead you are clapping for a man using the money to build empty grandiose overpass everywhere that only Okada and bicycle riders are able to use? The same Abakaliki man will run to Anambra, Imo or Enugu so that his child will benefit from quality education. But refuses to ask his own state to invest in education and create quality primary and secondary schools in Ebonyi state FOR ITS PEOPLE! What is wrong with you guys? This is the picture of an elementary school in Ebonyi state where your children are forced to go every morning to learn! Even northern schools are much better. Yet none of you will speak out or even reason that an Ebonyi child deserves to learn in a decent school. Instead you will clap if they start a flyover over that building rather than fixing the classes with chairs, proper roof and teachers for the kids. All these Umahi propagandists here should be ashamed of yourselves! Ebonyi state is the ONLY Southern state with poverty rates greater than most states in the middle belt! Think of it for a minute that 8 out of every 10 Ebonyi state people in that state lives in abject poverty! Yet, you glorify a man who has not spent even one kobo on any poverty alleviation program or job creation scheme. Extreme poverty has continued to grow in Ebonyi state as Umahi is busy building more and more pointless glass flyovers. Ebonyi state is the only state in southern Nigeria where i see their women and nursing mothers used as laborers and worked like donkeys. Even the poor pregnant women have no choice than to work as block carriers in every construction site! What happened to Umahi using some of the money he uses for glass tunnel to buy them sewing machines to be tailors or give them soft loans of N50K each to become petty traders? It is truly a shame how low you have let Ebonyi people down. Take a minute to look at the poverty map of Nigeria below and the chart. Even many states in the north such as Kebbi are doing a lot better than Ebonyi state! Umahi uses their federal allocation money meant for human capital development, meaningful economic development projects to uplift of his people to build senseless elephant projects! Imagine that Ebonyi in the southeast is a educationally disadvantaged state in the same category as Yobe! Yet, Umahi has not built one primary school nor renovated one secondary school! In a state where 8 out of 10 persons live in extreme abject poverty, who is he building those grandiose projects that have no positive impact on the miserable lives of his fellow Ebonyians? 2 Likes

Everyone knows that even common fertilizer for cultivation, Umahi didn't give anybody. Even the former Governor Martin Elechi did so much for Ebonyi agriculture while tarring all the roads inside Abakaliki. Umahi is just building useless flyovers in his village that has no economic bearing on his people. I don't want to post pictures of Ebonyi primary and secondary schools here. So that folks will not view this as an insult. But, it is appalling what Ebonyi people are forced to attend as "schools" in the state. Under Umahi's watch, Ebonyi people became the poorest state in southern Nigeria! With poverty rate similar to war torn northeast state of Bornu and Yobe! A totally misguided fellow building senseless expensive projects that contribute zero kobo to the wellbeing of his people. While his people are dying in extreme abject poverty. Juliusmalema:Even with more than 200 new hotels and clubs opened in Awka, onitsha and nnewi alone since 2015, Obiano still built standard hotels to support tourism, and still has plans to build another one near the international conference center!
