Even if Jesus brings Buhuari's certificate, children of hatred will still doubt it and say it's fake.

greggng:
Buhari never said he submitted his document to the army ...but he said they army is with my document cos the ransacked his house after the coup and took all his documents inclusive his certificate. He assumed the military during babangida has it since they took all his document and certificate.. during Jonathan ...they politicised the issue and a certain military man came out to deny that they don't have the document. This denial didn't last long cos they retracted that statement and now claimed they have his document. ...this is the dangerous part of politics...whether we like it or not it is now an established truth that buharis certificate got loss as a result of military action in his house. Babangida administration has not denied this fact. Mr buhari has approached the examination board to do the needful. .waec has now confirmed he has the said certificate by issuing attestation inline with the law

There are thousands of Nigerians whose certificates were stolen with other properties, burnt during fire accident or were lost in one way or another.

I am one of such.

You claimed that he doesn't have certificate and yet he graduated from one of America best military universities with a Master in Strategy Studies. I wonder which certificate America university take give am admission. Some people just mumu for nothing.

I am surprised that Nigerian Youth are like this.

What the Buhari Legal team presented was a certified true copy (CTC) of the results sheets of all candidates in that school who wrote the WAEC/Cambridge exam in that year and Buhari's name with the results he obtained were there.

jrusky:
But why do Buhari advisers behaving these way? They should have let this be on this certificate issue as the issue as died down.

Buhari claimed his Cert are in Millitary possession, the millitary denied possessing it so where did he get his early education cert from?

These will open more questions again they should have let the sleeping dog lay quietly.

Mr Man, read the story again.

What was tendered wasn't Buhari's personal results but a sheet containing the results of all the students who wrote the exam in that school for that year issued by Cambridge University and Buhari's name including the results he obtained were there.

Iamklade:
Lol...it is you who should be asked that question because if he's presenting the certified true copy(CTC) of the result he's always claimed were with the military then where did the CTC of his result emanate from?

He is correct, High Chief Agbo Obaseki, the Great-grandfather of the Governor came from an Anioma village to live in the Capital city of Bini and rose through the ranks to become a Chief just like Abba Kyari from a Kanuri village relocated to Abuja and was appointed Chief of Staff to the President.

Culture › Re: Oba Of Benin, Ewuare, Visits Olu Of Warri (Photos) by oyatz(m):
Not exactly correct.

In the olden days, Obas didn't leave their territories and go to foreign/unknown or hostile lands.

Some Obas were also warriors, they led their Armies into battles e.g Oba Esigie and Oba Ewuare the Great led Armies of Bini to battles. Ewuare installed his sons as local Kings in some of the towns conquered (including Ido-Ani in Ondo State)

Alaafin Oluewu fought courageously and died on the battle field.

Some Obas also made diplomatic and States visits to friendly fellow monarchs e.g the Historic pilgrimage of Owa Atakumosa of Ijeshaland to the Oba of Bini in the 18th Century, stopping over and being hosted by several towns in between Ilesha and Bini ,to which monuments were erected to commemorate this historic journey in these towns.

When it's North Vs South Political contests, they may align with the the Hausa-Fulani but within the North Vs North context, they emphasize the differences.

Pure breed Fulanis are actually a minority (less than in Ijaws) in Nigeria. Most Nigerian Fulanis are mixed with Hausa , Yorubas (in Ilorin) and several small tribes.

You can only get undiluted Pure breed Fulanis possibly in Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba where cultural assimilation fail to take place because the surrounding indigenous tribes failed to embrace Islam en mass in the 19th century Jihad.

You are making another wrong assumptions.

In Lagos, anybody after Benin is wrongly labelled 'Igbo'. Does that mean Efik, Ijaw, Ishan or Ogonis wish to be seen as Igbos?

In the build-up to the 2011, I sampled opinions of my co-workers in Yobe State. To my greatest surprise most of them, including University educated ones wrongly assumed that President Goodluck Jonathan is an Igboman!
Ihad to explain to many that Jonathan is an Ijawman and Ijaws are NOT Igbos.

Sometimes, the Fulanis are themselves victims of discrimations. For instance, it will be very difficult for a Fulani to win Governorship elections in Yobe, Borno or Nasarawa States.

Despite the overwhelming popularity of Buhari/APC in the core North during the 2015 elections, the APC lost Yobe State senatorial district partly because they presented a minority Fulani (Alkali Jajere) as their candidate.

Buckubuck:
It's not any people. It's how they want to be seen. Except you've not lived among them. Nobody doubts the diversity of the north. But most Muslims in the north identify with the hausa-Fulani label more than their original tribes. That Islam is a unifying factor is true. Moreso that they've all adopted hausa as the northern lingua franca
Politics › Re: We Are Shi'ite But Not Members Of IMN, RAAF Tells Presidency by oyatz(m): 3:22pm On Jul 30, 2019
Dr Ahmed Lawan Ph.D (APC, Yobe North) is from Gashua Town and belong to the Baade Tribe NOT FULANI or KareKare.

KareKare are in Fune, Nangere, Fika, Potiskum and some parts of Bauchi State.

Although Fulani migrants can be found in all these LGAs but their 'kingdoms' are mainly in Mashio, Kolelere, Ngelzarma and Jajere, all in Fune LGA. However because the Fulanis aren't aboriginals in these places, the original Headquarters of the LGA who moved from Ngelzarma ( controlled by the Fulanis) to Damagum (controlled by Mangawas, a subset of the Kanuris) in 1976.
The Fulanis are sometimes victims of discrimations in Yobe State.

Marotzke:
you got a lot of things right.
But Ahmed Lawan Potiskum?
From my reckoning Potiskum is Yobe south, but lawan is representing Yobe North.
He took over from Al Bishir right ?
Means he is from Gashua Nguru axis.
A whole lot of Fulani are from there.
Though his body mass and complexion is not that of a Fulani, but he is not karekare.
Kanuri?
Which local govt?

You are right the Itshekiri Royalty is Bini in Origin but the ordinary people (Masses) is largely Yoruba in Origin and their language is Yoruboid.
I know the meanings of most Itshekiri names without learning their language.

Yorubas from Ijebu, Some parts of Ijesha, Ekiti ,Ile-Oluji, Odigbo, Ilaje, Ese-Odo speak dialects that are partially mutually intelligible with the Itshekiri language.

Although they may have Bini meanings but Ologbosere and Okunkipka are Yoruboid words too.

It's you people that make up such assumptions in your mind.

The North is far more diversified than Southern Nigeria.
The numbers of tribes in 3 States in the North is more than the numbers of tribes in SW, SS and SE.
However, the Religion of Islam has become a unifying factor and the new foremost Identity.

Culture › Re: Igbos That Cannot Speak Igbo Language by oyatz(m): 7:03am On Jul 30, 2019
Blame colonialism and neo-colonial mentality for this.

Even now, many Yoruba parents living and raising their kids in Yorubaland prefer to speak English to their children!

We in Southern Nigeria over rate English language as a measure of 'Success and enlightment'

In the North, Hausa-Fulani parents, even if they attended Imperial College, Cambridge or Harvard Universities will speak Hausa to their kids.

princeonx:
@ghettochyke and naija_diva:

You two are fooling yourself and I hope you don't mislead others in the poster's position.

Like I said before and I'm glad you're hearing it from other people too including someone born in London with mix parents! it's not an excuse not to understand your language (Igbo) because you were born in Lagos. People from Asia, middle east, South America, other parts of Africa give birth and raise their kids in all part of the world yet they speak/understand their native language. But for we Nigerians especially IGBOs will always find one excuse or the other why we don't understand our language!

Like Romeo said/ask who will teach the next Igbo generation the language if all of you keep giving one stupid reason or the other for not understanding?

Do you think an American, a Briton, or an Indian/asian  born in Nigeria will learn Igbo, yoruba, or hausa and leave their own native language be it English, Chinesse, or whatever? you think they'll leave that? I don't think so!

The poster admit he understand/speak yoruba, how do you explain that? he already know deep inside him that he is Igbo and need to understand that language.

@poster: you're doing very good at 70% just dey tear the thing as you fit! trust me you go get am well after all you no learn yoruba for one day and you didn't just perfectly start speaking yoruba so move on!

@naija_diva: follow follow no good! make your point and speak your own mind stops bouncing from one angle to the other.
One minute you jumped on me the next minute you said if he's parents are Igbos! no na Hausa them be! (I wonder what the f**k we were saying all this time) if his parents are igbos my yasss.

Bottom line:
where you're born (with igbo parents) is not an excuse or a reason for not speaking igbo! ask African/Americans how they feel for not knowing anything about their Origin, their culture, or language! sure you know what that mean.

So Igbos (parents Oh, brothers Oh, sisters Oh, friends Oh whatever we need/have to extend our culture and language to our kids and generation regardless of where we're born, raised, or live! PERIOD.

Stop misinforming the readers on Nairaland, only Buhari is Fulani (he is actually 50%Fulani, 25%Hausa and 25%Kanuri).

Lawan is Baade by tribe (From Gashua, Yobe State).

CJN is Kare-Kare (From Azare, Bauchi State)

Burutai is from a Minority tribe (most likely Barburi) from Borno State.

You people label every Muslim Northerner Fulani (Fulani themselves are a minority tribe in Nigeria) or Hausa Fulani.

One thing you fail to factor into the permutations is...Change!
Anything about Nigeria is not cast in Iron or rock and it's subjected to CHANGE.

1) In the 1980s, nobody thought it was possible for a Southern candidate to defeat a Northern candidate

2) Before 2013, nobody thought that merger of Political parties is possible in Nigeria.

3) Before 2015, nobody thought that an incumbent President could be defeated.

#If we continue uninterrupted Democracy for a long time, so many myths will be bursted.
For instance, myths like

An Igboman can't win a Presidential election

The myth that ALL Northerners will only vote a fellow Northern

That you must have a Christian-Muslim or Northern-Southern candidates for a part to win Presidential election wiill be bursted.

wifeesnatcher:
Nigerians are religion fanatics and this reflected in their political engagements in this modern day perhaps because of Islamic extremist groups the Christians feel so insecure and the Muslim don't want to loose their dominance. in fact politics and religion in Nigeria won't be easy to be separated

having said this, North will not allow Christian to represent them as VP which means APC will be running on Muslim Muslim ticket if Tinubu declare interest. PDP will capitalise on this politically to play a religion card in checkmating APC possible victory
