Imagine the young man from Jos was brought down to SARS in Anambra so that his people won't even know his location where he will be silently killed.

Secret illegal detention camps, torture camps and secret killing fields should never exist again in Nigeria. The the souls of innocent people shot and killed in cold blood in these centers rest in peace!

Kudos to Governor Obiano for living up to his pledge of shutting down all SARS illegal detention centers and gulags in his state.

Unlike Igbo business men that empower those that served them, the Fulani herders that rear cattle for rich Fulani men for 20 years aren't even rewarded with even 2 cows to start their own cattle herd. They are entrapped as slaves forever to rear cattle for rich Fulanis without any empowerment to start their own business.

These are some of the reasons Nigeria must break up because the people are so different in mindset and so suspicious of eachother.

I wanted to state how truly unpredictable the apprentice scheme was, but was glad when i read this post. As you aptly stated, no Fulani man will ever agree to serve an Igbo family for 5 to 8 years without any contract of how much they should be paid at the end of the period. Even Almajiri Fulani will not mortgage their life for 5-10 years serving someone in "trust" that they will give them some money at the end of the period.

Someone asked what Nigerians want from Igbos? Truth is that Nigerians are totally consumed by a mixed emotion of hate, envy, respect and frustration that despite all that was done by Nigeria to destroy the Igbo, they still thrived. It's like what is truly their secret, so we can destroy it once and for all??

Instead of quarelling with Igbos about their culture, Fulani people can also imbibe the Igbo apprenticeship system in their cattle business by settling those cattle rearers who work for so many years raising cattle, killing farmers on their behalf and making billions of naira for them through sale of cattle in faraway southern Nigeria. But, they won't do it because their culture isn't about helping anyone improve themselves even fellow Fulanis. They only look for how to cheat and take advantage of the weak forever.

Trash. You made the same arguement when Asaba airport was being built. You have also bitterly protested against Ebonyi airport.

Meanwhile, you forgot to protest the Kebbi, Nassarawa, JIgawa, Gombe, Bayelsa etc all have state airports at various stages of completion. Once it is SE, all your yoruba vile will come up. Yet, you see no contradiction promoting another airport in Lekki !

Anyhow, everyone knows that many cities in the world with up to 1 million population have 2 or more airports. ~1,000 cities worldwide!

"We are sure it will be ready in April because we have enough money to complete it."

The governor said this to assure the Minister of the state's seriousness to complete the project, so that the Minister could be available in April to commission it.

It was the yoruba press that twisted the Governor's words to imply that he didn't want FG assistance in completing the airport!

If SE should build a seaport it will be in southeast ! Precisely at OBUAKU, ABIA STATE, SOUTHEAST!

STOP suggesting that an already marginalized region should go and build for another richer region while their region remains without infrastructure.

@Oremi, Obiano has to deliver a full functioning airport, before he can demand that the airport be named after him. Trust me, if he delivers a 30-40% complete airport the next governor who will work on the airport wills surely change the airport name and that will be comely.

Totally agree that he'll need to deliver a functional airport that operates at least daylight flights before he could claim he built it. That is totally understandable.

Very important, because both sides of road is still virgin lands.

Hopefully, they will make a rule that lands on both sides of that airport road are ONLY Hotels. We should not allow No markets or ugly buildings on that road. it is the first place that international passengers will see when they land in Nigeria, so it needs to have a good ambiance.

In our clime, only hotels tend to take planting of trees and grass seriously. Even government building look like crap in Nigeria. With hotels lining that airport boulevard, you not just have aestheically pleasing enviroment, it helps those using the airport to easily find close lodging to catch midnight flights in the future.

Like how about 5 miles to new orleans Intl. airport, you have hotels on both sides of the road serving airport passengers and making the environment so serene and posh.

Yes, I support the naming of the airport after any notable personality of Anambra extraction.

My argument is based on the location. After the name, mention the location.

Naming the airport after its builder "Willie Obiano International airport" is not bad at all. If its just the last thank you gift from the Anambra house of Assembly to honor his meritorius 8 years of outstanding service to Anambra state.

If it was not the tough, dogged character of a man like Willie Obiano, the airport would NEVER be built. Typically, Southeast Governors often like to hide under mountain of excuses of "lack of funds" from doing any major infrastructural project that will truly develop their state. Instead, they will use the money to share bags of rice and palm oil to people that would eat that and remain poor. As against building things that will boost the economy and create jobs so that those people can buy their own rice and oil.

In the Southeast today, only two governors are hungry to give their states true infrastructure to help them leap frog to the next level. These are Obiano and Umahi. Thus, these two men deserve the honor of naming the airports they are building after them. Just like Imo airport was named after Dee Sam mbakwe for his tenacity to build it in spite of all the obstacles he could have cited as excuses why he couldn't build the Imo airport.

Siddiki said the clarification became necessary following growing suspicion and speculation in some quarters about the activities of herders in the zone.

He said it was imperative to correct the impression that their interests in the region were beyond economic pursuits.

Siddiki explained that the suspicion that herdsmen were harbingers of Fulani territorial expansionism had degenerated into unhealthy relationships in most parts of the region.

The chairman said such suspicion had made members of the association to be increasingly uncomfortable.

He said herders in the region were desirous of striking harmonious relationships with the people of the area in order to avoid mutual suspicion.

Siddiki stated, “This suspicion is rooted in the speculation that herdsmen are harbingers of Fulani territorial expansionism.

“However, the leadership of MACBAN, under my watch in the South-East, has continued to discuss appreciably well with the individual state governments in the zone.

“I am happy that the dialogue gives us hope for better understanding between our members and their host communities.”

He said the group would not hesitate to report any of its members found to be involved in criminal activities.

He called on the governments of the South-East states to ensure the protection of the body’s members and cattle, adding that herders in the area would be made to take precautionary measures while plying their trade.

Siddiki said that MACBAN recognised that the challenges the herders were faced with in the region were not tpeculiar to the zone, adding that there were bound to be conflicts between people of diverse cultural orientations.

He, however, said it was time to sort out the differences.

The MACBAN leader stated, “We, hereby, jointly resolve to fully lend our efforts toward fostering an enduring and harmonious relationship with our host communities.

“We urge members of our host communities to be more accommodating too.”

Siddiki described the people of the South-East as good and promised that MACBAN would not do anything to create tension in the area.

This statement is so filled with hypocrisy that its obvious Miyetti Allah is plotting serious evil for the region. Whatever their intentions, It will definitely snowball into an orgy an violence nationawide.

Southeast has little or no land for open grazing without straying into peoples farms to destroy their livelihood and source of survival.

If you cannot simply keep your cattle in a specified area, then you already know that you went there to destroy the people period.

Its like the man who set off and explosive device in a crowded market saying his only interest was to test the devise and not to hurt people. Does it make any sense? If you truly don't want to hurt people common sense dictates that you will do things slightly differently to steer clear of hurting people.

Soulcity Obosi is a laudable project designed to have a cultural and artistic features.The smart city will have museum ,African centre Cultures and Arts ,Cenimas ,Mini zoo,Amusement park.

If African Americans seriously invest into this project and create a mini diaspora city where they can own properties and a piece of their own heritage in Africa, it would serve everyone well. They can build sustainable businesses and create employment, while helping Nigeria address the foreign exchange crunch.

But, i expect the Fulani government of Nigeria to thwart the effort since anything that isn't in Northwest region or Abuja should not survive in Nigeria. No matter how laudable the project is to the Nigerian economy.
