ChappyChase:First bank, the most fraudulent bank currently in nigeria, puts in their display board that they buy dollar at N316 and sell at N320. I went ahead to use their online banking to make payment online, they charged me N447.45/1$. This is a fraud at its peak! As if that's not enough, they initially sold hard token to me for over N3000, after using their mastercard card for two months they disconnected it, asking me to come and buy another token (soft token and security code) to ensure uninterrupted payment online. Meanwhile, I only used their hard token once when I was activating it. Since then, none of the online shops I buy things from ever asked me to input a token code while make a payment, contrary to what first bank told me of the need to buy their token. This bank is terribly messed up, their workers behave as if they are running a profiteering cartel. They are only hinging on their past glory and the fact that they are closer to local people than other banks |
Stelvin101:In fact, this is a day-light robbery! So I'll now be making dollars for politicians where my banker can only pay me through naira where in fact they have received the payment in dollar, whereas they can pay politicians in dollars they haven't worked for. This is a grave injustice, I don't know why we haven't heard public outcry on this yet, maybe because there are not many Nigerians in internet business. I just heard Payoneer has stopped Nigerians from withdrawing their funds into nigerian banks, maybe this is one of the reasons, they want to stop in-flow of dollars into nigerian banks |
Stelvin101:This particular comment prompted me to respond. So you mean banks are now playing favoritism on receiver's account for foreign currency? If I've money in my dollar-denominated dom account, I cannot request for a withdrawal in hard currency anymore? |

I don't know how Nairanland's 'Follow' works, I would have followed this topic instead. Nice tips! |
Their shitty website is just a complete turnoff. Nigerian government can do better than this, ha ba ![]() My blog even looks more professional |
Nice one, does that mean a subscription of one month can now extend to 2 or further? |
Nice, but I think some of these categories are interwoven |
Thanks for this insightful post, OP |
sisisioge:I am not even referring to that one, coz that's own personal vendetta with a single person. But when I peruse through most comments on this thread, I see everyone is just tagging him loud mouthed, hence, my comment. Though he said some things that will make you think he fancies being on the news always. But most of the things he said are the truths, that many of his caliber would shy away from. And I think that is being laid bare here. |
This just goes to show that Nigerians are allergic to truth. Never speak up for the voiceless if you want to last long in this country. People saying this guy is loud mouthed, but everything he has been saying is the truth. Is it when no one was ready to help the 5.0 GPA guy, that he took it upon himself to put pressure on relevant authorities to come into his assistance, or his jibes on governor thug in Ekiti state make him uncouth personality. He has spoken many times against poverty mentality among Nigerians, one particular instance was when people were ostensibly riveting on seeing a lamborgini car on the street of Lagos, that he spoke against. I have known it for long that most black people's brain are naturally tilted towards negative things. That's why the evil prevails over the good in this continent. You will make more enemies than friends if you're always a truth speaker in this part of the world. Starting from this forum, we can see that negative comments have the most likes on here. A positive and insightful contribution is not what the members here want to promote, but when you curse, tribal-bash, cast aspersions, you will get your likes in tune of hundreds. If people are getting victimized for speaking out their mind, I wonder who will speak when a grave injustice is being perpetrated. |
legalwealth:I've opened this UAE Paypal with Nigerian IP close to two months now, even received a couple of payments into it. But I'm having a feeling it could get limited any time soon. So, I want to know if I changed the IP to UAE using your VPN, if that will make the account safe? |
legalwealth:Please what is the implication of using the US VPN to open UAE PayPal account? And why is your UAE VPN so costly compared to US's? Secondly, If someone has successfully opened a UAE PayPal account with a Nigerian IP, is it possible to change the IP to UAE using your VPN and the account will be safe? |
Americans, they believe it's their birth right to get things at the expense of others. I'll be running a social media website where I'm expecting clients to contact me for business deal, including freelance writing. And americans will contact me saying they like how I write, that I should write a blog post for their product in my site for free, because they have awesome products ![]() Nothing gets further annoying! Imagine! A website that I run and maintain with my own money. Not even I should write (and they pay for my writing service) and publish on my site. But I should write to promote their products in my site for free. These people are very annoying! Because I'm a Nigerian, they expect me to write for them for free, and run to the church the following sunday to do thanksgiving that I was able to write to promote an american product for free, ![]() Very ridiculous people I blame Nigerian government for all these. They have sold this country to the extent that no foreigner has an iota of respect when they hear Nigerians. But instead of the youth to wake up, all I hear is inter-tribal jostle on this forum. |
legalwealth:Thank you for your prompt reply. Please, can you give me examples of these websites? What about web hosting websites like GoDaddy, Hostgator, Namecheap, Bluehost, etc. Do you think the unverified UAE PayPal can work on these sites. The thing is that I want to use my Payoneer card to verify the PayPal, but the card is billed to arrive not less than a month's time. I'm just thinking maybe I can use my PayPal to receive payment and then renew my web hosting pending the arrival of the card. |
legalwealth:My question is: can someone receive payment or buy stuff online with a UAE PayPal account (opened in Nigeria) that has not been connected or verified with any card? And what are the implications for doing that apart from the payment and withdrawal limits? |
So you people are just noticing what I have been hammering on this forum for ever. No single development that's inclusive can come to this country except public offices are completely sanitized. These places are ridden with high-profile sentiment-level corruption that will take a total crackdown or complete overhauling to redress. The level of indiscipline that these people take to their work is also as bad as the corruption. I recently went to an office of a director where she turned official desk (meant to keep files) into a dining table. People are quick to blame the president and governors for any problem, not knowing that the people who constituted major roadblocks to development are right under their nose: public and civil servants. Do you know that no single politician can steal public funds without the help of civil servants? People just keep deceiving themselves in this country saying they want development. |
Piracy has rendered most Nigerian artistes poor. Except those English-speaking Nollywood artistes who can bag endorsement with telecommunication firms and the like, due to Nigerians romance with anything foreign. The fame of these guys is a far cry from their pocket. That's why a little sickness is termed spiritual, instead of seeking better medical service abroad. They too should stop acting superstitions and start giving us reality to reshape thinking of most Nigerians in a civilized world. RIP |
Obama don spoil this little brat. I know he respects and loves women a lot, his policy clearly shows that. But he shouldn't allow his pampering to get to this level with his daughter. Scold a child with one hand and draw her near with another hand. That's how to maintain balance with an impressionable child like this. I remember I saw this same girl in a compromising photo with one guy sticking his tongue out. I won't be surprised if she don dey receive am self ![]() |
Great info. I remember someone was stranded trying to download YouTube video sometimes ago. Sharing this info straight away. Thanks OP! |
Let them carry i-pass-my-neighbor generator to go power the place . Coz that's what most nigerians have resorted to. I haven't seen light in my area for over two months now.The high level of indiscipline among nigerian public and civil servant is horrendous. Most times, the problem with these public establishments is not actually the president or governors, but the caliber of people that runs those places. Their cavalier attitude to work can turn even the White House into a dumping ground in few months. But when an embarrassing situation like this inadvertently happens, they want to direct the blame to the president/governors. Black people still have eons to go in terms of discipline that builds a nation |
I like this news, I knew it would come to this. Those Lagos landlords are mad upstairs. Now, they will be begging people to come and rent their house. If you pay more than a million naira on rent, you're a fool. Why not own the property. I foresee a crash in landed property in not too distant future |
Great tips! Thanks OP! |
prettyRalph:They executed two Australians and one or so citizen of United Kingdom late last year. I watched it live on BBC. The Australia president was all over the place begging them, they still went ahead with the execution. Forget it, if an American is caught, he will be executed and the sky won't fall. That is the law of their land. They said hard drug is the highest killer of their people, and they are fighting to reduce it to the barest minimum. |
I suspect Bola Ige's re-opened case here. Obasanjo's hands are not clean in that man's death. I can still remember the incidence clearly as a secondary school boy then. Let's keep watching... |
EagleNest:I don't care about awkward thinkers like you that dashed you two likes. And by the way, what is my business with oil workers that will now bring envy. I'm talking of doing the real stuff on the ground in the oil exploration and this one is talking about management-based competence. Enough of these paper competence already. We have enough Professors of Economics in this country who know nothing about nation economy, but the economy of pocket. Nigerians keep on cramming and pouring in their universities what has worked for other people in their countries, no minding whether it will work for their own country. How many nigerians in these oil multinationals would Dangote gladly invite to come and do the core engineering work for his refinery. The same people that will do this stuff are the foreign expatriates. Nigerian engineers can only take the side crew and watch their foreign counterpart do the real stuff. Complaining of lack of capital, when we recently had a minister of petroleum resources who was a former top-level worker in one of these oil multinationals. Excuses are the cheapest things in life!!! |
But the real question is, what is the usefulness of these nigerian Baker Hughes staff to other nigerians? What have they learnt in the company that they are bringing to benefit Nigeria? Can they now set up their own company and extract the resources themselves? If all of these are NO answers, then they should get stuffed and face their own problem. All what these Nigerian oil workers care about is to sit under full AC all day and collect their fat pay cheque at the end of the month. Attend jamborees, send their kids abroad, fornicate and oppress other less privilege Nigerians. No creativity on their part to think that what these foreigners are doing on our land, we can also do the same and retain all the wealth in Nigeria. So now that they in the time of reckoning, they are shouting back at the society they don't even care about. What have they given back to the society? Probably nothing, Someone should tell these people that we don't buy these old stocks!!! |
e-Warriors - Nigerians only register their protest against their government online, but in real life, these same people will be the ones to take placards and be protesting for two thieves in senate who see verbal jostling as more important than their constitutional responsibility. Sometimes when I listen to these people online, I will be wondering if they are actually Nigerians. Because, the people you see day by day are the people who place money far above any national interest. Hypocrisy!!! |
I hope some of these paid protesters get shot someday by soldiers, so they can stop this public nuisance |
So this country has descended to this point. Protesting for a thieve to issue apology to a thieve. Politicians that can meet themselves in the back tomorrow and settle their scores with a popped champaign, - the case of Obasanjo and Patient Jonathan comes to mind. If fact, I don't know why I belong to this generation. This is worse than madness... And these same people will see an hungry man that steals N500 tomorrow and burn him to death... Chai!!! |
I careless how much someone decides to sell her stock. But I think she's on point in her conversation with that fan. That fan has a truck-load of inferiority complex hovering over herself. Imagine! Someone is advertising a product and you're saying she's not God. What sense does that make? Admittedly, you're saying she is more equal than you. This poverty mentality is too common among Nigerians. They see celebrity or someone is a posh car, they want to kiss their feet. But they look down on their neighbors they perceive as not 'loaded' enough. How can a nation grow with this dark-age, monkey-to-banana mentality? |
See the man in the coffin as someone who is laughing, is that how a dead man look like? ![]() |
