Politics › Re: Ikwerre - Igbo - 22 MISINFORMATION ON IGBOS by oyatz(m): 2:12pm On Jul 26, 2017
This arrant display of a dangerous blend of ignorance and arrogance.
As a neutral observer in this debate, the ways some Igbo irredentists become seriously embittered whenever Ikwerres say they are not Igbo never cease to amaze me

1) All over the world ,they examples of closely related languages with similarities in pronunciations and spelling of words but this does not mean one language is a corrupted form of another .

For example: Hopital (French)= hospital ( English)

Wilhelm (German)= William (English)
Oma (Itsekiris)= Oma (Igala)= Omo (Yoruba)
Orisha (Yoruba)= Oritshe (Itsekiri)

2) similarities of Ikwerre and Igbo languages/culture mean the two groups are related, it does NOT say one descend from another and who said the relationship can only mean Ikwerre descended from Igbo and not Igbo descended from Ikwerre?

3) You don't have copyright on any language or names, the person bearing any name owns that name.
If a Bini/Edo man is bearing Tayo, it is a Bini name, but if the bearer is Yoruba its a Yoruba name!
The are thousands of peoples bearing names like Ayo ,Lola, Akin/Aken, Taiwo &Kehinde, Segun, Kola etc that are ethnic Yoruba, Edo, Itsekiri etc.

4) Every body can see that Ikwerres are related to Igbo but are also related to Ijaws, so if they they say, they aren't Igbo, let's respect their choice.
It doesn't mean they have become enemies of Igbo's because of that, neither does this call for insulting or causing them.

Igboid:
My anger is that you dropped your Bini language, culture, and names, and took up our beautiful Igbo language and culture and names, corrupted and disfigured them to produce the abomination and impurity you now call Ikwerre language, culture and names.

My anger is that you are language, culture and name thieves. My anger is that you are a shameless people that will claim Igbo using our Language names and culture you stole as a basis, when it is convenient and deny the same when it's not convenient.

My anger is that all Ndiigbo had ever showed you Bini vagabonds the moment you arrived to our area from the Bini empire where yoh were probably casted away was love, yet all over the internet and in PH, all you people have for us is hatred and silly baseless accusations of things that we never did.

My anger with you Bini people are too numerous to outline.
The shameless nature of your people disgusts me.
Politics › Re: Port Harcourt Is Not Part Of Igbo Land. by oyatz(m): 10:40am On Jul 26, 2017
Lagos has been inexistence for about 700 years and has been a maritime hub for at least 500years while Kano (Old name Dala) have been in existence for about a thousand years with records of diplomatic, economic and political relationships with the Ottoman, Songhai and Mali empires at a time nobody in the outside world knows your 'cities' ... Correct yourself, these are NOT newly developed city States.

hammer6:
Anybody fighting igbo is not ready to face the problem that is facing them and a coward and time waster, that will never achieve anything.

Igbo came together and supported GEJ knowing fully well that due to his weak leadership and sheepish approach he was not going to win. We supported him anyway.

If GEJ was Urhobo or Bini or Ibibio or Efik we do the same for them. That is the spirit.

Until the southern minority accept the invitation and join igbo on the round table of brotherhood, we together will continue to be victimised in this fraudulent entity called Nigeria.

There was once a time, the South could boast of at least(minimum) of 4 City States namely, Nembe, Bonny/Opobo, Okirika(Eclipsed by Port Harcourt now), Calabar.

Today, we rather argue over land, whilst we all migrate to newly established City States called Lagos, Abuja and Kano.

Wat a shame, how did it get so bad without hope of recovery/redemption? smh! undecided
Politics › Re: Port Harcourt Is Not Part Of Igbo Land. by oyatz(m): 10:30am On Jul 26, 2017
Which Igbo oil?

hammer6:
As it stands today in NIGERIA, the South West have Lagos as a commercial hub. Trade flows from Lagos to Ogun and other nearby state.
Abuja is their for the North. They have also developed Kaduna and Kano very well.

Now all this development is with Igbo, Ijaw, Ibibio, Urhobo, Itsekiri oil money.

We should all be coming together with a plan to establish wat is known as Economic zone, like Lagos.

Historians really need to carry out great researches on the legendary Afonja whether he led wars into the Igbo territories, killing some many Igbos 200years ago, who have now reincarnated as IPOB youths of today.

The way they loathe him as display on Nairaland daily is incredible.

Sanchez01:
I once mentioned that you guys have been remotely accessed into believing that those who have contrary views from yours regardless of where they are from are nothing but Afonja. Sadly, it says a whole lot about your reasoning. If Afonja killed you in your former life, I believe it won't be hard to figure. Amberon is an Urhobo lady. There is only a class of people I know who fill themselves with bile and hate, and that is some of the separatist Igbos. A whole lot is wrong, if you ask me.

All the Benue indigenes kicking against alleged annexation of their State to Biafra by Nnamdi KANU and IPOB are NOT Yoruba people.

Its Benue indigenes Vs IPOB, nothing concern Yoruba, fight it with them and stop shouting Yoruba upandan.

sankky:
I had expected to see a video evidence
While I lean more towards restructuring for now, its so nauseating seeing the amount of pains, torture and suffering that Yorubas and a few other regions subject themselves thru just to beg Igbos to stay with them in Nigeria. When such fails, they resort to cooking up warped stories of what an Igbo person said just to denigrate the said tribe. I was hoping to see the video of N.K saying such but, as usual, its a jaundiced beer parlor talk.
Four Igbo states have oil. The fifth has a mountain of untapped Coal. For Sea-port, Abia and Oguta have such access. why dont people cry and have nightmares about the anguish going on in their own regions instead of gnashing their teeth and spending sleepless nights cooking infantile stories just to beg Igbos not to go? There is no way anyone would force any part of Nigeria to follow his tribe. Its as stupid as the peddler of such cock and bull story. The decision to join any movement is by choice and not by force.
next time show videos please. I know most commenters here are below average in IQ and wont critique crappy stories like this.
Like I said before, restructuring for now is more preferable to me.

Relax bros, we all lost dear ones in that unfortunate phase of our National history, accept my sincere condolence.

Wars by nature are bad events in human history. However, the past , no matter how great or bad it may seems must belong to where it ought to, the past in order to move forward. This is the lesson many of our Igbo brothers have learned and embraced.

I have personally met several Igbo people ( I can't count the number, since we always have igbos in our house since I was born), some did bad (like every other people) but many are wonderful, had intimate relationship with few and one was particularly outstanding that we once planned spending the rest of our lives together. It didn't work as planned but that didn't erase the cherished memory we have of each other( may God bless Amarachi), none of them is as bitter as you seems.
They don't even talk about the civil war in our discussions, let alone nurse a 'revenge war' on the Yorubas.

Sir, i will strongly advise that you accept Jesus Christ into your life as your personal lord and saviour, allow the Holy spirit to possess your heart and heal all forms of bitterness, take time to relax, drink big stout/ Orijin and Isi-ewu at least once every weekend, play Nairabet if you have the annoiting or go to Silver bird gelleria if you can ,spend less time on Nairaland, stop listening to Radio Biafra, you will thank me later.

As per ,the Oduduwa- Biafran 'revenge genocide', kole werk sir.

NONE of the names/person I mentioned is Hausa and only one was hausanized Fulani.
1) You keep shouting Hausa ,Hausa ,Hausa without even knowing who are the hausas.

2) In Nigeria of today, Hausa is more of a language group than a tribal group.

3) To you, every body that's not Igbo or Yoruba must be Hausa..what a level of ignorance!

4) For most humans, its very easy to assume that our problems are caused by the other peoples (our spouse, partners, step mothers, rivals/ enemies, witches/wizards , Awolowo, Afonja, Ndi Ofe-mmanu, Fulani, yorubastard etc), we love to blame every other person except ourselves.

Neither the Hausa, Fulani nor Yoruba is the cause of your problems...even if your are given Biafra today, contrary to the pictures of El dorado, you envisage, there will still be problems

Nwakaumu:
With the names you listed here,is not obvious to you that the so called nigeria were hausa-fulani and their yoruba slave?.

Chief of Staff: Admiral Wey(Not Hausa)
Chief of Army staff: David Ejoor ((Not Hausa)
Gen Officer, 1 division Nigerian army: Col Muhammadu Shuwa (Not Hausa)
GOC, 3 rd Marine commando : Col Benjamin Adekunle(Not Hausa)
Commander, motorized brigade: Col Murtalar Muhammed (Not Hausa) ...

The Biafrans can bring their list.

Stop misleading young Nigerians.

The civil war was a Nigeria Vs Biafra war, it was NOT an Intertribal war between Hausa and Igbos with Yorubas siding with the former as many mischievous commentators on NL try to portray it.

Nwakaumu:
Thank god you ve accepted that yoruba joined hausa to kill igbo.but how can ojukwu stay in his region when you allowed and harbored hausa soldiers to use lagos to launch attack on igbos,do you know anything about warfare.ojukwu never went to attack yoruba otherwise a yoruba man banjo would not ve appointed to lead the attack, ojukwu's plan was to incapacitate the nigeria's command and control headquater, lagos.stop twisting history to suit your purpose of propogating falsehood ,the ignoble role yoruba played in commiting genocide against the igbos shall never be forgiven

God bless you sir.
1) IPOB need political power to effect political changes.

2) However, this move can be a double edged sword. It can be IPOB's strength and undoing.

3) If IPOB managed to get her members elected as governors, senators, reps etc, within 2 years, they will lose their Goodwill and popularity and the reason is simple.

4) Defenders of the masses, Freedom fighters, revolutionaries are loved and have enormous goodwill but these do not conferred on them administrative skills and experience in governance...

5) In the face of dwindling resources 'IPOB governors' will also face the problems of paying months of salaries and pensions arrears, road, markets and hospital construction etc...without a magic wand

IPOB should form a political party and drive the agenda of Biafra through the legislature....

Now you are talking.
1) IPOB alone can't amend the constitution to accommodate referendum and a secession clause.
2) To achieve their aim, IPOB will need strategic alliances with at 4 geopolitical zones akin to the requirements for winning a presidential election.

3) IPOB has abused and insulted every other ethnic groups, labelling them cowards, parasites, betrayers, traitors, saboteurs, lazy, bastards etc.
It will be difficult to secure their cooperation and support towards the attainment of these goals.
