UyaiIncomparabl:

A housewife is a homemaker and as well a home manager. And if she's a competent and energetic one, that's perfect

For me, there are no DISADVANTAGES.

Side note; you are allowed to have your opinion(s). Don't force yours on me or make me see reasons why your reasons are superior to mine. And if you say that housewives are being maltreated or cheated on, then Ataga's wife should have been adored and be a monumental piece of worship by her husband. If you marry a man who's conscientious, kind and humane, you will know peace. Working-class or not, you will be disgraced and trampled upon by a man who doesn't understand how to treat a woman right. The advantages and disadvantages depends on the kind of man you married. Please, let people do whatever works for them.

Housewives dey and housewives dey, abek.

Not here to counter Ur opinion. Being a sit at home mother is truly stressful but there is nothing stopping the woman from doing something from that home like any small biz to earn income.

Referencing Ataga that u mentioned I would like ur honest response on this.
What would ve been the faith of late Ataga's children if his wife wasn't working?

Trust me it won't ve been easy at all feeding and schooling of the children.

The singular reason why I won't support a sit at home wife that does nothing is if untimely death takes a way the husband what then happens to the children.

Politics / Re: Breaking News: Wike Defies FG Signs VAT And Other Bills Into Law by Orlaoluwayimika(m): 4:38pm On Aug 19, 2021
FarahAideed:
Very reckless move by wike ...I hope this won't lead to double VAT taxation because it seems it's going to end up like that ...The Nigerian masses will bear the brunt of this and this may set a precedence for other governors going this way ...If the FG has not ceded VAT then there is not need for Wike to activate his ...this will only end up making the cost of service and good go up and the massed suffer more ..the transfer of VAT from FG to state must be done properly if not it will end up in a chaotic situation where consumers end up paying double VAT of 15 percent

I ve seen ur arguments of this leading to double taxation and I would say I stand to differ.

If company pays their VAT to State govt and FIRS wants to force them to pay the same VAT then they can meet in court.
As of now their is a court decision that says companies shld pay their Vat to state govt so companies won't be going against any law that way then the court decides if they are liable to pay a double VAT.

Let FIRS follow court rulings by Defying this means they re going against the Law.

I would only blame Wike if FIRS has already appealed the rulings

Consumers would neva bear such brunt Vat is 7.5% and I won't pay anything higher than that for any commodity or service

Did you just hear that?

Access Bank is actually the most useless bank when it comes to security.
All fraudsters that ve been paraded that I ve seen always point it out that with Access bank it is easy.

Misplace ur fone and that's all.

My uncle was a victim last year as well. His fone was pickpocketed and all the money in his acct was wiped out and those fraudsters also went ahead to take payday loan of close too 100k and trust me Access bank was not helpful at all in retrieving the money plus the payday loan was automatically deducted from his next salary.
They couldn't even trace the bank acct of the recipient

It was actually a long tussle plenty of mails and in fact legal battle before the money was reversed inclusive of the payday loan earlier deducted.

Trust me that was one of the reasons I made up my mind neva to use my Access and my Old Diamond acct again.

They actually still exist some companies still use them for their recruitment test just that they ve now gone digital. So there is no need visiting their office.

The stupid thing about them is they set questions with a timing that is very unrealistic. Most people that pass there test do guess work or register with two diff mails copy the questions note the answers and use it to answer on their original application.

Honestly when it comes to Private Uni in Nig the most rated Uni in Nig is Covenant followed by Babcock every other ones I don't know how to categorise them.

Quality of education for the Uni mentioned above I can say is top notch but I don't know about Achievers Uni.

I would advise u choose Babcock over Achievers becos of the competition in the market now.
Check most companies new hires Covenant and Babcock graduates ve the highest no. of hires from private Uni.

It was a funny bitter experience.

We were in 300L in the Uni then and we had a 7 AM test on a Friday morning. After the test, a female colleague sitting nxt to me went to eat so she left her bag on the seat (the lecturer was still in class at that time so she dashed out).

Lecturer left around 8.30AM or there about and next class was 9 AM. Usual thing everyone stood up for gist and the likes. This lady had not come back at this time and the guy sitting in the 3rd seat while standing up mistakenly hit her bag that was placed on the middle seat (it's a foldable chair) and everything inside it fell. Right there the bag was picked up and everything was packed inside her bag.

I also went outside to catch some gist with my friends before the 2nd Lecturers arrival. 2nd Lecture had commenced before she came back and lo and behold immediately she came back I told this lady her bag fell while she was away but we had packed the things that fell out inside her bag so she could chk if there was anything missing and probably chk the floor or something.

Monday morning whilst in class preparing for the 1st lecture of the day. This lady just walked up to where I was sitting few metres away and beckoned on me with a tone that gave me the instinct something was up.
I went to her and she strtd the whole story of an Infinix fone was in her bag and she didn't see it when she got back to her hostel in the nite.

Mehn I choke when she strtd the whole story so the next thing I asked her was but I told u ur bag fell while u were away on Friday. I expected if she had valuables in her bag that was meant to be the 1st thing to check and she didn't until nite.

This lady strtd drama that she was going to report to a lecturer blabla. I told her to pls go ahead cos the whole thing was just funny to me and I remained unperturbed.

I was in the library when I received a call from Student union Security Council that I shld report to there office that same day (students as well but if u love urself just adhere to their call)
I was very well familiar with there modus operandis so I called a class mate who apparently was their Gen Secretary at that time to inform him of what happened but he didn't pick so I sent a text but he didn't see it until I had gotten to there office.

We were at there office - questions were asked we both talked but the fools handling the case I guess were carried away because it was a lady that was involved.

The fools there seized my phone went tru all my social media app to see if I had chatted anyone in recent time that I had a fone to sell.
Those fools with the lady inclusive came to my house in town scattered my whole room to check if the fone was in my house (I allowed all of this cos I just wanted to proof to this girl I didn't take her fone- in fact I paid everyone's T-fair to my house and back to campus)

It was when we got back to school that the Head of Security Council who had just gotten to the complex inquired about what was happening and the whole story strtd from the beginning again.
The guy was the one that dismissed the case.
He asked the lady if truly I told her - her bag fell when she was away and she confirmed I did.

He said if u had valuables in ur bag that would be the 1st thing u would ve looked for and it is almost unbelievable that u didn't rmba tru out the day until late evening.
He concluded she must ve lost the fone somewhere and was just trying to look for someone to take responsibility for it.
I went to SUB with my friends the nxt day to do little cwazy for them for the useless harassment melted on me the previous day but I had to allow it just to prove my innocence to this crazy girl.

She was still not satisfied with this - midnight she sent one yeye msg that she was outside in the middle of the night naked laying some form of curse that whoever took her fone was going to die in 7days time
Come and see me in those 7 days omo I careful die to cross road sef I dey look not just right and left I dey look up and down make we no go die for devil to shame us for wetin we no do.

Apparently the mistake I made was to notify her that her bag fell and she also felt it was my responsibility to look after the bag in her absence as per say na bag I com watch for school.

Each time I rmba that case, I am always sad and it still bewilders my imagination that what could ve given this lady so much assurance that I took her fone. We nva spoke till we left school cos of that incidence

TOSIN I didnt take ur fone ooo I hope the person that took it died from ur curse I just really hope so.

Iyke1998:
I'm writing this out of frustration.

Exactly on the 18th of February this Year, someone hacked into my Facebook and had access to my 3 atm Cards.
One belonged to me and the others to my Friend.

I made a complain to Facebook, they investigated and confirmed the fraudulent activity and they immediately made a refund of this money.

Weeks later my friend got a refund of his money on his two accounts.

Till now I'm yet to get mine.
I've called access bank, they keep posting me,today , tomorrow etc

I just want to know if it's possible to sue them.

Access Bank is one of the most useless bank in Nig they aid fraudsters becos they would neva aid their customers in investigating any fraudulent cases in their account.

An uncle of mine had a similar issue of someone using his acct fraudulently to get payday loan that they deducted from his nxt salary about 100k.

Trust me it wasn't easy at all he wrote series of mails and at 1st they reversed the fraudulent payday loan becos he was able to establish he wasn't the one who got it and later they still deducted it from his' nxt salary.
It wasn't an easy ride but he kept on writing mails to them by putting CBN and CPC in copy but it seems that didn't pull much weight.

He got a lawyer to write them that he was going to sue them within 7 working days if they don't reverse the money and any incidental cost incur in the course of the case would be refunded by them.

It wasn't an easy ride but they eventually reversed the money tho the 7 days ultimatum had elapsed before they did but he eventually got his' money back.

Where I'm going is do not relent keep writing them at intervals if the money is much, u can get a lawyer to write to their office put CBN in copy and u can drop one in CBN's office but if the money is not too much, just keep sending mails and put CBN on copy.

Wheat being the Raw material for Flour and an increase in it is price would ve a bad effect on majority of the populace becos every common man's food price would increase from BREAD to Indomie.

The interesting thing about the whole thing is he has the right to connect his' own house from the pole because the moment a pole is erected, it automatically becomes PHCN's property and it seizes from being the neighbour's property max they would say is if there is any community fees that needs to be paid, he shld pay it then make his' connection.

Access bank is a very useless bank.
They ve Zero Customer care relationship and this boils down to our regulatory bodies and our Country.

Access Bank is currently doing something similar to one of my uncles.

His Phone and oda valuables were stolen after working hrs and what he cld only do was to go to the police station to report that evening and he went to d bank d following morning just 4 a regular complaint.

Getting to d bank the following morning was when he discovered money in his acct was trfd and d perpetrators also took pay day loan of almost 100k from his' acct- how dey were able to do this easily still baffles me.

The issue now is from the bank stmt one can't really tell the recipients bank just oname of the recipient appears on the stmt.

Since last year Nov my uncle has written mails and letters to Access bank to fortify him with the banks name and further details to aid police investigation but they ve just been turning him up and down.

First they said they can't give the bank name that it would be sent to police and till date they haven't.

And from there lackadaisical attitude in the UCH branch and a kinda mockery look like just forget about it u can't get ur money back. Cos the lay day loan plus interest was deducted immediately from his Nov salary whilst the bank themselves fails to carry out investigation, they ve also failed to help my uncle get justice by providing him with informations.

My advice to anyone using Acces bank as there regular bank protect ur bank acct jealously becos if any unfortunate happens Access bank is the last bank to go for any help.

Cos what a normal bank shld do is to also investigate the issue cos it whows how porus there system is.
Anyone that has access to ur mobile no. regd with d bank can apply for payday loan trf it and get away with it..

ACCESS BANK IS A USELESS BANK AND THEY ALSO AID Fraudsters IN ROBBING You.

I just came across this video now and now I understand how they were able to trf his' money.

Family / Re: HOw Do African Youths Deal With The Numerous Bills From Family And Friends? by Orlaoluwayimika(m): 9:39am On Feb 27, 2021
HappyNigerian:
It’s the beginning of a new year and that means new bills and more responsibilities and thinking back at last year just gives me some sort of joy at how I have planned this year for my bills.

My family lives in Ibadan and I live in Lagos and I must confess that it is such a struggle to pay their bills while working in Lagos here. I am the first child so I have to send my family money every month, and my siblings every week.

My family DSTV bill is also something I have to do monthly while I also ensure that all my siblings get airtime on their phone every week. It is such a traumatic experience when I remember that as I am planning all this small small money that when you calculate it, it becomes big money, I have to also plan bank charges inside of it as well.
I moved out of the house at a point to make ends meet as the first son of the family especially as my parents are getting old and I’m their only source of livelihood as it is right now, some people say you do not owe your parents anything but well, I do not believe in this and I take care of my parents and see it as my duty and what I owe to them to do.

Schools have resumed, Nishola, my sister needs to go back and would need fees and other miscellaneous expenses. Femi my brother is preparing for his WAEC to enable him get into the university. My parents of course have medical bills to be sorted as well every month.

When I calculate this in total every month including bank charges, it is over 100,000 monthly that I spend last year not until this January when someone mentioned how PalmPay gives people rewards when they do transactions. At first, and as usual, I did not believe it but that is not the point of the thread.

The point of writing this thread is really to ask, how do African Children deal with the numerous bills that they have to pay for the family and friends?

Hi OP I understand how u feel cos I can relate a little bit with what u re facing.

What I do for my siblings. I give them monthly stipend and they already know they can't call me for any further kobo except in a case of exigency (like when they re ill)

For ur parents and siblings device a means for the monthly stipend and make it regular and make sure wen dey call u for further cash let them know u don't ve except in a case of exigencies.

Cut out irrelevant things like the Dstv sub. but if u feel u will want to keep on giving them something for entertainment u can get a Gotv decoder thank God it has most of the entertainment stations then u do lower sub cos I blive pop man and mum can't watch more tha. AFRICA magic and probably CNN.

That way u already ve a budget u re working with in a month

But In any way I condemn violence from both sex

What exactly is ur point?.

Domestic violence on either of the genders is bad.

If a male gender is the victim, let the male gender also walk away from such relationship.

If a male gender needs to defend himself from a physical assault let him do so but mind u care must be taken ooo in doing so cos if the unfortunate happens, it wld be very hard to proof he was defending himself.
So the best bet is to so walk away.

As a man, ur life is also very important.
