We sin because even though we are saved, our minds have been programmed to think and therefore follow the old nature and that is why the Bible says we must renew our minds with the Word of God Romans 12vs2.
Also to be carnally minded is death but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace (ROM 8v6). Death in this context means all that was characteristic of the old nature such as sin. The Bible tells us how to overcome sin though, please read and meditate on Romans 8 vs 10 to 11. Renewing the mind with the Word of God and by the Spirit of God is why you see new converts become more and more Spiritual as they grow older in Christ.
