Atiku's mandate was stolen. He won the elections clearly, then Buhari used power of incumbency to change the figures under the guise of collation How can more people vote in an insurgency devastated zone than many PDP stronghold states? Truth is that the south needs to get over the total opposition to war and confront the reality that it MUST fight the Fulani at some point. It is an inevitable recurring decimal that MUST happen at some point. I am just waiting on folks to come to that realization sooner than later. The Palestinians are not fighting the Israelis for conquest. A war isn't always about conquest. The biggest concern now is that once you are in power, you can use the army ,Police and INEC to announce whatever you like as results! This Buhari style and trend will simply kill our democracy! Atiku won at the polling units level in the country. Yet, it is the fake results written at state INEC headquarters that is being used. Atiku did not lose the elections. Atiku actually won the elections and Buhari stopped INEC from releasing the results so that he could massively inflate the votes in some northern states to offset his defeat. The time to stand for true democracy in Nigeria has come. Else we would have a situation where sham elections are organized and someone just sits and writes numbers to be announced as result. 4 Likes

The issue today is how to save our democracy. We are at a very crucial point in our history where whoever is in power can merely write results he likes and ask INEC to declare them as votes. All that we know as democracy in Nigeria is being demolished. Alhaji Atiku should not give up in leading the fight to save our democracy and save Nigeria. Buhari's rape of democratic tradition will not stand. Organizing sham elections and merely writing numbers and asking INEC to declare them as votes for him is a very bad precedence that cannot be allowed to begin in Nigeria. Something drastic needs to be done about respecting democracy in Nigeria. We cannot be spending billions of naira to conduct elections and a few people will sit in a room and write numbers they like as the result. It is better to live under military rule than live in such brazen rape of democracy. |

This is truly a period of national tension due to the manner chosen by Buhari to rig the 2019 Presidential elctions. Every Nigerian is aware of the fault lines of religion and ethnicity especially between the north and the south. Therefore, Buhari's chosen path of rigging the results in many northern states will stoke the tension between the north and the south again when the issue is raised. Although Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a Muslim from the north, he is widely regarded as a moderate northerner who understands the multi-ethnic and multi-religious composition of Nigeria. Many fundamentalists identify with Muhammadu Buhari's approach to disregard any other ethnic or religious group except his own. The constant of result of the behavior of past leaders such as Buhari had been bloodshed. It is obvious that the 2019 Presidential election is now a referendum on the poor quality and failed promises of Buhari administration. INEC is determined to announce fake results, so Nigerians must be vigilant and defend their votes to expose them. The issue right now is how to make sure Buhari respects the wishes of Nigerians and accept defeat. Buhari has already set up high-powered machinery to rig the elections. The task now is to make sure that the people's votes are counted. Buhari will definitely try all sorts of stunts with INEC to rig the elections. That is why Nigerians must be vigilant and defend democracy.
