cjrane:Nwanne, forget them. Ike ga agwu ha. Let them kwantinue with their lamentations and posting pictures of New York city or the capital of Malaysia, as what a state government should build before they commend it for a good job, it won't change anything. The funny thing is that they won't send that same picture of New York to their own state governors to do even 1% of anything! Even to maintain the facilities built by the FG in their states, their silly governors cannot do that. Yet, they are here to condemn another governor building brand new facilities desperately needed by his state from the scratch, without any FG assistance whatsoever. |
I love the fact that they are sticking to the specifications in the 3D drawings

My brother from day 1, some people fought this airport for nothing more than envy and a desire to frustrate Anambra's development. They gloated and rejoiced when the Chinese pulled out of the project. Little did they know that it was even better so that the state would build and own it 100% without any debt burden! If you read the old threads on this airport, you will see how they mocked Anambra state that they cannot build an airport and probably will build the worst motor park in Nigeria! They have all swallowed their words and now coming to "advise" as usual! I just love that this airport gives them sleepless nights ![]() Ndi uchu! I love where told them that all their rants would end in nairaland as it changes nothing. The airport will be completed and receive flights before Obiano's second tenure was over! It was almost a prophetic statement by him! Their posts are still there for you to see since 2009 when the airport was finally approved. 1. https://www.nairaland.com/347129/fg-approves-construction-anambra-airport 2. https://www.nairaland.com/3741194/take-proposed-anambra-airport-project 3. https://www.nairaland.com/4127369/ongoing-anambra-international-airport-city 4. https://www.nairaland.com/6008666/anambra-international-airport-runway-stone |
The Wheel-Chair Access-Ramp has been completed!

Did anyone notice that they are using glass on the rail guards in the departure waiting area? They are not cutting any corners at all. They want to give the very best as obtainable in international airports abroad!
|
Truly a very modern airport being masterfully pieced together! With modern airport security surveillance systems
|
Tallest and one of the most modern ATC control towers in West Africa.
|
In case they haven't seen it. The airport is almost ready for opening. They should cry more. Perhaps buy sniper now because more fantastic pictures are coming with the installation of escalators, furniture, and luggage carousel.
|
Obdk:I love that this airport makes them cry. The same types of people complain there is no development in their village but will poison anyone who does well in their profession to ensure the entire village remains poor. Imagine if these people are Igbo, we have all been crying to the FG for a befitting international airport in the SE. Now that one has been built truly by providence, they are angry because it's not in their state? What type of people are these?
|
You know what happened to the money. So why are you still asking "what" happened? |
What is truly amazing is that Obiano insists on the best quality international airport to bequeath his state! No shortcuts or shoddy jobs are acceptable! Truly, this airport should be named Chief Willie Obiano International Passenger/Cargo Airport to thank this great son of Igboland! God bless Gov. Willie Obiano! God bless Prof. Charles SOLUDO! God bless Anambra State! God bless Nigeria and give her a fair governance structure to save her from her problems!

Anambra International Passenger/Cargo Airport Update ~ Interior of terminal building: WORLD-CLASS!!!

Olashobbie:I just had to issue this warning especially to those who may fall for these multiplicities of shadowy "real-estate" agents everywhere! My people please, please, please be VERY CAREFUL with these multiple "real-estate" agents everywhere looking for naive people to milk and dupe. ESPECIALLY those of you living in the diaspora or outside Igboland. I am currently in a huge mess with one of these real-estate people for land that i purchased through them last year. Not all of them are fake, but there are so many fake ones that have suddenly sprung up in the last few months selling "lands" they have not acquired legally from the communities and registered with the government. It is gruesome now for me to pay a huge sum to the original owners of the land, and then go and register my land with the government after I had already paid a huge sum to the real estate company! Who in fact was just a mere "agent" for the land. But posed as though they had acquired the land and once I paid them, everything was final and one! When in fact, they had no real documents to show they had acquired the land from the community. Thus you pay the "real estate" people and still pay the real cost of the land to the community! Then you go through the battle of putting the land in your name at ACTDA. It can be very very gruesome. Please be careful not to fall into the same trap that I'm currently suffering. |

cjrane:Judging by Obiano's antecedents, he does not believe in shoddy or half done projects. Obiano will likely complete most of the requirements before the commissioning and opening of the airport for public use. |
RUBBISH POST! AS IF YOU VOTED FOR THEM, thus they owe you quality representation! Have you finished drinking Ofe nsala to realize there is something called Senate? B BTW, The next election is coming and they will still "win". While you will stay home drinking ofe-nsala. Just to come out a few months later to lament on the social media. As if it changes anything. |
10mobile:He just has to settle them. After all, it's already expected that they will investigate his source of sudden stupendous wealth as they are mandated by law. They will just harass him for a few months to account for how he became a billionaire so quickly. Then they will probably extort some huge amount from him or charge him for tax evasion if he actually made his money legitimately. That is the worst-case scenario. |
hammerDK:I don't think NCAA will allow rugs that can be blown off by jet blast to be near a runway. Laying artificial rugs can never be allowed next to a runway in the name of making the area have a semblance of green grass near the runway. I'm sure ICAO will also not approve an airport with such dangerous rugs laid beside a runway or any debris whatsoever near a runway. Actually, the main purpose of the grass around the runway is to prevent erosion and not really for aesthetics. That is why the airports in the middle east where there is little rain don't even bother about grassing around their runway because they know erosion isn't a problem in the middle east due to poor rainfall. I think the idea of using grass seeds can work if the seeds are not washed off by heavy rainfall. This is how powerful a jet blast is. No rug will stay on the ground for 5 minutes when subjected to this awesome blast force from jet engines. That is why it will be a safety hazard to use turfs instead of natural grass around a runway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqVjD3nBSQg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfUfBWvmzA4 |
Mathoj:Ignorance is truly bliss. ![]() If you are an aviation enthusiast and you have been following the structural designs of new airports globally, you would know that Anambra airport exactly conformed and followed that new trend globally. In fact, you will easily know that the airport was designed by foreign experts who had built modern airports recently and not Nigerian architects who are addicted to SQUARES. As if a building could not be built unless it was a square with a triangular roof.
|
cjrane:Exactly. They are making effort to prevent mud or sand deposits on the runway. Which is fantastic. It shows there are safety conscious to ensure the friction on the runway is topnotch. |
Baddest006:But where are EFCC and ICPC? If its to harass innocent hardworking people, they will be at the front. Yet, someone abusing the national currency with questionable livelihood where they could make billions by arresting him & charging him for an obscene display of questionable wealth, they are missing in action! |
Craneburg's state-of-the-art ATC tower at Anambra International Cargo/Passenger Airport, Umueri The tallest control tower in Nigeria
|
Ddokie:So-called UGM are DSS men! It was all a game to justify heavy military deployment in the peaceful southeast. |
I totally love the fact that Obiano is determined to bequeath a totally modern international airport that can compete with similar facilities globally. Whatever is worth doing, is worth doing well. Kudos to Obiano for his insistence on only the best quality on his projects. One hopes his team begins now to aggressively do landscaping with grass and flowers around the buildings, and trees along the main access way.
|
ejanla077:I think posting the updates here is so much torture for him. ![]() He truly hoped and prayed that Obiano would build a mediocre project. But was soooo disappointed. ![]()
