Governor Obiano Recieves The New AIG In-Charge Of Zone 13, Anambra State.

By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)

A new Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Garba Mukaddas has arrived the state.

As is customary, AIG Mukaddas paid a courtesy call on Governor Willie Obiano at his Aguleri Country home to present himself to the governor and compare notes, aimed towards increased security of life and property of ndi Anambra.

The new AIG, a graduate of Usman DanFodio University, Sokoto has served in many police formations, including Zone 14, Katsina.

The visit coincides with the three hundred and twenty five days since the creation of the Zone on 8th July, 2020

Speaking after a closed door meeting with the AIG, Governor Obiano who presented him with an official vehicle, promised to synergize with him for the good of ndi Anambra.

Addressing the press, the AIG expressed gratitude to the governor for receiving him, assuring that they will work hard to confront and reduce crime in the society.

Highpoint was official vehicle presentation to the AIG by the governor.

Chief of staff to the governor, Mr. Primus Odili was present at the meeting.
Was it necessary to spend scarce state funds buying a brand new Lexus jeep for the deputy IGP? Where is the official SUV given to Dan Mallam, the last deputy IGP?

This is how we protested spending state funds to equip the federal police and army with hundreds vehicles, cameras, etc. While our vigilantes were given nothing. Today Fulani has withdrawn police protection from even the governors of the southeast that funded the federal police the most.

Unless we begin to understand that a cordial relationship with the federal police does not mean always spending scarce state funds on them to the detriment of our community vigilantes who actually protect the communities, then we have learnt nothing from Fulani police force attitude towards our southeast region and even the governors in the region.

PoliticsRe: Jubilation in Aso rock as Nigeria becomes '3RD Most Terrorised Country of world by OreMI22: 12:42pm On May 10, 2021
[quote author=Warripikine post=101545728]Nigeria has officially been declared the 3rd most terrorized country of the world.. This is despite the fact that Major news headlines like CNN, ALJAZERA, BBC, etc largely under report the daily kidnappings and killings that occur in the country of over 300 million heterogeneous people.

As reported by @channels TV, over 6.5 million small arms are currently in circulation in the country..

Among which, only a meagre 586,000 are in the hands of the army and police.

Over 80k deaths have also been recorded so far with over 3 million displaced across the country..

What this means is that, as it stands now in Nigeria, All armed forces have only about 600k firearms while civilians have OVER 6million fire arms..

Once again i say Congratulations!

Aso rock continue to jubilate because they think it is their plan for Fulani takeover of the country. It is not who starts a fight that determine where and how it will go. The clock is ticking.

Those who target ordinary civilians of other ethnic groups should not forget that they too have civilians in their own ethnic group.

The ignorance that all international flights originate from ONE airport abroad and must end in ONE airport in Nigeria is part of our biggest damaged mindset of being in Nigeria for too long. All over the world, one airport can specialize in receiving international flights from Asia and another specializes in flights from Europe, etc. There is no reason why Ethiopian and Turkish air that indicated interest to fly to Enugu should not continue to use the AIIA. While the new Anambra Intl. airport concentrates on getting direct flights from China and the far-east where most Nigerian traders visit. Truth be told, AIIA, Enugu cannot handle more than 6 international airlines going there daily. The infrastructure simply does not exist for enough baggage claim carrousel, airport security, or even chairs for intending travelers!

What we ask for each time we say London Heathrow airport handles 80 million passengers why can't Lagos handle the same? Yet we don't invest in the level of infrastructure to enable us to handle that population of passengers as Heathrow, or Atlanta, or Bangkok. It's like a village hut owner asking why his hut cannot contain 500 people to sleep in comfort while Nicon Hilton Abuja can contain 1,000 people to sleep in comfort. The answer is INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCTURE TO HANDLE IT! None of our airports in Nigeria today was built to properly handle 2 million passengers. So any airport handling more than that without a massive expansion of infrastructure is doing so chaotically and people will hate to use such overcrowded hellish facilities.

The sad thing about Nigerians is that they want all planes to land in one airport because it's located in their village, yet they won't spend the money to build such facilities to handle that massive number. Look at Lagos airport, it is congested and chaotic. It does not even have chairs for passengers to sit in! You will have to pretend you want to eat Mr. Biggs just to sit in their chairs and wait for your flight! Imagine if all flights to Abuja, Kano, PH are also forced to use only Lagos airport with its very poor infrastructure.

Countries where more than 6 international airlines use an airport ensure that such airports are huge! It must have many terminal and an adequate number of chairs for the number of passengers expected. In fact, many such airports abroad require trains to move from one terminal to another because the airport is vast to ensure an easy and efficient flow of passengers, landings, takeoffs, and where planes can park. Nigeria cannot afford to build such super airports, yet we always want our tiny terminals and tiny aprons to hold 100 planes at once! Not to mention the number of people who will need to be searched and processed before they get to the secure parts of the airport. It is often a logistical nightmare that countries with the poor organizational ability and inadequate infrastructure are unable to cope with.

I have said this before and will repeat it again because our people don't understand this fine point. We build airports so that BOTH Nigerians and foreigners can come and use the facility without crying about the hellish ordeal of going through our airports. The level of ease using our airports should be the same level of ease using Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town or Cairo, or Nairobi airports! Even Ghana has upgraded the Kotoka Intl airport because your airport isn't just for your citizens. It should also meet basic international standards and AVOID OVERCROWDING due to too few facilities INCLUDING QUEUING TO USE TOILETS!
Even in the most developed countries, it is foreigners that drive their international airports traffic.

Nigeria truly cannot afford to build the type of mega airports abroad that handle so much traffic at once. Apart from the prohibitive cost, Nigeria does not even have enough landmass for such mega airports with 5 or 6 parallel runways and 10 or more huge terminal buildings, even in northern Nigeria. Therefore the model of multiple medium international hubs is the only way to maintain decently functional international airports within our budget. Luckily that model helps to reduce regional tension in a highly complex and divided country like Nigeria where government policy deliberately seek to undevelop parts of the same supposed one country.

Tourism development is a big way to also drive international traffic by foreign visitors. Part of the reason Nigeria is unable to attract tourists is due to lack of many international airports in various locations that tourists can visit any part of Nigeria within 2 or 3 hours of a small international airport.

After more than one week of total paralysis and knock out from Father Mbaka's prayers, followed by the spectacular landing of three jets on the Anambra International airport, the night owl has finally recovered from unconsciousness to return here with his usual bitter venom against the glorious achievements of Obiano and Anambra state.

Well, let's oblige him because he helps the thread to grow more quickly. Even though I rarely read his deceitful and inconsistent posts filled with venom against Anambra people in particular and Igbos in general.

Even Umahi that is equally performing (infrastructure wise) owes salaries unlike Obiano!

We toil to build a multi-billion dollar business, yet we must conduct the entire business in absolute squalor and chaotic, filthy environment. The business rarely attracts any new foreign investors to grow nor command any respect at all because it looks so chaotic & rag-tag. Yet, it is worth so much! The general mentality of our people that the immediate environment around their business does not matter is a huge impediment to us.

This anambra airport, 06/24 is correct
I don't think they will make that kind of mistake. According to the cardinal you will see small numbers B4 big or maybe it's from Nigeria location because other Airports starts with small number/big numbers (that's either NE/SW or SE/NW)

The images below is Anambra Airport runway I identified on cardinal point and Abuja airport runway code respectively

Enugu airport 08/26
PH Airport03/21
Even Asaba airport is 11/29
Akwa ibom Airport 03/21
Lagos airport 18/36
Even Kano airport has same runway number with anambra 05/23 and 06/24

London Airport 09/27
JFK airporthas 04/22 and 13/31
Anyway, I'm not a specialist. It is just something I observed through educating myself here. However, I'm not sure if the actual compass is oriented differently from the paper illustration of a compass for runways that lie in a left-right horizontal direction. This is because if you use google earth to look at every airport runway in the world that lies in a left-right horizontal direction, the bigger number is always on the right-hand side and the smaller number is always on the left-hand side. You can do this research yourself. Even all the airports in the world with 06,24 runway orientation across the world follow that order.

So this redeployment is the novel solution to the insecurity witnessed? Our security institutions are so used to old tactics.
They are now removing Fulani people that dominated the southeast because they considered it safe and a place to make money oppressing the people.

Now that the people are fighting back and no more checkpoints to make money, they are removing their Fulani brothers and deploying fellow southerners to go there and die by #UGM.

This building below looks like a warehouse or clearing house
To God be the glory, the test run was an astounding success!

I don't think that is the cargo shed. I'm not sure Willie Obiano builds shoddy things. Even the generator house, emergency clinic and Fire Service buildings are solidly well-designed buildings.

They should check the numbers written on the ends of the runway. It appears the technicians wrote 06 on the end that should be 24, and then wrote 24 on the end that should be 06.

The 24 end of the runway is located north of 06 end (i.e; closer to the Crainburg work yard). Meaning, that landing on 24 end, the terminal building should be on the left side.

Still wondering how the cargo aspect of the airport is gonna operate. I suggested a few weeks ago that it may be that for now goods will be cleared by customs and evacuated as soon as they arrive for export or importation.
Likely a cargo handling and storage facility will be built when the cargo flights eventually begin. I'm glad they completed the passenger facilities first.

The best thank you gift that Obiano can give to Anambra's future is to get a reputable real estate company and sign the MOU for Anambra airport city project.

In that wayy it's guaranteed that the development will follow the master plan. Without such MOU, the Anambra airport city will become another unplanned Awada or Nkpor if a weak irresponsible governor takes over from him.

The MOU for Anambra airport city project with a reputable company should be top priority now to ensure the promise of a modern aerotropolis in Anambra is achieved . Even if a compound failure succeeded Obiano as the next governor.

The airport project
Part of the reason I say God bless Willie Obiano is not that he built an airport. Obiano stands out in his belief that what is worth doing, is worth doing well. I think only Dave Umahi is the southeast governor that has the same mindset and mentality of doing high-quality projects.

When Obiano redesigned the Agulu Lake hotel and got Golden Tulip to manage it, I knew Anambra was lucky to have someone who believed that standard hotels and projects should not be something you only see in Abuja and Lagos! Anambra also deserves high-quality facilities.
Apart from the poor federal allocation to the southeast region, part of what made the southeast government project look so mediocre is the pauperized mindset of its governors to always build the shoddiest of projects. That Obiano decided to build something world-class is the reason I praise him so much for this airport project and posterity will judge him kindly.

If this airport was built by a typical southeast governor, he would combine the control tower and the terminal building into these types of typical airport designs in the picture below that dot all over Africa. Then he would tell us that he did the mediocre airport project to save the state N1 billion naira. When he could have done the state better service by diligently managing the N1 billion naira to invest into a critical state project to meet a world-class quality. Just look at the Onitsha mall and compare it to the Ebonyi mall in Abakaliki or Enugu mall, and you will understand what I mean by a pauperized mindset of building the shoddiest stuff just for the sake of building something called a mall. But when they want to build their own personal malls, you will suddenly realize that they indeed know how to build high-quality projects. That Obiano rejected that pauperized philosophy of giving the worst low-quality projects to Anambra is the reason i applaud him so much!
