Its quite obvious that he is not aiming for the initial plan, due to lack of funds, as the Chinese firm is reluctant to finance the $2bn project. But there would possibly be an expansion in the future, when there is substantial economic boom to attract investors who are sure of its profitability. Some large airports weren't initially built that way, there were way smaller.
You are right.

All he needs to do is reserve enough area for future expansion. Around the world, airports are built in phases. Till date, the Newark international airport terminal building continues to be increased and more runways being built.

All Obiano needs for a takeoff of the airport is one good runway of 3.5 KM by 60 meters, a good control tower and basic terminal building like Uyo international airport terminal building. Infact, since more than 10 years of Uyo international airport operating, they are only recently begining to construct the main terminal building. Also, Uyo airport taxiway was completed many years after the airport became operational.

Then the rest of the taxiway, permanent terminal building, cargo warehouses and other facilities will continue to be added as the airport develops.

Ofodirinwa:
I'll say this before a white person says it but many are waiting for a white person to say it so that it's official.

Southeast Nigeria is the #1 tourist destination on earth next to Mecca Dubia and Paris. 'December time' is what other countries and people call tourism. If 2 million muslims go to hajj every year, I can confidently tell you that same amount of Igbos fly in from overseas, or drive in from Lagos, Abuja, Kano, etc in the same span of time. Every airline in the world knows this. In December the hottest ticket worldwide is a ticket to Nigeria. Nigerians regularly pay 2k-4k to make this trip while most non-african countries can never sell you a ticket for more than 1500 to go anywhere.

After paying the 2-4 you will know lodge in a lagos hotel, giving your money to lagos, then drive to Ore, eat, drive through edo drive through Delta until you're home. You get home and where ever you stop there are no less that 100-500 people who made the exact same trip you did in your village talkless of state. This is every state in Igbo land and everyday from 1/4th of the year. Why not give these people an airport? This type of traveling is abnormal world wide. In countries where the average person doesn't leave their state like the US, 1 city the size of Onitsha will have 2-4 airports. Forget about 'the average nigerian'. The Nigerians flying in from the US alone will overwhelm any airport in the southeast that takes international flights per state.
True analysis!

The only problem is that our people vehemently prefer to use airporrs outside our region on the most frivolous excuses. Its so difficult to explain to our people that they help create good jobs, reduce crime and generally raise the quality of life in the region by simply using airports in the southeast for international travel and return. In essence, the money they pay in hotels lodging, taxis, food after landing in Lagos and Abuja are losses for businesses in the east. No wonder businesses in our region rarely thrive and our youths must run to Lagos or Abuja to eke out a living.

Again, our governors should encourage private investors to set up fun activities in the state capitals. You will notice that our people only stay in their villages during their visit snd then fly to Lagos or Abuja to spend an extra week visiting fun places like amusement parks, water parks, conservation centers, art centers, zoo, museums , decently planned readymade African dress and decorative art markets etc. The lack of these facilities make it impossible for our people to have fun and spend their resources while in our state to support the local economy.

Enugu is the headquarters of IPOB. They should take the python dance to that backward shithole. Recently ipob and police clashed in Enugu
In the past i was totally against IPOB arming its self and engaging in self defense because i thought the army had no reasons to kill them if they obeyed tge laws. Now it is clear the fulani militias have infiltrated the army and using all sorts of smokescreen to kill even law abiding Igbo youths. Therefore, the time for srlf defense had come.

The only twist here is that they need not attack the army head on unless via guerrilla attacks, since they still have disadvantage of inadequate weapons as civilians. They should target their retaliatory attacks on the civilians members of those ethnic groups attacking them and hiding under the cover of "Nigerian army".
PoliticsRe: Atiku: If We Truly Deregulated, Shouldn’t Fuel Price Drop? by OreMI22: 4:46pm On Sep 08, 2020

PoliticsRe: Water Resources Bill Is Done Deal, Says House Committee Chairman. by OreMI22: 2:37pm On Sep 08, 2020
Southerners should stop this redundancy and fight!

It is clear that Fulanis will not stop in their war to conquer the south. If they deploy their army to kill any of our civilians protesting, we should retaliate on their civilians in our communities and areas. Bottomline, they are doing these crazy laws to give our land to these people. They will find the place uninhabitable for their civilians too.

After the water bill, they will pass the land bill and continue annexing all our resources until we become refugees in our own land.

Who told you that votes really count in Nigeria? If it did, Buhari will not be having a second term. Everybody know it was INEC that manipulated him into office.

So this faceless men trying to pretend they are the real OHANEZE should bite the dust. IGBO DOES NOT NEED PDP PRESIDENTIAL SLOT IN 2023. For 2023, it's the APC that is asked to give its Igbo members a chance! PDP is free to give it's 2023 presidential slot to the Northeast, after which it should go to the Southeast! Get it right and don't get it mixed up!

PoliticsRe: Nnamdi KANU Should Either Fight Or Disband IPOB He Is Endangering Igbo Youths by OreMI22: 4:32pm On Sep 01, 2020
Nnamdi Kanu is a thoughtless, tactless coward who is only interested in how to Deceitfuly obtain his livelihood from hyping the hopes of these youths on Biafra. Every week, he promises them that he just met the UN secretary general and he would declare Biafra at the UN by February. Then he changes the date to June.....then change the date to October. The next change will be announced this month as next February! grin

Nnamdi Kanu neither has the courage nor leadership capability to tackle Nigeria's security forces in a guerrilla campaign. He only knows how to issue endless threats that he couldn't carry out or insult Igbo elders to distract attention from himself and blame his failures on other people. I pity those youths who trust that con man.

Continue running your mouth. You think Nigerians don't see through the actions of your people. Your minister avoided mentioning the 1million Ghanians living in Nigeria. He didn't have an answer to that. So how do the 1million Ghanians earn a living?

Mind you, when Nigeria hits Ghana down, you will stay down for decades to come. We would consign Ghana to irrelevance, hence we are being careful. Your president knows that.

BE WARNED.
I see a second Ghana must go loading....

This time, their houses, business and accounts will be frozen to prevent them from packing with the former Ghana must go bags.

Pls what's stopping the Nigeria police, dss and the military from clashing with the killer herdsmen and the bandits running riot in the northern states of Nigeria, they are quick to attack and unarmed group of people yet running away from the enemies of the nation,
They will once Nigeria divides.
Right now, northern militias are hiding under the cover of herders to kill southerners. Which largely plays into the agenda of people controlling Nigeria's security personnel.

Since fulani men hide in uniforms ti slaughter Igbo youths. The Time to begin retaliatory strikes on fulani civilians has become justified.

Nobody should argue less on the morality since nobody sees the immorality of killing an unarmed person who does not threaten you in any way except simply being an Igbo.

I watched the videos and was disappointed to see all she showed was fenced buildings..
All are public places no one will stop her from covering.

The video didn't do justice to the Nnewichi community she claimed to cover...

Make she go find another work. Forget sentiment... Maybe she should stick to food vlogging...
Wow! this data you used to watch this 15 minutes video really pained you grin grin grin

If i didn't know about youtube, i would have actually thought this was a very expensive movie premiere that you are lamenting the movie was poor after an expensive ticket. Truly nobody cares if you come from Nnewi or Nnokwa. Although everyone here knows you are yoruba. But, extreme stinginess is an indicator of deep rooted emotional disorder that one should check out. The cheapest drone costs about 60k. Even buying data to upload these videos mean a big deal to most of these young people.

Not everyone can afford drone. Just support them since they are being resourceful using their phone and their time to create a job for themselves in this hard country .

It costs you nothing to subscribe but means a lot to them in the opportunity to get some financial reward on their videos and some type of employment for themselves.
Meanwhile, their income will help Nigeria gain more foreign exchange and help stop depreciation of the naira. If you care about the Nigerian economy.

Those Police and army people praying and pushing IPOB to take up arms and slaughter Fulanis living in the southern states by covering the heinous killing of IPOB members should know they cannot control nor defeat what they are stoking or praying for.

The President Muhammadu Buhari and Enugu governor should institute a judicial panel of inquiry to unravel what happened and punish those involved before this is allowed to fester into an armed insurgency.

I am quietly waiting for Nnamdi Kanu's broadcast that will hilariously hold the traditional rulers, market women, governor of Enugu state , Okada riders association responsible rather than the culprits- Nigerian army and Commissioner of Police.

I heard the guns used were Chinese made AK47. So i expect Nnamdi Kanu to list the Chinese president as responsible rather than Buhari.

Bloody coward!

Op wetin you hope to achieve with this post
I feel so sad that the current generation of Igbo youths feel they need some type of validation from Yoruba or Hausa to feel confident. Unfortunately, the duo will only target things that undermine them. Nobody has been told how fulani managed to become a tribe with the greatest number of cattles and even wiped out native cattle breeds in Igboland and southern Nigeria. I feel sad that the oppression in Nigeria has truly affected the psyche of young Igbos that if they are not validated by these people they won't value themselves.
