Yeah, very correct. Igala and Yoruba languages are partially mutually intelligible but this is more true for Yorubas that understand the Ife/Ijesha/Ondo,Ekiti, Akoko and Ikale or Ijebu/Awori dialects very well. Lagos based Yoruba don't have deep understanding of the Yoruba language and may not understand. IgalaSchool: Yes it is Yoruboid, similarity is about let me say 65% I once helped a Naija woman at Heathrow airport in the UK who spoke no English.
She spoke only Yoruba, but I helped her get a few things done based on the conversation I had with her. It was hard, but conversation was achievable.
It was mostly one way though. I could understand her spoken Yoruba, but Yorubas can’t realy understand Igala beyond having a fair Idea of what is being said.
Also, Yorubas who understand their second Yoruba dialects well, understand Igala more than Yorubas who speak just plain general Yoruba
Just my opinion. |

It appears that Igala language is a 'very special' variant of the Yoruba language, produced by exchange of vowels like the vowel 'O' in place of 'U', which itself is common in the IJESHA dialect of the Yoruba language. What makes you think 1) An Igbo man can NOT defeat Buhari in 2019? OR 2) IPOB wouldn't have succeeded in creating Biafra before 2023? Isn't Biafra or death again? igbodefender: Nothing is 100 percent certain in politics, but you have to try. If Buhari is reelected, in 2023, the Igbo would have a bargaining chip that cannot be easily swept off the carpet, in that Igbo would be the only group that has not produced president in 4th Reublic.
Yoruba have produced; Niger Delta have produced; the North would have completed Yar Ardua’s truncated tenure. It would then be difficult not to give it to the Igbo in 2023.
If we don’t play our cards right, by 2040, we may still be talking about Igbo Presidency, without much bargaining chips.
Let Ohaneze, the Youths etc, begin to put our house in order, while voting for Buhari in 2019.

Yes, he was conspiring with tiny Ghana to overthrow the Government of Balewa when he was arrested. Few years after his arrest, a coup led by Nzeogwu and Adewale with the purpose of installing him as PM succeeded in truncating our democracy, but the coup was halted by Ironsi and Ojukwu. The 2 highest ranking Igbo officers. The surviving govt handed power over to Ironsi, who rewarded Ojukwu for helping him stop the calamity with Governor.
In the 1990s, many years after Ojukwu released him, he shameless planned another coup against IBB but was betrayed by Jakande. Fearing the imminent Military Tribunal be committed suicide by drinking poison.

Awolowo only ruled the old Western region (the a southwest ,Edo &Delta State between 1954-1960( during the COLONIAL era, so how can be cause of tribalism in Nigeria. Narrowing the cause of tribalism in Nigeria to only man who only ruled a segment of the country before independence and still accusing him of the same, over 30 years after his death seems very naive and mischievous. Such kind of statements arrogate great powers to Awolowo beyond what he could possibly wield and inadvertently elevate him to the status of superhuman SouthEastFacts: The country was moving smoothly until Awolowo introduced tribalism and hate. Single, young mothers a.k.a after one and most house maids get fvcked anyhow. 1)These days, single mothers that are educated will find it difficult to get serious suitors(husbands are scarce ,even for thoroughly single young ladies). 2) Single mothers are already used to sex.Its difficult to stop once you are already used to regular sex. 3) most single mothers have financial crisis. Most times, they look for men that can cater for them financially but for certain reasons (that are not clear to me), it seems most men don't just give out their money to women for free, they will demand for sex in return. 4) Above all, single mothers and house maids are also women! Thanks bro but The Oshogbo battle actually took place in 1840 between the Fulani caliphate armies led by Emir Shitta and the Ibadan (Yoruba) army led by Bashorun Oluyole /Balogun Ibikunle. It took place in the area between Ota-efun (then a village under Oshogbo) and Inisha town (now in Odo-Otin LGA,Osun State. By this time, the Ibadan army had acquired European weapons from Ijebu arms dealers in Ikorodu who controlled access to the sea while the Fulani caliphate armies still depended on bows & arrows, swords and traditional African Dane guns. The Ibadan army soundly defeated the Fulani Jihadist and pursued them to Offa. Oluyole actually planed to chase the Fulani Jihadists away from Ilorin but lack of consensus among his lieutenants and cooperation from the Ilorin indigenes (who wrongly interpreted the jihardist military campaigns as wars between the Muslims of Ilorin against their Pagan neighbours) stalled the implementation of this plan through military invasion of Ilorin. Y0ruba: .
This man must have forgotten the Osogbo war of 1870 & Jalumi war of 1878 in which the Fulani miscreants who thought of themselves as an army were comprehensively defeated and brutally massacred by Ibadan army [just one part of the whole Yoruba army] which stopped their foolish advent into Yoruba lands and put them in the background of the 19th century Yoruba warfare and diplomacy.
This people must have forgotten how Ibadan army went as far as Offa to break the Fulani grip on the town and would have marched on to Ilorin if the ‘Yoruba’ out there who had already found comfort in playing the role of the conquered and 3rd fiddle to the Fulani and Hausa requested for the help.
They will think Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ekiti armies of earlier centuries have changed until they trigger their descendants and willing Yoruba spread across the region to take up arms against them.
If they rely on importing their uncivilizaed band from across West Africa, Yoruba will readily open the border to Yoruba in Republic of Benin, Togo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Cuba and the Caribbeans. |

Most IPOBians don't understand the demographics and politics of the core North very well. Most indigenes of the Northwestern Nigeria are hybrids resulting from centuries of intertribal marriages and cultural assimilation/integration,specially fostered by the Islamic religion. JikanBaura: How does an individual quarrels become Hausa, Fulani tribal conflict and of all Nigeria you find nowhere to report hausa conflicts with Fulani but Sokoko isn't this Helarious.
A suger cane selling man from Sokoto ( A Hausa-Fulani State) got stab by a fellow state indigine (a Fulani man ) , in middle of market.
Then what happened?
Then the Fulani was instantly killed by gang of Hausa boys for revenge. Suddenly an ethnic war break Fulani are killing hausa in sOkoto
As a Hausa What shall i do to revenged, I guess is to killed every Fulani man I came acrossed but I'm worried My Fulani Mother and sisters, Maternal grandmother will not get killed by bunch of Hausa if they went out This is what a Fulani or Hausa will think
Deception at it highest level the media is giving southern Nigeria exactly the king of news they want to here,
How can their be tribal conflicts between hausa and fulani in Nigeria , When every family is made up of Hausa Fulani. Some folks thought is biafra radio doing or they will succeed in putting Hausa against Fulani when the British have tried and failed miserably
Individual conflicts has exist between Hausa and Fulani but tribal conflict between Hausa and Fulani never exist , The Britsh tried and failed no Ogbotic idiot can made that happen. Because our intertwine history does not start after Nigeria but Start before British dreamed of finding Africa.
Conflicts between farmers and herders were never treated or judge as Fulani and Hausa conflicts but as fadan makiyaya da Manoman (Herders and Farmers)
Why?
BECAUSE:
1. Tho all Herdsmen are Fulani not all farmers are Hausa but Hausa-Fulani.
2. Hausa and Fulani Families and Relations are made up of Hausa and Fulani, Marrying out of these two tribes by their members was considered as (abinkunya) Shame act.
3. Socially, Culturally, Traditionally ,Lingustically, Politically Hausa and Fulani of Nigeria are one people and ipob and other haters are just wasting their time, money and efforts.
The above reasons made tribal conflict impossible. But individuals conflicts occurred. |

Okay, we have heard and agreed with you. Are you now happy? IkpuMmadu: .
"Nigeria’s problem began many years ago after the late Nnamdi Azikiwe scored a fantastic victory in the Western House as a member of the House and his party was to form the government. But Awolowo, who brought federalism as a form of governance reverted to tribal politics when Azikiwe defeated him in the election. Awolowo felt, as the strongman of the Yoruba, Azikiwe should not have won the election in his place, and he could not countenance an Igbo man coming to be the premier or the first minister or prime minister of a predominantly Yoruba place. Night came, and when day broke, Zik discovered his majority had collapsed.
The Yoruba abandoned him and went to a strange person they did not know ideologically, that is Awolowo, on the basis of tribe. So, Zik was forced to rethink as an intelligent person, to relocate. He went back to his own part of the country to become the first Premier of Eastern Region. Some of us sprang up too, in going with Awolowo’s federalism, that the notion that there are only three tribes or sections in the country was so fundamentally defective that we called on the metropolitan power, Britain, to correct this before they would leave. So, we in the Middle Belt of Nigeria came together and decided that we would call ourselves ‘people in the middle’ and that we were not Hausa, we were not Fulani. At that time, we told Britain, Nigeria had over 250 tribes but that we could not dissect Nigeria into 250 nations
