Illusioneffect:I had to scorch possibly the entire movie index internet for this one,and i was able to find probably the only copy that exists currently online via torrent. |
abduleez1:The chatters is that it is set for DEC 5th release....fingers crossed.
|
abduleez1:i have already copped "May December", and it is next on my watchlist. Omo...e be like that your prediction don dey come true o, about good content releasing in December 👀👀 becuz the month is barely a week and i have been eating good. Hearing TKOTFM is out on VOD is week...mannn see stuffing 😩😩😋 |
The Holdovers (2023) "Breakfast Club esque with Christmas stuffing". This coming of age story about a "disgruntled" history teacher tasked with "holding over" a set of boys who couldn't be home for Christmas. The story and premise is charming, and the on screen rapport between the 2 leads is exceptional. Although set in 70's, you would never know as the warmth of the plot and the encasing Christmas feeling makes it a delight to see. It is far from a been a perfect film though, but maan...i am up for anything that even remotely has Paul Giamatti, he is able to bend and act flicks like this and Private Live (2018) that is so affectionate that you can't just tag him as "that guy from "Billions". He delivers an all timer here that saves the entire thing when it attempted to go bland...He is such a terrific actor and definitely one to watch out for during the award season based on this. Surprisingly, I am having such a terrific run at good films in these last days of 2023, after the shambles the first 3 quarters had been flick wise. It bodes so well for 2024. This one is for the top shelf. 7/10.

Yeah...we are so back! 😩😩😊

Anatomie d'une chute aka Anatomy of a Fall (2023). A delicately fabricated mystery thriller with a french flavour that would make John Grisham proud! I have been looking out for this one since i saw the trailer sometime ago and it landed on my coffers on Friday and i had to devour almost immediately... Starts off as a murder thriller with less intensity, but as it begins to peel away, it cascaded into a heated courtroom drama where under the uncanny scrutiny of the law and strangers, mistakes, secrets, and mental health issues is laid bare as our main act tries to defend herself in an apparent murder of her better half with her visually impaired son, seemingly the only witness. Sandra Hùller delivers one of the finest acting i have seen in a female lead for a while, and she was basically the bane of the entire thing. Shame the Oscar big prize might ellude her because the movie seemed to be in an "Oscar limbo". There's something about the french language that makes it so pleasing to hear, more so, it being spoken in a heated courtroom!. The dialogues were heavy with intent and so so good, totally reminded me of my one my fave movie "Marriage Story" (2019), that towed the same genre path. Big shame, France decided not to submit it for best foreign language film at the Oscars next year due to the director's political squabble with the French President But make no mistake, This was a special special film! 💐 8/10.

abduleez1:The Farewell ( This might be my all timer Asian feature, probably because at the time i saw it, it resonated so much, emotionally with what i was going through then). Past lives Shoplifters The Asians know thier craft tho. |
WHITELIGHTER:The "Will Smith" in question is infact an English comedian and not the one you are thinking of. |
Baddestguyp:Oh really? Pray tell which tactics would you have employed? Because you have been shamelessly harassing people here with AOT content for months now and i believe some people on here are practically seeing Eren in their dreams by now..TF. I was trolling...nothing serious smhTrolling una. It means you have been "trolling" all these months and years, because if they search your handle with anything AOT related, it is a 98% match out of your entire post on NL. So it not just tonight that this "trolling" as you are calling it, started. It is borderline harrasment at this point. Nobody is telling you not to gloat about your fav show on an obvious public TV series forum, but it takes a sane man to discern gloating from been a total nut case all altogether. And btw your statement is false...lol Yeah, AOT is the template and most shows fail terribly at what it excelled at 😒😒... really?? You want to tell yourself this? Like how many shows have you seen to come to this nasty conclusion?? I repeat again, there are tons of shows to do it like AOT or even better, i have seen enough to know better but years of too much romanticising of the AOT lore has warped any shred of sane objectivity you would have had when comparing AOT to other shows, and that is clearly none of my business, my own is that you should hop of this "trolling" and stop being a nuisance. |
Baddestguyp:At the italicized... You've most likely described like 100 good shows who have had similar traits or even did it better than AOT. That's why most people on here are bursting your balls daily about your daily whinge about it and quite clearly it is becoming so cringe. Most people would most likely be turned off from it thinking you are unnecessarily hyping it . In all honesty, the show is over now, it's time to give it a rest and move on, or take your whining to a place where the discourse would be more appreciated. |
Illusioneffect:This might not be the proper thread, but i keep seeing y'all rate "Jawan" highly and i am struggling to know why. The story was absymal and in some part defied any sane logic. Plus the action was the same dramatic nonsensical Bollywood trope action style that has become so tiring. An easy 4/10 at the very best. |
chikizzy:I got the Redmi Smart Band 2 from chikizzy store and it was delivered within 2 days. The ease of transaction was something else. Thanks chief 🙏🏿 |
Crumbian:Yup. He is actually quite accomplished lol. He got an oscar and a Grammy i think for the Black Panther (2018) score. |
Baddestguyp:lol. This was what the Actors/writters strikes was about. So many factors necessitated the hiatus. Like 60% is production issue. With the deal to end that strike meant production can't hurry the animators and they are also talk of them not wanting to "lose steam" competing with other titles that would come out during the holiday season on the same network. My problem is that, they had about 1 year to make this season 2 so these excuses sounds silly. |
abduleez1:i gave up on this after Episode 1 S1 😭😭😭...i don taya....how many shows man wan watch sef?? 😩 |
Kaycee7:Mannn. I was in total awe of it! I immediately wanted to see it again after the first run, only my declining 2hrs PC battery and epileptic power supply stopped me 😩😩. But I will rinse the hell out of it in the coming days 😅. Ludwig cooked with the "Mando" score, but with CN previous association with Hans Zimmer, i thought he would score this too but maann Ludwig did a fantastic job. I don't think another project this year had a better score. |
abduleez1:Exactly. Contrary to what Martin Scorsese is always waffling about, CBM might actually be one of main pillars of the industry. The definitely produced the bulk of the movies each year, and there was a time when they were very good. I like to believe the current dip in form is temporary, and they are certainly not gonna lose thier core fans over these periods. I may be openly rebuking recent CBM but i still end up seeing them, either on the big screen or VOD. At bolded. This!!. The thinking that CBM is one dimensional might be the greatest lie ever told, like you have pointed put, CBM can surely "bend" and offer the same story but with different perspectives to make it more attractive. The CBM genre needs a hard reboot right now, but the allure is never going away...the fans are never going away. CC Baddestguyp. |
Apt response 👍🏿. I can't imagine the number of movies of other genre that was made off the profits of the billions, Superheroes were making at the B.O at a time.

"Oppenhemier" (2023) "Now i am become ☠️.. the destroyer of worlds J. Robert Oppenheimer, July 16, 1945" Perhaps one of my biggest regret in all my years as a cinephile will probably be passing up the opportunity to see this on the biggest of screen, so i had wait months for the home media to drop because CN is so hell bent on a long cinematic run for his flicks 😒, it finally dropped and it still took me 2 weeks after it dropped to see it, so as to be in the right "head space" and i can wholeheartedly say, the wait was 100% worth it, because simply put, this masterpiece is the best movie i have seen this year, and most likely the best i have seen in a long while. There are so many good things to talk about this epic biopic that i am so spoiled for choice. This might be one of the very well told biopic in Hollywood history, The J. Robert Oppenheimer big screen story was all that you wanted it to be, A genius scientist that was not even the best of his generation is tasked with creating a weapon of mass destruction, a literal "world destroyer", after an initial hesitation due to what it would mean for those who "mean well for the weapon" and "those who do not", but with his jewish heritage mix with intense antisemitism of the Nazis in WW II, he is finally convinced that making said "destroyer of world" weapon will end the Nazi's antisemitism and effectively end the war, fuelled by this and his eternal obsession for success and perfection, he gathered like minds on a long stretch of barren land on Los Alamos to make the "world destroyer", but before the bomb is even complete, Adolf Hitler, the Fuhrër of Nazi Germany, the eternal enemy of the jewish folk, puts a bullet through his brains, eliminating "the need" for the bomb, but with the Japanese still hell bent on the war, JRO forges ahead in making it, and the movie then juxtaposed into the thought and afterthought of the sheer personal moral wobble and unbridled guilt or not of making the deadliest weapon this planet has ever known. The cast is such an underrated star studded feature, Christopher Nolan was able to convince some of his "usual suspects" to star in this and also added some more star power. This movie had Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Josh Harnett and even Gary Oldman. But perhaps the star of the show has to be RDJ and a certain "Cillian Murphy". It was nice to see RDJ shine in a project where he is not wearing an iron suit, post MCU RDJ is a gem! and except something shifts significantly, he is locked for best supporting actor during the award season. J. Robert Oppenheimer was an eccentric enigma of many facets, a physicist maniac obsessed with how atoms and neutrons, affect the Jewish and communist world around him and how his personal life fits into all this . In Cillian Murphy, Christopher Nolan, found a perfect method maniac to bring his epic biopic to life, Cillian has always been on the fringes on previous CN project, but he is at the center here, the very nucleus of the entire thing, in the entire run, he never for once stayed out of character, with one of the finest method acting i have ever witnessed. He had the best acting performance by a lead actor this calendar year, and should deservedly get the Oscar top price. Christopher Nolan has already established his hold as a master filmmaker obsessed with absolute perfection but he takes it up a notch with this . The production value of this was 100%, the finest in a while. The deliberate usage of "White and Black" for the Lewis Strauss narrative and Colored for the JR Oppenhemier narrative meant there were so many shots you can actually frame. The cinematography was heavenly and it might be subtle, but Christopher Nolan uses different aspect ratio for different scenes in his movie to properly tell a particular analogy or emotion the said scene is trying to protray, and it was used brilliantly here. It might seem tedious to watch in one take because so many things seem to be happening at once, but the payoff is huge, followed carefully, the enitre movie was like an interstallar travel through space and time, that is beautifully crafted for the sci fi, drama or both enthusiast to enjoy. My disdain for movies with excessively long runtime is open, but 3 hours felt a little bit short, because of how good this was. Christopher Nolan favors loud noises with intense background score, (He surprisingly opted for Ludwig Göransson instead of Hans Zimmer , and the "student" made "the master" proud" to convey dread and anxiety, so this movie will be much more enjoyable with good subtitles on. I also noticed how, each scene with where they discuss the science of the atomic bomb, it cuts to a representation of explosive atomic reaction. Yeah....i have no doubt that this is the "Best Picture" of the year...none of that Barbie rogbodiyan nonesense! This is my best movie this year, heck, This is "the" best movie this year!, and it might be for awhile. A phenomenal motion picture true and true. 9/10.

MCU might have done indelible damage to the superheroes lore with the nonestop nonsense they have been for the past 2 years. But takes like this irks me, like let's us all pretend like "CBM" didn't hold the industry down from like 2008 to 2019 at the very least, like people were not packing cinema halls full to see these movies, like multiple CBM released didn't earn 1 bn greens or more, like "infinity war and Endgame" weren't world event on their premiere dates!. It this wasn't "Real Cinema" then what actually is?? I like Martin Scorsese but and i have tried to find a reason to defend these statements and his obsession with CBM not being "real movies" but I can't really find a tangible reason, so i think him and the industry might be jealous of the overwhelming success of the CBM in recent times. Variety is the spice of life, and these "arsty" flicks and CBM flicks can actually exist side by side. I want to know why someone killed native Americans in Osage county but i also want to see Batman beat the sh&t out of gotham and Arkham insane inmates too 😒

toluxe0075:It will most likely get nominated, but winning it, is another matter all together as there are some many factors in play riding against it, and i for one, don't think the film's message or theme is "socially conscious" enough to get best picture. The little matter of it not been an original screenplay with the "'96" issue is also there. |
IngeniousLeez:Bot mannn fgs 😩😩 sorry 😄. Yup. If you follow best picture well over the last few years, the movies with the most "buzz" in a certain way, tends to be top contender and eventual winners, simply put "the most talked about" movie, in a way gets it, they interchange some times, to pander to one woke idealogy or deliver a "pity' giveaway to stem a certain crowd, hence the "CODA" and "Parasite" wins recently. So just free best picture for Barbieheimer. As for individual awards, apart from Margot Robbie who is locked at about 70% for Best actress in my opinion, the rest are totally up for grabs. No really stand out individual performances as far as i know. I might be one of the few people on here who haven't still seen "Oppenheimer" 😩😩, due to the uncanny reason of me being out of my comfort zone for weeks now 😞, so I can't personally gauge his performance, but from hearsay, i heard he ate good, but his career trajectory has always been that of a "wildcard", a "rebel" if you will, so his performance might warrant best actor, but the Oscar board might feel he might not be the "right fit" to take that coveted crown. I know Cillian Murphy, na proper crase man, he fit no show up for the award sef fgs 😩😩. The rest awards are totally up for grabs, and so much riding on those December releases to properly have a good reading on where we at with the individual awards. |
abduleez1:lol I am a "Jpeg" guy and i am a sucker for good ones, so trust me, "The Marvels" poster is so visually stunning, the colour grading sequence going on dey burst my head 😩. I have a 4K version of it as a Desktop wall and maan it is so vivid 🫶💐. You got some nice ones on here too. Movie posters were totally eating good, this year. |
abduleez1:lol @ bolded 😂😂. WB is not going to submit their "unicorn" for best picture??. They most certainly will!. It is like their best shot at winning. If DUNE 2 was released as scheduled, they would have had a chance with that. But you see that "WONKA" it is never winning best picture, and it will be a miracle if it is even nominated if they push it. I can't explain it, it doesn't have the "aura". "The colour purple" is even worst. The cast is so underwhelming and i am not expecting any spellbound performance from that lot. The only true talent there is Coleman Domingo. Barbie is not "best picture" material under normal circumstances, but we are not under normal circumstances are we? The movie was modest at best, but totally blown out of proportion, and probably made the most money for WB this financial year, so you can bet your bottom dollar, they are definitely pushing it. I am even hearing chatters of a "Barbie medley" performance before the Oscar event. Best picture, Best director, best cinematography, best costume and best original song is "Barbie"s for the taking, it will so eat with those, forget those December releases you have high hopes for, only Oppenheimer stands a chance in hell from a complete Barbie domination. |
This year but have stank up the place with bottom barrel flicks, but them graphics guys were probably the only clear thinking people in them prod teams, cuz these year was totally filled with gem movie posters 😩🤩...These are some of my best 🎨
|
abduleez1:lol "Past Lives" "Best Picture" shout might be a long stretch, cuz I'm not sure those Oscar goons will allow indie gems from one studio win back to back Best Picture. But it is definitely up for Best actress, best director and best original screenplay, these are tenable for it. If A24 are feeling lucky, they can "sell" it as a foreign language film and they will have a shot at that. I don't want to jump the gun here, but I'm like 60% confident that Best Picture is between Barbie and Oppenheimer, not necessarily for the film itself, but the build up and them releasing the same day might be the biggest rizz, Hollywood has seen in years. Barbenheimer was such a pop culture phenomenal, their are chatters in some quarters that it surpassed, "the BB finale" and "The Red Lady resurrecting Jon Snow" moment in recent pop culture history...it was that big! Just look at the wiki page! Yeah, no movie is touching those 2 for best picture. KOTFM would have tried, the marketing of that get as e be. But "Past lives" is/was one of my fave films from this year, i am hoping i can do a top 10 list this year, it would be right up there.. special special film 💚🌟
|
phr0nesis:That RT is so stinking and dangerously close to been rotten...TF. Most likely due to Ridley Scott sparing with critics on a perceived historical in accuracies with the movie 😂😂 abduleez1 bin tell me say "Oscar best picture material" full December 👀👀😂
|
Baddestguyp:A mixture of both and some other contributing factors. The "Superhero Fatigue" rizz is down to MCU/Disney themselves practically releasing Super hero content every market day for the past 3 years, and most of these projects are of low quality, so people generally have a 90% confident of them not releasing any quality material going forward so movie goers tend to stay away. Bad movie fatigue too. Like i have stated here before, a good movie is a rare find these days, so the ROI on movies is at an all time low. The Covid pandemic VOD shebang also did a number on the movie industry. People know how quickly these movies become available to stream now, a month tops most times, so why risk going to the Cinema to see a potentially bad movie whilst you can stream/download it within a month? These things would surely hurt BO numbers. A billion dollars BO movie, would be a very rare find going forward. |
I'm glad to see she has already taken the BO inevitable L like a champ 😩😂.
|
Not just the most in demand anime currently, but the most in demand show in the world. Ngl. We need to probably have a discussion someday about AOT matching Naruto's legacy. These 2 might be the best material this genre has produced in years 👀
