zaynie: My son is 5 and won't sleep if I'm not in the room.
My daughter will say " I want to sleep on you" she like sleeping on my tummy.
Yes we cosleep. Hahahahahahahaha! I give up. So no hope for a change anytime soon? |

AlphaHandMaiden: Ovems, Babylove01
As I write this I am sat comfortably while my little boss madam snoozes off.
When we weaned off night breast feeding and carrying to sleep, I would have to lie with her on the bed ( double bed in the spare room _ Yes she has her own room oh complete with a cot bed and all...... story for another day.) But she used to take FOREVER to sleep . Sometime sef in the middle of cuddle to sleep. The next thing I hear is hubby's voice " are you sleeping too?"
So in other to get her to sleep quicker I started backing her........ And it worked like a charm........ she would be out in 5 mins. I get to chill with oga small, finish tidying up and have a bit more of a relaxed evening. Very nice.........
........... but as some little human was nearing 12kg and my back nearly come and break we had to change the routine back. I Kent die!
So now we are back to chilling beside her while she finally sleeps, before I sneak off and leave her.
What I try to do is to finish most of the evening chores in the kitchen at least before we retire to bed usually by 20:30 - 21:00. I let her run around well beforehand and usually no cartoons after 19:00. We have a bottle of warm milk, kiss everyone goodnight, do a wee in the toilet ( potty training thingz) go to bed, say prayers, read a book (she asks to do another wee trip ). Then I turn off the lights. ( then maybe another wee trip to the toilet to wee a microscopic 2.5ml of wee... )
On a good day we sleep within 20 mins. Some other days .... if you like off the moon join the light! Somepeople eye go still dey shine! - so on such days we have to do cuddle to sleep, plus singing. And she will even start giving you playlist sometimes. Sing....Twinkle star, .....abcb,.... baa baa baa sheep........ Like seriously!!!
Even when she sleeps I stay for another 30 or so mins and I usually use the "down time" to catchup on some emails, or do some computer work or crochet or just chill a Bit, gather my own self and thoughts as I have been on a buzz all day.
So whilst I still think children that you just carry and put in their beds are fictitious, this routine works for me for now. As she gets older maybe we will EVENTUALLY get to a stage where I can put out the lights and leave the room when she is still awake and my neighbours won't come and break the door asking who is putting pepper in someone's eye. Lol! Thanks for this. I pray he changes soon. The disadvantage of this pattern to me is that most time, especially when I still have a lot of work to do before bed, once I get into bed with him, I will sleep off too. I need him to go do his own thing. |

babythug: Welcome on-board!
I can only suggest a gradual withdrawal ie if you lie in the bed with him switch to sitting on the bed and then sitting on the floor and next to a chair and then out of the room!!!
Good luck Thanks babythug, sometimes, I sit on the bed too and he sleeps but if he is still awake and I come down from the bed, he comes down too. |

Thank God for this thread and the first topic which is sleep routines. My son will be 2 years old on Thursday. In order to establish a bedtime routine which ended up not working, then we were still nursing before bed, I had to get into bed with him. Now we have stopped breastfeeding but that pattern has remained. No matter how sleepy he is he won't get into bed on his own to Sleep. He would rather wait till I get into bed with him. Please how do I break this pattern? Cc Zaynie, Blank, AlphaHandMaiden, etc. |

Most of these artists that sing love songs don't have a successful love life. Eg, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, etc. Everybody is searching for love. Celine Dion 's case was even better. She had a successful love story. Married her first love and wasn't divorced till he died. At lease she wasn't a fraud, she was singing from her heart. |

freeman67: Hmm where I want start from sef...
First I ordered a phone and some of its accessories from them since on the 2nd Dec 2017. The items were from JumiaNigeria global & I was told it would take minimum of 2 and maximum of 20 days. On the 7/12/17 I got a text that my items have been shipped. Then on the 23/12/7 got another text that I should come and pick them from Lagos while I am in Abuja and the my address and required pickup station is clearly showing Abija. I contact their customer care and I was told not to worry that the items would be sent to Abuja. Till this moment I haven't got them. I still got a today to com to Lagos. The worst part is that I tried cancelling my oder but was told I can't because I ordered it from a global store. Seriously in need of the phone...no money no phone...really in a big mess already by shopping from them.
Another one is that I ordered some shoes/sneakers through them and they sent me some fake shoes. The shoes were made from upholstery material..
The fear of JumiaNigeria is the beginning of funds reservation.
#JumiaNigeria is fraud. Pay on delivery option is the best. Won't feel their disappointment because my money is not lost. |

Chukazu: But am sure it should favor her .
Regardless of the controversy, people would admire her dexterity and court her unique touch
"Bad news is good news after all"
I guess she wanted to trend like Ebuka's tailor (the guy trended so well that INSPIRATION FM invited him for an interview) Yeah, they said any publicity is good publicity in showbiz but this her own is not good o. Ebuka's tailor didn't have any controversy attached to him. |

Awoo88: The tailor was using the dress to advertise herself. She was giving the dress to everybody to pose with. That tailor is a criminal. I guess she thought the bride won't give the dress the exposure that it deserves hence giving it to Mercy. Which is really wrong. She should have bought her own material and made something else for a celeb to wear. |

Vivere: The tailor brought the bad exposure, upon herself. What nonsense is all this? How can she be giving a dress which was paid for by another client, to someone else to wear? Now, 2 people have worn the dress apart from the real owner! How disrespectful! It is all shades of wrong!! She is lucky that the bride in question is not related to me. She for see trouble, with a capital 'T.' Yes you are right. The tailor did a very stupid thing. |

When I first saw the controversy surrounding the dress, I said to myself that it may not be the bride's own after all she is not the only one that has the material. But everyone that has worn the dress keeps tagging the tailor. 2018 is not doing this tailor good sha. It's her year of not so good exposure. |

zaynie: Yes you can apply as you see fit. Coconut oil and olive oil are organic so it shouldn't be a problem. It is the mineral oil (baby oil) that you should be wary of. I know it smells heavenly and gives babies that distinct baby smell but it isn't really good for their hair or body. OK. Thanks. Will follow your recommendations. |

Good morning mamas, compliments of the season! Biko I need your assistance. I remember a time when hair products for baby girls was discussed on this thread but can't locate the page. Please, when can I start using shampoo on her hair? And which one should I get? I remember that it was said that we shouldn't wash the hair everyday. Zaynie, Muna 's hair is an inspiration to me. My daughter is just 8 weeks old. For now, I just wash the hair when she is bathing with her bathing soap and then apply olive oil and comb. Thanks in advance for your contributions. Anugod: Thanks, but the pain is not from the breasts oh. I learned about the tips and areola on this thread too, but the pain I'm talking about is from my stomach o. Was told it's uterine contractions as the uterus contracts back to initial shape. Very painful sturvs but my nipples are not paining me sha OK. True. That too is very painful. It will pass though. Just keep enduring it. Lol. The sacrifices of a mother is unending. Concerning the sleep thing, I have heard of mothers with maybe a 7 year old child that still have to wake him up at night to pee. Anugod: Congrats to all my teamies that have dropped. Team November, we have just two mamas to go, Yaaay! Sisiyemisi and holutosin how far? We're rooting for you, no porting to december
Mheen, I've been MIA, vigilante has been
Shey I was shouting ebf the other day? Why didn't you mamas tell me breastfeeding was going to be this painful? As if I entered a second labour, see me breastfeeding and crying as my uterus was contracting
Ebf is just a scam jor! After all my big mouth, I couldn't retract so I just continued. But you mamas shoulda warned me naa
The good thing however is, I'm almost back to my pre-pregnancy tummy! My uterus has gone down so well that I'm almost flat tummy now (was not completely flat pre pregnancy sha). You wouldn't know I just put to bed No hot water pressing, no post partum belt wearing, no stomach tying Just breast sucking. But it was hellish in the beginning o
And erhmmm, I need to go on a break, even if it's just for one day Shey motherhood doesn't have off days ni? I need me my beauty sleep! Can't I just get a full night's sleep just once more before I continue? Good afternoon , sorry to quote you. I am a peeping member but want to contribute to this as I have also learnt alot from this thread. The breastfeeding is painful because she is sucking on just your nipples. same thing happened to me during my first and my mother in law told me to apply Vaseline (it worked) . But with the second, I applied what we were taught in antenatal class by trying to put not just the nipple but the whole black around around the nipple, the areola, or most of it anyway, and I didn't have any pain. You can check some YouTube videos too. I hope this helps. |

Yes it is. You can choose to have the traditional first, that way, the elders won't be able to waste precious time with all those unnecessary drama since the registry would have given you time already. Or you can do the traditional last. Your choice. But it's very possible. |
