In Yoruba land where I come from, we bow for kings irrespective of their age. And the stool of Oonirisa as the most reverred in Yoruba land is ideally respected by all, irrespective of the age of the occupant. That said, the occupant needs to accord himself the respect he deserves by watching where he goes and his associations. Attending every "owa nbe" and fraternising with politicians could easily reduce a paramount ruler's respect and influence.

On another note, are you aware that Obj prostrated for Ooni in his palace and likewise did Fayose. Am sure you aware that they are both old enough to be his father and uncle, respectively. So, your argument of Ooni being young and undeserving of Governors' respect, holds no water.

u haven't said anything wrong except the fact that you also lack respect. Asides the age of an oba, his position deserves such respect from subjects irrespective of his age. That said, alaafin is seen from the old man's perspective and it behoves on political leaders who by right should not bow to him , to respect the age of the alaafin and bow to him, not because of anything else but for the age. Fayose chose to bow to the ooni because he liked to do so and that doesn't stop him from being the governor of Ekiti state that he is. Obj on his part never bowed to any traditional ruler when he was president of Nigeria. Today he is a subject and a chief in yoruba land so he must bow to the topmost king of the yoruba people. Pls if u must lecture us as purported , don't insult us . U don't knw if I am older than u or not. Last time I checked, Yorubas have respect for their seniors .
