OhBritannia:Elon Musk having 100 billion dollars is not the problem, but has been able to create a "collective wealth system" through his Innovations?? Which is yes. Do you know how many people have become millionaires through Tesla alone? Even Elon Musk has monetise twitter, that even some Nigeria creatives are earning in dollars monthly by simply just being on Twitter!!. So if you think he is going to share his money to you for doing absolutely nothing, then you probably do not know how the world works. Moreover, billionaires have done more here, than your government, Bill Gates have been funding polio and malaria control in Nigeria for years, Billionaires elsewhere are funding researches world wide to tackle medical crisis like cancer etc. That's what do can do, they cannot call you to 3rd mainland bridge and hand you money because you are poor and they are rich, basic economics doesn't support it....Try dey read guy, make you broaden your perspective 😒 |
abduleez1:Them dey always try guilt trip billionaires but the billionaires sef no send as them they acquire more wealth 😂. Elon Musk and Bill Gates likes, have created a collective wealth system through their Innovations, and more millionaires if not billionaires are been created through that means. But here, corruption and greed is rampant, so the wealth is kept within a certain circle among the elites. See if you dey wait make a predominantly black nation get sense, you fit wait till eternity 😭😭 |
The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi: Episode 2 2023. Almost twice as nice..... The part 1/ episode 1 of this left things on a knife edge as it ended abruptly just as things were about to get cooking. I had some expectations for the concluding part, and i was left almost satisfied. "The Origin" really began in this installment, and the writers showed great dexterity in unraveling why and how "Madam Koi Koi" came to be and i have to applaud the layers and texture they added, they told the origin, going through 3 different timeline without missing a beat and i must say they did brilliantly. But, again, some part went flat and they more or less looked like fillers, and i personally didn't see the reason they needed to split this into 2 parts, as a one part, 2hr: 30mins runtime would have sufficed. There was also some part of the plot lines that defied logic but i guess that is expected when dealing with mysticism and spiritualism. I expected more horror too and i purposely saw this at the dead of the night to see if they could scare me, but it was still the make up gimmick albeit the eerie soundtrack added a little air of suspense and dread. The production value was fantastic and the cinematography was top work. After sticking a wobbly landing, they then tried to insert a MCU esque post credit scene with the caption "Madam Koi Koi has returned", and i am like, there is absolutely no reason to make any sequel to this expect it is in another universe with a different story all together. 6/10. Final rating for the entire thing 6.5/10.

OhBritannia:You keep missing the point. China and India that are more populated are doing better because they are "developing" thier large population. In contrast, Nigeria is densely populated without "developing" the population and that's is the key difference. You sound like you don't read alot or you have a grasping problem but i would suggest you read in details what human development index means and how it affects the growth of a nation. Thinking that politicians should stop stealing and that will magically fix Nigeria is total foolery, because it is never gonna stop. Corruption exists everywhere but it doesn't hinder development in first class countries because this said corruption doesn't affect the basics, but here they might allocate resources to build common pipe borne water here, and they will embezzle the money, then the whole community will be without water, in all of this suffering, you would now still bring a child to suffer this with you??. Nigeria is rich in natural resources but Nigeria itself is not a rich nation so stop deceiving yourself. At bolded, Yes, Elon Musk that has worked hard for his money with breakthrough innovations, should share his "billions" with the poor to eradicate poverty abi? and that sounds like a perfect logic to you?? Keep on waiting 😒🤦🏿♂️ |
OhBritannia:That's why i said that's an African mentality or a Nigerian thing, so i wouldn't blame you if you think so and there is nothing i can say that will change your mind, but i know and i have seen better to know that this thinking is shallow and retrogressive. Forget that agenda of not believing in the institution of child bearing, that's Bullock used to console themselves but i tell you for a fact that every woman on the surface of this earth wants a child she can call her own.Yeah, White that developed all the IVF techniques and all birthing solutions and even adoption is there and you wholeheartedly believe something is wrong with her that's why she doesn't have a child ?? lool. You would be quite shocked at the number of perfectly healthy wealthy people in saner climes that have basically decided to remain childless...again open your mind. As for nations and child bearing!!!Here lies the major problem. On paper, 85% of Nigeria parents can't take of the children because 85% of Nigerian parents are in abject poverty and Nigeria is the capital poverty of the world with a basically salary of 30k per month and that translates to a measly 30$ per month!!. There is basically no resources to match our birthing rate, in saner climes, Government social workers would have collected most people children here because of lack of care by the parents. And secondly!!!! The world is filled with so much wealth and the poverty situation of the world can he eradicated In less than a month if the elites and billionaires and multi billionaires decides to end it."The world is filled with so much money doesn't translates to Nigeria's money" The billionaires and Elites of the world are in sane places that doesn't have basic problems like basic amenities to contend with because they have a high HDI and have kept their population in check and have the resources to take of them, there is a collective wealth in those countries that's why you see the top 100 billionaires are from Either North America, Europe or Asia. They don't have these basic problems you contend with here!. They have money to make atomic bombs because they have already taken care of their citizens to a great extent, even the atomic bombs they are making in a way is to save their citizens from external threats, now why would they send such money to Nigeria of all places? I didn't say child bearing is the only problem but it is one of the major cause, As a poor man in Nigeria with a salary of 30k, you have no business having more than one child, because anything more than that, is bringing innocent children to suffer with you in this hell hole, it may sound too cold but i am speaking facts, i am a data person and the data is very clear that Nigeria is nowhere near capable of supporting it's population presently. Do you know how much politicians steals from Nigeria in a year? The currency of a poor man is ifs and hope. Nobody is paying any civil servant 100k basic wage per month, it is not even possible in the next 10 years if we are been realistic, our economy simply can't support it and it is delusions of grandeur to even think it. So if you know the politicians are mad and greedy, and they are not going to pay you high wages, why not do yourself a favour and stop unnecessary procreation to make sure your megre salary is enough for your well being? Child bearing has everything to do with how prosperous a country is. Do yourself a favour, and enlighten your mind, check where the most poor people are, check their population growth within a 50 year present, check their HDI within that period, and i am no soothsayer but i put my money on you finding the most number of poor people in countries with the "melanin" and who have had their population left on check for years and didn't develop the population they had in the said period. |
OhBritannia:It is not strange because she is actually not married, as she and her partner doesn't even believe in the institution of marriage. I can assure you, she is absolutely fine but doesn't see the need to bring a child into the world. It is only in 3rd world hell holes like this that, "Marriage and Child bearing" is seen as a "crown of one's life achievement" and it is a huge problem. In saner climes, people are advised to even consider child bearing only if it is absolutely necessary because it affects the society. Poland and Japan for example have kept their population in an exact range for years and look how better these countries are faring because fewer people are using abundant resources, so their is enough to go round. China also had a population explosion some years back, they kept it in check with some serious measures and look how good they are faring. In contrast, Nigeria's uncontrolled population explosion is one of the main reason the country is in taters and may implode few years from now, if left unchecked. Our official population is put at 200million and UN is projecting, it is going to double in the next 25 years if not controlled. Let me take electricity for example, our total power generation has not increased by more than 10000MW since independence. So lets assume we had 5000MW in 1980 and our population was 100million then and the power wasn't even enough, then fast forward till now, when the population is 200million and the power generation is still hypothetically 5000MW, meaning more people depend on the power now, that was not even enough when the population was 100m in 1980. Please read this analogy well and understand what i am saying. Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world mainly because of the population because the ratio of the poor to rich is 85:15, meaning 85% of the population is in abject poverty and living under a dollar per day with one of the lowest Human Development index in the world, there are more improvsihed children with no education, whom sleep hungry on most days, here than anywhere else in the world, so of what need will it be to bring a child into the world to face this kind of uncertain future? No nation can progress in this manner and if nothing is done to stop it and the population is allowed to reach 500million by 2050, the country might actually basically just cease to exist. |
abduleez1:lmaoo saw it a while back. I knew, the A24, the people's filmmakers that doesn't care about money gimmick wasn't going to last 😩. They will cook a very fine movie and make like 30k dolls on it but with Oscar shout tho and in the same world, they are seeing bare a$s pop corn flicks like"Captain Marvel" with near zero replay value and no chance in hell of an oscar norm, let alone winning, grossing over a 1bn dolls. This model was likely going to get them bankrupt and sadly we live in a very capitalist society and no matter what some air heads will tell you, You actually need money and very plenty of it to survive 😭. So it is long overdue, i just pray the deep in quality isn't much as they try to chase the bag 💰 |
[quote author=abduleez1 post=126940360] I still see Killers of The Flower Moon hype every two days if not everyday when I stay long enough on Twitter. Why you feel the hype has died down is most likely cos of its tame box office performance. That's what battered fans down. And there's always the MCU type of fans who are more than ready to put it down because of its BO.Really?? I didn't see the hype past 2 weeks of it's release, and i am fully immersed in film twitter. I definitely saw one or 2 complaints about it been too overbloated and felt "too drawn out", and i tend to believe it because "The Irishman" was like that with that ridiculous runtime. Well i guess, we will have to find out and i have seen enough movies to know a mad cast doesn't necessarily translate to final on screen quality but i have high hopes for this still and we just have to wait to find out. Oppenheimer is very much in the chat cos it was and is a financial and critical success and the Barbenheimmer mania ensures it would be pushed all through the awards season judging by how "organic" the chatter has been.I had no doubt my man Christopher Nolan cooked with Oppenhemier cuz he is one of the few directors that stay outside of this "bubble" of experimenting with genres too much, he knows his niche and just sticks to it plus he carefully chooses his project so the chances for a miss are almost near zero. Only "Tenet" seemed like a "L" to the general populace, in his filmography but not me tho, an absolute top tier flick that. Still, even with all this I believe the story WILL change soon by November when we might have access to most of the awards contenders. This year's lineup is pretty strong but the thing is everyone all left out the best movies for last. The studios are to be blamed for this one. All the top tier Oscar films was picked out for October to December release.Out of the list you mentioned and the said anticipated flicks coming out this last days of the year, Only Anatomy of a Fall and Napoleon are the ones i am holding out hope for tbh. Shame France opted not to push Anatomy of a fall for Oscar, so the chances of that are slime considering it is a foreign language film. Yorgos Lanthimos has burnt me enough times not to expect too much from "Poor things", I am genuinely tired of a racial themed flick at this point so i may skip Rustin plus the only reason it is getting buzz because the character is an lgtv folk. Finally Saltburn looks like those erotic euphoria esque flicks we have seen before with maybe a little twist, i genuinely didn't see anything jaw dropping in the trailer. |
abduleez1:Hmmmm, the takes on this movie are so interesting, somewhat "inorganic" if i should term it properly. On X (formerly known as Twitter), David Fincher's colleagues are praising the movie to the high heavens and some going far as calling it, "his magnum opus" and yet i keep seeing takes like yours from none industry heads saying it was average at best. My best inclination is that those industry heads are probably lying or over rating the flick just to do right by one of thier own. I don't think i have seen a rating above average on the thread here, and i most likely think that's the true reflection of it, though i am yet to see it. David Fincher is an absolute legend but he was probably due a miss, so fairs but it continues to retritiate the notion i have had for a while that art as it pertains to movies, series and even music is a "dying breed" and I'm sorry, these 3 art forms may never hit the heights of yester years. I was comparing movies and songs from 00-10 and 16' to present some months back, i was so shocked at the obvious deep in quality. Back then you could see like 10 potential oscar best picture property in like the first half of the year, compared to now, because let's be serious, and i say this with love because i really like , but in a "proper movie year", Barbie shouldn't be anywhere near a "Oscar best shout". A "good" movie on a "good day" but totally blown out of proportion by the insane marketing gimmick mainly because of outside forces wanting to make bank with the hysteria. Worse still, It is now a norm not to expect "magic" from film makers you reverred, because "The killers of the Flower Moon", hype died in like a week, and i have genuinely not heard anything about it in weeks, the hype of the build up was greater than the hype of the release itself and with "The Killer" going astray like this according to you lot, then we might have a serious problem!, because this 2 were supposed to be among the "absolute best" this year. Martin Scorsese and David Fincher having project out in the same year would have been on paper, an avid cinephile wet dream, but it doesn't seem like it. It is only going to get worse, because these actual old heads we trust to deliver on good movies, because they have had a rich history of cinema and the world around to draw inspiration from, are actually about to phase out and the number of projects they release will drastically reduced, so new heads filmmakers who are in thier late 20's and thirties are entering the scene now, Emma Seligman who made "Bottoms" is only 28! meaning her inspiration is from a "pre and post covid woke world, where you have to please everyone even if it goes against your personal believes" meaning more idealistic woke BS movies on the horizon. that looks like she's on top of the female filmmakers food chain now, only just turned 40 this year lool! I hold movies to a certain standard and I can't genuinely name 10 really good movies from this year that i would say were really good or measured up to that standard and we are in freaking November!!. I don't buy the talk that the strike affected the industry cuz lets be sincere and serious, only DUNE 2 was the only potential really serious movie on paper that the strike affected, if we are looking at things holistically. Movies used to be my perfect gateway but these days i could go days without seeing a flick and i wouldn't flinch, because each time i find the time to see one, it seems like a chore already, playing russian roulette to see the one that will suck less, even the indie "A24" esque ones that you would trust to deliver don dey get K leg. The really good movies i saw this year were from way way back and that says alot. I can vouch confidently for music, movies and series and thier undeniably decaying quality but i can't say same for other media forms tho since they aren't my forte because it seems my anime guys here are still eating good on a steady. Well, I coped "The Killer" and Oppenheimer, before i left for a trip but unfortunately for me, i took only the work laptop 😩 and left the entertainment PC at home, thinking i would need to be settled in the comfort of my home to enjoy these 2 on the best platform but e be like say with reviews like this, na to watch this "The Killer" now and get it over with, because" it is the hope that kills" 😒 |
WriterNig:8/10!! Easily one of the best slapstick comedy comfy flick in recent times. |
abduleez1:Okay. Thanks for the insight man. |
abduleez1:Is it not WB that serves as the distribution arm of all DC releases and doesn't James Gunn answers to WB as the parent company? |
Palehair:That's why i put the caveat of "probably" so you should know it's subjective. |
Baddestguyp:Maann. It might be one of Nickelodeon's best animation in history. The story and character development arc was so top notch. It didn't drag longer than required, inside 61 episodes, they gave us total magic. The movie adaptation was always going to have a hard time replicating it, and maan, they didn't even make any sensible attempt at all. A very very poor adaptation, probably M. Night Shyamalan only L. It was so bad that they had a sequel planned but they had to eventually cancel it... terrible terrible flick. |
Baddestguyp: Kaycee7:Thanks guys. Make i prep am for next year insha'Allah 🙏🏿 |
phr0nesis:I am talking about the actual anime itself and not the Netflix Adaptation. |
Kaycee7:lmaooooo where i wan start from? 😂😂😂😂...Na to take 1 year vacation like this 😭 |
Kaycee7:One Piece has a 1000+ episodes right? 🤔 |
abduleez1:Maaan...It just clocked that it might even be a blessing in disguise because i actually have months of content to chew through already 😭😭. For E.G i downloaded Invincible S2S1 last week and i promised myself i was gonna see it, before i blink, i didn't see it, and now it's another Friday and Ep 2 is out.... everything choke i swear 😩😩 |
abduleez1:I don't know why, this feels so "midjourney" to me 😃. I probably have residual burnt effect from how bad the last adaptation was. So many things have to go right for this to bang. |
abduleez1:November 2024 fa? That's is one year away? Netflix are so unserious. Having such a huge time lapse for one your biggest title is never a good mix. |
Baddestguyp:First off. It is 100% about AOT because that's the subject matter here. Secondly, it is not wrong for you to ask him to drop his reasons for his opinion but on the other hand he owes you no explanation or reasons why he holds that exact view on AOT, more likely so, because of how emotional and unhinged you get when it comes to AOT. I am thinking out loud here, if he had said that about another show, you probably wouldn't have bat an eyelid. Final case in point: Trying to make sense of everything will lead you nowhere, because not everything will make sense or sound logical...just let it go. |
Baddestguyp:There is no "defence" or contrary opinion that he would tell you that will make you think otherwise, for a show that you have clearly shown 100% favouritism bias overtime, Your time on here is, 98% you praising AOT, I don't want to say 100% not to sound over the top. Your truth and his truth can exist. AOT is the best show in history to you (valid), Mikasa is the only good thing about AOT (valid too in his own context.). |
Baddestguyp:BB is probably the worst analogy to use in this scenario because quite a number of people found BB, "boring" and didn't care for the carefully written character development, and they had very valid reasons too, might not be a popular take, but it is still a take. That's why art continues to be a subjective phenomenon, and him saying "Mikasa" is the only thing he liked in AOT is valid and if you press him further, he might give you reasons. You are so objective in your stance, because perhaps you like AOT a little too much. |
abduleez1:lmaooo. You posting this now, just made me realize i actually have S1 since and i have not touched it 😩😩😩. This freaking year mannn....i don tire 😞 |
abduleez1:They tried to use Thanos rizz for clout in the last trailer but it looks like it failed spectacularly 👀👀. Severe superhero genre fatigue currently plus MCU is currently toast, so the odds were severely stacked against this one. It will tank like a mf! 😩😩 |
xtreme11:The show has a thousand plus episodes, your best chance of seeing it, is YouTube. |
Baddestguyp:The shot is similar to a shot from the Schindler's list movie, especially with the red tint on a black and white background. see the pic it mostly likely referenced below. And you should totally see "The Schindler's List"!
|
Schindler's List reference? 🤔 🌱🔴
|
Runsboi:Errrrmmm. Probably because GCAM is literally Google's proprietary camera app 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ |
Kaycee7:i have just seen it now. 👍 |
Baddestguyp:Just be patient. PSA and Animepahe will have decent 1080p versions too. E no go pass today, you go see the ending...calma calma Edit: The PSA 1080p print https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bB3KhXBAZpOggjmxhJCv5JJtDWD9q8Qc/view?usp=drivesdk |
